Exposure to advertisement is considered to be the primary source of indulgence and distraction for children. Past studies have treated children as both empowered and vulnerable. Empowered because after a certain age children become mature enough to understand the difference between entertainment and persuasion, but before reaching that stage children are extremely naïve. This paper aims to explore the changes in childrens' attitude towards frequent changes in advertising campaigns with reference to a popular product of a famous chocolate multinational brand in India. Four focus groups comprising of 22 children of both the genders between the age group of 8–14 years participated in the study. Selective advertisement from a period of three decades (1983–2016) were chosen and shown to the children in a birthday party and their responses were collected. Congruency Theory of Social Psychology was applied for the analysis of the excerpts. The findings reveals that frequent changes in advertising campaigns create confusion in the minds of the children. The entertainment and empathy towards the advertisement were reduced considerably when the advertisement execution shifted from children to adults. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Background: Many new systems of yoga have emerged in India in the last few centuries. Their uniqueness lies in their distinct philosophy and methods. Clear understanding of the aims and methods of any system of yoga is essential to attain its desired goal. Aim: The objective of this paper is to study Sri Aurobindo's Integral Yoga and to see if its aims and methods are new and differ from those of the traditional systems of yoga. Methods: The current study used the descriptive method, wherein there was comparison of content from texts. Sri Aurobindo's books on yoga and other reference works constituted the primary and secondary sources, respectively. Results: Based on analysis of the content referred to, it has been observed that the aims and methods of Integral Yoga are new. Conclusion: The study revealed the fact that even though Integral Yoga synthesizes various Indian traditional systems of yoga, due to its distinct aims and methods, we can consider it as a new yoga. The paper discusses the author's meeting and a counselling encounter in Varanasi (formerly known as Banaras) with a former High Court Judge, who has renounced the material world, excised all his attachments, abandoned his wife, his children, his grandchildren and a luxurious and prestigious life-style, and taken on the mantle of a sanyasi in search of enlightenment and nirvana. He has left his hometown and for the past two to three years has been living on the banks of the river Ganges in Varanasi, the holiest of holy cities in India, leading the life of a mendicant, living off the charity of the hordes of pilgrims who come to Varanasi all around the year. Owing to technological advancement, globalization, migration, social and cultural change, counseling needs have increased manifold in almost every segment of Indian mainland - be it school, corporate house, social sector etc. Yet counseling services, courses or training available in India is not at par with the need of the hour. Indian counselling services is still at great risk of remaining estranged from contextual realities. The challenge before Indian counselling fraternity is to discover and develop a fresh and relevant Psychology of counselling. The article comments on the vision of Pittu Laungani, social scientist and researcher, regarding building multicultural counseling bridges and his several works on psychology. The author agreed with Laungani on the four continua and eight pillars that support the efforts on improving counseling across cultures. He discusses the four continua as mentioned in the works of Laungani which include individualism, communalism, free will or determinism, and material or spiritual continuum. He said that Laungani raises an important question on ethics which is the ethical universalism against ethical relativism. It points out that there is a real need for counseling and psychotherapy in urban areas of Japan and India.
