Purely leptonic decays of the charged D meson have been studied using the reaction e+e- → D*+D- at a center of mass energy of 4.03 GeV. A search was performed for D → μνμ recoiling against a D0 or D+ which had been reconstructed from its hadronic decay products. A single event candidate was found in the reaction e+e- → D*+D-, where D*+ → π+D0 with the D0 → K-π+, and the recoiling D- decaying via D- → μ-ν̄μ. This yields a branching fraction value B(D → μνμ) = 0.08+0.16+0.05-0.05-0.02%, and a corresponding value of the pseudoscalar decay constant fD = 300+180+80-150-40 MeV. © 1998 Elsevier Science B.V. The cross section for e+e-→ρπ has been measured by the BES detector at BEPC at center-of-mass energies covering a 40 MeV interval spanning the J/ψresonance. The data are used to search for the vector gluonium state hypothesized by Brodsky, Lepage, and Tuan as an explanation of the ρπ puzzle in charmonium physics. The shape of the ρπ cross section is compatible with that of the total hadronic cross section. No distortions indicating the presence of a vector glueball are seen. © 1996 The American Physical Society.

The Beijing Spectrometer (BES) experiment has observed purely leptonic decays of the Ds meson in the reaction e+e-→Ds+Ds- at a c.m. energy of 4.03 GeV. Three events are observed in which one Ds decays hadronically to φπ, K̄*0K, or K̄0K, and the other decays leptonically to μνμ or τντ. With the assumption of μ-τ universality, values of the branching fraction, B(Ds→μνμ)=(1.5-0.6-0.2+1.3+0.3)%, and the Ds pseudoscalar decay constant, fDs=(4.3-1.3-0.4+1.5+0.4)×102 MeV, are obtained. © 1995 The American Physical Society.

We investigated dexamethasone therapy for preventing delayed encephalopathy after carbon monoxide (CO) poisoning. Eighty healthy male rats were exposed to CO and randomly divided into four groups: hyperbaric oxygen treatment (H), treatment (D), combined hyperbaric and dexamethasone treatment (C), and a control (M) group in which the rats inhaled CO to coma in the hyperbaric oxygen chamber, then were removed without further treatment. Twelve rats were put into the hyperbaric oxygen chamber and treated with air for 60 min (N) group. An eight arm maze was used to evaluate cognitive and memory abilities of these mice. Serum myelin basic protein (MBP) levels were evaluated using ELISA, and magnetic resonance imaging was used to observe brain demyelination and morbidity associated with delayed encephalopathy. A sample of the hippocampus from each group was examined by light microscopy. Cognitive and memory functions decreased in the control group M. Three days after CO poisoning, the serum MBP level of each group increased significantly. On Day 10 after CO poisoning, the MBP levels in groups C and D decreased significantly, but returned to normal on Day 18. MBP levels in the M and H groups were elevated at all time points. Brain MRIs showed significant differences among C, D, H and control M groups. Hematoxylin & eosin staining of the hippocampus showed greater damage in the control M and H groups. Early dexamethasone treatment may be useful for preventing delayed encephalopathy after CO poisoning and may reduce serum MBP levels. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Salviapenghuana , a new species from Guizhou Province of southwestern China, is described and illustrated. Morphologically, Salviapenghuana is similar to S.filicifolia , but can be easily distinguished from the latter by ovate-lanceolate bracts, purple corolla, and foot-shaped fused lower arms of connective. In addition, S.penhuana is morphologically similar to S.cavaleriei , but differs by having 3-4-pinnate leave, ovate-lanceolate bracts, puberulent calyx, and longer upper arms of connective. Based on the fibril root, small calyx and corolla, and completely reduced posterior thecae, S.penghuana should be placed in section Sobiso of subg. Thermoelectric generators (TEGs) are environmentally friendly energy harvesting technologies that hold great promise in the field of self-powered electronics and sensing. However, the current development of thermoelectric (TE) devices has largely lagged behind the development of thermoelectric materials, especially in the preparation of thermoelectric components with customizable shapes and excellent properties, which largely limits their practical applications. These issues can be effectively addressed by using 3D printing technology. Here, we print multiple p-type thermoelectric legs (pins) consecutively with this simple technique, and the printed TEGs have excellent thermal potential (288 μV K -1 at room temperature) and excellent temperature response properties, which exhibited an output voltage of 127.94 mV at a temperature difference (Δ T ) of 40 K. The 3D-printed thermoelectric generator enables the collection of thermal energy. In addition, the device has excellent temperature sensing characteristics, and this temperature signal to electrical signal conversion is very rapid, which enables temperature sensing alarms in a wide temperature domain. Combining these features, an energy harvesting and electrical alarm concept for home-scale applications is proposed, which is expected to provide a diverse research idea for the application of next-generation thermoelectric devices.

Spiradiclisliboensis L. Wu & W. J. Liu, a new species in tribe Ophiorrhizeae of Rubiaceae from limestone mountain areas of Guizhou, south-western China, is described and illustrated. It is similar to S.guangdongensis and S.jingxiensis , but differs from the latter two by the following traits: stipule triangular, inflorescence sessile or with peduncle up to 0.5 mm long, pedicel 0.8-2.2 mm long, corolla white, salverform, corolla tube 1.6-2.2 cm long, corolla tube of long-styled morph inside with a villous ring and stigmas positioned at the throat of the corolla tube. Effective thermal management is quite urgent for electronics owing to their ever-growing integration degree, operation frequency and power density, and the main strategy of thermal management is to remove excess energy from electronics to outside by thermal conductive materials. Compared to the conventional thermal management materials, flexible thermally conductive films with high in-plane thermal conductivity, as emerging candidates, have aroused greater interest in the last decade, which show great potential in thermal management applications of next-generation devices. However, a comprehensive review of flexible thermally conductive films is rarely reported. Thus, we review recent advances of both intrinsic polymer films and polymer-based composite films with ultrahigh in-plane thermal conductivity, with deep understandings of heat transfer mechanism, processing methods to enhance thermal conductivity, optimization strategies to reduce interface thermal resistance and their potential applications. The 2017 edition of expert consensus on classification and clinical strategy of constipation was released in March 2018. This artide makes a joint interpretation of it with the Guideline for surgical diagnosis and treatment of constipation ( 2017 edition ). The similarities and differences between the two mainly include: (1) The concept of constipation is basically the same, the main difference is that the consensus puts forward the association between constipation and mental disorders. (2) For constipation in terms of etiology, examination methods and evaluation, the consensus does not mention the etiology, but the examination methods are completely consistent. The reference standard of mental and psychological assessment is added in the consensus. (3) For the diagnosis of constipation, the diagnostic criteria and classification of constipation are specified in the guideline, and only the classification of constipation is mentioned briefly, while the consensus further develops the three different degrees of constipation. (4) For the treatment of constipation, the basic principles are the same. In the description of the specific treatment plan, the guideline divides the treatment methods of constipation into two categories: non-surgical treatment and surgical treatment, and then focuses on the suitability and specific operation of surgical treatment, while the consensus focuses more on coping strategies and treatment options for different degrees of constipation, including how to deal with the unavoidable mental and psychological disorders in the diagnosis and treatment of constipation questions. It can be seen that the consensus is a supplement and improvement of the guideline for surgical diagnosis and treatment of constipation. The consensus provides more targeted and applicable clinical reference ideas for clinical practice from different perspectives, especially the better auxiliary clinical decision-making after the quantification of the classification standard of constipation.

Hybrid two-dimensional (2D) halide perovskites has been widely studied due to its potential application for high performance perovskite solar cells. Understanding the relationship between microstructural and opto-electronic properties is very important for fabricating high-performance 2D perovskite solar cell. In this work, the effect of solvent annealing on grain growth was investigated to enhance the efficiency of photovoltaic devices with 2D perovskite films based on (BA) 2 (MA) 3 Pb 4 I 13 prepared by single-source thermal evaporation. Results show that solvent annealing with the introduction of solvent vapor can effectively enhance the crystallization of the (BA) 2 (MA) 3 Pb 4 I 13 thin films and produce denser, larger-crystal grains. The thin films also display a favorable band gap of 1.896 eV, which benefits for increasing the charge-diffusion lengths. The solvent-annealed (BA) 2 (MA) 3 Pb 4 I 13 thin-film solar cell prepared by single-source thermal evaporation shows an efficiency range of 2.54-4.67%. Thus, the proposed method can be used to prepare efficient large-area 2D perovskite solar cells.

Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is one of the common and underdiagnosed diseases with the highest morbidity and mortality in the world. The development of COPD can lead to pulmonary vascular remodeling and pulmonary hypertension, further causing the occurrence of pulmonary heart disease. Therefore, attenuation of pulmonary vascular remodeling and pulmonary hypertension caused by COPD can significantly delay cardiovascular complications. In the study, we firstly found that the expression of CD30 and CD30L was increased in COPD. Importantly, the serum CD30L levels were significantly higher in patients with stable COPD relative to those with acute exacerbation of COPD (AECOPD). This suggested that CD30 might be related to the development of COPD. In addition, we found that the expression of CD30 in the COPD rat model was significantly increased compared with control group. And treatment with the anti-CD30 antibody reduced the serum concentration and tissue expression of CD30 in rat. Importantly, anti-CD30 antibody alleviated pulmonary vascular remodeling in COPD model rats. This suggested that CD30 played an important role in the course of COPD. Finally, we found that, in the HPASMC and HPAEC cell lines, CD30 can affect the cell viability and cell migration and inhibited hypoxia-induced cell apoptosis in a concentration-dependent manner. We also found CD30 induced extracellular matrix formation through decreasing the expression of MMP-2, thus promoting the pulmonary vascular remodeling. The study indicated that CD30 and CD30L were involved in pulmonary vascular remodeling and inflammatory response in COPD. Altogether, CD30 might be a marker for the early diagnosis and progression of COPD.

Objective: To explore the biomarkers that applied to pulmonary acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) and extrapulmonary ARDS respectively. Methods: A total of 49 eligible patients with ARDS were selected from Department of Respiratory intensive care unite (ICU) , Department of General ICU and Department of Emergency ICU, the Second Affiliated Hospital of Nanchang University, during April 2015 and February 2016, and divided into pulmonary ARDS group ( n =26) and extrapulmonary ARDS group ( n =23) according to primary causes. Totally 19 cases from healthy examination personnel were served as control. Acute physiology and chronic health evaluation Ⅲ (APACHE Ⅲ) score and lung injury score of all hospitalized patients were completed within 24 hours after the diagnosis of ARDS and the serum levels of angiogenin2 (Ang-2) , surfactant protein D (SP-D), soluble receptor for advanced glycation end products (sRAGE), Krebs von den Lungen-6 (KL-6) were measured. Then the 28-day outcomes were observed. The serum levels of the biomarkers were compared between each group and correlation analysis was conducted between different indexes. Finally, The relationship between the four biomarkers and the outcome of each group was analyzed. Results: The serum level of Ang-2 in pulmonary ARDS group and extrapulmonary ARDS group was significantly higher than that in control group[1 462 (569, 3 638) and 4 568 (2 236, 8 457) vs 460 (389, 578) ng/L, all P <0.05], and the serum level of Ang-2 was significantly higher in extrapulmonary ARDS group than that in pulmonary ARDS group ( P <0.05). The serum level of SP-D in pulmonary ARDS group and extrapulmonary ARDS group was significantly higher than that in control group[5.9 (2.5, 22.7) mg/L and 3.7 (1.7, 6.5) vs 1.9 (0.6, 4.4) mg/L, all P <0.05], and the serum level of SP-D was significantly higher in pulmonary ARDS group than that in extrapulmonary ARDS group ( P <0.05). The serum level of sRAGE in pulmonary ARDS group and extrapulmonary ARDS group was significantly higher than that in control group[238 (101, 583) and 229 (114, 443) vs 117 (88, 176) ng/L, all P <0.05]. The serum level of KL-6 in pulmonary ARDS group was significantly higher than that in control group[10 435 (3 401, 17 607) vs 4 780 (3 962, 5 320) U/L, P <0.05]. Increased serum levels of SP-D ( OR =1.089, 95% CI: 1.001-1.085) and KL-6 ( OR =1.206, 95% CI: 1.016-1.432) at the early stage were the independent prognostic factors for the 28-day mortality for pulmonary ARDS. Advanced age ( OR =2.622, 95% CI: 1.046-6.574) was the independent prognostic factor for the 28-day mortality for extrapulmonary ARDS. Conclusion: SP-D and KL-6 may be the serum biomarkers of pulmonary ARDS and Ang-2 may be the serum biomarker of extrapulmonary ARDS.

Objective: To investigate the changes in human airway smooth muscle cell (HASMC) migration and related signaling pathway after interference with PTEN gene expression., Method: HASMCs were infected with an adenovirus vector and RNA interference vector of human PTEN gene to establish the cell model with PTEN gene over-expression (Ad-GFP-PTEN-HASMC) and one with PTEN gene silencing (Ad-shPTEN-HASMC), using Ad-GFP-infected and a blank cells as the negative controls and LY294002 as the positive control. Fluorescence microscopy and flow cytometric analysis were used to evaluate the transfection efficiency, and Western blotting was performed to examine the expression of PTEN and the activation of AKT and ERK1/2 signal pathway. Transwell assay and wound healing assay were used to assess the migration of HASMCs., Results: The adenovirus over-expression vector and RNA interference vector significantly affected the expression of human PTEN gene. Up-regulation of PTEN gene resulted in a slow-down of the HASMC migration, an inhibition of PI3K/AKT signal pathway at the protein level but no changes in Ras-Raf-MEK1/2-ERK1/2 signal pathway. Down-regulated PTEN gene expression, however, was not associated with an enhancement of HASMC migration, but activated PI3K/AKT signal pathway and inhibited Ras-Raf-MEK1/2-ERK1/2 signal pathway., Conclusion: Upregulation of PTEN gene can effectively inhibit airway smooth muscle cell migration, the effect of which is probably mediated by the PI3K/AKT pathway.

A survey indicated that the prevalence of Demodex infection among 512 college students in Tangshan was 36.3% (186/512), that of males and females was 39.3% (81/206) and 34.3% (105/306) respectively (P>0.05). The infection of Demodex folliculorum accounted for 82.3% (153/186), followed by D. brevis (7.5%, 14/186) and mixed infection (10.2%, 19/186). The prevalence was 47.0% (93/198) in subjects with oily skin, 26.6% (37/139) in those with dry skin, and 33.9% (56/165) in mixed-type skin (P<0.05). Subjects with facial diseases (62.0%, 75/121), such as rosacea and acne, were more likely to be infected with Demodex than those with healthy skin (27.6%, 80/290) (P<0.05). Prevalence in those lived in humid environment (67.9%, 95/140) was higher than those lived in the desiccating environment (24.5%, 91/372) (P<0.05).

Algorithms that use optical system diversity to improve multiplexed image reconstruction from multiple low-resolution images are analyzed and demonstrated. Compared with systems using identical imagers, systems using additional lower-resolution imagers can have improved accuracy and computation. The diverse system is not sensitive to boundary conditions and can take full advantage of improvements that decrease noise and allow an increased number of bits per pixel to represent spatial information in a scene.
