Porous titanium was prepared by metal injection molding (MIM) and high vacuum sintering using polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) particles as pore forming agent and polyformaldehyde (POM) as main binder. The effects of PMMA and sintering temperature on the pore characteristics of porous titanium were investigated in detail. The results showed that PMMA particles are melted and mixed with organic binder together and lose their original particle characteristics (particle size and shape) during kneading. In the process of thermal debinding, PMMA decompose before high-density polyethylene (HDPE) in the temperature range of 350～420 ℃, which play the role of pore formation, but the shape of pores was irregular and the pore sizes are much smaller than the original PMMA particle sizes. In the sintering temperature range of 1100～1250 ℃, the opening porosity and pore sizes of porous titanium decrease with increasing of sintering temperature. When the sintering temperature is 1150～1200 ℃, the opening porosity of porous titanium is 34%～35%, and the pore size is about 9.1 μm.

The CRISPR/Cas9 system, originally derived from the prokaryotic adaptive immune system, has been developed as efficient genome editing tools. It enables precise gene manipulation on chromosomal DNA through the specific binding of programmable sgRNA to target DNA, and the Cas9 protein, which has endonuclease activity, will cut a double strand break at specific locus. However, Cas9 is a foreign protein in mammalian cells, and the potential risks associated with its introduction into mammalian cells are not fully understood. In this study, we performed pull-down and mass spectrometry (MS) analysis of Streptococcus pyogenes Cas9 (SpyCas9) interacting proteins in HEK293T cells and showed that the majority of Cas9-associated proteins identified by MS were localized in the nucleolus. Interestingly, we further discovered that the Cas9 protein contains a sequence encoding a nucleolus detention signal (NoDS). Compared with wild-type (WT) Cas9, NoDS-mutated variants of Cas9 (mCas9) are less stable, although their gene editing activity is minimally affected. Overexpression of WT Cas9, but not mCas9, causes general effects on transcription and protein translation in the host cell. Overall, identification of NoDS in Cas9 will improve the understanding of Cas9's biological function in vivo, and the removal of NoDS in Cas9 may enhance its safety for future clinical use.

This study investigated the effectiveness of virtual reality (VR) technology in table tennis education compared to traditional training methods. A 12-week randomized controlled trial was conducted with 120 participants divided equally between VR and traditional training groups. Performance metrics, learning motivation, and satisfaction were assessed at regular intervals. Results demonstrated significant advantages of VR training, with the VR group showing superior improvements in serve accuracy (23.5% vs. 15.8%, p < 0.001), rally endurance (an increase of 8.2 vs. 5.7 shots, p < 0.01), and overall skill scores (18.7 vs. 13.2 points improvement, p < 0.001). The VR group also exhibited higher increases in learning motivation (23.5% vs. 12.8%, p < 0.001) and satisfaction (31.5% vs. 18.7%, p < 0.001). Subgroup analysis revealed particular benefits for novice players and younger participants. These findings suggest that VR technology offers a promising approach to enhance table tennis education, potentially revolutionizing sports training methodologies. Lipid oxidation and hypoxia can lead to oxidative damage in aquatic animals. This study explored the effects of Scoparia dulcis extracts (SDE) on lipid oxidation, fish growth performance, digestive ability, antioxidant capacity, and hypoxia tolerance ability. The results showed that SDE decreased malonaldehyde (MDA), conjugated diene (CD), and peroxide value (PO) in the linoleic acid and linolenic acid as well as in fish feed. Broken-line analysis revealed that the optimal acetone extract of S. dulcis (AE) supplements was 4.02, 4.01, and 4.01 g kg−1 determined from PO, CD, and MDA, respectively. Dietary AE supplementation increased feed intake and specific growth rate and activities of amylase, trypsin, and lipase as well as alkaline phosphatase in fish hepatopancreas and gut. Polynomial regression analysis showed that optimal dietary AE supplement was 3.61 g kg−1 diet determined from weight gain. Furthermore, dietary AE supplementation decreased MDA content and increased glutathione content and the activities of glutathione peroxidase, catalase, superoxide dismutase, and glutathione reductase in fish digestive organs, gills, erythrocytes, and muscle. Dietary AE supplementation increased durative time (DT) and oxygen consumption rate (OCR) under hypoxia condition. Based on polynomial regression analysis, optimal dietary AE supplements were 4.73 and 4.60 g kg−1 diet determined from DT and OCR for hypoxia tolerance in fish, respectively. This research proposes a strategy to diagnose open-phase faults (OPF) and open-switching faults (OSF) in dual three-phase permanent magnet synchronous motor (DTP-PMSM) inverters. The method is based on the dual d–q predictive current model and involves establishing a mathematical model and utilizing the finite control set model predictive current extraction technique to predict the motor current. It then analyzes the characteristics of the switching-tube current under both normal and fault conditions. Finally, a fault predictive current model is introduced and the residual is calculated based on the predicted fault current value and the actual measured current value to diagnose the inverter fault. The proposed method effectively overcomes misjudgment issues encountered in traditional open-circuit fault diagnosis of inverters. It enhances the system's response speed during dynamic processes and strengthens the robustness of diagnosis algorithm parameters. The experimental results demonstrate that the proposed method can rapidly, effectively, and accurately diagnose open-circuit faults presented in this paper fastest within one-fifth of a current cycle. It achieves a diagnostic accuracy rate of 97% in the dual three-phase permanent magnet synchronous motor drive system. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The relatively poor mechanical properties of extruded modified double base (EMDB) propellants limit their range of applications. To overcome these drawbacks, a novel method was proposed to introduce glycidyl azide polymer-based energetic thermoplastic elastomers (GAP-ETPE) with bonding groups into the propellant adhesive. The influence of the molecular structure of three kinds of elastomers on the mechanical properties of the resultant propellant was analyzed. It was found that the mechanical properties of the propellant with 3% CBA-ETPE (a type of GAP-ETPE that features chain extensions using N-(2-Cyanoethyl) diethanolamine and 1,4-butanediol) were improved at both 50 °C and −40 °C compared to a control propellant without GAP-ETPE. The elongation and impact strength of the propellant at −40 °C were 7.49% and 6.58 MPa, respectively, while the impact strength and maximum tensile strength of the propellant at 50 °C reached 21.1 MPa and 1.19 MPa, respectively. In addition, all three types of GAP-ETPE improved the safety of EMDB propellants. The friction sensitivity of the propellant with 3% CBA-ETPE was found to be 0%, and its characteristic drop height H50 was found to be 39.0 cm; 126% higher than the traditional EMDB propellant.
