Over the -dimensional real superspace, we compute the cohomology space of the affine Lie superalgebra with coefficient in a large class of -modules . We apply our results to the module of weight densities and the module of linear differential operators acting on a superspace of weighted densities. Over the (1, N)-dimensional real superspace, $${N \geqq 3}$$ , we study non-trivial deformations of the natural action of the orthosymplectic Lie superalgebra $${\mathfrak{osp}(N|2)}$$ on the direct sum of the superspaces of weighted densities. We compute the necessary and sufficient integrability conditions of a given infinitesimal deformation of this action and prove that any formal deformation is equivalent to its infinitisemal part. Likewise we study the same problem for the Lie superalgebra $${\mathcal{K}(N)}$$ of contact vector fields instead of $${\mathfrak{osp}(N|2)}$$ getting the same results. Let osp ( 2 | 2 ) be the orthosymplectic Lie superalgebra and osp ( 1 | 2 ) a Lie subalgebra of osp ( 2 | 2 ) . In our paper, we describe the cup-product H 1 ∨ H 1 , where H 1 : = H 1 ( osp ( 2 | 2 ) , osp ( 1 | 2 ) ; D λ , μ 2 ) is the first differential osp ( 1 | 2 ) -relative cohomology of osp ( 2 | 2 ) with coefficients in D λ , μ 2 and D λ , μ 2 : = Ho m diff ( F λ 2 , F μ 2 ) is the space of linear differential operators acting on weighted densities. This result allows us to classify the osp ( 1 | 2 ) -trivial deformations of the osp ( 2 | 2 ) -module structure on the spaces of symbols S d 2 . Aim: To estimate metamorphopsia prevalence, predictors and etiologies in patients operated for rhegmatogenous retinal detachment (RRD) with detached macula with successful results., Methods: Retrospective study including 50 eyes of 50 patients who underwent pars plana vitrectomy for RRD with detached macula with standard silicone oil (SO) tamponade. Patients who had successful surgery with durable anatomic reapplication of the retina after SO removal were included. Patients were examined on day 1, day 7,1 month, and 3 months after surgery. Best corrected visual acuity, Amsler grid, fundus biomicroscopy, Spectral Domain Optical Coherence Tomography (SD-OCT) and fundus auto-fluorescence (FAF) were performed in all patients after surgery. Structural abnormalities such as macular folds, macular epiretinal membrane, cystoid macular edema, and foveal disruption of the ellipsoid layer were observed on SD-OCT. Macular displacement was identified on FAF., Results: We identified metamorphopsia as post-operative visual impairment in 27 patients among 50 (54%). Clinical assessment found that a delay > 7 days between symptoms and surgery (p < 0.001), more than 2 detached quadrants (p=0.012), and stage C of proliferative vitreoretinopathy (p=0.035) were associated to metamorphopsia. Regarding multimodal imaging findings, only macular folds and macular displacement were significantly correlated with the occurrence of postoperative metamorphopsia (p <0.001)., Conclusion: Metamorphopsia is a common complaint after vitrectomy for RRD. Macular rotation and folds would be the main causes after complete and durable reapplication of the retina.

In view of the anticancer effect of nitrosoureas a set of four new N-(2-chloroethyl)-N-nitrosourea (CENU) derivatives was synthesized. An in silico absorption, distribution, metabolism, excretion and toxicity (ADME/Tox) prediction study revealed that the CENU derivatives satisfied all the required criteria for oral administration and introduced them as remarkable anticancer candidates in the central nervous system (CNS). A comparative solvatochromic study including the Kamlet-Taft, Catalán and Laurence models indicated that the solvatochromic behavior of the CENUs depended on both, unspecific and specific solvent-solute interactions. In detail, the solvatochromic effect of the solvent polarity on the absorption and emission maxima was significant for all CENUs, whereas the solvatochromic effect of the solvent's ability to donate or accept hydrogen bonds on the absorption and emission maxima was critically dependent on the electron density of the N'-aryl group. From the solvatochromic comparison method, excellent correlations (r ≥ 0.890) were obtained between the ADME parameters and the solvatochromic regression coefficients obtained by the Catalán model. As potential stabilizers, inclusion complexes of the investigated CENU derivatives with β-cyclodextrin (β-CD) were also explored. The effects of solvent dipolarity/polarizability and solvent-solute hydrogen bonding on the photophysical properties of the antineoplastic drug lomustine were analysed by means of the linear solvation energy relationship (LSER) concept proposed by Kamlet and Taft. The LSER method enabled the overall solvent effects to be quantitatively estimated and separated into specific and non-specific contributions. The molecular encapsulation of lomustine by β-cyclodextrin (β-CD) has been studied using fluorescence spectroscopy. The results are discussed in terms of the binding parameter and the effect of the solvent used. It was concluded that β-CD forms a 1:1 inclusional complex with lomustine in acetonitrile solution and its association constant was calculated to be 500 M(-1). In addition, and for the first time, a simple, rapid and high sensitive fluorimetric method for the determination of lomustine was developed based upon the enhancement effect produced through complex formation with β-CD. The new approach for the quantification of lomustine in the presence of β-CD was described in aqueous and organic solutions. Molecular charge-transfer complexes of three N-aryl-N'-isopropyloxycarbonylsulfamides derivatives with π-acceptors tetracyanoethylene (TCNE), and 2,3-dichloro-5,6-dicyano-1,4-benzoquinone (DDQ), were studied by using zero and second order derivative UV spectrophotometry in different solvents at four different temperatures within the range of 20-35 °C. The stoichiometries of the complexes were found to be 1:1 ratio between donors and acceptors using Job's method. The data were analyzed in terms of their stability constant (K), molar extinction coefficient (εCT), thermodynamic standard reaction quantities (ΔG°, ΔH°, ΔS°), oscillator strength (f), transition dipole moment (μEN) and ionization potential (ID). The results show that the stability constant (K) for the complexes was found to be dependant upon the nature of electron acceptor, electron donor, and polarity of used solvents., (Copyright © 2013 Elsevier B.V. The structure of N-nitroso, N-(2-chloroethyl), N',N'-dibenzylsulfamid (CENS) was established by X-ray crystallography. The atomic coordinates, factors of isotropic thermal agitation, bond lengths and valence angles were determined. The solvent effects on the electronic absorption and fluorescence spectra of CENS were investigated at room temperature. The effects of solvent polarity and of hydrogen bonding were interpreted by means of linear solvation energy relationships (LSERs). Multiple linear regression analysis indicated that the hydrogen donation properties of the solvent play an important role in determining the position of the absorption maximum, while the classical polarity of the medium is the only dominating parameter in determining the emission maximum and the Stokes' shift. Complexation of the investigated compound by two different transition metal ions was studied. Fluorescence measurements show that fluorescence quenching by cobalt(II) is more important than that by copper(II). This phenomenon can be attributed to good stereo-structural matching between the electronic configuration of the Co(2+) ion and the active site distribution of CENS in aqueous solution., (Copyright © 2012 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.)

The title compound, C(11)H(21)Cl(3)N(2)O(4)S, was produced as part of a development programme of a new synthetic route to chloro-ethyl-nitro-sosulfamides (CENS) with three chloro-ethyl moieties. These compounds possess structural features that confer potential biological activity and act as alkyl-ating agents. The packing is governed by four weak C-H⋯O inter-actions, forming an infinite three-dimensional network.

An approach for the synthesis of carbonic anhydrase (CA, EC 4.2.1.1) inhibitor coated gold nanoparticles is reported. This nanomaterial selectively inhibited the tumor-associated isoform CA IX overexpressed in hypoxic cancers over the ubiquitous, cytosolic housekeeping isozymes CA I and II and was membrane impermeant. As CA IX has an extracellular active site, the new nanomaterial which is confined to the extracellular space may be useful for imaging and treatment of hypoxic tumors.

Three series of derived compounds of N, Aryl-N',Sulfamoyloxazolidin-2-ones were synthesized starting from chloro-sulfonylisocyanate (CSI) by carbomoylation, sulfamoylation and intramolecular cyclization reactions followed by methylation and heterocyclic reopening reactions. This later is based on a new hydrolysis method which uses a solid support, in order to obtain the correspondent amino-alcohols, which allowed isolating a new amino-alcohol ester. Measurements of the hydro-solubility by determination partition coefficient (log p) in water/octanol system were carried out by spectrophotometry. The antibacterial activities in vitro of some synthesized compounds were evaluated on a "Staphylococus aureus" strain in a Mûller-Hintone medium, showing good activity for some of them. All the synthesized compounds are characterized by IR, (1)H NMR and mass spectroscopy (ESI-MS).

In this paper we have investigated the kinetic decomposition of 2-chloroethylnitrososulfamides (CENS) in fetal calf serum. The study was monitored by on-line solid phase extraction linked to RP-LC-MS. We demonstrated that CENS are less stable in fetal calf serum than in aqueous buffer at pH 7.4 and 37 degrees C. Moreover, we have shown that partition coefficient of CENS can be correlated to the kinetics decomposition, and we observe that the stability is better for lipophilic CENS. The different metabolites after decomposition have been tentatively identified by RP-HPLC-MS. This study indicates the formation of several metabolites resulting from a mechanism of decomposition more complex than in aqueous phosphate buffer, nevertheless, leading to the same main products.

The kinetics decomposition of 2-chloroethylnitrososulfamides (CENS) was studied in aqueous buffered solutions with pH ranging from 0 to 14. The study was monitored by RP-LC-MS and conventional UV spectrophotometry. The reaction proceeded via a pseudo-first-order kinetic with significant correlation coefficient. The major decomposition products from CENS after incubation in phosphate buffer were isolated and identified by NMR and mass spectrometry. The results indicate that the mechanism pathway involves a denitrosation of the CENS and competitive hydrolysis with nucleophilic attack on the sulfur atom and formation of sulfamate compounds.

A study of inclusion complexes of six N-sulfamoyloxazolidinone derivatives with beta-cyclodextrin is described. The inclusion complexes were prepared in solution and in solid state with stoichiometry host-guest 1:1, and characterized. In solution, the complexation was carried out by spectrophotometric measurements at 25 degrees C. The stoichiometries and stability constants of complexes at various pHs have been determined using second-derivative spectrophotometry UV-vis. Hydrophobic properties of N-sulfamoyloxazolidinones are improved following their inclusion into beta-CD.

Host-guest association between four CENS (derivated from piperidine, dibenzylamine, dicyclohexylamine and methyl prolinate) and beta-cyclodextrin was carried out in solution and solid state. Characterisation, stoichiometry, solubility, dissociation constants and stability of such complexes were studied, showing that the inclusion with beta-CD appears as a promising mode of formulation of 2-chloroethylnitrososulfamides.

A new series of alkylating agents, 2-chloroethylnitrososulfamides (CENS), were developed on the model of 2-chloroethylnitrosoureas. Starting from chlorosulfonyl isocyanate, a four-step synthesis (carbamoylation-sulfamoylation, Mitsunobu alkylation, deprotection, and nitrosation) gives the title compounds in a 47-58% overall yield. The selection of the nitrosation site can be directed through an alternative route. The pharmacological evaluation shows a significant oncostatic activity towards both A549 and MCF7 cell lines.
