This study investigates the resilience strategies employed by small and medium-sized tourism enterprises (SMTEs) in Tanjung Bira, a marine-based destination in South Sulawesi, Indonesia, to cope with the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. Duchek's Model of resilience, which conceptualizes resilience as a meta-capability composed of three stages (anticipation, coping, and adaptation), is used as a key framework. An exploratory qualitative approach was employed, involving in-depth semi-structured interviews with seven informants representing various tourism stakeholders. Thematic analysis revealed several main strategies for SMTE resilience: collaboration with stakeholders, government intervention, implementation of digital marketing, strengthening SMTEs legality, and strengthening/diversification of SMTE products. Mapping these strategies onto Duchek's Model, the anticipation stage included strategic planning, risk assessment, and building dynamic capabilities; the coping stage consisted of immediate financial measures and policy support; and the adaptation stage involved diversification, technology and innovation adoption, and collaboration and networking. A key implication is that destination management organizations should create innovative products and leverage online platforms for marketing to increase visitor arrivals and boost SMTE product sales. The findings contribute to understanding SMTE resilience in the context of a marine-based destination in Eastern Indonesia and provide insights for policymakers and practitioners to support SMTE recovery and long-term sustainability post-pandemic.

This study aims to explore the learning of various values through the MINHA Islamic linguistic landscape, the learning of exemplary values of figures through the linguistic landscape of MINHA figures, and the learning of multicultural communication from information boards and sign names. The research employed Linguistic Landscape Research with a qualitative approach. The linguistic data used in this study were obtained from images containing written text and videos providing information about Islamic history, figures, and guidelines. The data collection methods included observation and interviews. The findings revealed that three groups of linguistic features could serve as educational tools in MINHA, including linguistic features related to Islam, characters, and instructions for using MINHA and its facilities. The diverse values embedded in these linguistic features can enhance the effectiveness of learning by catering to students with varied backgrounds. The use of language in public spaces, such as in MINHA, constitutes a form of Linguistic Landscape, which may manifest as stickers on buildings in formal or informal settings. Linguistic Landscape (LL) serves as a tool to promote multilingualism and highlight the benefits of language.

Interest rate fixing is a monetary tool used to control the money supply and hence inflation by the central bank. However, it cannot be applied to Islamic banks due to the prohibition of interest in Islam. This paper examines whether the central bank may implement rate fixing for Islamic banks, given that interest is forbidden, and the fixing of prices by the government is also generally prohibited, according to Hadith and the consensus of Islamic jurists. A documentation study was conducted to comprehend the viewpoints of classical and contemporary Islamic jurists and the National Shariah Board−Indonesian Ulama Council's fatwa. The analysis used Islamic law methodology (uşūl fiqh), which included combining the opinions of classical and contemporary Islamic jurists through the al-jam’u and the legal maxim approach, "al-‘ādah muhakkamah" approach to the custom practiced by Islamic banks, and the maqāşid approach. The research findings illustrate that Islamic banks have been using rates to calculate profits as the National Shariah Board−Indonesian Ulama Council accepts the notion of the time value of money, provided it is not utilized in loan transactions. This condition could enable the central bank to set the rates for Islamic banks, which is an effective tool for controlling the money supply and achieving economic stability, thus contributing to the realization of community welfare (maslahah 'ammah).

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan menganalisis struktur pidato dengan metode Inquiry/Discovery pada siswa kelas IX B SMPN 1 Selong tahun pembelajaran 2021/2022. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas PTK yang terdiri dari 2 siklus. Tiap siklus terdiri dari 4 tahap yaitu 1) tahap perencanaan, 2) pelaksanaan, 3) Observasi dan refleksi. Instrumen penelitian ini adalah berupa LKPD dan rubrik penilaian untuk mengetahui kemampuan analisis struktur pidato dan pedoman observasi untuk mengamati proses pembelajaran (tindakan). Keberhasilan tindakan ditentukan dengan melihat peningkatan nilai rata-rata kemampuan menganalisis struktur pidato persuasif pada siklus I ke siklus II. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat peningkatan skor rata-rata menganalisis struktur pidato persuasif sebesar 71 pada siklus I menjadi 78 pada siklus II. Dalam peningkatan aktivitas, terbukti secara signifikan, yaitu skor rata-rata aktivitas pada siklus I, yaitu sebesar 2,65 meningkat menjadi 3,75 pada siklus II. Penggunaan metode Inquiry/Discovery dapat meningkatkan kemampuan menganalisis pidato persuasif dan mutu pembelajaran pada siswa kelas IX SMPN 1 Selong Tahun Pelajaran 2021/2022.

This study aims to examine the creation of alternative tourism attractions in Makassar City. It is qualitative research, and the informants include the Mayor of Makassar, the Head of the Department of Tourism and Creative Economy, the Head of the Makassar District, the Chairman of the Regional Board of the Indonesian Hotel and Restaurant Association (PHRI) in South Sulawesi, the Chairman of the Regional Board of the Association of Indonesian Tours and Travel Agencies (ASITA) in South Sulawesi, and the local community. Data was collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The data analysis technique employed was qualitative descriptive analysis, involving data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing or verification. The research findings indicate that the implementation of the Makassar Tidak Rantasa (MTR) Policy, which includes the Lorong Garden program, has successfully transformed several alleys or lanes into cleaner, healthier, and more attractive places to visit, particularly in the Makassar District. However, these changes have not yet created alternative tourism attractions. The recommendation from this study emphasizes the need to consider the principles of tourism attraction management to follow up on the Lorong Garden program and ultimately create alternative tourism attractions in Makassar City.

Consumer behavior changes from offline to online, raise several problems that need to be faced by business actors in Kerinjing Village. These problems including complaints that occur in online sales which cause customer dissatisfaction, and the lack of knowledge of business actors in Kerinjing Village, specially in digital technology because of the level of education. Based on the survey, it is known that the most complaints that occur in online sales related to the delivery of goods. The purpose of this training is that online business actors can improve the service quality by providing knowledge about the delivery system, how to choose the right delivery service and knowing how to pack goods appropriately so that they are not damaged during shipping. The training stages start from explaining the importance of managing the delivery system, how to choose the right shipping service, managing the delivery system in e-commerce applications and practicing proper packing techniques and according to product characteristics

Augmented reality in e-commerce has become the latest trend in the world of online shopping. The purpose of this study is to empirically prove the influence of perceived of usefulness and the perceived ease of use towards behavioral intentions through attitudes. The urgency of this research is the new phenomenon of online shopping experience in Indonesia using augmented reality technology in e-commerce. This study used primary data by distributing questionnaires to 200 users of AR application in e-commerce with random sampling techniques. This study used Path analysis with SPSS. The results of the study prove that the perceived of usefulness and the perceived ease of use have a significant effect on online purchase intentions through attitudes. The perceived ease of use has more influence than the perceived of usefulness.

Indonesian Language for Foreign Speakers (BIPA) is Indonesian language learning intended for foreigners. The aim of this research was to examine the vocabulary, terminologies, and grammar used by BIPA students with the corpus linguistics application, Kortara. This research was conducted at Fatoni University and Yale University with 51 BIPA students. This research used a mixed-methods approach, comprising the quantitative method that was used in the early stage of research to obtain the research data and the qualitative method for the analysis process. The research results showed dominant mastery of vocabulary by BIPA students, mostly nouns, verbs, adverbs, pronouns, and adjectives. There were 11 vocabularies with the highest frequency. Based on the results of the analysis, effective and efficient vocabulary learning principles and techniques were structured for BIPA students as an introduction to word types and variations of word formation in the Indonesian language.

Islamic education as part of society's value system cannot be separated from cultural elements. Therefore, the relationship between Islamic education and culture can be an appropriate collaboration in overcoming shifts in values among society. The aim of this research is to represent the values of Islamic education in the Wayang Kekayon Khalifah play Pandanarang Malik Grembyang, which also looks at the implementation of its value content on the social system. This research uses the hermeneutic phenomenology method to study the play text textually and contextually. The results of the research show that the play contains the essence of the dangers of life that deifies the world or the despicable behavior of one's culture. So, the Pandanarang play in the Wayang Kekayon Khalifah art becomes relevant when it is presented to a community that is starting to experience a shift in values. The implications of this research reflect a cultural approach as optimizing Islamic education in society.

This research aims to reveal changes in the image of women in the novel by Motinggo Busye, which was published 30 years (1960 – 1990). The theory used in this research is feminist theory. The research method uses qualitative content description. The subject of this research was carried out using a purposive sampling technique, namely the novel by Motinggo Busye which was published 30 years (1960 - 1990). The results of this research indicate a change in the image of women in providing biological material needs from aggressive, immoral and hedonistic to polite, civilized and religious.

This study aims to determine the effect of reading material of Indonesian course by student and teacher in Senior High School. The type of reading is in the form of folklore in the West Sumatra area. This research used quantitativeapproach towards descriptive method. It is to describe the learning effect for students and teachers, where it is related to master a reading with critical reading learning using the Sharing Reading Literacy model. The research subjects were students of class X SMAN 15 Padang studying critical reading material and consisting of 10 classes. The instruments used were questionnaire sheets and interview guidelines. Data were analyzed by using descriptive statistics. Based on the results of data analysis, it shows that 74% of students need critical reading learning resources, 73% of student need critical reading learning media, and 58% of student need critical reading learning methods called Sharing Reading Literacy as required by the learning indicators. It shows that the local content text based sharing model affect the Indonesian Language course in Indonesian Senior High School.

The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of manager competence, utilization of information technology and stakeholder involvement on the accountability of BOS fund management with transparency as moderating. The study used a quantitative approach with the census method. The unit of analysis in this study was SMAN and SMKN in Aceh Selatan Regency, which were 38 schools with principals, treasurers, school committees and teachers as respondents. Data was collected by distributing questionnaires to 152 respondents. The results of the study indicate that the competence of managers, utilization of information technology, stakeholder involvement and accountability simultaneously affect the accountability of BOS fund management. Then, partially manager competence, use of information technology, stakeholder involvement, and transparency have a positive effect on the accountability of BOS fund management. Furthermore, transparency is able to moderate the relationship between the competence of managers and accountability for managing BOS funds. Transparency is able to moderate the relationship of stakeholder involvement to the accountability of BOS fund management. However, transparency is not able to moderate the relationship between the use of information technology and the accountability of BOS fund management.

Humans, nature, culture, and creators have an inseparable relationship. In Javanese culture, gratitude is realized through cultural events, such as Bersih Desa (village clean-ups ceremony). A puppet play of Sri Mulih is performed as an expression of gratitude. This research is a qualitative descriptive study with three stages: data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The data source is a video of Wayang Purwa play of Sri Mulih. First, the data are reduced and analyzed by discussing the problem. Finally, the data are assessed by using triangulation techniques to obtain data validity. This study found that the religious value within the play is related to the ceremony of Bersih Desa in the Purworejo district. The finding provides a picture of the acculturation of local culture and Islamic teachings because wayang plays are adapted according to the Javanese culture. Manusia, alam, budaya, dan pencipta memiliki hubungan yang tidak bisa dipisahkan. Dalam budaya masyarakat Jawa, rasa syukur diwujudkan dengan acara-acara kebudayaan seperti halnya bersih desa. Lakon wayang kulit Sri Mulih yang dipentaskan sebagai perwujudan rasa syukur masyarakat Jawa. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan keyakinan religi masyarakat hubungannya dengan kepercayaan bersih desa menggunakan sarana pertunjukan wayang kulit purwa dengan lakon Sri Mulih. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif kualitatif dengan tiga tahapan penelitian, yaitu reduksi data, sajian data, dan penarikan simpulan. Sumber data dalam penelitian ini adalah video pertunjukan wayang purwa lakon Sri Mulih. Data-data dalam sumber data utama direduksi dan dianalisis dengan pembahasan masalah. Terakhir data-data yang diperoleh diuji dengan menggunakan teknik triangulasi untuk mendapat suatu derajat validitas data. Hasil dalam penelitian ini, ditemukan nilai religius dalam lakon tersebut terkait prosesi bersih desa di kabupaten Purworejo. Hasil ini memberikan gambaran akulturasi budaya lokal dan ajaran Islam karena lakon wayang telah diadaptasi sesuai dengan kultur busaya masyarakat Jawa.

Education in a family with a muslim perspective is an education based on islamic religious guidance applied in the family that aims to shape children to become human beings who believe and fear Allah, as well as noble practices that include spiritual, ethical, ethical, moral, or understanding and experience of religious values in everyday life. This is one form of amar makruf nahi munkar in family life, namely by providing education to his daughter's son based on Islamic teachings. In getting to maturity, children need various processes played by their mothers and fathers in the family environment. The pattern of religious education in Islam is basically an example of the behavior of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) in building his family and friends, because everything done by the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) is a form of manifestation of the content of the Qur'anic verse. As for the implementation, the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) provided an opportunity for his followers in developing ways of education in children in the family as long as this method does not conflict with the principles of the implementation of education carried out by the Prophet Muhammad

AbstractThis study examines the impact of voluntary disclosure on the cost of capital and information asymmetry, and thereby on firm value in a comprehensively recursive model. We argue that there is unidirectional dependency among the information asymmetry, cost of capital, and such firm value, hence, for any given value of voluntary disclosure, values for information asymmetry, cost of capital, and firm value can be determined sequentially rather than jointly. A sample of 1920 companies-years of non-financial companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange from 2012 to 2019 is employed. The data used are a voluntary disclosure index obtained by using a self-constructed index. To calculate the cost of capital, stock market data in the form of closing prices, bid and ask prices, and some outstanding shares, as well as company financial data, are used. In examining the hypothesis, the recursive path model is utilized. The results show that the negatively direct effect of disclosure on information asymmetry and cost of capital is consistent with the hypothesis. The indirect effect of disclosure on firm value through information asymmetry is also relevant to the hypothesis. The findings suggest that higher disclosure provides great benefits for the companies as well as investors and lenders. Increasing disclosure reduces information asymmetry and the cost of capital, thereby increasing firm value.

Hikayat Patani is a saga that tells of the Patani kingdom and various diplomatic strategies contained in the Patani kingdom. The aim of this research is to describe various texts that discuss the diplomatic strategy of the Patani kingdom in Hikayat Patani by using a literary of sociology approach. This research is sourced from the data of Hikayat Patani. The data collection techniques using reading and noting techniques. The data analysis technique uses a qualitative descriptive technique accompanied by a theory of literary of sociology. The results of the study show that diplomatic strategies of Patani kingdom in Hikayat Patani namely: 1) political diplomacy with Siam; 2) war diplomacy with Siam and Palembang; 3) marital diplomacy with Pahang and Johor; 4) trade diplomacy with Cina and Melaka; 5) power diplomacy with Kelantan; and 6) religious diplomacy with Pasai. Moreover, the results of the research show that the diplomatic strategies of Patani kingdom contained in Hikayat Patani are aims to maintain and maintain the honor of the kingdom as a sovereign kingdom and a mirror of Patani society at the time the text was created.

This study is aimed to describe the texts that discussing about transformation in the Ratu-ratu Patani by using the intertextual Julia Kristeva approach. The data of the study are texts of the Ratu-ratu Patani. The data are collected through reading and noting. They are analyzed by using the qualitative descriptive technique with a reference to theory and method of intertextual Julia Kristeva. The results of the research shows that transformations in Ratu-ratu Patani are ;1) The first female king; 2) conflict in the palace; 3) construction of Sungai Tambangan; 4) The return of the Ratu Ungu; 5) addressing the title of Paduka Syah Alam; 6) conflict outside the palace; 7) The visiting of Yang Dipertuan Muda Johor; 8) Siamese attacks Patani; 9) collection of assets; 10) The betrayal of the Yang Dipertuan Muda Johor against the Ratu Kuning. In addition, the results of the study indicates that the transformations found in the novel Ratu-ratu Patani in accordance with the texts contained in the Hikayat Patani establishing before the novel Ratu-ratu Patani is written.

Live streaming in e-commerce has become the latest trend in the world of online shopping. Live streaming is effective and successful in influencing online shopping decisions in e-commerce, market places and social media, especially in China. The purpose of this study is to empirically prove the influence of live streaming experience to online shopping decisions on social media through trust. The urgency of this research is the phenomenon of a new shopping experience with live streaming on social media which is expected to increase trust for shopping on social media. This study will use primary data by distributing questionnaires to 100 users of the live streaming feature on social media who are domiciled in Palembang with non-probability sampling technique. This study is using Path analysis with SPSS. The results show that the experience of live streaming in online shopping on social media can influence consumers' online shopping decisions through trust.

This article is an elaborative description of the adaptive and collaborative forms of local communities in the context of tourism development. The people of Labuan Bajo realize that the environment in which they live for generations has now become the target of the Super Priority Destinations (SPD) program. The research method used is descriptive qualitative research. Data was collected by using in-depth interviews, observations, focus group discussions (FGD) and documentation studies. In Labuan Bajo, the role of the local community is shown through their transformation from a community with the characteristics of fishermen to the tourism industry on a micro basis. The role of local communities must be increased so that they do not only enjoy the crumbs of the big program of Super Priority Destinations (SPD). They are facing a change in economic orientation, where the tourism sector provides new opportunities to improve their welfare. This article strengthens the argument for the importance of collaborating with stakeholders, namely local communities, government, tourism actors (businesses), and academics. The importance of strengthening awareness and more comprehensive local community tourism education can be achieved by encouraging the role of universities. There are at least three stages of strategy that emerged from the results: identification of collaborating stakeholders as a precondition for making commitments, between government, private sector, community, and academia; unit process as a space to determine the right strategy; and unit of results as the alignment of program implementation, consistency of commitment, and the formation of norms in. In this context, universities have a role in producing human resources and conducting research to answer the needs of the tourism industry.

This study aims to compare the management of Indonesian language learning for foreign speakers (BIPA) at PTKI (Indonesian Language Education/TBI IAIN Surakarta) and the Indonesian Language Concentration (KBI) Department of Malay Language (JBM), Fatoni University (FTU), Thailand from the aspects of the curriculum, institutions, teaching materials, instructors, students, and methods. This study uses a descriptive-analytic method with a qualitative approach. Sources of data are informants (BIPA instructors; BIPA managers; managers of the Indonesian Language Program; Indonesian Language Concentration, Department of Malay Language, Fatoni University of Thailand, and Thai students). The results of the study show that teaching Indonesian abroad and domestically is successful because it is proven by the increasing pace of Indonesian language study by foreigners abroad. This has not only occurred at the institutional level of the BIPA program, but it has also led to majors, such as the Indonesian Language Concentration at the University of Malay Language Department. Fatoni Thailand. Meanwhile, the number of students in the PTKI Indonesian Language Program is increasing annually, and International students are increasingly interested in studying at the PTKI TBI Program. The increasing development of teaching Indonesian domestically and abroad requires ideal learning management (curriculum, instructors, institutions, students, teaching materials, and methods). TBI IAIN Surakarta and KBI JBM FTU Thailand appeared to successfully manage Indonesian language learning, although there are slight differences between the two. In terms of curriculum, instructors, institutions, students, teaching materials, and methods, learning Indonesian at TBI IAIN Surakarta is more comprehensive and ready. Therefore, intensive coordination between the two is needed because both are Islamic-based PTKIs to support the Indonesian language's internationalization by making Indonesian as the host in their own country and honored guests in other countries. This paper provides a broad view of BIPA learning management in Islamic higher education institutions in Southeast Asia because not many Islamic Higher Education Institutions in Southeast Asia have BIPA. Therefore, further studies are required on the developments (R & D) related to curriculum, instructors, institutions, students, teaching materials, and methods.

This study aims to reveal how the role of Risk readiness, perceptions of values that influence the decision to use a motorcycle through the user's involvement. The population in this study were motorcycle users in Palembang city who had at least used it for six months. This study uses a sample of 201 people with data analysis techniques using Structural Equation Modelling (SEM). Based on the results of data analysis carried out, it is known that consumer involvement is not an intervening variable between Risk readiness and consumer decisions, and nor between consumer perceptions and consumer decisions. On the contrary, both exogenous variables actually influence consumer decisions directly. Consumer perceptions also do not require deep thinking but directly have an impact on consumers to decide using a motorcycle

We could find the existing of many e-commerce and market place in Palembang, such as MatahariMall.com, Zalora, Lazada, Tokopedia, Blibli, Shopee, Elevania and Bukalapak. To win the competition and build a sustainable competitiveness, those e-commerce and market place need to hold the key factors of online purchase decision. This research purpose is to investigate online shopping experience, word of mouth and web brand image affect to web trustworthiness and whether purchase decision affected by web trustworthiness and online shopping experience. The data taken from questionnaires that distributed to 100 respondents in Palembang. This research analyzed by using Structural Equation Modelling (SEM). The results show a positive influence between online shopping experience and branding image to web trustworthiness. Word of mouth does not have influence to web trustworthiness. The result found that positive influence between web trustworthiness to purchase decision, whereas online shopping experience does not have influence to purchase decision.

Abstrak: Pengukuran getaran merupakan kegiatan yang umum dilakukan dalam perawatan prediktif. Perawatan prediktifbiasanya menggunakan pengukuran sinyal getaran untuk mendeteksi kerusakan yang terjadi pada mesin. Sinyalgetaran yang terukur tersebut, kemudian ditransformasikan dalam bentuk grafik fungsi respon frekuensi (FRF).Selanjutnya FRF diolah sedemikian rupasehingga diperoleh modus getar struktur. Dari modus getar yang diperoleh,maka dapat dianalisa kemungkinan kerusakan yang terjadi pada mesin dengan melihat besarnya amplitudo getarannya.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisa karakteristik dinamik dari sistem getaran yang terjadi pada model strukturbangunan dua lantai. Pengujian dilakukan denganmemberikan gaya eksitasi menggunakan impact hammer.Akselerometer digunakan mengukur sinyal getaran yang terjadi pada struktur. Posisi penempatan akselerometerdilakukan bervariasi untuk delapan titik pengujian yang berbeda. Sedangkan posisi pemberian gaya eksitasi tetap untuksemua titik pengujian. Pada penelitian ini menggunakan metode modal analisis eksperimen untuk mengetahuikarakteristik dinamik dari model struktur bangunan dua lantai. Teknik modal analisis ini digunakan untuk mendapatkanparameter modal seperti frekuensi, rasio redaman, dan modus getar. Hasil yang diperoleh dari penelitian inimenunjukkan bahwafrekuensi pribadipertama pada amplitudo maksimum mempunyai nilai yang sama, yaitu 2,313 Hz.Sedangkan untuk frekuensi pribadi kedua pada amplitudo maksimumnya terdapat perbedaan, yaitu pada titik pengujian3 dan 7. In maintaining, vibratesignal measurement is usually used for machine damage detection. The signal measurement is then being transformedin a FRF graph. FRF will then be processed in order to get structure mode shape. From the shape mode, analysis of themachine damage by looking at save amplitude value may be done. The purpose of this research is analyzing thedynamic character of vibration behavior on the structure model of two floor building. The testing is carried out byimplementing excitation force by using impact hammer. Accelerometer is used to measure structure vibrate signal. Theposition of accelerometer is variety for every eight different testing area. Meanwhile, the position of excitation force isthe same for all area of testing. This research applied experimental analysis modal method in order to identify dynamiccharacteristic of the structure model of two floor building. The aims of analysis modal technique are getting the modalparameter such as frequency, damping ratio, and mode shapes. The result of this research is the first natural frequencyon the maximum amplitude is the same of 2,313 Hz. While, for the second natural frequency on the maximum amplitudeis different on area 3 and area 7. Hygric properties can be estimated directly from pore structure information, represented by a network of regularly shaped pores, extracted from a pore structure image to conserve the real topology. On this network, pore-scale models of moisture behaviour determine the hygric properties of moisture storage and transport. The reliability of this approach is validated with a sintered-glass filter. Despite its more limited heterogeneity and pore size range relative to typical porous building materials, it provides a good basis for validating crucial pore-scale moisture processes. Measured storage data compare well to the estimated ad- and desorption moisture retention curves as well as to the saturated and capillary moisture content. Furthermore, the simulated whole-range moisture permeability curve agrees acceptably with measured data. The variation in modelling the pore space as a pore network model is also analysed by considering two distinct pore network extraction methods. The measured and simulated moisture contents agree well for the whole capillary range. Moreover, the resulting transport properties are generally accurate for the whole moisture content range. On the other hand, the estimated vapour permeabilities show notable variations between the two pore network models.

This research aims at describing the functions of education played by the family, school, community, and government in education partnerships in Makassar. It is also explaining the holistic model of education partnerships in Makassar. This study used a qualitative approach with a case study. The data were collected through interviews, observation, and documentation. There are some results of this research. First, the role of the family in the function of education is not run optimally. Second, the role of the school in the function of education shows a great achievement. Third, the role of the community in the function of education is very diverse. Fourth, the role of government in the function of education is conceptually comprehensive, but it needs to be reviewed and optimized. Fifth, educational partnership in Makassar performed by three education centers (family, school, community) is not optimal. The types of family-community, family-school, and school-community partnerships have not been accepted in totality. Sixth, in realizing the ideal partnership in education, a holistic model called Mitra Kemas Kelola Selamat is recommended.

This study aims to examine the effect of the government's internal control system, presentation of financial reports, and accessibility of financial reports on the accountability of financial management of the Aceh provincial government. The population in this study are all government employees within the Aceh Government Work Unit (SKPA) scope. In this study, a purposive sampling technique was used where the researcher took as many as four samples of respondents per SKPA with criteria in the form of government employees who were direct financial management executors, namely the Head of Sub-Division of Finance, Receiving Treasurer, Expenditure Treasurer, and Receiving/Expenditure Assistant Treasurer. Questionnaires were distributed over two months and 23 days with 188 respondents who were collected in this study. The results of this study state that simultaneously, the government's internal control system, presentation of financial reports, and accessibility of financial reports have a significant positive effect on accountability for the financial management of the Aceh provincial government. The "descent" label has created a distance between the Tionghoa ethnic and the indigenous people in Indonesia. The "descent" label creates the impression that the Tionghoa ethnic are ethically and morally different from the natives. The 1998 May riots in Jakarta further exacerbated ethnic Tionghoa sentiment in Indonesia. The Tionghoa community is considered as "others" in terms of physical and cultural attributes, so they are not considered part of Indonesian society, even though they are Chinese Indonesians. This has caused the Chinese community in Indonesia to experience an identity crisis. Ethnic Tionghoa are faced with two identities between, Indonesian and Chinese, to blend into Indonesian society. This research seeks to describe the identity crisis of ethnic Tionghoa through female characters in the novel Naga Kuning by Yusiana Basuki. The intersection of gender theory and identity theory is used to analyze the phenomenon of the Tionghoa ethnic identity crisis in Indonesia. The method used in this research was descriptive qualitative. Data collection was done through literary studies. The results showed that Yusiana Basuki, through the novel Naga Kuning depicts discrimination and violence against Tionghoa women in Indonesia during the 1998 riots. The discrimination and violence caused an identity crisis in Tionghoa women. The identity that is built is a blurred identity caused by socio-political conditions. The form of identity crisis described in this novel is the downturn, fear, and alienation of women from the social life they live. Despite being a victim of harassment and violence, the character Lily is a Chinese woman who survives and tries to continue to rise in the face of various conflicts as a discriminated ethnicity. Introduction: Hearing is essential to learn language and speech and to develop cognitive skills. According to World Health Organisation (WHO), world-wide approximately 350 million people have hearing disorder. The performance of some moderately severe hearing-impaired adults and children using hearing aids is poorer than that of even profoundly hearingimpaired individuals using cochlear implants with advanced speech processing strategies. Aim: To find out the appropriate candidates in need of cochlear implantation in Prayagraj district of Uttar Pradesh, India. Materials and Methods: This cross-sectional study was conducted on hearing impaired patients attending Ear Nose Throat (ENT) Out Patient Department (OPD) of tertiary health care center in Prayagraj Uttar Pradesh from August 2011 to July 2012. The study population consisted of 95 patients categorised into four groups (pre-lingual children and adults, post-lingual children and adults) who presented with the chief complaints of impaired hearing and delayed speech. A detailed history, clinical and other relevant systemic examination and investigations were done. Patients were subjected to free field audiometry, pure tone audiometry and Brainstem-Evoked Response Audiometry (BERA) for assessment of hearing threshold level. Patients used hearing aid for six months and after hearing aid use, their hearing threshold and speech discrimination scores were estimated. Patients, whose aided score on open-set sentence test was less than 50%, were selected as candidate for cochlear implants, as they were not significantly benefited by hearing aids. Results: Out of the 95 cases, 48 were found to be suitable for cochlear implantation, which formed 50.5% of the study group. Pre-lingual hearing impaired adults had the highest percentage i.e., 86.7%, fulfilling the criteria for cochlear implantation followed by pre-lingual children, in whom 46.7% fell in this category. A 26.7% of postlingual children and 20% of postlingual adults were found suitable for cochlear implantation. Conclusion: The pre-lingual hearing impaired children and adults are more in need for cochlear implantation than the postlingual hearing-impaired children and adults. Breast cancer is one of the leading causes of death in cancer categories, followed by lung, colorectal, and ovarian among the female gender across the world. 10H‐3,6‐diazaphenothiazine (PTZ) is a thiazine derivative compound that exhibits many pharmacological activities. Herein, we proceed to investigate the pharmacological activities of PTZ toward breast cancer MCF‐7 cells as a representative in vitro breast cancer cell model. The PTZ exhibited a proliferation inhibition (IC50 = 0.895 µM) toward MCF‐7 cells. Further, cell cycle analysis illustrated that the S‐phase checkpoint was activated to achieve proliferation inhibition. In vitro cytotoxicity test on three normal cell lines (HEK293 normal kidney cells, MCF‐10A normal breast cells, and H9C2 normal heart cells) demonstrated that PTZ was more potent toward cancer cells. Increase in the levels of reactive oxygen species results in polarization of mitochondrial membrane potential (ΔΨm), together with suppression of mitochondrial thioredoxin reductase enzymatic activity suggested that PTZ induced oxidative damages toward mitochondria and contributed to improved drug efficacy toward treatment. The RT2 PCR Profiler Array (human apoptosis pathways) proved that PTZ induced cell death via mitochondria‐dependent and cell death receptor‐dependent pathways, through a series of modulation of caspases, and the respective morphology of apoptosis was observed. Mechanistic studies of apoptosis suggested that PTZ inhibited AKT1 pathways resulting in enhanced drug efficacy despite it preventing invasion of cancer cells. These results showed the effectiveness of PTZ in initiation of apoptosis, programmed cell death, toward highly chemoresistant MCF‐7 cells, thus suggesting its potential as a chemotherapeutic drug. Three-dimensional analyses of the pore structure of building materials are becoming progressively more important in recent years. The main goal is to obtain more accurate interpretations and simulations of their properties and performances. Computed tomography has proven to be an excellent and versatile tool to perform these analyses non-destructively. The reconstruction of the pore structure is of high importance for establishing accurate models, as it plays a crucial role in determining important characteristics of building materials such as their hygrothermal, mechanical, or acoustic properties. These models allow us to better understand the results of corresponding laboratory tests and in the near future might replace these time-consuming experiments. This research aimed to test the influence of leverage, density of fixed assets, and independent commissioners on Effective Tax Rate in manufacturing companies listed on Indonesia Stock Exchange year 2011-2015. Purposive sampling technique was utilized to select the study's sample and 42 companies were taken for a total 210 data observation. Multiple linear regression analysis is employed to test the hypotheses within this research. The results of this study indicated that leverage, density of fixed assets, and independent commissioners simultaneously influence ETR. Partially, the result showed that leverage and independent commissioners do not affect ETR. Meanwhile, density of fixed assets had a negative effect on ETR. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

• Botulism is a form of paralysis caused by a neurotoxin from the bacterium Clostridium botulinum ; wound botulism rarely occurs. • We present a very rare case of wound botulism in an infant, possibly associated with the application of medical-grade honey. • In this case there was a high association of honey consumption and botulism; the importance of honey in topical wound care is questionable. • We review the dilemma regarding the difficulty of confirmation and achieving the diagnosis. Botulism is a form of paralysis caused by a neurotoxin produced by the bacterium Clostridium botulinum. It is well known that natural honey contains Clostridium botulinum spores; controversy arises when a honey-related product is being used for wound care, where the possibility occurs of applying these spores to an open wound. To our knowledge, no reported cases of medical-grade honey have been associated with wound botulism. Given this fact, do we feel secure regarding the safety of this product, and will it be enough to alleviate our concern? We present a case of an infant with an infected umbilical stump, which required a surgical wound debridement. This infant developed a sudden progressive flaccid paralysis a few days after the application of topical medical grade honey for wound care. Even though suspicion of wound botulism is high, confirmation of the diagnosis, detection of neurotoxin, and isolating the organism remains a challenge. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

- Of 238 infertile males seen over a 47-month period, 47 (20%) had a varicocele. Of these 51% had an abnormal sperm count (21% were azoospermic and 30%oligozoospermic) and 60% had less than a third of sperms motile; 23 patients were subjected to gonadotrophin assays. Serum follicle stimulating hormone and leutinising hormone levels were elevated in 48% and 70% of patients respectively. Serum prolactin assayed in 19 patients was raised in 10% and serum testosterone estimated in 16 patients was low in 6%. Twenty-five patients (53%) were advised to undergo surgery but only 10 agreed. Of these, 1 showed a dramatic improvement in his spermiogram and a pregnancy ensued. The sperm count and motility of 2 others improved after treatment with prostaglandin synthetase inhibitors, and 1 after testosterone. Medical treatment improved the count and motility in 7 of 8 patients in whom surgery was not suggested as primary treatment because of abnormal hormonal results. This study has shown that infertile patients with varicocele are a heterogeneous group and that improvement in spermiograms can best be achieved by selective treatment; this may be surgery, surgery followed by medical treatment, or medical treatment alone. Breast cancer is the second most cause of mortality among women worldwide due to the uncontrolled proliferation of tumor cells in the mammary epithelial tissues. The silver nanoparticles were formulated from the Abies spectabilis leaf (AS-AgNPs) and characterized by various practices like UV-vis spectroscopy, FTIR, SEM, and XRD. The in vitro anticancer potential of fabricated AS-AgNPs against the MCF-7 cells were analyzed. The MTT test was executed to investigate the cytotoxic nature of fabricated AS-AgNPs against MCF-7 cells. The magnitudes of ROS accumulation and MMP level in the AS-AgNPs supplemented MCF-7 cells were studied using fluorescent staining techniques. Caspase activities were studied using assay kits. The contents of oxidative stress and antioxidant biomarker (TBARS, SOD, CAT, and GSH) levels were scrutinized by standard methods. The expressions of apoptotic markers like Bax and Bcl-2 in the AS-AgNPs administered MCF-7 cells were detected by RT-PCR assay. The MTT findings showed that both extract and fabricated AS-AgNPs remarkably decreased the MCF-7 cells. Nonetheless, both plant extract and AS-AgNPs did not affect the cell viability of MCF-10A cells. Furthermore, the fabricated AS-AgNPs improved the ROS accumulation, and depleted the MMP status in the MCF-7 cells. AS-AgNPs administered MCF-7 cells demonstrated the improved TBARS content and depleted antioxidants. The treatment with AS-AgNPs considerably elevated the caspase-9 and -3 activities and Bax expression, while decreasing the Bcl-2 expression in MCF-7 cells. Hence the current investigation reports that the formulated AS-AgNPs exhibited remarkable in vitro anticancer action against MCF-7 cells through increased ROS, oxidative stress, and apoptotic protein expression. The fabricated AS-AgNPs could be a possible anticancer remedy in the future.
