Objective: This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of mindfulness skills training on improving extramarital relationships by emphasizing the mediating role of emotional schemas in married students of Zahedan universities. Methods: The research method in this research was quasi-experimental, and the data collection tool was two standard questionnaires, Glass (1988) and Leahy (2000). The data analysis tools in this study were SPSS and AMOS statistical software. Due to the method and nature of the hypotheses of this study, the combined covariance test with repeated measures (GLMRM) was used for the effectiveness of the mindfulness skills, and regression models with hidden variable were used to evaluate the mediation effect of emotional schemas. The statistical population of this study includes married students of Zahedan universities in 2019-2020. The sample size in this study was forty people who were divided into two groups (one control and one experimental group of twenty people). The sampling method was simple random sampling. Results: According to the results of this study, with a 95% confidence level (p<0.05), mindfulness skills training is effective in improving extramarital relationships and emotional schemas, and emotional schemas have a minor mediating role in the relationship between mindfulness skills and extramarital relationships. Conclusions: The findings aid family psychologists in effectively addressing the challenges presented by extramarital relationships within couples. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

- Abstract
Background and Objectives: One of the most modern addictive behaviors is the phenomenon of Internet addiction, which is associated with criteria, such as withdrawal, depression, loneliness, and anxiety. This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of stress-based mindfulness therapy on the students' feelings of loneliness and Internet addiction. Materials and Methods: This quasi-experimental study was conducted based on a pretest-posttest design with a control group. The statistical population of the study included all male high school students in Birjand in 2020-21. In total, 40 eligible individuals were selected by convenience sampling method and randomly divided into two groups of experimental (n=20) and control (n=20). The experimental group participated in eight sessions of mindfulness therapy training based on Kabat Zayn stress reduction. On the other hand, the control group did not receive any intervention. Data collection tools included the Russell et al. and Young Internet Addiction Questionnaire. The obtained data were then analyzed using mean±SD, multivariate, and univariate analysis of covariance at the significance level of α=0.05. Results: The results showed that stress-based mindfulness therapy significantly reduced the students' feelings of loneliness and Internet addiction (P<0.001). Conclusions: According to the results of the study, stress-based mindfulness therapy can be used as a complementary therapy along with other therapies to improve loneliness and reduce students' Internet addiction. INTERNET addiction in adolescence , *PERSONALITY , *HAPPINESS in youth , *NEUROTICISM , *CONSCIENTIOUSNESS - Abstract
Introduction: This study aimed to develop a mediating model of internet addiction disorder, the amount of happiness and personality characteristics. Materials and Methods: This study is a correlational and the statistical population included all students of Ferdowsi University of Mashhad in the academic year of 2015-2016. 384 students were selected using stratified random sampling based on Krejcie and Morgan Table. They completed the Internet Addiction Test (IAT), the NEO personality questionnaires (NEO) and the Oxford Happiness Inventory (OHI) as well as a demographic information checklist. Data were analyzed using statistical methods, descriptive statistics and path analysis. Results: Findings indicated that the first model was not sufficiently fitted, so the modified model showed a better fit with the data (CFI=0.99, AGFI=0.97, GFI =0.99, RSMEA= 0.02, χ2/df= 1.15). In this model, it was found that among NEO Five-Factor personality traits, neuroticism had a significant correlation with the Internet addiction (R=0.18). In addition, among personality traits, neuroticism had a significant correlation with the Internet addiction, and a significant negative relationship between conscientiousness and the internet addiction was obtained (R= -13, P<0.05). Conclusion: According to the findings, a structural analysis of personality variables, and happiness showed a clearer picture of the relationship between psychological structures and addiction to the Internet. Obsessive-compulsive and sleep disorders are among the most common disorders in general population and therefore aim of present study was to determine role of personality traits in predicting obsessive-compulsive disorder and sleep quality among dormitory students. The participants included 277 university students that were selected randomly. Goldberg big five personality inventory-short form, maudsley obsessivecompulsive inventory, and pittsburgh sleep quality index were used to collect data. The results indicated positive relationship between neuroticism and high obsessive-compulsive disorder among university students and openness, agreeableness, and conscientiousness were correlated with low obsessivecompulsive disorder. Additionally, neuroticism was related to low sleep quality and conscientiousness, openness, agreeableness and extraversion were correlated with high sleep quality among university students. In continue, results of stepwise regression analysis revealed that neuroticism, openness, extraversions and agreeableness altogether predicted 0.53 of the variance in obsessive-compulsive disorder and conscientiousness, openness, and extraversion altogether predicted 0.54 of the variance in sleep quality among university students living in dormitories. The results obtained from the present study demonstrated that personality traits play a significant role in determining obsessivecompulsive disorder and sleep quality among university students. - Abstract
Background: In the present era, delinquency in children and adolescents is undoubtedly a difficult and upsetting issue attracting the attention of many experts such as psychologists, sociologists, and criminologists. These experts often try to answer why a number of children and adolescents engage in various crimes such as aggressive and anti-social crimes. They also try to find out how these crimes can be prevented., Objectives: The present study investigates the effectiveness of mindfulness-based cognitive therapy training (MBCT) in reducing aggression in a juvenile correction and rehabilitation center of Zahedan province during years 1991 to 1992., Materials and Methods: This experimental study included an experimental and a control group with a pretest, posttest, and follow-up approach. The Buss and Perry aggression questionnaire (1992) was used for data collection. The sample group included 22 (10 experimental and 12 control groups) adolescent males in a juvenile correction and rehabilitation center of Zahedan province who were selected through a census method. Using a matching method based on the pre-test scores of the aggression questionnaire, they were then divided into two equivalent categories and were randomly assigned to the two groups. Mindfulness-based cognitive training took the group training in 8 sessions administered on experimental group. The follow-up test was conducted two weeks after the end of the posttest sessions. The results were analyzed using ANCOVA., Results: The results of ANCOVA showed that mindfulness-based cognitive training could significantly reduce aggression during posttest and follow-up test phases in the experimental group, compared to the control group (P < 0.01). Moreover, the results indicated the effectiveness of this method in significantly reducing anger, physical aggression, and hostility during posttest and follow-up test phases (P < 0.05). However, no significant reduction was observed in the verbal aggression subscale., Conclusions: According to the results of the present study, mindfulness-based cognitive training seems to be effective for reducing aggressive behaviors.
