Abstract

Using the data sets taken at center-of-mass energies above 4 GeV by the BESIII detector at the BEPCII storage ring, we search for the reaction e+e-→γISRX(3872)→γISRπ+π-J/ψ via the Initial State Radiation technique. The production of a resonance with quantum numbers JPC=1++ such as the X(3872) via single photon e+e- annihilation is forbidden, but is allowed by a next-to-leading order box diagram. We do not observe a significant signal of X(3872), and therefore give an upper limit for the electronic width times the branching fraction ΓeeX(3872)B(X(3872)→π+π-J/ψ)

Abstract: The PANDA detector at FAIR, Darmstadt, is designed for measurements of reactions induced by high intensity antiproton beams with a momentum between 1.5GeV/c and 15GeV/c interacting with hydrogen as well as nuclear targets. Abstract

Suppression of non-resonant background due to emission of π0 increases signal to background ratio in γ-ray emission studies between the discrete states of charmonium. We demonstrate with Monte-Carlo simulations how π0 identification capability increases with decreasing threshold for γ-ray detection in π0 decay. An apparatus has been designed and measurements of the FWHM resolution performed for the three energies 6.13, 12.7 and 16.9 MeV. The trend established in the 50–650 MeV energy range is corroborated. Abstract

Abstract: We use QCD sum rules to study the recently observed resonance-like structures in the mass distribution, and , considered as and molecules with the quantum number and , respectively. We consider the contributions of condensates up to dimension eight and work at leading order in . We obtain , around 100 MeV above the threshold, and , around 100 MeV below the threshold. We conclude that the state is probably a virtual state that is not related with the resonance-like structure. In the case of the molecular state, considering the errors, its mass is consistent with both and resonance-like structures. Therefore, we conclude that no definite conclusion can be drawn for this state from the present analysis. [Copyright &y& Elsevier]

Abstract

Fundamental questions concerning the strong interaction are addressed by the PANDA experiment at the future FAIR facility at GSI-Darmstadt. PANDA will be a general purpose detector of modular design optimized to measure the interaction of an antiproton beam with proton and heavy nuclear targets. The physics program at PANDA covers a wide range of topics including gluonic excitations, spectroscopy of strange and charm mesons, Drell-Yan and CP violating processes.
