The development of IoT applications generally relies on centralized architectures, whether they use solutions based on cloud or on premises environments, usually operated by a single entity. However, recent technologies and the increasing number of interconnected intelligent devices are driving new approaches, the essential requirements being scalability and fault-tolerance. This work studies an alternative concept based on a decentralized architecture useful in several scenarios and focuses on available technologies for potential practical implementations.

This work addresses the issue of the accuracy with which the stator end winding inductance of A.C. machines is determined in the design stage. Only two-layer windings having a shortened pitch are treated in this paper. The end winding inductance was calculated by determining the distribution of the magnetic field, performing numerical analyses based on finite elements method (FEM).The manner of how the inductances are determined using the analysis results is described in the paper. For validating the procedure, comparisons between FEM results and laboratory tests were performed in case of one of the studied machine. There is a very good correlation between the results. Then, a comparative FEM-Analytical study was carried out. Own program was used to design and build the models necessary in the study. Based on about 130 models, some important conclusions have been depicted.

We present an invention (pending patent number A 201100939) related to a system that monitors human body parameters, such as heart rate and blood pressure, and when they are out of the regular range, it transmits a remote warning signal along with the GPS coordinates of the patient to the special intervention services, or to the tutors, so that they can take action in the shortest time. The most important aspect of the system is its mobility, the patient being able to live her normal life, not having to stay in a fix perimeter, as it is the case for most monitoring equipments. The scope of the invention is the health of people, both individually and at the institutions involved in health insurance, such as clinics, hospitals, emergency services, rescue, SMURD, social settlements, etc.
