AIM: To investigate the repeatability and agreement of Pentacam Front Section Analyzer and Keratron Scout Corneal Topographer in measuring Kappa angle.METHODS: Totally 69 patients were randomly selected from Ophthalmology Department of Leshan People's Hospital. Three readings were taken by the same examiner. Results were recorded in(X, Y)coordinates format and assessed by intraclass correlation coefficient(ICC), Cronbach's Alpha Coefficient, t-test, Pearson correlation analysis and bland-altman analysis.RESULTS: Both instruments showed excellent repeatability in Kappa angle assessment. The results significantly correlated(X value: r=0.90, PY value: r=0.91, PX coordinate and -0.10-0.11mm for Y.CONCLUSION: Pentacam and Keratron Scout showed excellent repeatability and agreement in Kappa angle assessment. The two instruments could aid and verify each other.

Aiming to solve the distributed BPEL engine placing problem in cloud, a K-means based distributed BPEL en-gine placing algorithm was proposed. The algorithm transforms the BPEL engine placing model into some optimization model in mathematics, and the optimization problem is solved by K-means algorithm. How to apply the algorithm in dif-ferent network topologies was also discussed, such as random graph and tree network. In the end, statistical software R was used as experiment tool to evaluate the algorithm. Results show that the proposed method can provide a more opti-mized bandwidth usage of combined BPEL service execution.

A thermodynamic model is established to investigate the effects of internal stress in PbZrO3 (PZ) antiferroelectric (AFE) film on the barocaloric effect (BCE), electrocaloric effect (ECE), and energy storage properties. It is found that the internal stress can change the phase transition behaviors and free energy barriers among AFE, ferroelectric (FE), and paraelectric (PE) phases. For the BCE, it occurs only in the FE phase induced by stress or temperature. Under a certain temperature, the optimized negative and positive ECE can be obtained by controlling the internal stress and electric field. In addition, the switching electric field of the AFE→FE phase transition increases and causes a larger recoverable energy density with decreasing tensile stress. These results are analyzed and explained by tricritical points (3 cp) with different stresses, temperatures, and electric fields. Therefore, this thermodynamic model provides an effective route to optimize the BCE, ECE, and energy storage properties of PZ films. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Seismic loads pose a potential threat to the high-speed railway bridges in China, which have been rapidly developing in recent years, especially for those subjected to the near-fault earthquakes. The previous researches on high-speed railway bridges usually concern the far-field earthquake, and the damage of high-speed railway bridge–track system subjected to the near-fault earthquake has not been well studied. In this article, a seven-span high-speed railway simply supported bridge–track system is selected to explore the seismic damage features under the excitation of near-fault earthquake which possesses characteristics of obvious velocity pulse and high-frequency vibration. First, a detailed finite element model of the selected bridge–track system is established and calibrated by the experimental data and design code. Then the low-frequency pulse-type portion and the high-frequency background portion are separated from the selected eight original near-fault records, and a series of nonlinear dynamic analysis is conducted. The results show that the background portion leads to more serious damage of the bridge–track system than the pulse-type portion. Due to the high stiffness of high-speed railway bridge–track system, the background portion with high-frequency vibration characteristic produces the main part of seismic response of system. This paper evaluates seismic performance of a three-span high-speed railway (HSR) simply supported bridge-track system equipped with multi-joints rotational friction damper (MRFD) using pseudodynamic hybrid simulation. In hybrid simulation, a simplified nonlinear model based on the reference of high-speed railway model is used as a numerical substructure. The experimental substructure is a rotational friction damper (RFD) specimen consisting of two rotational joints. The feedback-force of the RFD specimen is multiplied in different multiples to consider the different clamping force of MRFD with more rotational joints. Results of cyclic tests indicate that the RFD specimen has a good ability to mitigate seismic damage of bridge-track system. Then, pseudodynamic hybrid simulations were performed in the longitudinal direction of the bridge to examine the seismic performance of MRFD. The effect of various ground motions and the influence of different clamping forces of MRFD were investigated. Test results confirmed the applicability of MRFD in HSR bridge-track system. The building-damper system designed by a seismic code is usually considered to be able to withstand the attack of strong earthquakes. However, near-fault earthquakes, especially those with the forward-directivity effect, might cause early and unexpected failure of code-designed dampers and consequent severe structural damage. In this paper, by taking into account near-fault earthquakes, seismic performance of the building-damper system and damper failure's influence are evaluated systematically. A 9-storey steel building is designed by the Chinese seismic code as the benchmark model, and five typical dampers, including buckling-restrained brace damper (BRB), friction damper (FD), self-centering damper (SCD), viscous damper (VD), and viscoelastic damper (VED), are adopted. It was found that the building-damper systems show a large response and possible damper failure under the near-fault earthquake excitations. Then, the influence of damper failure is investigated, which reveals that damper failure would significantly affect seismic performance of the building-damper system, especially for the building-SCD system. Subsequently, by introducing the artificial near-fault earthquake excitation, the influences of different pulse parameters, such as pulse velocity amplitude, pulse period, and the number of significant pulses, are studied. The passive electromagnetic damper was commonly simplified into the linear viscous model in numerical analysis, while this simplification may produce large error when the damper inductance is obvious. In this article, an optimal passive electromagnetic damper with good performance and economy characteristic is proposed by parameter optimization, where the damping density is set as the optimization objective. The hysteresis behavior of the passive electromagnetic damper is verified, and by neglecting the inductance effect, the passive electromagnetic damper can be simplified into the linear viscous model in some cases, but actually the inductance effect is obvious under the high-frequency excitation. Subsequently, the effect of inductance on seismic performance of building damper system under the near-fault earthquake is investigated by comparing the simplified linear viscous model and the accurate passive electromagnetic model. The passive electromagnetic damper was supplemented in a 9-story building, and the analysis of the accurate passive electromagnetic model was carried out by the co-simulation of MATLAB and OpenSees based on the client–server technology. It concludes that the inductance effect is obvious and causes large error when the building damper system is subjected to the near-fault earthquake, and the energy dissipation performance described by the linear viscous model is overestimated. China Railway Track System II (CRTS II) slab ballastless track structure is one of commonly adopted track systems on the high-speed railway bridge, which has been found seismically vulnerable under strong earthquakes. To investigate the earthquake-induced damage mechanism of the CRTS II slab ballastless track structure, a nonlinear numerical model of typical 7-span simply supported bridge–track system was established by the finite element software OpenSees and well calibrated by the test data and relative literatures. The nonlinear time history analysis was employed to calculate seismic responses of bridge and track parts under a suite of 10 seismic records. Results demonstrate that the sliding layer in the track structure is the most damage-prone component, especially at the bridge-subgrade transition section, and the shear alveolar may also sustain earthquake-induced fail. By analyzing the seismic damage mechanism of the track structure, this paper reveals that the nonuniform displacement responses of the girders and friction plate at the bridge-subgrade transition section are main factors that result in the extensive damage of the sliding layer and failure of the shear alveolar. However, the damage of these two components are beneficial to reduce the seismic responses of other components in the track structure and protect them from being damaged. From the perspective of engineering safety, the sliding layer and shear alveolar should be rigorously designed because the residual displacement of the sliding layer increases along with the maximum displacement and the failure of the shear alveolar may make the whole track structure failed. Currently, it is a challenge to effectively assess the seismic performance of the high-speed railway bridge line. To figure it out, this paper discussed the applicability of the Pushover analysis in the seismic fragility of the high-speed railway bridge. As the piers are the core components to resist the earthquakes, a typical high-speed railway bridge line consisting of 22 piers was established by the finite element software OpenSees. The influences of the different pier height and sites on the fragility analysis of the pies were investigated. From the component level, the seismic performance of the high-speed railway bridge line was evaluated by the Pushover analysis. The results show that the seismic responses of the piers by the Pushover analysis are agreeable with those by the incremental dynamical analysis when the peak ground acceleration is less than 0.4g. The high piers have better seismic performance than the lower piers. The high-speed railway bridge line exhibits good seismic performance under the 7-degree design earthquake (0.15g) and the 8-degree low-level earthquake (0.10g) but may be severely damaged under the 9-degree low-level earthquake (0.40g). A high-sensitivity and high-transmittance flexible pressure sensor is presented in this paper. Using polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) sensing film to cover indium tin oxide (ITO) electrodes interdigitated on the polyethylene terephthalate (PET) substrate, an interdigital capacitance (IDC) structure is constructed. The pressure and proximity sensing characteristics of the fabricated IDC sensor are investigated. The experiment results show that the IDC sensor has the piecewise linear function in different pressure range, especially sensitive to the low-pressure range with the pressure sensitivity of 6.64 kPa − 1 . Moreover, it has a good repeatability with the maximum error rate of 2.73% and a high transmittance over 90% in the wavelength range from 400 nm to 800 nm. BackgroundChildhood obesity accompanied by lower levels of health-related physical fitness (HRPF) is a major threat to public health both internationally and locally. Children with intellectual disability, especially adolescents, have a higher risk of being overweight/obese and having poor HRPF levels. Therefore, more interventions are needed to help this population attain their optimal health levels. However, there has been relatively limited research on this population compared with on their typically developing peers. ObjectiveThe proposed study aims to fill this knowledge gap by developing and examining the success of a physical activity (PA) intervention for the target population. MethodsThe proposed study will be a 12-week, school-based randomized controlled trial. The participants (N=48) will be recruited from special schools for students with mild intellectual disability and then randomly allocated to either the intervention group (IG) or the wait-list control group (CG). During the intervention period, the participants in the IG will receive a fun game–based moderate-to-vigorous PA (MVPA) training program (2 sessions/week, 60 minutes/session, for a total of 24 sessions). The intensity of the activities will increase in a progressive manner. Participants in the CG will receive no program during the study period, but the same PA program will be provided to them after the completion of the study. To observe and evaluate the sustaining effects of the intervention, follow-up testing will be scheduled for the participants 12 weeks after the intervention concludes. The study outcomes will include primary outcomes (obesity- and fitness-related outcomes) and a secondary outcome (blood pressure). All of the measurements will be taken at 3 time points. After the follow-up tests, the same PA training program will be provided to the participants in the CG. ResultsThis study is ongoing. The participants were recruited from October 2020 to November 2020. The total duration of the study is 13 months. Study results are expected at the end of 2021. ConclusionsThe proposed study is expected to reduce obesity and improve HRPF levels in children with intellectual disability. If proven effective, the intervention will be made accessible to more special schools and mainstream schools with students with intellectual disability. Furthermore, the study can serve as an example for international researchers, policy makers, and members of the public who are seeking to tackle the problem of obesity and poor HRPF among children with intellectual disability. Tris(2,3-dibromopropyl) isocyanurate (TBC) is a novel brominated flame retardant (BFR) that is widely used to substitute the prohibited BFRs throughout the world. With the development of research, the potential environmental and ecological harms of TBC have been revealed. For sensitive and selective detecting TBC, an indirect competitive biotin–streptavidin-amplified enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (BA–ELISA) has been established in this study. The small molecular TBC–hapten was synthesized first; it mimicked the chemical structure of TBC and possessed a secondary amine group. The as-obtained hapten was then conjugated with carrier proteins to prepare artificial antigen. After immunization, the anti-TBC polyclonal antibody was obtained from separating rabbit serum. The procedures of this BA–ELISA were optimized. Under the optimal conditions, the limit of detection (IC 10 ) was 0.0067 ng/ml and the median inhibitory concentration (IC 50 ) was 0.66 ng/ml. Cross-reactivity values of the BA–ELISA with the tested TBC analogues were ⩽5%. This immunoassay was successfully applied to determine the TBC residue in river water samples that were collected near a BFR manufacturing plant. Satisfactory recoveries (92.1–109.2%) were obtained. A sensitive biotin–streptavidin‐amplified enzyme‐linked immunosorbent assay (BA‐ELISA) method was developed for detecting non‐steroidal anti‐inflammatory drug ketoprofen. Compared with traditional ELISA method, the sensitivity of proposed immunoassay was enhanced by the biotin–streptavidin system. Under the optimal condition, the median inhibitory concentration (IC50) was 0.25 ng mL−1, with minor cross‐reactivity to a number of structural analogs. This developed assay was successfully applied to detect the ketoprofen residues in different fish samples, and good recoveries (72.6–105.5%) were obtained. The results indicated that this immunoassay method could specifically detect trace ketoprofen residues and could be widely used for routine monitoring of food samples. [ABSTRACT FROM PUBLISHER]

Abstract: Copper/titanium dioxide (Cu/TiO2) hollow microspheres were fabricated by direct coating of shells on the surface of rape pollen through an improved sol–gel process. Rape pollen grains were used as biotemplates, and they could be removed easily at high temperature. The average diameter of the as-synthesized hollow spheres was 15–20μm, and the thickness of the hollow sphere shells was approximately 0.6μm. These hollow microspheres had a higher specific surface area and exhibited stronger adsorptive capacity compared with the commercial p-25 system. The results indicate that Cu/TiO2 hollow microspheres have promising photocatalytic applications. [Copyright &y& Elsevier]

In order to explore the photocatalytic activity of the lanthanum and iodine ca-doped TiO2, the degradation of acid blue 62 as a pro~ reaction under simulated sunlight irradiation was investigated. A novel visible-light-activated La/I/TiO2 nanocomposition photocatalyst was prepared using precipitation-diping method, and characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and UV-Vis diffuse reflectance spectroscopy (UV-Vis- DRS). The photocatalytic efficiency of La/I/TIO2 was evaluated by the photodegradation of reactive acid blue 62 as a probe reaction under simulated sunlight irradiation. Photocatalytic experiment results shows that the La/l co-doped TiO2 catalyst has higher photocatalytic activity than the standard Degussa P25, La-doped TiO2 and I-doped TiO2 photoeatalysts under simulated sunlight irradiation, and the way of La/l co-doping extends the absorption spectra of TiO2 and shifts the absorption edge remarkably toward longer wavelength. Abstract: In this paper the income vector space is employed as a unified setting to analyze income mobility. The income mobility can be characterized by a change of the income vector during a given period: the norm of two income vectors can be formulated as a mobility index, which is found to be more generalized than those previous indexes; the angle between them indicates the structural change in income vector. Numerous studies have been carried out on the axially loaded circular concrete-filled steel tube (CCFST) stub columns. However, to date, no clear evaluation criterion for the compatibility of its design parameters has been established. In the present study, the compatibility of the design parameters (concrete compressive strength f c , steel yield strength f y , diameter D and thickness of steel tube t) of axially loaded CCFST stub columns was quantitatively investigated in terms of the contribution of the composite actions to the axial bearing capacity of the columns. The composite ratio λ was proposed as an indicator to represent the effectiveness of the composite actions. A numerical framework of the determination of λ was established, making use of a series of existing widely recognized constitutive models of structural steel and concrete. Some modifications were carried out on these models to ensure the numerical stability of the presented analysis. Moreover, the rationality of the combined use of these models was verified. The analytical results show that excessive or very small D / t ratio should be avoided in design. Meanwhile, the combined use of low-strength steel and high-strength concrete should be avoided. A table of optimal D / t ratios corresponding to different material strength matches was provided for designers. Abstract: The novel visible-light-activated La/I/TiO2 nanocomposition photocatalyst was successfully synthesized using precipitation-dipping method, and characterized by X-ray powder diffraction (XRD), the Brunauer–Emmett–Teller (BET) method, transmission electron microscopy (TEM), thermogravimetry-differential scanning calorimetry (TG–DSC) and UV–vis diffuse reflectance spectroscopy (UV–vis DRS). The photocatalytic activity of La/I/TiO2 was evaluated by studying photodegradation of reactive blue 19 as a probe reaction under simulated sunlight irradiation. Photocatalytic experiment results showed that the maximum specific photocatalytic activity of the La/I/TiO2 photocatalyst appeared when the molar ratio of La/Ti was 2.0at%, calcined at 350°C for 2h, due to the sample with good crystallization, high BET surface area and small crystal size. Under simulated sunlight irradiation, the degradation of reactive blue 19 aqueous solution reached 98.6% in 80min, which showed La/I/TiO2 photocatalyst to be much higher photocatalytic activity compared to standard Degussa P25 photocatalyst. Abstract A hydrogen fuel cell combines oxygen and hydrogen to generate electricity, which becomes a promising power source. The conditions of the fuel cell, such as health status, and faults, are essential for ensuring the continuous power supplying. There are technologies and algorithms carried out for fuel cell health monitoring, fault diagnosis, and prediction, lifespan prediction. For a comprehensive understanding, this paper proposed a comprehensive overview of the work on fuel cell conditions monitoring technology. It reviewed the works of literature from two different points of view, technology, and scenario. For technology view, there are model-based method, filter-based method, and data motivated method. For scenario views, it proposed a 5 × 5 tables for detail comparison. Based on this review, readers can easily understand the current status of condition monitoring technology for the fuel cell. A gold nanoparticle based bio-barcode assay combined with real-time immuno- polymerase chain reaction (PCR) was developed for the determination of polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs). Gold nanoparticles modified with thiol-capped DNA and antibody for affixing probes were used to replace antibody-DNA conjugates in immuno-PCR. The modified gold nanoparticles were fixed on the PCR tube wall through a competitive immune reaction. Signal-DNA could be released from the gold nanoparticle surface into the tubes and used as template DNA. Real-time PCR was subsequently performed to directly quantify DNA signal. A detection limit of 2.55 pg L −1 was obtained under optimized conditions. This method was successfully used to detect Aroclor 1248 in Hairtail samples collected from the East China Sea near Zhejiang Province. Recovery values ranged from 84% to 104%, and the coefficient of variation (CV) was acceptable. Results were validated by GC-ECD, indicating that this convenient and sensitive method has great potential for trace PCBs screening in real environmental samples. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Objective: To compare the functional and radiological outcome of different approaches of percutaneous vertebroplasty (PVP) in the treatment of osteoporotic vertebral compression fractures (OVCF), and to analyze the factors affecting postoperative re-fracture in patients with OVCF., Methods: Medical data of 76 patients with OVCF who underwent PVP in our hospital from January 2021 to December 2021 were analyzed retrospectively. Based on the different intraoperative approaches, patients were divided into Unilateral-group (n=36) and Bilateral-group (n=40). The perioperative indexes, clinical efficacy, and spinal nerve function of the two groups were compared. Logistic regression analysis was used to determine the risk factors of postoperative re-fracture in patients with OVCF. The functional outcome was assessed with Oswestry disability index (ODI), American Spinal Injury Association (ASIA) nerve function classification and pain with Visual analogue scale (VAS). The radiological outcome was assessed by noting change of anterior vertebral height and change of kyphosis Cobb angle., Results: The amount of intraoperative bleeding, the number of X-ray irradiation and the volume of injected bone cement in the Unilateral-group were lower, and the operation time was shorter than Bilateral-group (all P <0.05). One week after the operation, the anterior height of the vertebral body was higher, the Cobb angle of kyphosis was lower, the VAS score was higher, and the ASIA grade was lower in the Unilateral-group compared to the Bilateral-group ( P <0.05). Logistic regression analysis showed that the age, bone mineral density, volume of bone cement injection and PD were risk factors of postoperative re-fracture in patients with OVCF., Conclusion: Unilateral PVP treatment of OVCF has the advantages of less intraoperative bleeding, less X-ray irradiation and shorter operation time. At the same time, bilateral PVP is associated with improved bone cement dispersion, and the effect of improving patients' pain is better than that in the Unilateral PVP. Τreatment of bone cancer pain remains a challenge, while the mechanisms causing the pain remain elusive. We demonstrated that the expression of the N‑methyl‑D‑aspartate (NMDA) receptor NR2B subunit was upregulated in mice with bone cancer pain. Kinesin superfamily protein 17 (KIF17), a recently characterized member of the kinesin superfamily proteins, has been demonstrated to transport and deliver the NR2B subunit to dendrites in mammalian neurons. In the present study, we induced bone cancer pain via femur bone cavity osteosarcoma NCTC 2472 tumor cell implantation (TCI) in mice. The results showed that TCI in mice increased the number of spontaneous flinches, mechanical allodynia events, expression of spinal KIF17 and NR2B subunits. Intrathecal administration of KIF17 antisense oligodeoxynucleotide (ODN) attenuated the behavioral signs of bone cancer pain and suppressed the increased expression of NR2B induced by TCI. In addition, KIF17 binds to a protein complex that contains mLin‑10 to transport NR2B, and we determined that the increase of mLin‑10 was suppressed following admini-stration. Thus, these findings suggested that KIF17 contributed to the development of bone cancer pain in the spinal cord through NR2B transport and that mLin‑10 may also play a role in pain development.

Aquaglyceroporin 9 (AQP9) is considered to be involved in numerous types of carcinogenic processes, particularly in liver carcinoma. AQP9 expression is significantly decreased in the human hepatocellular carcinoma when compared with the non-tumourigenic liver, which leads to increased resistance to apoptosis. In addition, AQP9 is permeable to glycerol and urea. The involvement of AQP9 in leukemia has not been fully delineated. It is proposed that abnormal proliferation of hematopoietic stem cells (HSCs) contributes to leukemia carcinogenesis. Therefore, the present study aimed to investigate the possible roles of AQP9 in HSCs and its effect on the intracellular glycerol content. HSCs and non-HSCs (nHSCs) were isolated via magnetic-activated cell sorting and then subjected to flow cytometry for evaluation of purity. White blood cells (WBCs) were isolated from peripheral blood from healthy volunteers. Furthermore, AQP9 expression was examined at the mRNA and protein levels using western blotting and reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR). The glycerol content of HSCs, nHSCs and WBCs was evaluated by ELISA. Finally, in order to observe the morphology of HSCs and nHSCs, a blood smear was conducted and the cells were observed with Wright-Giemsa staining. The results indicated that the glycerol content in the HSCs was markedly greater than that in the nHSCs. AQP9 mRNA and protein expression was not detected in the HSCs and nHSCs, but was identified in the WBCs. Moreover, the HSC morphological characteristics included round or oval cells with round, slightly oval or irregularly shaped nuclei. Additionally, the nuclei occupied almost the entire cell, were located in the middle or were biased toward one side, and were stained light purple or red. Overall, our results indicated that intracellular glycerol is involved in HSC proliferation, despite the fact that glycerol is not mediated by AQP9. Hence, our findings may be useful in further understanding the mechanism of leukemia carcinogenesis, and these data may be valuable in developing future therapeutic strategies.

Aim: To investigate the effect of epigallocatechingallate (EGCG) on acute lung injury induced by oleic acid in mice and the possible mechanism., Methods: Acute lung injury was induced by oleic acid in mice. Light microscopy and electron microscopy were used to examine histological changes and lung index as well as wet to dry weight ratio was calculated. Serum TNF-a level was measured by enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) and the phosphorylation of p38 MAPK was determined by Western blotting., Results: Pretreatment of EGCG significantly alleviated oleic acid induced lung injury accompanied by reduction of lung index and wet to dry weight ratio, decreased of TNF-a level in serum and inhibition of phosphorylation of p38 MAPK., Conclusion: EGCG showed beneficial effect on acute lung injury induced by oleic acid in mice. The ultimate reduction of TNF-alpha in serum caused by inhibition of phosphorylated p38 MAPK is involved in the mechanism of action of EGCG.
