Mental health organizations that serve youth are under pressure to adopt measurement-based care (MBC), defined as the continuous collection of client-report data used to support clinical decision making as part of standard care. However, few frameworks exist to help leadership ascertain how to select an MBC approach for a clinical setting. This paper seeks to define how an MBC approach can display clinical utility to provide such a framework. Broadly, we define clinical utility as evidence that an MBC approach assists stakeholders in fulfilling clinical goals related to care quality (i.e., improve client clinician alliance and clinical outcomes) at the client (i.e., youth and caregiver), clinician, supervisor, and administrator levels. More specifically, our definition of clinical utility is divided into two categories relevant to the usability and usefulness of an MBC approach for a specific setting: (a) implementability (i.e., evidence indicating ease of use in a clinical setting) and (b) usefulness in aiding clinical activities (i.e., evidence indicating the potential to improve communication and make clinical activities related to care quality easier or more effective). These categories provide valuable information about how easy an MBC approach is to use and the potential benefits that the MBC data will confer. To detail how we arrived at this definition, we review prior definitions of clinical utility, discuss how previous definitions inform our definition of clinical utility for MBC, and provide examples of how the concept of clinical utility can be applied to MBC. We finish with a discussion of future research directions.

The purpose of this paper is to examine the issues of plagiarism and academic integrity as they are covered by universities and to then identify the existence of legislation that would impose legal consequences. Accordingly, this paper adopts a legal approach to critical analysis and discourse in the examination of the issues and the appropriate legislation.

As the use of coaching in organizations continues to grow, managers are increasingly expected to coach their subordinates. However, the development of managerial coaching skills has generally not kept up with organizational desires and needs. We offer a role-play methodology with two scenarios for teaching coaching mindset and related skills. The remedial coaching scenario offers an opportunity to practice coaching an employee on a performance issue or problem. The developmental coaching scenario provides an opportunity for the person being coached to choose a topic to further professional development. The role-plays use a trio format, which has the distinctive benefit of actively involving all members of the class. Each participant takes a turn playing each of the roles of coach, employee, and observer. The observer/feedback giver role enables each student to receive personal feedback. The exercise can be conducted in both in-person and online class formats.

"Thinking like a lawyer" is traditionally associated with rational-analytical problem solving and an adversarial approach to conflict. These features have been correlated with problems of psychological, or emotional, distress amongst lawyers and law students. These problems provide a strong argument for incorporating a consideration of emotion into legal education. How to achieve this is a challenge for legal educators. Addressing that challenge, it is argued that emotional intelligence (EI) provides an existing and useful conceptual framework for acknowledging and incorporating emotion into legal education and practice. Advantages in adopting EI are argued. Goleman's model of EI is identified as the most readily accessible model for EI in law. Goleman's model is adapted and applied to clinical legal education as an optimal site for introducing law students to EI.

The essay discusses the impact of Todd Gitlin's book, "The Whole World is Watching: Mass Media in the Making and Unmaking of the New Left," on how we think about and teach the influence of mainstream media on progressive social movements. This article investigates processes of engagement in social pretend play between children with autism (age range 3.6 to 7.2 years) and adult play partners, using a large corpus of conversational data. We take a qualitative discourse analytic approach to investigate the metacommunicative strategies used by the children. Our initial framework for exploring these issues is Giffin's (1984) model of verbal and nonverbal metacommunication in sociodramatic pretend play, and we develop this model further by proposing a cline of engagement along which we situate the children in our study. We found that, while all the children do participate in pretend play, and engage with the adult play partners to at least some extent, the children vary in the range of metacommunicative strategies they use, and in the degree to which they negotiate the creation of play sequences with their interlocutor. Furthermore, even for the most competent children, the metacommunication exhibits atypical characteristics. (Contains 2 tables and 2 figures.)

Purpose: The purpose of this paper is to propose a paradigm shift for assessing the underlying issues pertaining to the legal concerns of Corporate Manslaughter caused ostensibly by management and executives. Where the causes can be traced to either direct involvement of individuals or corporate culture. Method: The paper deals with the arguments for and against the need for this special legislation compared to the existing Occupational Health and Safety legislation. The issue of narcissistic corporations and psychopaths in the executive positions are also raised. Implications: The paper provides a general argument for consideration of Amending the Corporations Act (a Federal legislation) to encompass Corporate Manslaughter within the Regulations. The argument hinges on the notion that it should extend beyond the coverage of mere Occupational Health and Safety legislation. In essence the argument is that a paradigm shift is called for when considering Corporate Manslaughter in order to implement charges against managers and directors of a corporation. Further the Corporations Act already provides a clearer set of guidelines for allocating responsibility within an organisation thus overcoming the problems faced with allocating blame under the Crimes Act of any of the States or Territories - in effect this suggested amendment would be more aligned with the nuances of corporations.
