The article presents a profile of the restoration work performed on the Virginia & Truckee Railway motorcar No. 22 in 2010. Details are given reviewing the history of the company and its railroad car designs under the leadership of William Riley McKeen, Jr. in the first half of the 20th-century. The history of an individual car which was built and used in the 1920s is given, outlining the restoration work needed to bring it back to operation with as many original parts as possible. Description is also given noting the specifications and design strategy surrounding the car.
