This study is focused on conceptual paper and the purpose of this study is to conduct an empirical investigation into the Malaysian Preschool institutions, focusing on measuring their technical efficiency and productivity changes. This study is to examine the nature of productivity changes by means of bootstrapped Malmquist TFP indices. The study use a Three-year set of panel data (2009-2012) for analyzing the performance of 8307 KEMAS Preschools classes during the implementation of the (Government Transformation Program) GTP 1.0. The study considered all KEMAS Preschools classes operating in the sector. The input and output data were manually extracted from the Malaysia's Ministry of Rural and Regional Development (MRRD) and all KEMAS Preschools. Non-parametric DEA models are employed to estimate efficiency and productivity changes of the institutions. Thus, this study is expected makes significant contributions to the literature of efficiency and productivity changes in Early Childhood Care and education institutions.

Waqf development in Malaysia benefits the economy and society, mostly in terms of facilities, education, investment, and others. Due to the massive development of the waqf industry, digitalization is deemed as a facilitative instrument in the operation of waqf. With the usage of digital platforms, the collection of waqf funds becomes more efficient and widely dispersed among Muslims. In this context, blockchain has become a new phenomenon, functioning as a ground-breaking innovation connected to bitcoin. The core idea behind a blockchain is that its users can access the ledger independently of a third party. Additionally, the blockchain counts all network nodes equally, taking human and computer communication into account without any special treatment or discrimination. Without realizing it, several waqf institutions have already applied this approach using their own platform. Therefore, this study aims to systematically review the potential application of blockchain in waqf institutions by referring to previous applications in other countries in the Middle East and Asia such as Oman, Bahrain, United Arab Emirates, Singapore, Indonesia, and Malaysia. Methodology wise, this paper employs the Systematic Literature Review which consists of the processes of identification in evaluation of the data from September 2022 until October 2022 by using related keywords to study. Secondly, is screening process which entails the process of choosing articles based on inclusion and exclusion criteria. This study screened all the 49 selected articles by choosing the criteria for articles selection which is done automatically based on the sorting function available in the database. Thirdly, eligibility which the authors manually monitored the retrieved articles to ensure all the remaining articles (after the screening process) are in line with the criteria. Lastly, the quality appraisal which to ensure that the substance of the articles was of high quality. The findings are important for waqf institutions to realize the potential benefit of blockchain in improving the efficiency of waqf operations towards attaining sustainable socio-economic development. The purpose of this study is to examine the critical success factors of sustainable manufacturing practices (SMPs) in Malaysian automotive industry. The questionnaires were designed and distributed to the 50 respondents. The pilot study sample consists of 26 respondents from 50 questionnaires, with an average response rate of 52%. The results of reliability analysis show that social responsibility is critical factor influencing the direct SMPs implementation success. By implementing SMPs in Malaysian automotive industry, it can assist company to improve the quality of management. Thus, this study recommends that the future research explore the influence of SMPs on sustainable performance in Malaysian automotive industry. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This study investigates the effect of customer–brand relationship investments' dimensions on customer engagement. To test the proposed framework, this research adopted the positivist, deductive, and quantitative approach. Structural equation modeling (SEM) analysis was performed to analyze the data, which gathered from a quota sample of 600 Malaysian mobile phone customers using the drop-off survey method. The findings reveal that customer intrinsic investment (CII), customer extrinsic investments (CEI), and brand social investment (BSI) significantly induce customer engagement (CE). This study is one of the first to explicitly examine the effects of the customer–brand relationship investments' dimensions and provide empirical evidence on the effect on customer engagement. This study concentrates on customers' perceptions of their relationship with mobile phone brands in the Malaysian context. Accordingly, this study provides useful insight for companies in emerging countries on how to enhance customer engagement towards a brand and consequently establish a strong customer–brand relationship. In the world of information technology, business process requires a decision-making tool that is effective and systematic in measuring and assessing the current performance of the organization and enhances its competitive edge. In this study, the development of strategic balanced scorecard tool (SBST) for the Malaysian automotive industry was developed using the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) methodology, which involves building a hierarchy of SBST, calculating relative weights of SBST by pairwise comparison, rating SBST measures, calculating performance scores, and ranking companies based on their scores. Further to that, an Excel-based tool was developed for automating the calculation of SBST for automotive industry. These SBSTs contribute to assist practitioners to evaluate internal performance, vendor performance, and in decision-making process to select the suppliers or reward the best supplier. Automotive industry is one of the most active industries involved in the quality effort, low production cost, and continuous improvement activities. Today, lean six sigma (LSS) is integrated with strategic control system that has assisted organizations to achieve better organizational performance through high-level continuous improvement activity and better saving in terms of operation and quality cost. Analytic hierarchy process methodology was used in developing a tool of lean six sigma performance improvement to measure the performance of automotive companies. This tool was developed using a system based on Excel. Five case studies were prepared to validate this tool. The result of these case studies suggested that this tool was timely and suitable to determine organizational performance of automotive companies. This study explores the financial fund performance of mosque institution throughout Perak. Information related to mosque financial fund is vital to be studied as it is an institution responsible for development of Islam in the society. With resources from contributions and donations from various parties, mosque institution is believed to be able to carry out this trusted duty and responsibility. For the purpose of this study, questionnaires were administrated to 617 representatives of mosques in Perak. However, only 357 have responded. The findings show that mosque institution in Perak has a considerable amount of financial fund from both cash deposit as well as owned assets. It is found that the institutions' cash deposit in bank as at December 2011 amounting to RM8.5 million. This situation indirectly indicates that the mosque institution should be more active and progressive in giving greater spillover impact to Muslim society in contributing to the development of Perak. Purpose – The objective of this paper is to explore the critical success factors (CSFs) for Lean Six Sigma (LSS) in the Malaysian automotive industry. Design/methodology/approach – Structural equation modeling (SEM) was employed to test the model drawing on a sample of 252 Malaysian automotive organisations. Exploratory factor analyses (EFA), confirmatory factor analysis (CFA), and reliability analysis empirically verified and validated the underlying items of CSFs of LSS. Findings – The results of EFA, CFA, and reliability analysis show that two items for supplier relationship are recommended to be excluded from the analysis. The result indicates that LSS has identified 40 items as compared to the original questionnaire which had 42 items. Based on the survey of empirical data, the two factors of leadership and customer focus have been shown to be the extremely important factors for LSS implementation in the Malaysian automotive industry. Research limitations/implications – Firstly, this survey is based only on the automotive industry in Malaysia, and therefore it is not generalisable to other industries. Secondly, there may be other CSFs for LSS such as culture change, project management skill, and employee involvement, which were not included in this study. Finally, for future research agenda, the authors are looking at the structural relationship between LSS practices and organizational performance in the Malaysian automotive industry. Originality/value – The developed and tested content of this study fills the research gap by providing reliable and useful reference material on the CSFs of LSS. On top of that, the contribution for academic researchers and practitioners is to provide important guidelines for automotive and related companies to implement LSS strategic practices to improve organizational performance.
