Introduction: In order to facilitate patient access and the clinical practice of Central Auditory Processing assessment, the online platform AudBility was created, which aims to screen auditory skills. Objective: To characterize the auditory skills in elderly users of Electronic Sound Amplification Devices (ESAD) through the online platform AudBility. Methods: Descriptive and analytical study, submitted to the ethics committee - n° 46378821.10000.0121. Participants were 15 elderly new ESAD users with moderately severe bilateral hearing loss, followed up by an Outpatient Hearing Health Service. The AudBility online program was installed on an HP notebook, model 256 G8, with supra-aural headphones, JBL, model Quantum 100. In AudBility, a self-perception questionnaire was applied and an assessment of location, figure-ground auditory skills was performed (binaural integration and separation), auditory closure, temporal ordering of duration and temporal resolution. Results: The average age of the elderly was 74 years and 8 years of education. The questionnaire's average self-perception was 35.92 points. The most impaired auditory skills were figure-ground in the binaural separation task (26% of correct answers) and binaural integration (30.92% of correct answers). Closing skills (84%) and sound localization (75.7%) were the ones with the best performance. Conclusion: It is concluded that the most altered skills were the figure-ground skills, which are extremely important for listening in unfavorable environments. AudBility is a promising instrument that can be used to monitor and assist in the rehabilitation process of elderly ESAD users. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Objectives: to understand the repercussions of teaching work in remote teaching during the COVID-19 pandemic in Higher Education Institutions in northern Santa Catarina., Methods: a qualitative participatory action research, based on Paulo Freire's theoretical-methodological precepts. Seventeen health professors participated in two Virtual Culture Circles held in the first half of 2021., Results: six generating themes emerged for discussion, which aroused in participants' feelings and perspectives regarding the remote teaching process in the pandemic context, with an emphasis on the connectivity theme, which generated dialogue through reports of personal experiences., Final Considerations: the pandemic has had repercussions in sectors such as health and education. Professors talked about their experience in creating, recreating and adapting to remote teaching and the challenges facing the teaching-learning process, listing the worsening of mental health and the need to learn new digital technologies.

Purpose: To analyze the perception of professionals constituting Family Health Support Centers (FHSC) of a capital in the South Region of Brazil regarding the role of speech-language therapy professionals in primary care (PC)., Method: This is a qualitative, observational cross-sectional study. All professionals constituting the FHSC who voluntarily agreed to collaborate with the research participated in this study. A semi-structured questionnaire was applied containing information about the professional profile and activities developed in PC., Results: Health professionals perform actions that would allow for the joint participation of speech-language therapy professionals, since this category is not contemplated in the staff members that constitute the municipality team analyzed. According to the questionnaire, referrals to speech-language therapy professionals are mainly related children issues with speech and language. Little knowledge on the contribution of speech-language sciences regarding interdisciplinary actions was found., Conclusion: The participants of this study demonstrated a reductionist perception regarding speech-language sciences in PC. In addition, the actions performed by the professionals of this study are directed towards what the speech-language professional could contribute instead. Further studies could demonstrate the benefits that speech-language professionals can provide to the activities performed.
