Industrial energy management is critical to ensuring efficient energy usage, market viability, and greenhouse gas emission reductions. In this study, the aim is to investigate energy management practices in paper and pulp industries (PPI) of Bangladesh. The study identifies several barriers to adopt energy management practices; "Lack of governmental attention", "Inadequate staff awareness" and "limited access to capital" are identified as the major constraints. In addition, HVAC systems and compressed air systems present higher barriers compared to electrical motor and pump systems while looking at the barriers by technology areas. On the other hand, "Owner's demand", "Commitment from the top management" and "Pressure from the customers and different non-Governmental organization" are found to be the dominant drivers of energy management in the studied PPI. Energy management practices can enhance the energy efficiency approximately by 4–5 % according to the study. This study aims to validate a data collection tool's psychometric properties to explore whether business management research's relevance is a high-order construct made up of its perceived interest and perceived relevance. The authors conducted a confirmatory factor analysis to validate a two-factor scale. The sample was composed of 148 MBA students from a Peruvian business school. Results showed the appropriate levels of validity and reliability and confirmed the usefulness of this data set for exploring the relationship between perceived interest and relevance. Businesses and schools can replicate the validated tool for reviewing their curricula and teaching practices, exploring the gap between business and management research results and advancing managers' research literacy and evidence-based practice in business education and training. The research aims to describe the state of enterprise risk management (ERM) in the insurance sector. It highlights emerging trends in the application of risk management in the insurance sector and thereby reports the prominent research gaps and new avenues for research in ERM. The research adopts a systematic literature review (SLR) approach, using 187 research papers spanning 44 years (1977–2021). The paper identifies the fact that most ERM and insurance sector research is performed in North America and Europe, while developing economies in Asia and Africa lag. The paper establishes a three-way relationship between ERM, risk management (RM) and risk-based capital (RBC) where RM is a subset of ERM and RBC is a driver of ERM. The research shows that very few studies are conducted on risk culture, three lines of defence and the role of chief risk officers. The determinants of ERM identified are board, firm size, audit and risk management committee and corporate governance. The determinants identified for firm value are return on assets, return on equity, profit, Tobin's Q, among others. Purpose of this paper is to determine changes in the research trends in the International Journal of Industrial Engineering and Management by analyzing trends and topics covered by its papers that were published from 2010 to 2020 and available in the Scopus database. Keywords and titles of papers were identified. Analysis was conducted both summarized for all eleven years and individually for intervals of three years. Results showed that the most popular topic was mass customization. Also, usage of information technologies in managerial and engineering processes is becoming immensely popular in the last few years. This study aims to analyze the relative efficiency of graduate programs in terms of the quality of their scientific publications in journals. To this end, we applied Data Envelopment Analysis to the fields of Public and Business Administration, Accounting, and Tourism, using data from the 2017 Quadrennial Evaluation developed by the Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior ["Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel", CAPES]. The results suggest that efficient graduate programs are concentrated in the center-south axis of Brazil, in the areas of Administration and Accounting. Despite the overall publishing strategy in journals of various ranks (strata), efficient graduate programs allocate their efficiency primarily to Qualis A1 journals, A1 being the excellence rating in the CAPES scale. We conclude that legitimized research practices pressure graduate programs to improve the quality of their publications while threatening the survival of programs that fail to conform to the assessment rules. Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) has emerged as a response to globalization and regulatory pressure on firms to manage their risk comprehensively. CSR is related to corporate risk management, as by engaging in CSR activities firms can be more effective in managing stakeholder relationships. Extant studies rarely examine both issues to the level of digital transformation. In the coming years, the issue of digital transformation will have an even bigger impact on business models. The first step in the effective implementation of ERM is the ability of the organization to learn and understand the requirements of ERM implementation in its company. Thus, it is important to examine the effect of the maturity learn element in ERM and CSR as risk management on the level of digital transformation. In addition, this paper also examines the moderating role of CSR on the association between ERM and the level of digital transformation. Our samples consist of manufacturing companies of developed countries in the European Union (which consists of Italy, Spain, Belgium Switzerland, Germany, France, and UK). The paper found evidence that enterprise risk management has a positive significant effect on the level of digital transformation. The paper also found evidence that CSR has a direct effect on the level of digital transformation. The Journal of Business Economics and Management (JBEM) has been very active in the field of economics and management science and brought many influential outputs in the last decades. This paper investigated the current status of publications and citations from JBEM and explored the hot topics and new trends represented by most used keywords extracted from the published articles from 2007 to 2019. The data were analyzed and mapped with respect to the most cited literature, most prolific authors, and publication records categorized by authors, institutions and countries. The analysis revealed that papers published each year by the JBEM is relatively stable and published papers has an expected citation number 7.68 times. The difference in frequency of keywords in different stages give us informative clue for future studies. The emerging topics include "SMEs" "Information" "framework" "perspective", hence the likely focus of JBEM to consider submission of papers centered on these topics, the comparison of keywords between JBEM and Hot Papers & Highly Cited Papers was made as well. Fraud presents a serious problem and arising issue for all of society at national and global levels. According to global fraud research conducted by the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, it is estimated that the average company loses about 5% of its annual revenue due to different types of business fraud. Total estimated annual fraud losses according to global ACFE research reaches about 4.7 trillion dollars. Business frauds also present an important issue for the Croatian economy, business community and society as a whole. Thereby, considerable attention should be given to this issue with the aim of raising awareness throughout society on fraud and its negative and destructive impact on all of society. The main purpose of this paper is to examine differences in fraud characteristics between state-owned and private companies in the Republic of Croatia. Research was based on data on business frauds obtained by the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners Croatia which included 124 respondents. Data were related to frauds that occurred in Croatian companies in 2021 and 2020. In this paper we focused on fraud characteristics such as fraud loss, type of fraud, fraud duration and methods of fraud detection in order to determine whether fraud in privately owned companies differs significantly from fraud in state-owned companies. Research results revealed how differences in fraud characteristics among privately and state-owned companies exist. Based on a sample of Croatian companies that were victims of fraud, it is noted how fraud in state-owned companies lasts longer and creates greater loses in comparison to fraud in private owned companies. Moreover, data related to estimated fraud loss and fraud duration were statistically significant in terms of differentiating these two groups of companies. Based on data on discriminatory variables a logistic regression model correctly classified 78.46% of companies in the group of companies that are privately or state-owned. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Recent years have seen increasing initiatives involving more applications of real options to value the strategizing process. These initiatives, referred to as Real Option Theory (ROT), imply greater inclusiveness of simple and advanced real options in strategizing processes. While substantial theoretical groundwork on ROT has been laid in corporate finance, and both qualitative and quantitative studies on ROT in business management journals are appearing on an increasing basis, there remain significant opportunities for more research on strategic synergism in patent-based acquisitions. In this vein, the current paper aims to explore a rainbow real options application (real options that are exposed to two sources of uncertainty) to measure patent-based collaborative synergies in high-tech mergers and acquisitions. Adequate enterprise financial risk management (EFRM) represents a leading competitive advantage of enterprises that determines market survival and business success in an uncertain global environment. Over time, EFRM has become a constituent part of integral business dealings of enterprises and one of the strategic functions of enterprise management. The main purpose of the paper is to explore the effects of the EFRM function/system on the financial performance of enterprises in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH). The basic source of data in the research was collected by means of a structured questionnaire. The target population in the research consists of large enterprises that have continuously operated in the territory of BiH (2013-2017). The selection of enterprises was made applying a random sampling method and contains 72 enterprises. Appropriate descriptive and inferential statistical methods were used in the data analysis and panel data analysis was used to assess effects of EFRM function on financial performance. The scientific contribution of the paper is reflected in the fact that the research is pioneering for Bosnia and Herzegovina with the analysis of effects of the EFRM function on enterprise financial performance (EFP). The results show that there are no systematic, statistically significant differences between large enterprises that engage in risk management ('hedgers') and enterprises that do not engage in risk management ('non-hedgers') in BiH. In the last decade, the adoption of technological tools in manufacturing industry, such as the use of the Internet of Things (IoT) and Machine Learning (ML), has led to the advent of the industry 4.0 (I4.0). In this scenario, intelligent devices can generate large volumes of data about industrial machinery and equipment that can be used to make maintenance more efficient. Prognostics and Health Management (PHM) is an emerging maintenance strategy that uses systems' Condition Monitoring through IoT sensors installed on machinery to diagnose their faults or estimate their Remaining Useful Life (RUL). This study aims to conduct a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) on the use of ML techniques in the field of PHM of industrial mechanical systems and equipment. 50 studies resulted eligible for the above-mentioned SLR. Diagnostics and prognostics approach and the ML algorithm types used in the 50 analyzed papers have been analyzed together with the Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) used for their validation. From the analyses, it was found that Shallow Learning and Deep Learning (DL) algorithms are the most applied ones, while KPIs are used differently according to the type of task classification or regression. Moreover, results highlighted that many authors still use artificial datasets to test their algorithms, instead of datasets based on real data retrieved by their components. However, there are obstacles and challenges with the wide-spread applications of this technology. The study aims to present a bibliometric analysis of the journal "Open Journal of Business and Management" towards providing summary of research activities and to characterize the important aspects. The present study is based on the bibliometrics analysis of the papers published during the period 2013-2021. The analysis mainly covers the year-wise distribution, category-wise classification, authorship patterns, degree of collaboration, geographical distribution of articles and the citation analysis. The analysis revealed that during the study period, 703 papers were published. In 2020 (172 articles, 24.46 percent) the maximum number of papers have been published and in 2013 has been the minimum (11 articles, 1.56 percent). The single author (282 papers, 40.02 per cent) followed the two categories of authors was the highest number of papers (31.62 percent). With the rise of Internet of Things (IoT) technology, the seamless connection between the physical and digital worlds has been realized. This review paper aims to conduct a science mapping review of IoT applications in industrial management and to identify mainstream research topics, research gaps, and future research directions. Using VOSviewer as a visualization tool, 142 articles retrieved from the Scopus database were quantitatively discussed using scientometric analysis. Additionally, a follow-up qualitative discussion was focused on mainstream research topics, existing research gaps, and future research directions as the main research goals. The results revealed influential findings for the co-occurrence of keywords, journals, countries, authors, and documents analyses. Moreover, it was found that the existing research mainly focused on four main research topics including (1) application of IoT in manufacturing based on cyber-physical systems, (2) IoT-related technologies on logistics and supply chain management, (3) The impact of IoT on business models, and (4) Industrial IoT (IIoT) in the context of Industry 4.0. On this basis, the existing research gaps and future research directions are proposed. The research reviews conducted by Lo and Chai ([2012]. Quantitative analysis of quality management literature published in total quality management and business excellence (1996–2010). An analysis of the papers published in total quality management & business excellence from 1995 through 2008. Total Quality Management & Business Excellence, 22(3), 373–386. doi:10.1080/14783363.2010.532337) were based on TQM&BE, and together they covered the period between 1995 and 2010. The limitation of these two studies is that the study period ended in 2010. Accordingly, this study extends those previous studies by reviewing papers published between 2010 and 2019. TQM&BE is a suitable object for analysis because it is one of the top journals cited in the quality management field and plays a key role in the quality and scientific knowledge of TQM. This study demonstrated the feasibility of using the (self-organizing map) SOM algorithm to build a topic map. The SOM technique is one of the most popular artificial neural networks (ANNs). Based on this map, six topic areas were identified. In addition, the new identified themes after 2010 include the BE framework, and innovation, learning, team, and design. The results also showed that research on TQM&BE has undergone a shift in focus from a dominance of TQM to service quality, (International Organization for Standardization) ISO, and innovation and learning. Wasta is a concept that is widespread across the Middle East, and practiced as a common and acceptable culture in most Middle East based business organizations. While the wasta practice is common and is followed as part of the usual organizational culture in the Middle East, yet, its implications are not all positive for the overall employee and organizational performance, which will be highlighted in the current paper in detail. It encourages interpersonal connections and networking of individuals to be used in order to obtain jobs, based on personnel connection rather than merit, which has huge negative impacts on the business. This paper, therefore, presents a detailed discussion on wasta and its implications considering business organizations across the Middle East. The tourism sector will be the area of the focus for the present work. The impacts of such activities on the tourism sector are significant on recruitment, teamwork, training, reward system, and overall HRM practices, which raise questions on whether this concept should indeed be as common in practice as it is currently. This paper studied the phenomena of wasta in the Middle East in details and proposed framework for Wasta-free Management. Green credit is changing industrial structure and corporate behavior, but little attention has been paid to the relationship between green credit and corporate cash management behavior. Based on the typical fact that the allocation of traditional bank credit funds is biased towards heavily polluting industries and the exogenous impact event of green credit policy, this paper takes A-share listed companies in China's capital market from 2008 to 2015 as samples, and uses the DID model to investigate the impact of green credit policy on excess cash holdings of heavily polluting enterprises. The findings indicate that the green credit policy has reduced the excessive cash holdings of heavily polluting enterprises, suggesting that it can correct the issue and align their cash holdings with the requirements of normal production and operations. The mechanism test demonstrates that the green credit policy can alleviate agency conflicts and influence enterprise cash holdings. Moreover, a cross-sectional investigation reveals that the inhibitory effect of the green credit policy on cash holdings is more pronounced in large-scale and state-owned enterprises compared to small-scale and non-state-owned enterprises. Finally, an analysis of the economic consequences reveals that the green credit policy indirectly enhances corporate value by reducing excessive cash holdings. Based on this, banks and financial institutions continue to treat the credit granting of heavily polluting enterprises cautiously, optimize the structure of green financial products, fully consider the different types and nature of customers, and develop differentiated lending conditions and diversified evaluation mechanisms. This paper has enriched the research on the economic consequences of green credit and the influencing factors of corporate cash holdings, and provided policy enlightenment for regulators and listed companies to correctly understand and make full use of green credit policies to keep corporate cash stable through the crisis. Purpose: The fundamental objective of the study is to characterise the features that accompany ESG risk management processes in Polish companies financing green investments with a bank credit. Design approach: The study focuses on the observation of changes occurring in the concept and processes of ESG risk management following the so-called Paris Agreement of 2015. The EU regulations standardising the ESG risk management process in companies and banks have been analysed, indicating the differences resulting from them. The inclusion of ESG risks both in creditors and credit recipients is achieved through various channels, determining the extent, and expected outcomes of green investments. Without a doubt, the issue has been receiving considerable research attention in many papers since the energy crisis caused by Russia’s aggression against Ukraine. However, in light of EU regulatory changes and the increased interest of business entities in green financing, uncertainties, and research problems are on the rise in this area. An evident limitation of the conducted research is the lack of empirical data completing the knowledge on the effects of ESG strategies both domestically and in EU member states. Therefore, the paper draws on questionnaire surveys conducted by the authors, as well as on the findings of various reports published on the subject. Findings: The research shows that EU regulations increase the security of financing green investments in both companies and banks. The concept of sustainable development and ESG risk management associated with it have been severely curtailed through their introduction. Nevertheless, there is a fairly substantial area of uncertainty associated with the process of financing green investments. The study analyses its determinants indicating that internal ESG risk management procedures of companies and banks do not eliminate the external risks of financing corporate green investments. Originality/value: The conducted research undoubtedly broadens the knowledge about the role and significance of ESG risk in the green investment financing process. The analysis of studies relating to ESG risk, taking into consideration EU documents, contributed to exposing unexplained, debatable, and unsolvable issues. The questionnaire survey as well as the secondary data obtained made it possible to verify the number of common opinions and statements, along with the main hypothesis of the paper. Purpose: The paper's main aim is a holistic presentation of genuine motives, strategies and patterns of earnings management phenomenon in public companies listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange. Design/methodology/approach: The survey was carried out among 124 finance managers and public companies' accounting services representatives from the Polish capital market. The research sample selection was random (exhaustive testing); the survey was conducted in June-August 2023. Findings: During the research, it turned out that 29% of respondents admitted to implementing EM practices in firms they represent. Interviewees declared the use of various accrual-based and real EM instruments in a complementary way. The dominant EM strategies proved to be income smoothing and avoidance of earnings reduction, while the main reasons for EM implementation respondents included creating the image of a more profitable company (compared to the largest competitors), meeting market analysts' expectations regarding the level of reported financial result and showing better development prospects for the company. Research limitations/implications: This paper allows for identifying the level of willingness to implement earnings management practices among executives of public companies and, as well as measuring the awareness of finance managers and representatives of accounting services regarding the possibilities of using particular instruments and techniques of accrualbased and real earnings management in business practice. Originality/value: This study fills a gap in the literature regarding the accounting data quality reported among listed companies in Poland. Most studies on the issue of earnings management focus on estimating the scale and scope of the practices mentioned above using specific regression models. Empirical research based on survey techniques in which respondents professionally responsible for financial reporting in listed companies would present their views or experiences regarding earnings management is rarely seen. All organizations are impacted by sustainability, both positively and negatively. It is therefore important to assess the sustainability of any human activity, product, or development. Life Cycle Sustainability Assessment (LCSA) is one of the most effective methods for assessing sustainability. The significance of this study is that it highlights significant and key ideas in the subject of LCSA, including research commonality, research trends, model shortcomings, existing appropriate methods, and research gaps using a systematic review of the literature and bibliometric analysis. The developing tendency of reviewing suggests that while sustainability issues are a severe problem for all countries, they will continue to rule social, economic, and environmental issues in the years to come. There are still a lot of uncharted territories. The study found that energy was the most popular topic among related areas of LCSA application. According to the research findings, it was also suggested that LCSA could be improved in future research in the following areas: the development of impact categories to enable study comparison, the definition of coherent system boundaries, the development of impact assessment methodologies, the development of trustworthy databases to enable the evaluation of economic and social perspectives, the development of tools for performing uncertainty analysis and communication strategies. To advance technique development and comprehend the interplay between environmental, economic, and social aspects, more case studies are required. In popular management literature corporations are sometimes loosely compared to cults. The comparison is a severe allegation as it implies the transgression of subordinate employees' integrity. This paper explores to what extent such comparisons with cults are warranted as well as the implications this has for the practice of corporate culture management. On grounds of the author's unique, first-hand experience in both corporate and cultic environments a retrospective autoethnographic (RAE) approach was chosen to further explore the supposed resemblance. The comparison is structured along Lifton's eight criteria of thought reform and reveals that although akin to cults in all aspects corporations also fundamentally differ due to the infeasibility, at least for now, of controlling the corporate environment in totalist fashion. This might explain why so many attempts to change corporate cultures fail as these initiatives are based on the anachronistic idea that culture change can be "implemented" by somehow "inculcating" employees with "company values." The continuous and systematic redesign of key business processes is very important for businesses and organizations that seek to achieve cost savings and efficiency enhancements. Selecting the most impactful processes and ensuring a successful redesign initiative remains an important topic that motivated the authors to conduct a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) on Business Process Redesign (BPR) Evaluation methodologies by applying an established eight-step SLR guide. The review sheds light on the current state of research and highlights the research gap by considering two dimensions of BPR artifacts: (a) the type of evaluation and (b) the generalizability of the existing approaches. The findings indicate that there is a lack of systematic methodologies in literature that properly evaluate the redesign capacity of models prior to implementation. Additionally, the existing methodologies do not cumulatively evaluate the quality characteristics that are necessary for BPR implementation or the applicability of BPR heuristics, and do not bear the generalizability to be readily used in a more general context. This paper aims to provide researchers with the necessary context and motivation to bridge this gap and further systematize BPR methodologies that can preselect the most suitable business processes for redesign. Purpose: This paper examines how manufacturing firms impacted by the nitrogen oxides (NOx) Budget Trading Program (NBP) strategically managed working capital to release funds for increased costs and mitigate the negative impact on firm performance. Design/methodology/approach: The study uses a panel data set including 11,302 manufacturing firm-year observations listed on the US exchanges during the period 2000–2008. The authors use Tobin's Q to proxy for firm performance, and cash holding, cash conversion cycle (CCC), days sales outstanding (DSO), days sales inventory (DSI) and days payable outstanding (DPO) for working capital management (WCM). The empirical analysis is conducted using both ordinary least squares (OLS) and propensity score matching (PSM) regressions. Findings: The authors find that firms respond to the higher utility costs imposed by the NBP by decreasing CCC, DSO and DSI. This active WCM response partially mitigated the impact of increased compliance costs on performance for firms affected by the NBP. Results are robust in PSM regressions. Research limitations/implications: Climate change is a global issue that has attracted increasing attention in recent years. This study shows how firms can adjust short-term financing strategies to address the costs of compliance with climate change regulation. Originality/value: The paper contributes to the emerging literature on corporate finance and climate policy actions. The authors use the unique experimental setting of the NBP to examine the regulatory impact on corporate financial management. The authors demonstrate how firms used active WCM to mitigate the negative performance impact of regulatory compliance with the NBP, providing novel insight on the implication of compliance with climate change legislation. Purpose: This paper aims to review prior management accounting research founded upon family businesses. It presents the status quo, uncovers gaps in existing literature and postulates avenues for future scholarly inquiry. Design/methodology/approach: In carrying out this review, a search was conducted accessing three search engines: Emerald insight, JSTOR and ScienceDirect encompassing journals which have published family business and management accounting research. Accordingly, 50 papers spanning 28 journals were identified as relevant and selected for review. Findings: The review suggests that amid heightened research interest, while literature on management accounting in the realm of family firms has accelerated across time, how peculiarities of family businesses get articulated in the management accounting practices they deploy deserve further study. It also became evident that currently little is known on the use of various traditional and contemporary control practices, sustainability accounting and infusion of new management accounting ideas as well as the use of informal controls, which are very real to family businesses. Research limitations/implications: This paper contributes to the on-going knowledge debates on management accounting in family businesses and provides directions to potential researchers by illuminating the status quo of research and issues of significance which so far has been neglected. Practical implications: This review, being placed at the nexus of management accounting and family businesses, offers lessons and insights to family business owners, managers and policymakers for the smooth functioning of businesses using management accounting insights. Originality/value: Although a vast majority of family business studies in management accounting and controls have been published from 2013 onward, existing reviews capture publications up to 2012. Purpose: The purpose of this study is to explore the knowledge network-based intellectual capital of corporate universities and its co-evolution process with knowledge management activities. Design/methodology/approach: An exploratory and multiple case study was conducted, investigating three Chinese corporate universities. Grounded theory was used for data analysis. Findings: This paper finds that the intellectual capital of corporate universities comprises teacher network capital, knowledge process capital and knowledge ba. The steering wheel model is established through the synergistic interaction and promotion among these three types of intellectual capital. The interaction between intellectual capital and the knowledge network within corporate universities constructs the intellectual capital network, which plays the roles of coordinator, knowledge gatekeeper and innovation bridge. The intellectual capital of corporate universities is characterized by sequential inertia. Moreover, the intellectual capital and intellectual capital network are aligned with knowledge management activities at each stage of corporate university development, interacting and following the principles of ladder evolution. Originality/value: A significant contribution of this paper lies in applying the concept of intellectual capital within the fourth-stage ecosystem to a broader range of knowledge networks. By exploring the dynamics and network of intellectual capital in corporate universities, especially the role of intellectual capital networks and the synergy between intellectual capital and knowledge management activities, this study enriches the existing research on knowledge management and intellectual capital of corporate universities. Purpose: This paper aims to theoretically and empirically demonstrate the role played by business continuity management (BCM) to address risks such as trade conflicts and natural disasters. This paper also answers whether compliance with international standards such as the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 22301 is adequate. Design/methodology/approach: A case study of Chinese telecommunications giant Huawei is conducted to examine how a robust end-to-end BCM system has been established in two decades and in what way it has helped Huawei to efficiently maintain growth under pressure, such as being added to the "Entity List" and the pandemic. Findings: Huawei case contributes to BCM theory in its approach to establishing the BCM system and its well-established BCM model. Huawei establishes and continually improves its BCM system by applying the Plan (establish), Do (implement and operate), Check (monitor and review) and Act (maintain and improve) cycle. Characterized as 4Ps: BCM policy, BCM process, incident management plan and business continuity plan, Huawei BCM system is shaped into a loop with end-to-end BCM process, covering all steps along its value chain – from suppliers and partners to Huawei itself and then on to its customers – with key initiatives for all domains such as R&D, procurement, manufacturing, logistics and global technical services. In practice, implementing international standards such as ISO 22301 enables Huawei to develop business continuity but not enough. Optimizing the BCM system is an ongoing effort, and BCM maturity is ever present: continually improving Huawei's own BCM system and benchmarking against best practices available worldwide. Research limitations/implications: Apart from the case study, other methods such as counter-factual analysis can be used to further test whether Huawei's BCM system is cost-effective. Another direction for future study is whether suggested BCM maturity levels should be supplemented into ISO 22301. In the digital age, how to use digitalization to ensure business continuity is a current issue not just for practitioners such as Huawei but also for researchers worldwide. Practical implications: In practice, implementing international standards such as ISO 22301 enables Huawei to develop business continuity but not enough. Optimizing the BCM system is an ongoing effort, and BCM maturity is ever present: continually improving Huawei's own BCM system and benchmarking against best practices available worldwide. Lighting has emerged as a central concern in the domain of city planning and design in recent decades. Better lighting does more than just make cities safer and more secure; it also makes them more aesthetically pleasing and easier to live in. A single type of optical sensor is no longer sufficient to meet the needs of intelligent lighting for urban roads, and as such, there is a growing demand for cutting-edge control systems that can adapt to the dynamic lighting needs in urban environments. This paper's goal is to create an intelligent urban lighting control system by integrating optical multisensor technology and the gray model (GM model). Programmable logic controller (PLC) serves as the system's central processing unit, with light intensity sensors and color sensor-detecting devices placed strategically throughout each city and linked directly to the controller. Each road streetlight is equipped with a motion sensor detection device that is tasked with identifying the presence of vehicles and pedestrians within its field of view. Data fusion technology is utilized to process the environmental data gathered by optical multisensors, the collected data are then used to control and predict outcomes using the robust prediction capability of the GM model, and the result is a lighting control strategy that is both efficient and intelligent. In the end, the strategy presented in this paper is applied to improving the management of an industrial park lighting system's energy consumption. The results of the evaluations show that the fresh method is successful in dimming, prediction, and control. This conclusively demonstrates the efficacy of the paper's proposed design solution, which integrates optical multisensor technology with sophisticated control algorithms and data analysis to improve the quality of life in urban areas by boosting the efficiency and sustainability of the urban lighting system. The RFID is a useful tool for effective management of organisations’ supply chain activities and competitive competencies. So, as the efficient functioning of the supply chain in any company contributes to the growth of its competitiveness and profitability, the meaning of supply chains takes on a new connotation in the changed conditions for managing business processes. The RFID system, as a technology that is implemented by more and more companies, today occupies a significant place in the agenda of every competitive company. Although this means that companies follow technological innovations, one of the reasons why this technology penetrates increasingly, mainly, is that these labels are becoming cheaper and cheaper, but the implementation of this type of technology is simpler, faster and easier to use, which, of course, is an advantage compared to other technological inventions. The purpose of this paper is to emphasize how the RFID (Radio Frequency Identification Device) technology can improve business processes in the Supply Chain Management (SCM). Business processes, through digitalization, acquire a completely different dimension in the new virtual world, following the new conditions from a completely different perspective. This paper presents a brief explanation of Radio Frequency Identification Device (RFID) integration in Supply Chain Management using literature review and analytical research approach. The objective of this paper goes beyond the boundaries of an exploratory analysis to operationalize the association between corporate working capital and return on assets. This paper optimizes the impact of the Cash Conversion Cycle (CCC) on Return on Assets (ROA). The paper develops a mathematical formulation that connects the components of CCC to ROA. The sample includes the non-financial firms listed in DJIA30 and NASDAQ100. The data covers the quarterly periods from June 1992 to March 2018. The paper uses standard statistical tests including linearity (RESET), the Hausman test for fixed and random effects, and the Breusch–Pagan/Cook–Weisberg test for heteroskedasticity. The estimation is carried out using the GLS estimator. This study finds: (a) the optimal, rather than observed, components of CCC are robust and coherent, (b) if firms were to optimize the components of CCC, the ROA improves significantly, (c) the positive estimates of size show that the components of CCC help firms grow, (d) the effects of either observed or optimal CCC on ROA are reached in the short term (four quarters), (e) the results show that observed as well as optimal CCC are able to detect the structural break in the 2008 financial crisis, and (f) the results of a logit analysis show that the optimization algorithm results in significant increases in ROA that are associated with increases in degree of financial leverage and decreases in short-term debt ratio. This paper contributes to the related literature in two ways. First, the paper develops a mathematical structure that associates corporate CCC and ROA in a way that offers a guide to corporate financial managers regarding structural management of corporate CCC. Family businesses are the most widespread type of business in the world. On the other hand, family businesses are estimated to contribute the most to the economic development of a country. Due to the importance of these businesses, numerous studies have been conducted to identify the problems faced by these businesses. One of the main problems of these businesses is the lack of professional management that is a result of the conventional approach of the owners of these businesses. This study was conducted in order to identify the problems faced by family businesses, and to also understand the negative reflections in the internal business environment that arise as a result of not shifting to a professional management of local family businesses operating in Kosovo. In order to provide information on managerial problems, direct meetings were held with 8 managers of these family businesses. In this paper, a qualitative research method is used, using the "case study" model. For data analysis, the program "MAXQDA 2020" was used, with which codes and categories were created, while the frequencies of these codes were provided from these results. In addition to the code frequencies, the answers of the managers regarding the management problems in these businesses are also presented. The findings of this study have presented important data on the managerial problems of these family businesses. These problems presented in this paper are a a result of the attitudes of the owners of these businesses and a result of the lack of a professional management. From the results of this paper, it is also made clear that the various negative reflections are the result of mismanagement of these family businesses. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The article discusses emerging market theory development and identifies and describes a couple of approaches to theory development. The results of a survey in which 25 scholars working in emerging markets responded to several questions, including some the main challenges they face when trying to publish conceptual research, are also presented.

But replacing market processes (supported by relevant and reliable accounting information) with government allocation processes risks resource misallocation and dampens innovation and ultimately economic growth. The COVID-19 pandemic wrought profound changes in product and service markets which require a process of "creative destruction" that might be hindered by lack of a proper exit strategy from government interventions. Purpose: The aim of the paper is to analyze the individual innovation processes in industrial enterprise. Design/methodology/approach: Critical literature analysis. Analysis of international literature from main databases and polish literature and legal acts connecting with researched topic. Findings: The publication concentrate on problems connected with various aspects of individual innovations. In the paper we presented the analysis of differences between terms – innovation, reform and change and its impact on industrial management. Also we analyzed in detailed way the main trends in management in the context on their impact on individual innovations. We analyzed the activities organization should use to boast the innovativeness level in the enterprise. The innovativeness can be done in centralized or decentralized way. This is an important factor influencing the results of innovations activity. We try to analyze the situation of strong centralization of R&D activities in a company with an analysis of its advantages and disadvantages. We think that the decentralization of R&D give the company possibility to easy identify market opportunities and treats and because of that it can easy adapt new product and processes to the customer requirements. The present-day financial system is being influenced by the rapid development of Fintech (financial technology), which comprises technologies created to improve and automate traditional forms of finance for businesses and consumers. The topic of Fintech as a financial disruptor is gaining popularity in line with the swift spread of digitalization across the banking industry, whereby this paper contributes to the field by presenting a novel bibliometric analysis of the academic literature related to Fintech as a financial disruptor. The analysis is based on metadata extracted from the Scopus database through the VOSviewer and Biblioshiny software. The bibliometric analysis of 363 documents identifies the most impactful sources of publication, keywords, authors, and most cited documents on the topic of Fintech as a financial disruptor. Green competencies (GCs) are recognised in the business management literature as those related to all the dimensions of the concept of sustainable development (SD). However, the relationship between GCs and sustainable business practices (SBPs) is not well defined; GCs are often presented in the context of selected organisational activities or the sector of the economy. This paper aims to present the influence of SBPs on employees' GCs in the transport and logistics sector. To achieve this goal, the combination of the methods was employed. First, a classical and semi-bibliometric literature review was undertaken to explore the connection between GCs and SBPs in the literature. Subsequently, the collection of good sustainable practices gathered by the Polish business ethics organisation Forum Odpowiedzialnego Biznesu [Responsible Business Forum] (FOB) was re-analysed qualitatively and quantitatively as a source of SBPs in subjective and objective focus. The analysis of the secondary data collected in FOB indicated those SBPs which influence employees' GCs in the transport and logistics sector. As a result of this study, the combined orientation of the SBPs and their influence on GCs is conditional for the creation of green jobs (GJs). In this paper, future research avenues are also proposed for studying employees' competencies in the narrow context of both subjective and objective perspectives and for research into "golden" GJs, the conditions of the sustainable green labour market and green self-employment development. Real-time monitoring systems are important for industry since they allow for avoiding unplanned system stops and keeping system availability high. The technical requirements for such systems include being both scalable and online, as the amount of generated data is increasing with time. Therefore, monitoring systems must integrate tools that can manage and analyze the data streams. The data stream management system is a stream processing tool that has the ability to manage and support operations on data streams in real-time. Several researchers have proposed and tested real-time monitoring systems which have the ability to search big data streams. In this paper, the research works that discuss the analysis of online data streams for fault detection in industry are reviewed. Based on the literature analysis, the industrial needs and challenges of monitoring big data streams are presented.
