The Brazilian civil construction industry is one of the largest consumers of wood in the country. The majority of wood is used as formwork to build concrete structures and is discarded at the end of the construction process. This study presents an innovative structural system that uses a type of partial cross-section precast system with thin reinforced concrete flat plates, which are transported and assembled at the construction site and act as permanent formwork with structural function. The major advantages of this system include the reduction of transport costs; easier assembly of the structural elements because of its low weight; and the possibility of idealizing and designing rigid connections between structural elements, improvement of the structural behavior and postive impact on the material economy. This paper presents construction details, tests results, and some real cases where partial cross-section beams and columns were successfully applied in Brazil. L’industrie civile de la construction au Brésil est l’un des plus grands consommateurs de bois du pays. Le bois est principalement utilisé comme coffrage pour les structures en béton et est jeté après la construction. Cette étude présente un système structural novateur utilisant un type de système préfabriqué à section efficace partielle pourvu de minces plaques plates en béton armé transportées et assemblées sur le site de construction où il agit comme coffrage permanent offrant une fonction structurale. Les principaux avantages de ce système sont la réduction des coûts de transport, un assemblage plus facile des éléments structuraux en raison de leur faible poids, et la possibilité de concevoir des connections rigides optimales entre les éléments structuraux, améliorant ainsi le comportement structural et économisant les matériaux. Cet article présente les détails de construction, les résultats des essais et certains cas existants où des poutres et des colonnes à section efficace partielle ont été utilisées avec succès au Brésil. The Asian subterranean termite, Coptotermes gestroi, originally from northeast India through Burma, Thailand, Malaysia, and the Indonesian archipelago, is a major termite pest introduced in several countries around the world, including Brazil. We sequenced the mitochondrial COII gene from individuals representing 23 populations. Phylogenetic analysis of COII gene sequences from this and other studies resulted in two main groups: (1) populations of Cleveland (USA) and four populations of Malaysia and (2) populations of Brazil, four populations of Malaysia, and one population from each of Thailand, Puerto Rico, and Key West (USA). Three new localities are reported here, considerably enlarging the distribution of C. gestroi in Brazil: Campo Grande (state of Mato Grosso do Sul), Itajaí (state of Santa Catarina), and Porto Alegre (state of Rio Grande do Sul). Le termite souterrain Coptotermes gestroi, originaire du nord-est de l'Inde et présent en Birmanie, Thaïlande, Malaisie et l'archipel indonésien, est un insecte nuisible introduit dans plusieurs pays du monde dont le Brésil. Les auteurs ont séquencé le gène mitochondrial COII chez des individus représentant 23 populations. L'analyse phylogénétique des séquences COII issues de cette étude et d'autres études antérieures a permis de former deux groupes principaux : (1) populations de Cleveland (É-U) et quatre populations de la Malaisie et (2) populations du Brésil, quatre populations de la Malaisie, une de la Thaïlande, une de Porto Rico et une de Key West (É-U). Trois nouvelles localités sont rapportées ici et augmentent considérablement l'aire de distribution du C. gestroi au Brésil : Campo Grande (état du Mato Grosso do Sul), Itajaí (état de Santa Catarina) et Porte Alegre (état de Rio Grande do Sul).
