Background: The purpose of this study is to determine the incidence of electrolyte and ABG abnormalities in infants with HPS and also we evaluate other parameters of the study. ‎ Materials and Methods: This descriptive study covers 161 infants with HPS hospitalized in children Medical center of Tehran university underwent surgical repair from march 1996 to march 2002 . ‎ Results & Conclusion: The results indicated that Hypokalemic metabolic alkalosis had occurred in 40% of patients. ‎The sex ratio was 3/1 =M/F and the most time of presentation was between 15t and 5st week and the most presenting sign was vomiting. Clinical icter happened to be found in 15% of patients. The incidence of accompanying anomalies was 9% and olive sign was palpable in 40%. ‎The best way for evaluating and diagnosis was sonography. ‎The mean period to begin postoperative feeding was 30 hours' no complication related to option was reported after operation.

Background: Mediastinum includes the vital organs like the heart the major respiratory passages and the major vessels due to this vicinity, the masses of this area with malignant or benign etiology or cause systemic diseases such as metastatic malignancies or granulomatous reactions can be potentially fatal. Materials and Methods: According to the priority of the problem, a ten years comprehensive retrospectively study of mediastinal masses in children was conducted In children medical Center (Tehran University) from the points of view of incidence, clinical manifestations and diagnostic and treating ways. Results & Conclusion: In our study there were 34 patients from 1992-2002 who were reviewed. No differences between boys and girls with mediastinal masses were observrd. The most prevalence age for mediastinal tumors was form 5-10 years (38%). The most prevalent sign was fever (53%) and the most common symptom was coughing (44.4%). Basesd on this research, mediastinal masses have been the most prevalent finding in chest radiography (53.8%). CT-Scan with double contrast was recognized as the most common and easiest ways for diagnosing masses. Anterior masses were the most common finding in our study (41.7%). Most of these masses were removed by surgery and the most common operation in our patients was thoracotomy and removing the masses (61.7%). Lymphoma was the most common masses (35.2%) and masses with neural orgins occupy the second grade. According to available documents and with regard to mean follow up of patients in 3.2 years the rate of survival was 54%.

In this paper, a theoretical formulation for lateral translation and impedance function of a rigid foundation in a transversely isotropic functionally graded (TIFG) half-space is presented. Accordingly, the medium is considered linear elastic and the elastic constants of materials vary exponentially along the depth for considering the effect of elastic non-homogeneities. The relax treatment of mixed boundary value problem is formulated by integrating the transformed kernels of Green's functions over the foundation area with unknown surface traction function, which can be reduced into a Fredholm integral equation. The results represent the impact and treatment of frequency and material anisotropy through the medium. In addition, static and dynamic distribution of tangential shear stress over the foundation for surface and embedded disk extracted and the cutoff frequency is found out explicitly. Aim: The aim of this study was to construct and validate an inventory of adolescent psychological pathology in cyberspace. Methods: The research method was exploratory (qualitative-quantitative). For this purpose, by using the thematic analysi, by studying articles and interviewing professors and active adolescents in cyberspace, damages were identified and based on that, an inventory was constructed and validated. The statistical population in the qualitative section included available articles, professors of Arak, Isfahan, Qazvin Imam Khomeini universities and active adolescents in cyberspace in Arak. The sample was selected by purposive method. The statistical population in the quantitative section included active adolescents in cyberspace in Arak, 800 individuals of them (400 for exploratory factor analysis and 400 for confirmatory factor analysis) were selected by multistage cluster sampling method. The research instruments were a demographic information sheet, a researcher-made questionnaire on how to use cyberspace, and a semi-structured interview. Results: The content and face validity of the inventory were confirmed. In construct validity by exploratory factor analysis, 10 factors were extracted, which explained 78.43% of the variance. In confirmatory factor analysis, fit indicators were desirable. The reliability of the inventory was 0.98 with Cronbach's alpha and 0.82 with retest. Conclusion: It can be concluded that the constructed inventory has good validity and reliability and can be used to assess the psychological damages of adolescents in cyberspace. Rapid development of underground space necessitates the efficient management of underground areas. Data modelling plays an underpinning role in integrating and managing underground physical and legal data. The physical data refers to semantic and spatial data of underground assets such as utilities, tunnels, and basements, while the legal data comprises the ownership information and the extent of underground legal spaces and the semantic and spatial relationships between legal spaces. Current Underground Land Administration (ULA) practices mainly focus on representing only either legal spaces or the physical reality of subsurface objects using fragmented and isolated 2D drawings, leading to ineffective ULA. A complete and accurate 3D representation of underground legal spaces integrated with the 3D model of their physical counterparts can support different use cases of ULA beyond underground land registration, such as planning, design and construction of underground assets (e.g. tunnels and train stations), utility management and excavation. CityGML is a prominent semantic data model to represent 3D urban objects at a city scale, making it a good choice for underground because underground assets such as tunnels and utilities are often modelled at city scales. However, CityGML, in its current version, does not support legal information. This research aims to develop an Application Domain Extension (ADE) for CityGML to support 3D ULA based on the requirements defined in the Victorian state of Australia. These requirements include primary underground parcels and secondary underground interests. This work extends CityGML 3.0, which is the new version of this model. In CityGML 3.0, UML conceptual models as platform-independent models are suggested to express ADEs. Thus, the ADE proposed in this study will be based on UML. The findings of this study show that extending CityGML to support legal information can be a viable solution to meet the requirements of a 3D integrated model for ULA. The CityGML ADE proposed in this study can potentially provide a new solution for 3D digital management of underground ownership rights in Victoria, and it can be used to implement an integrated 3D digital data environment for ULA. Background: Although previous research has established a direct impact of natural disasters on child mental health, there is limited knowledge on the underpinning mechanisms, particularly when there has been the loss of a parent. Aims: To establish: (a) the rates of behavioural and emotional problems of school-aged children who had lost their parents in the 2003 earthquake in Iran, compared with children from intact families who attended the same schools; (b) the relationship between the psychopathology of the surviving parents' and children's behavioural and emotional problems; and (c) whether this relationship was compounded by socioeconomic factors. Methods: Eighty six children of 7-13 years who had lost a parent in the earthquake four years earlier were compared with 80 matched children from intact families. The teacher and parent versions of the Strengths and Difficulties Questionnaire (SDQ) were used as measures of behavioural and emotional problems. Parents' psychopathology was established by the Self Report Questionnaire (SRQ). Results: Behavioural and emotional problems were significantly higher in children who had suffered parental loss than in the control group. There was a significant association between parent-rated SDQ and SRQ scores. Parental death was found to interact with socioeconomic variables in predicting children's behavioural and emotional problems and surviving parents' mental health problems. Conclusions: After natural disasters, bereaved children and their surviving parents are at risk of developing mental health problems, and social adversities increase this risk.

Background and Objectives: Operating frequency range of a microphone array is limited by the array configuration. Spatial aliasing occurs at frequencies considered to be out of the microphone array operating range that leads to side-lobes in the array beam pattern and consequently degrades the performance of the microphone array. In this paper, a general approach for increasing the operational bandwidth of the spherical microphone array without physical changes to the microphone array is proposed. Methods: Recently, Alon and Rafaely proposed a beamforming method with aliasing cancellation and formulated it for some well-known beamformers such as maximum directivity (MD), maximum white noise gain (WNG), and minimum variance distortionless response (MVDR) which have been called MDAC, MGAC, MVDR-AC beamformer respectively. In this paper, we derive MDAC method from different point of view. Then, based on our perspective, we propose a new method that is easily applicable for any beamforming algorithms. Results: Comparing with MDAC and MGAC beamformers, performance measures for our approach show improvement in directivity index (DI) and white noise gain (WNG) by nearly 19% and 15% respectively. Conclusion: Aliasing and, in consequence, unwanted side lobe formation is the main factor in spherical microphone arrays operational bandwidth determination. Most of the methods previously presented to reduce aliasing demanded physical changes in the array structure which comes at a cost. In this paper we propose a new method based on Alon and Rafaely's approach via designing a constrained optimization problem using orthogonality property of spherical harmonics, to achieve better performance. Inverse bremsstrahlung is one important way to deliver laser energy to the plasma in inertial confinement fusion. In this article, we study the collisional absorption rate as obtained from the Fokker–Planck treatment of an unmagnetized plasma in harmonic laser field. The electron–ion collision rate is considered in the Krook approximation, and the electron distribution function is considered a Maxwellian function. We evaluate the inverse bremsstrahlung absorption near the irradiated plasma surface in the critical layer. We observe that absorption increases with shorter laser wavelength and lower electron temperatures. When the maximum electron velocity in the limit of q → 1 reaches infinity, the q‐non‐extensive distribution function reduces to the standard Maxwell‐Boltzmann distribution. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

New urban strategies encourage compact city and higher density urban development due to unprecedented city growth and rapid urbanisation. This has led to greater attention to multi-dimensional representation, modelling and analytics of urban settings among urban planners, decision makers, and researchers. Nowadays, urban planning and urban design practitioners and scholars leverage the advancements in computer technology and multi-dimensional visualisation in examining the development scenarios from physical, environmental, social, and economic aspects. However, many urban planners still rely on two-dimensional (2D) land information and urban designers use three-dimensional (3D) graphic-based engines to asses a proposed building or assess the impact of changing development regulations. This limits the decision makers from a holistic approach through integrating the urban systems with other application domains such as transport, environmental, and disaster management to ensure the liveability of cities. This paper describes the design, and development of a multi-dimensional and spatially enabled platform to support liveability planning in Singapore. A Quantitative Urban Environment Simulation Tool (QUEST), developed in Singapore, leveraged 3D mapping data captured under the Singapore Land Authority's (SLA) 3D National Topographic Mapping project. SLA's 3D data including Building Information Model (BIM), CityGML, and other geospatial data (building footprints and land use) were processed and adapted as a service for a series of urban analytics. The paper concludes that the prerequisites for any urban environmental simulation system to be integrated with other application domains are 3D mapping data and a digital urban model, which must be spatially accurate and based on open data standards. Abstract: In this research, fracture of dissimilar friction stir welded (FSWed) joint made of Al 7075‐T6 and Al 6061‐T6 aluminum alloys is investigated in the cracked semi‐circular bend (CSCB) specimen under mixed mode I/II loading. Due to the elastic‐plastic behavior of the welded material and the existence of significant plastic deformations around the crack tip at the propagation instance, fracture prediction of the FSWed specimens needs some failure criteria in the context of the elastic‐plastic fracture mechanics which are very complicated and time‐consuming. For this purpose, the Equivalent Material Concept (EMC) is used herein by which the tensile behavior of the welded material is equated with that of a virtual brittle material. By combining EMC with the 2 brittle fracture criteria, namely the maximum tangential stress (MTS) and mean stress (MS) criteria, the load‐carrying capacity (LCC) of the FSWed CSCB specimens is predicted. Comparison of the experimental results and theoretical predictions from the 2 criteria showed that both criteria could accurately predict the LCC of the cracked specimens. Moreover, as the contribution of mode II loading increases, the size of the plastic region around the crack tip at failure increases, leading to increasing the LCC. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Satisfying the accommodation needs of the world's urban population requires high-rise buildings. Accommodating some of 3.5 billion urban population in complex apartments has created challenges including the human scale understanding of complex 3D property rights, and engineering and architectural features relating to building interiors. Technological developments have brought about the prevalence of inexpensive systems such as gaming consoles and smartphones. This paper explores the use of Kinect for Windows (a consumer grade technology that was originally designed for computer gaming purposes) to survey indoors in 3D. This paper presents the result of an investigation into the utility of this widespread and economical technology for 3D surveying of interiors of buildings in relation to Surveying (Cadastral Survey) Regulation 2005, Victoria, Australia. Building on the results of the investigation, the paper argues that such a technology has the potential to be used in other application domains and crowdsourcing 3D indoor information. Search and rescue procedures for indoor environments are quite complicated due to the fact that much of the indoor information is unavailable to rescuers before physical entrance to the incident scene. Thus, decision making regarding the number of crew required and the way they should be dispatched in the building considering the various access points and complexities in the buildings in order to cover the search area in minimum time is dependent on prior knowledge and experience of the emergency commanders. Hence, this paper introduces the Search and Rescue Problem (SRP) which aims at finding best search and rescue routes that minimize the overall search time in the buildings. 3D BIM-oriented indoor GIS is integrated in the indoor route graph to find accurate routes based on the building geometric and semantic information. An Ant Colony Based Algorithm is presented that finds the number of first responders required and their individual routes to search all rooms and points of interest inside the building to minimize the overall time spent by all rescuers inside the disaster area. The evaluation of the proposed model for a case study building shows a significant improve in search and rescue time which will lead to a higher chance of saving lives and less exposure of emergency crew to danger. This paper presents the result of an investigation into the utility of the Structure Sensor developed by Occipital Inc. and accuracy of its output for 3D surveying of interiors of buildings in relation to Surveying (Cadastral Survey) Regulation 2005 in Victoria, Australia. The paper investigates data acquisition issues, defines guidelines to obtain the best reconstruction result, and evaluates the result against the requirements set by the Regulation. The findings suggest a mixed result. The sensor delivers more accurate outputs for the smaller room sizes. Also, the accuracy does not meet the requirements, but it was found to be close to what is expected in the Regulation. Finally, the paper argues that the device is user-friendly enough to be used by non-experts for crowdsourcing indoor information and, the accuracy of its output can meet the needs of other domains such as indoor navigation and public safety.
