This study focuses on the development and assessment of advanced construction materials, such as a unique slab design, longitudinal void configurations, and profiled steel deck. The aim was to improve the efficiency of constructing reinforced composite buildings and enhance their visual attractiveness. In order to evaluate the strength and efficiency of these new developments, we carried out a thorough examination utilizing ANSYS Workbench. Our study specifically concentrated on analyzing the failure characteristics of nine slabs that were supported in a simple manner. The study conducted a thorough comparison of different factors, including the shapes of the voids and profiled steel decks, the presence of embossments and nodes, and the type of concrete utilized (conventional and light-weight using Expanded Polystyrene (EPS) and Polypropylene fibers). Our results from a thorough flexural analysis showed that slabs containing oval-shaped voids demonstrated the best performance in terms of structural stability and efficiency. In addition, the profiled steel deck, which includes embossments and dimples, demonstrated exceptional performance as a result of the improved mechanical connection, which was further demonstrated in the LightcompvoidSteelslab. The results indicate that incorporating oval voids and embossed steel sheets into slab construction has the potential to greatly enhance the mechanical characteristics and construction efficiency of composite buildings. This study provides valuable knowledge on the design and utilization of sophisticated composite materials in the construction sector, which could potentially result in more environmentally friendly and economically efficient building methods. Improvement of the current construction of midrise to high-rise building in Surabaya relatively needs to be evaluated, especially for compact office building area, it is very challenging to have an optimal space to the structural system with facilitate a satisfactory capacity performance. This paper makes a comparative study of the effectivity of structural plate structure in the compact office building between conventional slab (M1), waffle slab (M2) and flat slab (M3). A typical 5-story reinforced concrete building structure is selected as a case study within 6 m symmetrically span for each model. The proposed method used in this study is based on empirical analysis followed by numerical evaluation using SAP2000. The step initiated by deriving an optimal alternative of various type of slab. This study aims to emphasize the benefits to the functionality of the structural system which more efficient in term of structural capacity and its performance. As the result, M1 and M3 offer a similar behaviour due to the reinforcement and design performance with high slab deformation compared to the M2. M2 present a lower slab deflection under the supported of waffle element with the result almost twice smaller than M1 and M3.

In this study, non-linear analysis is considered under the Evaluation and Design Based on Strain (ŞGDT) criteria specified in the regulation, of a high reinforced concrete structure with a height of 72 m according to the Turkish Building Earthquake Code (TBDY) 2018 under the Earthquake Design Class 1 (DTS) category. Considering the performance and structural behavior of different flooring types, comparisons were made. Within the same vertical support system, 4 different models, commonly used in reinforced concrete structures, consisting of conventional slab system, ribbed hardy slab system, flat slab system and non-modeled floor conventional slab system were considered. The same strength properties are included in the material selection of the concrete and reinforcement used for each building system. Inelastic strains obtained from the analyses were compared with each other and performance levels were determined according to different flooring types. As a result, in non-linear behavior analysis, it has been observed that modeling of slabs can change the element damage levels and building behavior, contributing to the horizontal in-plane rigidity of the building systems and causing more strain on the vertical elements. This paper deals with the analysis and design of high-rise buildings with post-tensioned slabs. The structure was analyzed and designed for a typical floor. Drawings and other specifications are studied with reference to National Building Code (NBC). Designing structures is a major aspect of Civil Engineering. In further development we use additives and plasticizers, etc. and the building materials change from day to day. In ancient times, buildings were built only from the first floor. i.e., an independent house. At present we are building with steel and more than 13 floors, due to scarcity of land, high price of land and urbanization etc. For the construction of high-rise buildings, we are now moving on to claims and post-tensioning methods. In ancient days materials such as lime, mud, kuchar and surhi etc. were used. Presently buildings are built with materials like cement, sand and steel in their improved forms. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
