Abstract

The article reports on the redescription of the intertidal sea anemone Anthopleura thallia (An. thallia) considering the recent collections in England and Ireland. It explores the historical recordings of An. thallia and the lack of data to distinguish species and genera in the family Actiniidae. The study reveals a sympatric relationship between An. thallia and Aulactinia verrucosa with distinct differences in couloration, internal anatomy, and the types of cnidae in the body.
