Currently, the South African Basic Education Laws Amendment Bill (BELA) (Clause 37) replaces and adds provision to the South African Schools Act including regulating homeschooling. Home education research found that more and more parents appreciate/opt for the benefits of faith-based home-schooling, in this case, the Christian faith. The main reason is that since COVID-19, many Christian parents had the urge to preserve their Christian principles, Christian worldview, and quality education by opting for Christian faith-based homeschooling. This is a qualitative study and the purpose of this research was to determine which driving forces propel the choice of parents and their children to do homeschooling. The findings suggest that Christian faith-based homeschooling is a process facilitated by a triadic relationship consisting of the pastor, the parent/s, and the learner/s. In addition, based on the factors identified, their faith is paramount as they believe/think they are led by the Holy Spirit. Recommendations are offered regarding Christian faith-based homeschooling.

Cultivating a Christian worldview in Christian teachers is an important endeavor that must be pursued in Christian schools. This is related to how a Christian teacher applies integrating faith and learning in schools. The application of faith and learning requires a truly Christian worldview from a Christian teacher. The method used in this research is a case study in Christian schools in East Java and Papua, where efforts to develop a Christian worldview are a necessity during efforts to achieve integrated learning with the Christian faith. The results of the efforts to develop can be seen from the perception of Christian teachers who are increasingly sharp and understand holistically through a Christian worldview and understand the application of the integration of faith and learning in the context of Christian schools.

The purpose of this research was to describe lecturers’ practices of integrating a biblical Christian worldview in teaching courses in sociology, Indonesian language, art, and pedagogy (assessment and teaching and learning theories). The participants were the lecturers in one of the education faculties in Tangerang. The data were derived from interviews with five faculty members and collecting their course syllabus. Descriptive qualitative research with a case study approach was employed. The data were described and analyzed in the light of the current literature. The findings showed that those five faculty members have been implementing a biblical Christian worldview in their teaching with a pedagogy of transferring new information. This paper suggests faculty not use a biblical Christian worldview as just intellectual information with a goal of increasing head knowledge but rather use it to reorient students' hearts.

Cultural engagement is not an option but a duty. This article discusses the cultural mandate used to criticize the separation between sacred and secular. The cultural mandate will be explained through definitions and theological reviews found in various literature. Then, the author will show their critique of the separation between sacred and secular based on their understanding of the cultural mandate within the Christian worldview. This research article uses the library research method. This method will examine previous findings on the dualistic worldview and the cultural mandate from various literary sources such as books, academic journals, and online news with a narrative review approach. The result highlights the importance of understanding the cultural mandate within the cosmic context of the Bible's metanarrative (Creation-Fall-Redemption) as a strong foundation to reject this sacred and secular dualism. Every Christian needs to understand that they no longer need to live in a world that is separated between sacred and secular, but they can dedicate their entire life to Christ for the glory of God.

Business faculty at Christian colleges and universities are oftentimes challenged to teach from a Christian worldview. It can be difficult to teach from a Christian worldview without a structure or framework for doing so. This article will define a Christian worldview then offer a framework consisting of five questions that can be answered through a creation, fall, redemption, and restoration narrative for business faculty to employ in their respective disciplines. This article discusses our approach to the biblical account of creation. It argues that we tend to adopt a reductionist approach, connected to a scientific apologetic and to the desire to respond to certain scientific curiosities. It insists that such an approach does not do justice to the context of the narrative, arguing that it loses sight of its impacts on the Christian worldview and advancing an approach that takes into account such impacts, providing examples of its benefits. The given book is a collection of the main biographical materials devoted to the life and activity of the great Russian surgeon Nikolai Pirogov. The compilers of the collection tried to show the famous N. Pirogov from a poorly known side, unique materials were published showing the scientist as a religious thinker, philosopher and teacher. The book includes essays and articles by people of the “wonderful doctor’s” time – famous public figures, clergymen, theologians and philosophers who introduce the readers with N. Pirogov personality in the context of his religious and philosophical views. Among them it is necessary to mention A.F. Koni, S.L. Frank, Archpriest V.V. Zenkovsky, Archbishop John (Shahovskoy) and others. The collection was prepared under the editorship of Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Doctor of Medical Sciences Yuri Shevchenko (Archimandrite George). This outstanding cardiac surgeon of our days managed to present N. Pirogov as a deep Orthodox believer, philosopher and thinker moved in his professional activity by Christian virtue and high moral principles. From such point of view, the great Russian surgeon is studied in our modern science almost for the first time. Much material given in the publication was previously published only in pre-revolutionary Russia, having become a bibliographic rarity nowadays. The most important source for studying the philosophical and theological views of the scientist is N. Pirogov’s diary, a comprehensive analysis of which is given in the reviewed publication.

In his book, 2084: Artificial Intelligence and the Future of Humanity, John Lennox attempts to establish a biblical foundation for the two fundamental and existential problems of humanity, namely, where humans come from and where humans go. His book is divided into 13 chapters. Lennox devotes the first seven chapters to critiquing secular naturalists' responses to these two fundamental problems. He spends the following six chapters demonstrating how Christianity provides specific and more "sophisticated" solutions to the question of man's origin and purpose. Lennox also reminded us that the human goal to utilize technology to overcome natural constraints and become like God is a traditional ambition that has existed since the first human fell into sin. Furthermore, for the purpose of human development, it is frequently exploited as an alibi by a few people who actually desire to reign over nature and the lives of other humans. Lennox advises readers to continue paying attention to motivation and consider the ethical difficulties accompanying every technological advancement. This book is recommended for anyone interested in technological advancement and Christian worldviews.

This article aims to investigate the concept of cosmovision and ethics, aiming to present the correlation between the themes and applicability from a Christian perspective, as well as to analyze the concept of the Kingdom of God and the ethics that guide it. The fundamental question that will try to be answered will be: how is it possible to establish the Christian cosmovision and the ethics of the kingdom of God in the practical life of the people, having as a starting point "The Beatitudes". To better understand the arguments, theoretical contributions will be used Dodd (2010); Ladd (2003); Geisler (2008); Lloyd-Jones (2011); among others. The investigative methods that will outline the research construction process are the hypothetical-deductive methods. The problem raised by a concern needs to receive an answer, therefore, faced with several hypotheses, a possibility of understanding the question presented will be proposed. For this reason it is necessary to understand the terms cosmovision, ethics, kingdom of God and blessedness, from this understanding the individual seeks to base himself on a true worldview that leads him to hope for existence in the kingdom of God. This essay seeks to describe the origins and nature of the devotional practices in the events sponsored by Mackenzie Presbyterian Institute, show what biblical-theological considerations should support them, and point to the principles behind them. The author argues that such practices are an expression of Mackenzie's commitment to the Reformed Christian worldview, which can be described by the pattern Creation-Fall-Redemption. The Christian worldview expresses Christ's Sovereignty over all spheres of human existence, demonstrating Divine dominion over private and public life. In Romans 13: 1-7, Paul expounds the Christian perspective on civil government, providing an approach that recognizes the gospel dimension by redeeming even the citizen/state. Thus, the purpose of this work is to reflect on the message in Romans 13: 1-7, considering the Christian perspective on civil authorities, relating the people of God to the public challenges of a political nature. Through bibliographical research the main theological themes of the analyzed passage were presented, presenting its historical context, its relation with the message of the Lord and its actuality. In this study, the thoughts of celebrated New Testament scholars such as NT Wright, Willian Hendriksen, Adolf Pohl, among others, were considered to provide insights into Christ's Sovereignty over civil rulers and the need for church to influence the state with the principles of the Word of God. This essay describes an experience in the application of the Christian worldview to schoolbooks during a period in the history of the Mackenzie Teaching System (2011-2014). It presents two convictions that guided such application, some practical strategies that were adopted in its implementation, and the importance of a particular theoretical-philosophical framework in their preparation, i.e., reformational philosophy. Being aware of the subjective aspects and temporal limitations of this essay, the author does not intend to present a normative proposal, but a report that is both reflexive and instructional. His objective is to preserve a part of a creative process related to Christian education, offering reflections on the contextual questions and helping those involved in the challenge of applying the Christian worldview to the pedagogical activity. His creative word was devastated to protect the national dignity and pushed society to recovery and self-assertion to Ukrainians as a nation. But Shevchenko's essence, in our opinion, is the brightest and most powerful found themselves in search of truth, unity of man and the ways of eternal life. The social enslavement and corruption of nation were turn him to works that have intertwined national historic era of spiritual and moral values of Christian ethical Ukrainian canons. Peculiar interpretation, philosophical understanding and interpretation T. Shevchenko Biblical truths studied by many scientists (I. Ohiyenko, B. Lepkyj, Y. Sverstyuk, D. Stepovyk, I. Dziuba, M. But the problem of Shevchenko religious was as his life and work will remain relevant, especially in nowadays. Ukraine as "prophetic word" for Shevchenko had an impotent meaning and irresistible force, awakens the desire to be a real nation, and promotes spiritual and conscious development. Poet use to say to God all his global ideas, his excitement. And thiswas not a profanity, not a blasphemy. That was the sincerity and enthusiasm of the biblical heralds. Taras Shevchenko said patiently, defiantly, frankly, with bitterness and insult the Savior, then asked, then demanded with such words: "In anger he becomes a prophet, in humility transforms into as an apostle; it just goes to prayer, his humility holds in a feat of love and forgiveness, every feeling he brings to the religious fervor and in his every word. Let it be for the great national poet, priest and victim of its people", - wrote K. Chukovski . The theatrical mainstream in Europe always reflected the basic worldview of the society and the ruling ideology. After the Second World War and the establishment of domination of the secularist worldview in Europe, many of the genres are banished from the mainstream theatre (for example mistery plays) if they affirmed the Christian worldview and its values hierarchy (love, serving, obedience), and transmitting the Christian message (the world is ruled by a good God; there is a difference between good and evil; the hero has a free will; if the hero chooses wrong he has a possibility to correct his wrongdoings). In Croatia the process was further strengthened by the ruling openly atheistic ideology. From 1954 to 1990 the mainstream theatres showed in total 52 premiers of religious thematic written by Croatian authors, of which 45 were subversive towards the Christian worldview, mostly written programmatically against the faith and the Church. Those included ”old” Krleža's expressionist texts (Golgota, Adam i Eva), but also 13 new texts (R. Marinković's Glorija, S. Šnajder's Dumanske tišine, M. Matišić's Legenda o sv. Muhli. Some authors (N. Fabrio, M. Grgić, A. Šoljan, I. Supek, I. Bakmaz, I. Brešan) used the representation of the Catholic Church as a totalitarian institution which is destroying the rebellious heretics as a metaphoric critique of totalitarianism and unfree character of the communist society, but that does not belittle their subversion of Christian worldview as it is the only thing that remains after the end of the policies they were criticizing. In that 45 year the professional theatres showed only 7 plays affirmative of the Christian worldview. Those were exclusively the old plays previously showed at the summer festivals as a research of the Renaissance heritage, and they have been shown only from the end of the 1960s. Beyond the margins of the professional theatre, almost in the illegal setting, there was alive theatre of the amateur productions in Catholic parishes, where the old and the new plays were shown. The new ones were written by both priests (R. Kupareo, I. Peran, I. Zirdum, A. Marić, Š. Šito Ćorić) and laymen (K. Tičić, M. Nardelli, N. Škrabe). Those texts were played across the world because through their high-quality theatrical expression they affirmed Christian worldview and sent to the public the message that the world has a meaning because it is part of the God's plan, and that the happiness is not achieved by the selfish self-care, but by giving the love to others. This article asserts that early Church educators, like St. Cyril of Jerusalem, offer contemporary Christian educators theological and pedagogical insights and methods. It describes the trend of Christian education programs to teach a living relationship with a living Christ at a time when categorical, rational and empirical methods predominate in education. The Christian Commonwealth of Student Youth is a unique phenomenon in the life of the Orthodox Church in the early ХХ century. The article considers the prerequisites for the Commonwealth to emerge, its goals and objectives, its membership as well as its internal life and activity. Special attention is given to the efforts of helping youth in living out the Christian vocation through attaining the Christian worldview, spiritual communion and practical enchurchment of life. The analysis of the Commonwealth’s life and work led to the conclusion about the uniqueness of these ways of the holistic Christian education of young students.

Traditionally, the Ndebele people of Zimbabwe used to grieve silently and quietly around a corpse. Singing and dancing were considered to be taboo. However, recently this trend has shifted noticeably because of the growth of Christianity in Zimbabwe and more especially the growth of Pentecostal Churches. This paper examines how Christianity and its beliefs have shaped and influenced Ndebele perceptions of grieving and mourning the passing on of their loved ones. The Christian worldview and the Ndebele worldview regarding death and the afterlife differ greatly and funeral practises have inevitably brought these worldviews into contact with each other. The Ndebele people's culture of grieving ‘silently’ with singing and dancing being seen as unbefitting around a corpse, has shifted with the growth of Christianity in Zimbabwe and particularly in Pentecostalism. With the shifting of these perceptions, the Ndebele people have warmed up to the idea which was for a long time viewed as being foreign. The Christian Biblical view of life after death is in a way certain and hopeful while the Ndebele traditional religion view of death is shrouded in silence and mystery. The researcher observed that the assurance of a life in heaven for Christians has made them to view death as not an end, and they thus rejoice in knowing that their loved ones are in God’s hands. Because of the influence of Christianity, singing, clapping and dancing have become familiar occurrences in most funerals. Paradoxically, this atmosphere of ‘celebrating’ has also been extended to those who are not Christians.

The conception of the worldview is than applied to the thought of Czech writer, philosopher, pedagogue and theologist Jan Amos Komenský and especially to his Labyrint světa a ráj srdce (The labyrinth of the world and the paradise of the heart). Its present potential actuality is disputed. The work is interpreted also in the context of texts of contemporary Czech theologist Tomáš Halík.

This study explored Christian nurses' views of their source of caring (Deity or other), adherence to biblical faith practices, and view of nursing as a job, career, profession, or calling. Participants who reported Deity (God, Christ, Holy Spirit) as their source of caring were more likely to view nursing as a calling and report a higher degree of volunteering (serving), giving (financially to a religious community), devotions and prayer (personal walk), and fellowship (meeting with a community of other believers). How does nursing theory apply to nursing practice? Nursing theory can explain the why and how of nursing practice, guide nursing interventions, and provide a framework for measuring outcomes. This article briefly explains nursing theory, provides examples for applying theory to nursing practice, and proposes questions for examining the consistency of nursing theories with Christian perspectives. A helpful table illustrating grand, middle-range, and situation-specific theories and their application to nursing practice and research, along with references, is provided online as supplemental digital content. The Christian involvement in the public arena, especially in the area of politics, is the subject of constant discussion. Numerous issues are raised in this field, such as those related to man's ultimate purpose of glorifying God in every aspect of life. This article has in view to help Christians in the task of, from a Christian worldview, dialoguing with some of the main political ideologies of our time: liberalism, Marxism, conservatism, democracy, and nationalism. In order to achieve this purpose, the author initially relates the concepts of ideology and idolatry. Then, departing from the concept of idolatry, he analyzes the main political ideologies, which are organized in terms of the idols that stand in their altars: the individual, community, tradition, equality, and the State. Finally, two aspects are observed that bring together political ideologies, namely, the autonomous foundation and the search for satisfaction as an end, with the conclusion that the Christian must relate critically with the political ideologies. This study deals in an introductory way of integral education, from the perspective of education under a Christian worldview. The theoretical assumptions about an education that serves as a human being as a whole can be correlated with guiding principles of Christian education when it is proposed in the provider subsidies of a world view that contemplates all as dimensions of the human being as possible to be observed by Holy Scriptures. It is known that a church does not always consider this assertive, especially the Pentecostal movement in its general concern with teaching its doctrines as sufficient for its members. 'Is the devil on the loose?' New Testament perspectives on the struggle between Christ and Satan A brief summary of the views of Jesus, Paul and John regarding the struggle between Christ and Satan is first presented. This is followed by a discussion of the position of the followers of Jesus in this “eschatological” battle. Apart from modern theological epistemologies that interpret early Christian views regarding the struggle between Christ and Satan in terms of a primitive, mythical worldview, the metaphysical worldview of the New Testament is taken seriously in this article. It is argued that both God’s metaphysical involvement in history, as well as the reality of evil, must be taken into consideration if modern believing communities still want to lay claim to legitimately being part of the apostolic tradition. This, however, does not call for any fixation on evil in its various manifestations, but for a constant awareness of Christ’s eschatological victory over all opposing forces.

We explore how a biblically-based worldview influences managers' motivation when attempting to accommodate employees with disabilities. Three issues form the basis of this article: (a) whether the employee with a disability asks for accommodation; (b) the two-way street of responsibility for making accommodation work; and (c) socialization of accommodation via informed co-worker involvement. In covering these issues, we touch on concepts that include operational and administrative efficiency, servant leadership, legal compliance, paternalism, and co-worker relationships. Corruption is a worldwide problem. Authors do not only agree that it should be addressed at a personal level, but they encourage everyone to become involved in the fight against corruption. For this to happen, individual transformation is a prerequisite. In this article, Chipapata, Fátima and Jacinto’s personal stories will bear witness to the potential role of Christian Higher Education (CHE) in the moral and spiritual transformation of individuals in local African communities. These three persons were extra-mural students enrolled at Hefsiba in Mozambique. That the impact of these three persons’ studies goes beyond the personal level is seen in the community in which they live and work. They consented to tell their stories starting with events before they commenced their studies, sharing experiences they had during their studies and describing how their studies impacted their lives, families, work and the community in which they live. In this article, the essence, purpose and content of CHE are addressed. It is argued that through CHE, students’ faith and education could be integrated. Apart from being competent in their professions, students would be committed to apply their competency to deal with the spiritual and material conditions of their communities. This might bring about a transformation of society. Die impak van Christelike Hoër Onderwys op die lewens van studente en gemeenskappe in Afrika. Korrupsie is ’n wêreldwye probleem. Outeurs stem nie net saam dat dit op persoonlike vlak aangespreek moet word nie, maar hulle moedig almal ook aan om betrokke te raak in die stryd teen korrupsie. Dit kan net gebeur as individuele transformasie reeds plaasgevind het. In hierdie artikel lewer Chipapata, Fátima en Jacinto se persoonlike verhale getuienis van die potensiële waarde van Christelike Hoër Onderwys (CHO) met betrekking tot die morele en geestelike transformasie van individue in plaaslike Afrikagemeenskappe. Hierdie drie persone was buitemuurse studente van Hefsiba in Mosambiek. Die impak van hierdie drie persone se studies strek verder as bloot hul persoonlike lewens. Dit is ook sigbaar in die gemeenskap waarin hulle woon en werk. Hulle het ingestem om hul verhale te vertel, beginnende by gebeure voor die aanvang van hul studies, hul ervarings tydens hul studies en hoe hul studies hul lewens, gesinne, werk en gemeenskap beïnvloed het. In hierdie artikel word die essensie, doel en inhoud van CHO aangespreek. Daar word geargumenteer dat studente se geloof en onderwys geïntegreer word deur CHO. Studente word dus nie net toegerus vir hul professies nie, maar behoort ook toegewyd te wees om konstruktief by die spirituele en materiële nood van hul gemeenskappe betrokke te raak. Dit mag moontlik ’n transformasie van die gemeenskap tot gevolg hê.

The genesis of values occurred in the Garden of Eden when God created man. He instilled in man the value of knowledge, which Satan used as part of his deception. God created man with a core intellect capable of external influence. Our modern culture interprets the world through its values and beliefs, both of which are codified and forged into a worldview. The Christian worldview is predicated upon biblical teaching and interpretation. It is the foundation for family values. The paper explores urban myths concerning road accidents that occur between the 16 kilometre and 17 kilometre pegs along Seke road linking Harare and Chitungwiza in Zimbabwe. We argue that there exists a range of views with regard to the exact causes and nature of the carnage that occurs on the one kilometre stretch from Koala to Chinhamo service centre. Some people argue from a rational standpoint that contributing factors to the high accident rate include the bend in the road, the state of disrepair of the vehicles, and the condition of the road. However, this does not explain the mysterious events often believed to take place on the Koala to Chinhamo stretch of the road. Within Shona traditional belief systems, a place where accidents usually occur is haunted by the spirit(s) of a person or people who were murdered. The murdered people then come to haunt the living until the living atone for the murder. This paper considers the range of interpretations given to the accidents on this road, and argues that further accidents can only be prevented if all interpretations are recognized as valid. Worldviews are those larger pictures that inform and in turn form our perceptions of reality. They are visions of life as well as ways of life, are individual and personal in nature, yet bind adherents together communally. Coming to understand a worldview can serve to illuminate particular beliefs and values, and may be helpful in a post-Christian, post-modern or even post-secular era filled with religious, spiritual and secular beliefs of various kinds that hold sway today in the public realm. This article looks at Christianity through a worldview lens using an "ultimate/existential questions" framework (who and what are we; meaning and purpose; responsibilities and obligations; discerning right from wrong; power, force or being greater than humans; and life after this life) to get at the heart of some fundamental Christian beliefs and values. The purpose of this article is to provide a theological and ethical basis for creation care and to look for an area to which Christians may contribute in this matter. First, three issues on the Christian responsibility for creation care were selected and discussed within the framework of theology of creation, eschatology, and redemption. Creation theology identifies the ontological position of human beings in the created world, while the tension existing between the present and the eschatological future suggests an existential status of human beings in connecting the present life with the life to come. The fact that God's redemption, in a diachronic and synchronic sense, involves a restoration of the creation order ensures Christians that there is a need to broaden their ministerial objectives. With regard to ethical challenges, the issue of Christian worldviews, the moral status of nature and nonhuman entities, and intra- and inter-generational equity were addressed. As an alternative of ecocentrism and anthropocentrism, a theocentric perspective was suggested. In response to the valuing theory of non-anthropocentrism and non-anthropogenicism, how God generates the intrinsic value of nature was discussed. Finally, as materialism is regarded as one of the most serious dysfunctional values for the ecosystem, the author suggest how Christians are called to reorient their relationship with the material properties. Scholars have begun to realize that entrepreneurship is a promising economic tool for alleviating poverty and reenergizing economies. More and more a bottom-up, market-based approach to economic development that encourages entrepreneurship is gaining legitimacy and is a contrast to the traditional top-down, planned interventions of aid and wealth redistribution. Many in the Christian community are beginning to see entrepreneurship as a viable way to help people improve their economic wellbeing. They are concerned, however, whether entrepreneurship is compatible with their Christian worldview. This paper attempts to answer the compatibility concerns by investigating how the basic economic conditions needed for entrepreneurship and entrepreneurial activities align with the Christian worldview. First, the paper compares the compatibility of required initial conditions of private property ownership, the pursuit of self-interest, free market mechanisms, the expandability of wealth, and the dignity of work to the Christian worldview. Then the paper compares the entrepreneurial activities of innovation/creativity, the combination of resources to create value by exploiting opportunity, risk taking, and seeking personal gain to the Christian worldview. The basic assumptions of the Muslim and Christian worldviews include, among other topics, the nature of God, human nature, divine guidance, and submission, with important similarities and differences between the two worldviews. Barriers to communicating the gospel to Muslims include the incarnation, the death of Jesus on the cross, and the Trinity. This article addresses the need to develop Christian school education within a biblical worldview applied to the educator's pedagogy, to the mission of the school, and to the school curriculum. According to the author, each of these three aspects is key to the development of the student's worldview and will impact their education as a whole. After describing the relationship of the biblical worldview with each of these aspects, the article concludes with examples of methods of curriculum development and biblical integration that can be used in this process. The central proposition of Christian school education is the integral education in three interdependent areas: theoretical knowledge, critical knowledge, and technical knowledge. The axiological tripod that supports this proposition is the unicity of the human being, the centrality of the divine Being, and the integrality of the educational process. It is possible to derive from such a basis, as scope of education, the formation of the individual in three areas, namely, Christian formation, personal transformation, and intellectual growth. The core of the proposition is that Truth, Wisdom, and Excellence should guide the existence and knowledge of learners in all spheres of life. As an analytical strategy, learners should receive the resources they need to exercise their right to know how to distinguish in different areas of learning, the theoretical and scientific datum in the one hand, and, on the other hand, the underlying philosophical presuppositions. It is, thus, essential to discern the present intellectual context, controlled by anthropocentric humanistic thought, conceptual relativism, and evolutionist scientific naturalism. In such a context, the most immediate goal of Christian education should consist not only in defending confessionality, but also in forming a new generation of intellectuals, scientists, technologists, thinkers, philosophers, and educators, experts in exact and human sciences, endowed with a renewed mind. The immediate goal it to enable the members of the present generation to recover their Christian values and their cultural, technical and academic excellence through their performance as individuals and citizens. This is the challenge presented and renewed to us by each new generation of little ones in the critical years of consolidation of the first and decisive elements of social and cultural formation of the individual. The Christian worldview of Archbishop Desmond M. Tutu: His view on being human and on society The previous article discussed the following components of the Christian worldview of Archbishop D.M. Tutu: (1) his view of God, (2) of God’s laws for creation, (3) of time and history and (4) of our natural environment. This article completes the exposition about his worldview by paying attention to the last two – very important and relevant – components: (5) his view of being human (anthropology) and (6) of society. In the exposition of his anthropology the following aspects are highlighted: (1) religion as integral, total surrender to God and service to our fellow human beings; (2) the need for humaneness and being human; (3) the idea of ubuntu or human interdependence and (4) human freedom and responsibility. Regarding his perspective on society the following aspects receive attention: (1) his rejection of three unsound views of societal life (apartheid, communism and capitalism); (2) his proposals for a better society in future and (3) his inability to visualize a post-apartheid society in the light of the possible solution offered by a Reformational, pluralist model. The two articles are concluded by a brief evaluation of Tutu’s contribution to a genuine Christian worldview. In spite of some deficiencies, we would have beeng much poorer without it. As dwarfs we will have to stand on the shoulders of this giant to be able to see further, deeper and sharper.

The author reflects on the moral attitudes displayed by Poles fighting in the Warsaw Uprising. He believes that the sacrifice and selflessness with which Varsovians battled for their city had its roots in the general mentality of the Poles, who for generations had been raised in the spirit of "mutual and willing endowment".
