Insufficient compaction of the subgrade can result in nonuniform deformation, leading to severe subgrade distress. To address this issue and find a new method for rapid detection and evaluation of subgrade compaction, we used the lightweight deflectometer (LWD) to analyze the dynamic deformation modulus (Evd) of subgrades filled with four types of soils—silt (ML), well-graded gravel (GW), lean clay (CL), and poorly graded sand (SP)—in different regions of Gansu province, China. Concurrently, we measured the degree of compaction (Doc) using the sand replacement method (SRM) to establish its correlation with dynamic deformation modulus (Evd). A strong correlation between the degree of compaction and dynamic deformation modulus was established for soils ML, GW, CL, and SP, and suitable formulas were selected based on curve variations. The developed formulas enabled back-calculation of the dynamic deformation modulus requirements corresponding to different degrees of compaction ranging from 90 to 100, facilitating direct queries and quick field checks. Results demonstrated that the LWD, as a reliable rapid detection method, effectively controlled subgrade compaction quality in field construction. Moreover, it extended the testing area and increased measurement frequency, thus providing a practical means for quickly evaluating the qualification rate and uniformity of subgrade compaction. When we build roads, most subgrade underneath the roads needs to be filled with soil. If we don't pack the soil properly in the filling process, the subgrade can crack and become uneven over time. It's hard to fix this problem once the road is open, so it's important to make sure the soil is packed tightly enough before the road is finished. There are two ways to check if the soil is packed properly: one is a traditional method called the sand replacement method, and the other is a machine called the lightweight deflectometer. These methods help identify insufficient compaction of the subgrade and prevent uneven deformation problems during the filling process. What's more, the lightweight deflectometer is a fast, convenient, and reliable tool that can assist or serve as an alternative to the traditional sand replacement method for controlling subgrade construction quality. Steel slag has been investigated as a potential aggregate for pavement-wearing courses in road engineering. The volume stability, resistance to high and low temperatures, and water stability for asphalt mixtures containing steel slag have been widely studied. As for the skid resistance, previous studies have primarily focused on the initial performance. The relationship between the steel slag's appearance morphology and skid resistance during the wearing process remains to be further explored. It is essential to undertake a comparative study on the long-term skid resistance of steel slag and conventional aggregates to address the differences. This research picked two steel slags and two types of conventional aggregates (granite and limestone) as research samples. The chosen aggregate samples underwent various degrees of wear treatment with the Los Angeles abrasion machine, and their angularity was examined utilizing an aggregate image measurement system (AIMS). Based on the polishing pre-treatment, the micro-texture of the aggregates was observed with the assistance of a laser confocal microscope, and its correlation with skid resistance was determined. British pendulum number (BPN) tests were also conducted and analyzed at various polishing durations. The results show that steel slag has a low abrasion rate and higher initial angularity and abrasion resistance compared to natural stones. The micro-texture analysis demonstrates that steel slags have a coarser roughness, more contact points, and more durable abrasion resistance. Additionally, the fluctuations in BPN further prove that steel slag has superior initial and sustained skid resistance. Developing robust and efficient nonprecious metal-based electrocatalysts toward hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) is a big challenge for green and sustainable energy since insufficient catalytic activity and poor stability of current catalysts cannot meet the application requirements. This work reports a freestanding HER electrode FeNiCuAlMo prepared by arc-melting and chemical dealloying methods. The HER performance firstly improves and then declines with the increase of dealloying time. When the dealloying time is 3 h, the electrode shows optimal catalytic performance. The fabricated electrode is composed of AlMo 3 and Al 5 CuMo 2 , where micro-sized AlMo 3 particles are embedded in cellular dendritic Al 5 CuMo 2. Impressively, it displays excellent HER performance, including a small overpotential of 173 mV at a current density of 500 mA/cm2 and outstanding long-term stability for 100 h of continuous hydrogen evolution at 1000 mA/cm2 in an alkaline electrolyte without obvious attenuation. The intrinsic activity of the electrodes combined intermetallic compounds with hierarchical porous structure provides several effects, including enhanced massive active sites, electrolyte access, electron transport, and fast gas release that contribute jointly to enhancing HER activities. The micro-sized AlMo 3 particles provide robust framework for the dendritic Al 5 CuMo 2 active sites center, allowing the exposure of enough active sites and simultaneously maintaining good stability. The highly stable and active electrocatalytic HER property makes it as a promising candidate for practical hydrogen production. Gelatin-polysaccharide interactions have garnered significant attention in recent years due to their profound effects on the properties (rheology and structure) of various food products. This study investigates the interaction between Lycium barbarum polysaccharide (LBP) and gelatin, focusing on the impact of different concentrations LBP (0–2.0%, w/v) on gelation behavior, water mobility, and gelatin structure. The results show that the addition of LBP initially increases and then decreases the gel strength and hardness of the gelatin. Incorporating LBP into gelatin leads to decreased brightness, gelling temperature (T g), gelation rate (k gel), immobile water content, and residue, while increasing the redness, yellowness, bound and free water content, and thermal stability. Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), x-ray diffractometer (XRD), cryogenic scanning electron microscopy (Cryo-SEM), and atomic force microscopy (AFM) analyses provide evidence for the existence of hydrogen bonds, electrostatic interactions, and ionic bond interactions between LBP and gelatin, in addition to covalent bonds formed through the Maillard reaction. Moreover, LBP induces changes in the structure of gelatin, including alterations in secondary structure, crystalline structure, and microstructure. AFM observations further indicate that LBP promotes the formation of gelatin aggregates. These findings present promising avenues for the application of LBP-gelatin composite gels as novel materials in the food industries. Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) are adult stem cells that can be obtained, enriched and proliferated in vitro. They owned enormous potential in fields like regenerative medicine, tissue engineering and immunomodulation. However, though isolated from the same origin, MSCs are still essentially heterogeneous cell populations with different phenotypes and functions. This heterogeneity of MSCs significantly affects their therapeutic efficacy and brings obstacles to scientific research. Thus, reliable sorting technology which can isolate or purify MSC subpopulations with various potential and differentiation pathways is urgently needed. This review summarized principles, application status and clinical implications for these sorting methods, aiming at improving the understanding of MSC heterogeneity as well as providing fresh perspectives for subsequent clinical applications. Summary: Rice false smut caused by Ustilaginoidea virens is a devastating rice (Oryza sativa) disease worldwide. However, the molecular mechanisms underlying U. virens–rice interactions are largely unknown. In this study, we identified a secreted protein, Uv1809, as a key virulence factor. Heterologous expression of Uv1809 in rice enhanced susceptibility to rice false smut and bacterial blight. Host‐induced gene silencing of Uv1809 in rice enhanced resistance to U. virens, suggesting that Uv1809 inhibits rice immunity and promotes infection by U. virens. Uv1809 suppresses rice immunity by targeting and enhancing rice histone deacetylase OsSRT2‐mediated histone deacetylation, thereby reducing H4K5ac and H4K8ac levels and interfering with the transcriptional activation of defence genes. CRISPR‐Cas9 edited ossrt2 mutants showed no adverse effects in terms of growth and yield but displayed broad‐spectrum resistance to rice pathogens, revealing a potentially valuable genetic resource for breeding disease resistance. Environmental exposure would cause DNA damage and epigenetic modification changes, potentially resulting in physiological dysfunction, thereby triggering diseases and even cancer. DNA damage and epigenetic modifications are thus promising biomarkers for environmental exposures and disease states. Benefiting from its high sensitivity and accuracy, high-performance liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (UHPLC-MS/MS) is considered the "gold standard technique" for investigating epigenetic DNA modifications. This review summarizes the recent advancements of UHPLC-MS/MS-based technologies for DNA damage and epigenetic modifications analysis, mainly focusing on the innovative methods developed for UHPLC-MS/MS-related pretreatment technologies containing efficient genomic DNA digestion and effective removal of the inorganic salt matrix, and the new strategies for improving detection sensitivity of liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry. In this research, long-term monitoring data from 2020 to 2023 were used to characterize O3 pollution in a typical inland city in northwest China (34°21′ N 109°30′ E), which indicated that ozone pollution yielded typical regular fluctuations and high ozone concentrations from April to September were observed. Ozone varied in the range of 16–176 μg/m3, and maximum peaks were found usually at 14:00–17:00 in June and July. Correlation analysis showed a significant positive relationship between ozone and temperature, with correlation coefficients of 0.93. The wind speed exhibits a similar variation as ozone. Meanwhile, negative correlations were not so notably observed among ozone, humidity, VOCs, and NOx. Finally, the empirical kinetic model OZIPR (Ozone Isopleth Plotting Program for Research) was employed to analyze the sensitivity relationship among ozone and precursor compounds by calculating EMKA (Empirical Kinetics Modeling Approach) curves. The EKMA analysis results showed that during the whole ozone pollution period, ozone formation is mainly dominated by VOCs due to all the ratios of VOCs/NOx which fell in the VOCs control region. Dielectric capacitors are desired for electronics and electrical power systems because of their fast charge–discharge speed and high‐power density. Nevertheless, dielectric capacitors typically exhibit lower energy densities in comparison to other energy storage systems like batteries or fuel cells. Among dielectrics, antiferroelectrics have shown great promise for high energy density because of their characteristic double hysteresis loops. However, current antiferroelectric capacitors still face challenges of low efficiency and low breakdown strength due to their large hysteresis, which is harmful to energy efficiency and reliability of the system. Herein, by engineering the nanoscale heterogeneity to mitigate hysteresis and controlling orientation to enhance the polarization, the exceptional energy storage performance of antiferroelectric (Pb0.97La0.02)(Zr0.55Sn0.45)O3 epitaxial thin films is demonstrated. Atomic‐resolution transmission electron microscopy and X‐ray reciprocal space mapping confirm the presence of nanoscale structural heterogeneity, characterized by fragmented antipolar nanodomains. These films exhibit remarkable energy densities, reaching up to ≈84.5 J cm−3, coupled with ultrahigh efficiencies of up to ≈98.5% and superior stability, maintaining efficiencies above 92% across a wide field range of ≈5 MV cm−1. Background: Hair follicle stem cells (HFSCs) typically remain quiescent and are activated only during the transition from telogen to anagen to ensure that the hair follicle enters a new cycle. The metabolic behavior of stem cells in tissues is regulated by macroautophagy/autophagy, and changes in HFSC metabolism directly affect their activation and maintenance. However, the role of autophagy in the regulation of HFSC metabolism and function remains unclear. Methods: Back skin samples were obtained from mice at different hair follicle cycle stages, and immunofluorescence staining was used to monitor autophagy in HFSCs. Mouse and human hair follicles were treated with rapamycin (Rapa, an autophagy activator) or 3-methyladenine (3-MA, an autophagy inhibitor). The effects of autophagy on the hair follicle cycle and HFSC were investigated by imaging, cell proliferation staining, and HFSC-specific marker staining. The influence and mechanism of autophagy on HFSC metabolism were explored using RNA sequencing, real-time polymerase chain reaction, immunohistochemical staining, and detection of lactate and glucose concentrations. Finally, the influence of autophagy-induced glycolysis on HFSC and the hair follicle cycle was verified by stem cell characteristics and in vivo functional experiments. Results: Autophagy in HFSC was highest during the transition from telogen to anagen. Inhibiting autophagy with 3-MA led to early entry into catagen and prolonged telogen, whereas Rapa promoted autophagy and hair growth. Autophagy activated HFSC by increasing the expression and activity of HFSC lactate dehydrogenase (Ldha), thereby transforming HFSC metabolism into glycolysis. Inhibition of Ldha expression counteracted the effects of autophagy. Background: As a vital type of noncoding RNAs, circular RNAs (circRNAs) play important roles in plant growth and development and stress response. However, little is known about the biological roles of circRNAs in regulating the stability of male fertility restoration for cytoplasmic male sterility (CMS) conditioned by Gossypium harknessii cytoplasm (CMS-D2) cotton under high-temperature (HT) stress. Results: In this study, RNA-sequencing and bioinformatics analysis were performed on pollen grains of isonuclear alloplasmic near-isogenic restorer lines NH [N(Rf1rf1)] and SH [S(Rf1rf1)] with obvious differences in fertility stability under HT stress at two environments. A total of 967 circRNAs were identified, with 250 differentially expressed under HT stress. We confirmed the back-splicing sites of eight selected circRNAs using divergent primers and Sanger sequencing. Tissue-specific expression patterns of five differentially expressed circRNAs (DECs) were also verified by RT-PCR and qRT-PCR. Functional enrichment and metabolic pathway analysis revealed that the parental genes of DECs were significantly enriched in fertility-related biological processes such as pollen tube guidance and cell wall organization, as well as the Pentose and glucuronate interconversions, Steroid biosynthesis, and N-Glycan biosynthesis pathways. Moreover, we also constructed a putative circRNA-mediated competing endogenous RNA (ceRNA) network consisting of 21 DECs, eight predicted circRNA-binding miRNAs, and their corresponding 22 mRNA targets, especially the two ceRNA modules circRNA346-miR159a-MYB33 and circRNA484-miR319e-MYB33, which might play important biological roles in regulating pollen fertility stability of cotton CMS-D2 restorer line under HT stress. Conclusions: Through systematic analysis of the abundance, characteristics and expression patterns of circRNAs, as well as the potential functions of their parent genes, our findings suggested that circRNAs and their mediated ceRNA networks acted vital biological roles in cotton pollen development, and might be also essential regulators for fertility stability of CMS-D2 restorer line under heat stress. This review explores key aspects of DNA-functionalized AuNPs, including their synthesis methods, properties, and biosensing applications. It starts by delving deeply into the interactions between DNA and AuNPs, emphasizing their role in material customization and highlighting the advantages and applicability of each technique. Furthermore, the review thoroughly evaluates the latest synthesis methods developed from shielding the charger repulsion and extremely compressing the physical space. It showcases the potential of DNA-functionalized AuNPs in addressing complex challenges for biosensing applications. This synergistic relationship has propelled advancements in nanotechnology, facilitating the integration of life sciences, medicine, and nanotechnology, and expanding the application domains of these novel biomimetic nanocomposite materials. • In previous temperature field reconstructions, the inherent delays introduced by acoustic sensors were often overlooked in the actual measurement of acoustic signals.In this paper, we propose a Spatio-Temporal Feature Extraction (STFE) method that takes into account this delay information to achieve more accurate temperature field reconstruction. • No one has done time-series prediction in the highly dynamic and nonlinear background of temperature field before, especially the location of each path is different, it is more difficult to do time-series prediction with time in different dimensions, and this paper contributes to the time-series prediction in this aspect. • The problem of time resolution of the reconstructed image of the temperature field has been solved after reconstructing the measured time-of -flight (TOF) and, at the same time, a great contribution has been made to both the accuracy and the overall error of the reconstruction of the position of the temperature field. The temperature distribution within a furnace chamber is a key parameter reflecting the combustion condition of the boiler, and acoustic tomography provides an accurate quantitative reconstruction of the temperature distribution within the chamber's overlay. However, during the measurement process of acoustic tomography, the inherent latency in ultrasonic sensor data acquisition is a challenge for the real-time detection of the temperature field. When using ultrasonic sensors to measure the time-of-flight (TOF) of acoustic waves in the furnace chamber, the temperature properties of the chamber are recorded at different time points due to the sequential nature of signal transmission and reception, and the propagation paths of the recordings are different at different moments due to the different installation locations of the sensors, so utilizing this temporal information to reconstruct the temperature field is a complex challenge. The aim of this study is to accurately reconstruct the temperature field at each moment by utilizing the TOF of different attributes. To this end, a sophisticated multi-dimensional time series analytical framework is proposed to elucidate the temperature field dynamics informed by TOF variations by extracting its temporal and spatial features, respectively, to more accurately simulate the evolution process in real engineering. Firstly, the graph structure of each acoustic wave propagation path is established. Spatial correlations are derived from Pearson correlation analysis to form the "equivalent path" matrix. Subsequently, non-negative matrix decomposition is employed to determine the weight of each position. Concurrently, the TOF matrix is utilized to extract temporal features and calculate the time weights corresponding to different temperature field conditions. These two coefficient matrices are reorganized to reconstruct the real-time temperature field for a specific frame. The reconstruction not only precisely delineates the temperature field's variations during the measurement process but also significantly improves the fidelity of reconstruction. Coverage search is widely applied in the maritime military and civilian fields. To improve search efficiency and detection accuracy, we propose an effective and rapid multi-autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV) coverage path planning (ER-MCPP) algorithm using side-scan sonar (SSS). First, the given search region was optimized and modeled using grid decomposition. Next, a Voronoi diagram was used to divide and allocate the regions according to the initial position of the AUV. Subsequently, based on the idea of guidance, navigation, and control (GNC), a coverage search algorithm for a single AUV was proposed, including a path planning method combining improved lawn mower and outward-spiral methods, an integrated navigation method based on Kalman filtering, and a path tracking method considering ocean currents. In addition, we proposed a fault-tolerant control method. When an AUV fails unexpectedly, the other AUVs can accomplish a coverage search for the region through cooperation. Simulation experiments were performed using the MATLAB software. The results demonstrate that the proposed algorithm is valid. Compared with other methods, our algorithm has better robustness, finds targets more rapidly, and has a higher search efficiency. • A novel model based on GAT for multi-fault detection and identification of sensors in nuclear power plant. • The attention score matrix (α matrix) of GAT is used to fully learn the correlation between sensors and is used for reconstruction. • A strategy based on fault decoupling is proposed for multi-fault identification of sensors. The accuracy of sensor's measurements is critical for the normal operation of nuclear power plants. However, the harsh operating environment of nuclear power plants increases the probability of sensor failure. Therefore, it is necessary to detect and identify the fault of sensors in time. This paper proposes a fault detection model based on graph attention network, which is called ALPHA-GAT, to solve multiple fault detection and identification of sensors in the primary coolant loop of a nuclear power plant. ALPHA-GAT first uses GAT to obtain the correlation matrices of sensors, and the correlation matrices are fed into an adversarial autoencoder for reconstruction. The node features of the GAT are parallelly fed into a long short-term memory network to predict the ground truth of sensors. Subsequently, the anomaly score which is used for fault detection and identification, is calculated based on reconstruction error and prediction error. A strategy based on fault decoupling to identify multi-sensor faults has also been proposed, which replaces the data of fault sensor with the prediction of the model. This strategy effectively alleviates the negative impact of fault data on subsequent diagnosis. Finally, the data from a simulation model of a nuclear power plant is used to verify the efficiency of the proposed model. The progression from naive through formative to primed in vitro pluripotent stem cell states recapitulates epiblast development in vivo during the peri-implantation period of mouse embryo development. Activation of the de novo DNA methyltransferases and reorganization of transcriptional and epigenetic landscapes are key events that occur during these pluripotent state transitions. However, the upstream regulators that coordinate these events are relatively underexplored. Here, using Zfp281 knockout mouse and degron knockin cell models, we identify the direct transcriptional activation of Dnmt3a/3b by ZFP281 in pluripotent stem cells. Chromatin co-occupancy of ZFP281 and DNA hydroxylase TET1, which is dependent on the formation of R-loops in ZFP281-targeted gene promoters, undergoes a "high-low-high" bimodal pattern regulating dynamic DNA methylation and gene expression during the naive-formative-primed transitions. ZFP281 also safeguards DNA methylation in maintaining primed pluripotency. Our study demonstrates a previously unappreciated role for ZFP281 in coordinating DNMT3A/3B and TET1 functions to promote pluripotent state transitions. Fatigue of steel corrugated-web girders (CWGs) is a new research topic. This study uses trapezoidal corrugated-web T-section members (CWTs) to lower the cost of fatigue tests when investigating the fatigue behavior of a trapezoidal CWG. First, static tests were conducted, and the CWG under a bending moment and CWT under an axial force were compared, which verified that the flanges had the same stress distribution characteristics under equivalent loads. This demonstrates that it is suitable to investigate the fatigue behavior of a CWG using a CWT. Second, fatigue tests were performed on trapezoidal CWT specimens with two different waveform radii, R30 and R60, and their hot spot stress concentration factors at the fatigue critical location of CWG (the intersection between a parallel fold and an inclined fold of a web) were obtained, which reached 1.63 and 1.54, respectively. Of the 18 CWT specimens that experienced fatigue failure, 72 % of the initial cracks occurred at point S, indicating that this location was the most susceptible to fatigue cracking. The same S-N curve (log 10 N = 12.928-3log 10 Δ σ hs) could be applied in calculating the fatigue strengths of CWTs with different wave radii (R30 and R60) when the hot spot stress range that considered the stress concentration factor (SCF) was used.
