Erken dönem İslâm fetih hareketleri ile beraber İslâm toplumunda yerini almaya başlayan gayrı Arap Müslümanları ifade etmek için kullanılan mevâlî kavramı, Emevîler tarihinin en tartışmalı konularından bir tanesini teşkil etmektedir. Mevâlî, Araplar ile kurmuş oldukları “velâ” ilişkisi ile yeni bir topluma entegre olarak siyasi, ekonomik, kültürel, edebî ve ilmî sahalarda kendilerini göstermişlerdir. Muhtelif sahalarda mevâlînin katılımının keyfiyeti ve kemmiyeti ise günümüz akademisinin güncel araştırma meselelerinden biridir. Bu makale, mevâlînin siyasi, ekonomik, kültürel ve edebî yönünü değil, Emevî Devleti bağlamında oryantalistler tarafından “İslâmî ilimlerin teşekkülünde mevâlînin etkin rolü" şeklinde ortaya atılan iddiayı -Araplar ile mevâlînin karşılaşma alanlarından biri olan- Kûfe şehri üzerinden tabakat kitapları kullanılarak “Prosopografi” yöntemi ile saptamayı hedeflemektedir. Makalede öncelikle kavramsal arka plan verilmiş, ardından konunun tarihsel süreci tartışmanın ortaya çıkmasında etkili olan oryantalistlerin görüşleri üzerinden aktarılmış ve akabinde Arap araştırmacıların mesele hakkındaki fikirleri ele alınmıştır. Daha sonra çalışmada takip edilen süreçte ulaşılan veriler incelenirken “Arap-mevlâ dağılımı, mevlâların ilişki kurmuş oldukları kabileler, Adnânî ve Kahtânî kabilelerinin oranı” başlıklarına yoğunlaşılmış ve veriler grafiklerle somutlaştırılarak yorumlanmıştır.

Dijital teknolojiler bireylere daha rahat ve verimli bir ortam sağlarken, diğer yandan psikolojik, fiziksel ve sosyal sorunlara neden olmaktadır. Bu olumsuz etkilerden kurtulmak için bireyler geçici de olsa tatil ve seyahatlerinde dijital teknolojilerden kaçınmak istiyorlar. Konaklama ve turizm endüstrisiyle ilgili işletmeler ise seyahat ederken Bilgi İletişim Teknolojilerinin (BİT) kullanımını azaltmak veya tamamen bırakmak isteyen bireyler için ürünler ve paketler oluşturmaktadır. Bu tür tekliflerin oluşmasıyla da dijital detoks adı verilen bir seyahat türü ortaya çıkmıştır. Nitel yaklaşımla turizm bölümünde görev yapan 16 akademisyenle yarı yapılandırılmış görüşmeler yapılan bu çalışmanın amacı, bireylerin teknoloji bağımlılığını belirlemek ve niş pazar olan dijital detoks turizminin tercih edilebilirliğini ortaya koymaktır. İçerik ve betimsel analizlerle elde edilen çalışma sonuçlarına göre, tatil ve seyahatlerde dijital teknoloji kullanımının genel olarak tatil deneyimini olumsuz etkilediği ortaya çıkmıştır. Ayrıca, bireylerin uzaklaşma, rahatlama ve yeni deneyimler kazanma amacıyla dijital detoks tatiline katılma eğilimi içinde oldukları belirlenmiştir. Yakın gelecekte BİT’lerin önemini kaybetmesi pek mümkün görünmese de bu araçların tüketimi kontrol edilmelidir. Bu noktada turizm işletmelerinin sahip olduğu bilgi ve farkındalık birey taleplerine karşılık verebilir ve pazar koşullarına esnek uyumu kolaylaştırabilir.

Objective: Preeclampsia (PE) is a multi-systemic disease in pregnancy and a leading cause of maternal and fetal mortality and morbidity worldwide. Elevated expression levels of certain circulating microRNAs (miRs) can be considered potential biomarkers, and have been reported in maternal plasma of pregnant women. We aimed to evaluate the expression profiles of circulating miR-1183 and its putative target mRNA in preeclampsia and their utility for prenatal diagnosis of preeclampsia. Methods: Plasma samples were obtained from pregnant women between 26 and 32 weeks of gestation. Circulating miR-1183 and its target mRNA expression levels were determined by qRT-PCR in maternal plasma of 31 patients with preeclampsia and 22 normotensive pregnancies patient as control. Bioinformatics tools were used to predict the target gene of miR-1183. Results: The expression level of circulating miR-1183 was significantly increased in plasma of preeclampsia patients compared to controls (P = .002). The expression level of CHURC1 gene, the target gene of miR-1183, is dramatically decreased in PE cases compared to controls (P < .001). Spearman's correlation between miR-1183 and CHURC1 expression levels shows an r-value of -0.37, suggesting a moderate inverse relationship between the 2 parameters but it was not statistically significant (P = .08). By Receiver Operating Curve (ROC) analysis, miR-1183 and CHURC1 showed high accuracy in discriminating PE from controls. The area under the curve (AUC) was found in miR-1183 and CHURC1 at 0.79 (95% CI, 0.62-0.91) and 0.96 (95% CI, 0.78-0.99), respectively. Conclusion: Circulating miR-1183 may be involved in the pathogenesis of preeclampsia via the regulation of its target mRNA, CHURC1. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Bu çalışmanın amacı fen bilgisi öğretmenlerinin sürdürülebilir kalkınma, sürdürülebilir kalkınma için eğitim, sürdürülebilir kalkınma için eğitim yeterlikleri ve sürdürülebilir kalkınma için eğitimde öğretmenlerin hangi yeterliklere sahip olması gerektiğine dair görüşlerini ortaya çıkarmaktır. Temel nitel araştırma yöntemi araştırmanın deseni olarak seçilmiştir. Araştırmada üç farklı okuldan 12 fen bilgisi öğretmeni katılımcılar olarak belirlenmiştir. Araştırmada yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme formu kullanılmış ve veriler toplanmıştır. Veriler içerik ve betimsel analizine göre çözümlenmiştir. Araştırma sonucunda fen bilgisi öğretmenlerinin sürdürülebilir kalkınmayı çevre, ekonomi, toplum ve gelişme gibi kelimelerle ilişkilendirdiği, doğanın ve çevrenin korunması şeklinde nitelendirdiği belirlenmiştir. Öğretmenler, sürdürülebilir kalkınma için eğitimle ilgili bireylerin konuyla ilgili yeterli bilgiye sahip olmadıklarını ve bireylere eğitim verilmesi gerektiğini belirtmiştir. Fen bilgisi öğretmenleri tutum ve bilgi öğrenme alanının diğer öğrenme alanlarından daha önemli olduğunu ifade etmiştir. Araştırma sonucunda ayrıca öğretmenlerin sürdürülebilir kalkınmanın yeterlikleri arasında yer alan değerleri açıklamak ile karar verme, katılıma ve değişim için hareket etmeye daha çok vurgu yaptığı, eleştirel düşünme ile geleceği/alternatif senaryoları görmeye herhangi bir vurgu yapmadığı tespit edilmiştir. Öğretmenlerin sahip olması gereken yeterlikleri arasında sürdürülebilir kalkınma hakkında donanımlı olması ve çevre bilincine sahip olması, edindiği bilgileri yaşam biçimi haline getirmesi ve proje üretebilmesi yer almaktadır.

People may experience anxiety regarding their future romantic relationship status. Fear of being single (FOBS) is a potential cause of this anxiety, characterized by distress about the idea of being single and assessed through the FOBS Scale. In the current study, the FOBS Scale was adapted into Turkish. The study included 349 individuals aged 28–55 years (M = 23.63 years, SD = 6.45 years). The reliability and validity of the measure and the associations with particular variables were investigated for the first time in the cultural context of Turkey. The confirmatory factor analysis revealed an acceptable model fit for the single‐factor structure. Measurement invariance of the scale across relationship status was supported at configural and metric levels, but not at the scalar level. The convergent and divergent validity analyses indicated that FOBS is distinct from generalized anxiety, attachment anxiety, and the personality trait of neuroticism. FOBS was found to be related to the need to belong but not to the inclusion of close others into the self. It has been determined that FOBS is a distinctive phenomenon, and the Turkish version of the FOBS Scale is a valid and reliable tool for assessing FOBS in Turkey. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The concept of mawālī, used to express the non-Arab Muslims who began to enter the Islamic society with the early Islamic conquest movements, constitutes one of the most controversial issues in the history of the Umayyads. Mawālī gained a place in the political, economic, cultural, literary, and scientific fields by integrating into the new society with the "velā" relationship they established with the Arabs. The nature and extent of mawālīs' participation in various fields is one of the current research issues of today's academy. This article does not aim to examine the political, economic, cultural, and literary aspects of the mawālī, but rather to determine the claim made by orientalists in the context of the Umayyad State as "the role of the mawālī in the formation of Islamic sciences" by using the "Prosopography" method through the city of Kūfa, one of the areas of encounter between the Arabs and the mawālī. The article begins with the conceptual background, followed by the historical narrative viewed through influential Orientalists' perspectives, and subsequently discusses Arab scholars' opinions. Abstract The objective of this work was to evaluate tomato rootstocks with the Mi resistance gene for nematode control and fruit yield, in a greenhouse naturally infested with Meloidogyne arenaria. The experiment was carried out in a randomized complete block design with four treatments (three resistant rootstocks and the Barbaros susceptible cultivar) and four replicates per treatment. 'Barbaros' was grafted onto the 'Arazi', 'Beauford', and 'King Kong' rootstocks, and compared with nongrafted 'Barbaros'. The maximum daily ambient temperatures in the greenhouse was above 28°C, in some days, during the growing period. The grafted tomato had a lower galling index and egg production than the susceptible tomato; however, no significant differences were observed between the three rootstocks. Likewise, there was no difference for the total cumulative fruit yield between rootstocks. All grafted tomatoes also had significantly higher fruit yields than the nongrafted control. The rootstocks provided fruit yields from 40.07% to 63.86% higher than that of the susceptible control in the nematode-infested soil. The rootstocks with the Mi resistance gene favor a higher tomato fruit yields and inhibit the nematode increase in soils infested with M. arenaria.

İspanya 92/711 senesinde başlayan fetihler sayesinde Müslüman hâkimiyeti altına girmiş, 139/756 senesinde Endülüs Emevi Devleti kurulmuştur. I. Abdurrahman ile temelleri atılan ve II. Abdurrahman ile düğün günlerini yaşayan Endülüs’te, devletin kuruluşu üzerinden henüz bir asır bile geçmemişken III. (IX.) yüzyıl boyunca bir dizi iç karışıklık ve ayaklanmanın olduğu bir dönem başlamıştır. Kaynaklarda “Fitne Dönemi” olarak isimlendirilen bu dönem Emir Muhammed’in iktidara gelmesinden (238/852) III. Abdurrahman’a kadar (300/912) yaklaşık 60 sene sürmüştür. İlk önce Tuleytula’da başlayan ayaklanmalar, başkent Kurtuba dışında tüm bölgelere yayılarak devletin siyasi otoritesini sarsacak seviyeye ulaşmıştır. Emevi idaresi, kuruluşundan yüz sene sonra karşılaştığı bu kriz döneminde devlete vergi ödemeyi reddederek bağımsızlık iddiası taşıyan birden fazla grupla baş etmek zorunda kalmıştır. Bu durum devletin ekonomik ve askeri gücünü yıpratırken, toplumun farklı unsurlarının kaynaşmasını geciktirmiş ve iç karışıklıkları fırsat bilen Hristiyan güçlerin Emeviler’e karşı saldırıya geçmesine zemin hazırlamıştır. Bu çalışmanın amacı, devleti neredeyse dağılmanın eşiğine getiren birinci büyük fitne döneminin ortaya çıkmasına yol açan sebepleri siyasi, toplumsal, ekonomik ve coğrafi açılardan inceleyerek ortaya koymaktır.

Thermoplastic composite filament materials can be used in the manufacturing method with melted filament, which is among the additive manufacturing methods. Thermoplastic composite filament materials allow obtaining different thermal, chemical, mechanical and surface properties. In this study, PLA filament and PLA-Steel filament materials with approximately 80% by weight of 410L steel powder were compared in terms of impact strength, tensile strength and thermal conductivity properties. As a result of the experiments carried out, the highest impact strength was measured at 14.27 kJ/m2, the highest tensile strength was 41.62 MPa and the highest thermal conductivity was 0.1364 W/mK for PLA material. The highest impact strength was measured at 11.51 kJ/m2, the highest tensile strength was 19.06 MPa and the highest thermal conductivity was 0.2758 W/mK for the steel powder added PLA material. Thus, the impact and tensile strength value of PLA material decreased and the thermal conductivity value increased with the addition of steel powder. Different levels of filling ratio, printing temperature, printing speed and layer thickness printing parameters were used in the production of test specimens. The effects of these pressure parameters on the impact and tensile strength values were investigated. The effects of printing parameters were revealed by the results of ANOVA analysis. Aims: To determine the relationship between perception of COVID‐19, fear of COVID‐19 and self‐care management in individuals with chronic diseases during the pandemic process. Background: Individuals with chronic diseases are a sensitive group during the COVID‐19 pandemic process; it is thought that self‐care management may be adversely affected as a result of their more intense exposure to the psychological, physiological and economic effects of the pandemic. In the literature, there is no study examining the effect of perception of COVID‐19 and fear of COVID‐19 on self‐care management in individuals with chronic diseases. Design: Descriptive study. Methods: The study was conducted with 322 individuals who applied to the internal medicine outpatient clinics of a university's Health Practice and Research Center, met the inclusion criteria, agreed to participate in the study and had a chronic disease. Questionnaire form, Perception of COVID‐19 Scale (P‐COVID‐19), The Fear of COVID‐19 Scale (FCV‐19S) and Self‐Care Management Process in Chronic Illness Scale (SCMP‐G) were used to collect data. STROBE checklist was used to report the present study. Results: In the study, it can be stated that individuals with chronic diseases had a moderate to the high perception of contagiousness and dangerousness of COVID‐19, they had a moderate‐high level of fear of COVID‐19 and their self‐care care management was above moderate level. There was a significant positive correlation between P‐COVID‐19, FCV‐19S and SCMP‐G in the study. Conclusions: It was found that the perception of COVID‐19 contagiousness and the fear of COVID‐19 had a positive effect on the self‐care management of individuals with chronic diseases. Relevance to clinical practice: Determining the level of COVID‐19 perception and fear of COVID‐19 and their effects on the life of the individual, and evaluating self‐care management during the difficult pandemic process will increase the success in the holistic nursing care and management of chronic diseases. Neticeolarak eski tarihlerden itibaren birçok din ve düşünce yapısının himayegördüğü, dolayısıyla canlı kültürel bir ortamın var olduğu bu şehir, İslâmdöneminde de aynı özelliğini büyük oranda devam ettirmiştir. Her ne kadar şehirdekibu zengin kültürel yapı İslâm inanç ve akidesine ters, bölgede birçok düşünceyapısının ortaya çıkmasına yol açsa daaynı zamanda bu aykırı düşünceler karşısında İslâm’ı ve onun akîdevi yapısınısağlam bir şekilde savunan İmâm Mâtürîdî ve onun yolunu takip eden güçlükelâmcıların bu şehir ve bölgede yetişmesine vesile olmuştur.

Objective: Theater actors are considered as elite vocal performers whom quality of voice is of utmost importance. It was thought that speech breathing characteristics of theater actors were different compared with those of lay talkers. However, findings on this issue were generally based on studies conducted by the respiratory kinematics and muscular activity via using indirect air volume measures. These measures were by no means related with the respiratory– phonatory interaction. One of the objective methods that is used for evaluating voice quality is the phonatory-aerodynamic characteristics. Phonatory-Aerodynamic System (PAS) primarily examines the respiratory–phonatory interaction. The aim of the present study was to search the phonatory-aerodynamic characteristics of drama students. Materials and Methods: A total of 37 vocally healthy participants aged between 21 and 30 years were separated into two groups; the first group included drama students (n=19), and the second group comprised lay talkers (n=18). Phonatory-aerodynamic evaluations were done via PENTAX Medical PAS Model6600. Results: During the phonation of vowel [a], female and male drama students used greater percentage of vital capacity (VC) than public speaker couples. Similarly, findings indicated that female drama students used greater percentage of VC while producing syllables [papapapapa]. As for connected speech, female participants of both groups completed reading in similar durations, but they inspirated faster and they needed lesser number of inspirations. Conclusion: It is concluded that the phonatory-aerodynamic characteristics of theater students are different compared with those of lay talkers predominantly for female participants. The present study's results may serve clinicians' basic objective data regarding the speech breathing characteristics of theater actors.

The host response of fifteen winter squash (Cucurbita maxima) and five pumpkin (Cucurbita moschata) dihaploid genotypes to Meloidogyne arenaria, M. incognita, M. javanica, and M. luci was screened in pot experiments.
