The physical model test is an effective method to study the bearing behavior of digging hold foundations due to its low cost and clear boundary conditions. Here, similar materials of rocks were configured and employed to study the bearing capacity and failure model of digging hold foundations in rock ground. Firstly, sixteen groups of material proportion schemes were employed to make similar materials of rocks, and the effects of four mix parameters were analyzed. Then, similar materials of rocks were employed to perform the uplift tests of digging hold foundations. The results show that the mass ratio of fine particles and aggregate has the greatest influence on the density and internal friction angle, while the cement moisture content has the greatest influence on the cohesion and compressive strength of similar materials of rocks. During the pull-out process of the digging hold foundation, the radial cracks radiate outward from the circumferential cracks, which is different from those in the field test because the ground is small and uniform without fissures inside. The foundation drives the surrounding similar materials to be pulled up as a whole with a certain failure angle, which increases from 35.7° to 42.5° as the internal friction angle decreases from 56° to 41°. Water security is crucial for the sustainable development of regional water resources. Here, we utilize the Driver-Pressure-State-Impact-Response (DPSIR) framework to construct an indicator system for assessing water security in the Lancang–Mekong River Basin (LMRB). This study also delves into the level of development in the coupling coordination between the economic and social systems and the water resources systems in the basin. The findings reveal that the overall water security situation in the LMRB is satisfactory, with three countries (China, Laos, and Vietnam) surpassing the "safe" threshold and three countries (Thailand, Cambodia, and Myanmar) "Basically safe". However, water security issues persist, particularly in relation to water pollution and scarcity. Seasonal water shortages and water-related disasters arise due to uneven rainfall distribution throughout the year and inadequate regulating facilities such as wetlands and reservoirs. In addition, the overall coupling coordination level in the LMRB is low, ranging between 0.3 and 0.4, corresponding to a moderate imbalance level in the assessment criteria system. Specifically, Laos and China exhibit the highest coupling coordination level, with a degree of 0.36, whereas Thailand and Myanmar demonstrate the lowest level, with degrees of 0.33 and 0.31, respectively. Hierarchical Beta zeolites with interconnected intracrystalline mesopores and high structural stability are highly attractive for catalytic applications involving bulky reactants. Here, by introducing a suitable amount of polydiallyldimethylammonium chloride into the initial synthesis system, micron-sized Beta zeolite crystals with abundant hierarchical porosity (Beta-H) were hydrothermally synthesized. The sample named Beta-H_1 exhibited very high catalytic activity and durability for the Friedel–Crafts acylation of anisole with acetic anhydride. A 92% conversion rate of acetic anhydride could be achieved after 1 h of reaction in a fixed bed reactor, and 71% conversion still remained after 10 h, much better than the rate for conventional Beta zeolite (which decreased rapidly from 85% to 37% within 10 h). The enhanced catalytic performance of Beta-H zeolites could be mainly attributed to the relatively lower strong acid density and the faster transport rate of the hierarchical zeolites. In addition, Beta-H showed high structural stability and could be easily regenerated via high-temperature calcination without obvious loss in catalytic activity, demonstrating its great potential for catalytic applications in the industrially important Friedel–Crafts acylation process. Root-zone soil moisture (RZSM) plays a key role in the hydrologic cycle and regulates water–heat exchange. Although site observations can provide soil profile moisture measurements, they have a restricted representation. Satellites can determine soil moisture on a large scale, yet the depth of detection is limited. RZSM can be estimated on a large scale using the soil moisture analytical relationship (SMAR) and surface soil moisture (SSM). However, the applicability of the SMAR to different deep-root zones and covariate sources is unclear. This paper investigates the applicability of the SMAR in the Shandian River Basin, upstream of the Luan River in China, by combining site and regional soil moisture, soil properties, and meteorological data. In particular, we first compared the estimation results of the SMAR at different depths (10–20 cm; 10–50 cm) and using covariates from different sources (dataset, SMAR-P1; literature, SMAR-P2) at the site in order to generate SMAR calibration parameters. The parameters were then regionalized based on multiple linear regression by combining the SMAR-P1, SMAR-P2, and SMAR calibration parameters in the 10–50 cm root zone. Finally, the Shandian River RZSM was estimated using regional surface soil moisture and the aforementioned regionalized parameters. At the site scale, diffusion coefficient b obtained in the 10–20 cm root zone at the same depth as the surface layer exceeded the upper limit of the SMAR by one. This is not fit an environment within the site context, and thus the SMAR is not applicable at this particular depth. The opposite is observed for the 10–50 cm root zone. In addition, SMAR-P1 (RMSE = 0.02) outperformed SMAR-P2 (RMSE = 0.04) in the estimation of the RZSM at 10–50 cm. Parameter regionalization analysis revealed the failure of SMAR-P2 to pass the significance test (p > 0.05) for building a multivariate linear model, while SMAR-P1 successfully passed the significance test (p < 0.05) and finished the parameter regionalization process. The median RMSE and median R2adj of the regional RZSM results were determined as 0.12 and 0.3, respectively. The regional RZSM agrees with the spatial trend of the Shandian River. This study examines the suitability of the SMAR model in varying deep-root zones and with diverse covariate sources. The results provide a crucial basis for future utilization of the SMAR. As the mine enters the deep mining stage, there is a need to enhance the compressive strength and toughness of the backfill. The objective of this study is to examine the mechanical properties of cemented tailings backfill after the incorporation of multi-size fibers and to validate the toughening mechanism of basalt fibers (BFs). To achieve this, a series of basic mechanical property tests for multi-size BFs mixing were devised, accompanied by industrial computerized tomography (CT) scanning and discrete element simulation. This study shows that the compressive strength increases and then decreases with the increase of BF dosage at a certain percentage of each size, and the splitting tensile strength gradually increases with the increase of BF dosage. The compressive strength tends to decrease and then increase, and the splitting tensile strength increases and then decreases as the fiber size ratio changes. The distribution of cemented tailings backfill and BF within the discrete element model is random. A few BF cannot play a bridging role; however, a moderate amount of BF is relatively uniformly distributed in the model to form a network structure, which generates a bond between the particles and the matrix and can effectively limit the expansion path of cracks and enhance the toughness. Based on the analysis of air quality data in Yunnan Province from 2015 to 2020, combined with spatial interpolation analysis and geographic detector factor analysis, the spatial–temporal evolution characteristics of air quality in Yunnan Province have been studied, and the main driving factors, the mechanisms, and the impact of regional COVID-19 control measures affecting air quality have been discussed. The results show that the air quality in Yunnan Province was generally good (superior rate > 98%) from 2015 to 2020, that the Air Quality Index (AQI) value is better in the wet season than in the dry season, and that the concentration of major pollutants shows a decreasing trend. AQI values are spatially high in the east and low in the west. The relative humidity, precipitation, population density, building construction area, and civil vehicles have a greater degree of explanation for the spatial differentiation of AQI, whereas the synergistic influence (maximum value 0.92) of socio-economic factors and meteorological factors is significantly greater than that of a single factor (maximum value 0.80) by the geographic detector model. The control measures for COVID-19 in 2020 reduced the concentration of major pollutants in the atmosphere to a certain extent. Controlling regional air pollution in urban agglomerations in low-latitude plateau areas can improve their air quality by reducing human activities. However, the control of O3 concentration is more complex, and more restrictive factors need to be considered. The Tarim Basin is a large inland arid basin in the arid region of northwest China and has been experiencing significant "warming and wetting" since 1987. As a result, the purpose of this paper is to determine whether the climate transition phenomenon occurred in the Tarim Basin as well as the role of atmospheric circulation in this process. We use meteorological data and atmospheric circulation indexes to study the seasonal trends of climate change in this region from 1987 to 2020 to understand how they are affected by atmospheric circulation. The findings show that, from 1987 to 2020, the Tarim Basin experienced significant warming and wetting; with the exception of the winter scale, all other seasonal scales exhibited a clear warming and wetting trend. From the perspective of spatial distribution, most of the areas showed a significant warming trend, and the warming amplitude around the basin is greater than that in the central area of the basin. However, there are significant regional differences in precipitation change rates. Meanwhile, wavelet analysis shows that there is a significant oscillation period of 17–20 years between climate change and the atmospheric circulation index during 1987–2020. The correlation analysis shows that the Pacific decadal oscillation (PDO) and El Niño-Southern Oscillation (ENSO) are the main influencing factors of climate change in the Tarim Basin at different seasonal scales, while the teleconnection of the Arctic Oscillation (AO) and North Atlantic Oscillation (NAO) is low and the PDO dominates the summer and autumn temperature changes in the Tarim Basin. The research results of this paper show that, despite the warming and wetting trends since 1987 in the Tarim Basin, the climate type did not change. The high-hardness and transparent PMMA-based composites play a significant role in modern optical devices. However, a well-known paradox is that conventional PMMA-based composites with high loadings of nanoparticles usually possess high surface hardness at the cost of poor transparency and toughness due to the aggregation of nanoparticles. In this work, ideal optical materials (SiO2/PMMA composites) with high transparency and high surface hardness are successfully fabricated through the introduction of the flow modifier Si-DPF by conventional melt blending. Si-DPF with low surface energy and high transparency, which is located at the SiO2/PMMA interface, and nano-SiO2 particles are homogeneously dispersed in the PMMA matrix. As an example, the sample SiO2/PMMA/Si-DPF (30/65/5) shows outstanding transparency (>87.2% transmittance), high surface hardness (462.2 MPa), and notched impact strength (1.18 kJ/m2). Moreover, SiO2/PMMA/Si-DPF (30/65/5) also presents a low torque value of composite melt (21.7 N⋅m). In this study, a fluorine-containing flow modifier (Si-DF) with low surface energy is successfully synthesized, which is applied to fabricate ideal electronic packaging materials (BN/PPS composites) with high thermal conductivity, excellent dielectric properties, processability, and toughness by conventional melt blending. Si-DPF is located at the interface between the BN fillers and the PPS matrix, which not only improves the dispersion of BN fillers but also strengthens the interaction. With the help of 5 wt% Si-DF, BN/PPS/Si-DF (70/25/5) still exhibits the high thermally conductive coefficient (3.985 W/m·K) and low dielectric constant (3.76 at 100 MHz) although BN fillers are loaded as high as 70 wt%. Moreover, the sample processes a lower stable torque value (2.5 N·m), and the area under the stress–strain curves is also increased. This work provides an efficient way to develop high-performance polymer-based composites with high thermally conductive coefficients and low dielectric constants for electronic packaging applications. Tidal marshes are among the world's most valuable ecosystems; however, they are increasingly threatened by rising sea levels and a decline in fluvial sediment supply. The survival of a tidal marsh under these twin threats depends upon the net input of tidal sediments, because this will determine the deposition rate. The rate of relative sea level rise currently affecting the Yangtze Delta is rapid (~4 mm/a), and the sediment discharge from the Yangtze River has decreased by >70% over recent decades. In order to improve our understanding of the response of the marshes in the turbid zone of the Yangtze Estuary to these changing environmental conditions, we measured sediment transport in and out of a tidal basin and calculated the deposition rate over eight tidal cycles covering different tidal ranges during the summer and winter seasons. The suspended sediment concentration (SSC) during the flood phase of the tidal cycle (average = 0.395 kg/m3) was markedly higher than that during the ebb (average = 0.164 kg/m3), although water transport during the flood tide was almost equivalent to that during the ebb. As a result, ~40% of the sediment inflow during the flood phase was retained within the marsh. This reason is mainly attributable to the dense marsh vegetation, which attenuates waves and currents and to which the sediments adhere. The annual deposition rate in the marsh was approximately 6.7 mm/a. These findings indicate that under the combined influence of sea level rise and river sediment supply reduction, the sediment transport through the turbidity maximum zone of the Yangtze River estuary could maintain the relative stability of the marsh area to a certain extent. The El Niño Southe58rn Oscillation (ENSO) is a typical oscillation affecting climate change, and its stable periodicity, long-lasting effect, and predictable characteristics have become important indicators for regional climate prediction. In this study, we analyze the Standardized Precipitation Evapotranspiration Index (SPEI), the Niño3.4 index, the Southern Oscillation Index (SOI), and the Multivariate ENSO Index (MEI). Additionally, we explore the spatial and temporal distribution of the correlation coefficients between ENSO and SPEI and the time lag between ENSO events of varying intensities and droughts. The results reveal that the use of Nino3.4, MEI, and SOI produces differences in the occurrence time, end time, and intensity of ENSO events. Nino3.4 and MEI produce similar results for identifying ENSO events, and the Nino3.4 index accurately identifies and describes ENSO events with higher reliability. In China, the drought-sensitive areas vulnerable to ENSO events include southern China, the Jiangnan region, the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River, and the arid and semi-arid areas of northwestern China. Droughts in these areas correlate significantly with meteorological drought, and time-series correlations between ENSO events and droughts are significantly stronger in regions close to the ocean. Drought occurrence lags ENSO events: when using the Niño3.4 index to identify ENSO, droughts lag the strongest and weakest El Niño events by 0–12 months. However, when using the MEI as a criterion for ENSO, droughts lag the strongest and weakest El Niño events by 0–7 months. The time lag between the strongest ENSO event and drought is shorter than that for the weakest ENSO event, and droughts have a wider impact. Turbidity is an important parameter in monitoring water quality, and thus attracts significant attention. Changes in the various components and constituent elements of water directly affect turbidity measurements. The turbidity of water is generally quantified by measuring the absorbance or scattering characteristics of substances suspended in it. The complex composition of environmental water bodies complicates the determination of factors influencing their turbidity. Controlled experiments that quantitatively analyze the effect of a single factor on the measurement of turbidity in the laboratory are an important means to improve the accuracy of turbidity assessment. Properties of suspended materials in a water column that may affect its measured turbidity include the concentration of algae, particle size, and the color of soluble substances, etc. The laboratory experiments reported here used Chlorella as an example to investigate the effect of algal concentration on turbidity measurement. The results are as follows. When the turbidity is low (100 NTU), the average relative error between the theoretical and practical absorbance is about 37.52%, which decreases to 19.20% at 100–200 NTU and 5.16% at 200–400 NTU. The characteristic spectral bands sensitive to turbidity (680 nm) and Chlorella (240 nm) were selected, and the theoretical and practical turbidity results were analyzed. The average relative errors of mixed liquids of less than 100, 100–200, and 200–400 NTU are 65.07%, 34.18%, and 3.95%, respectively. Therefore, the concentration of Chlorella significantly affects the measured turbidity, and results in a more complex effect at low turbidity (<100 NTU). Combining the analysis of absorbance peak values and characteristic spectral bands, we can assess the turbidity changes in different components, and through calibration, information regarding the concentration and variation of different components in water bodies can be obtained. The results of this research could improve the accuracy of on-site measurement of the concentrations of different components suspended in water, and also facilitate the development of new turbidity sensors. China is rich in wind- and solar-energy resources. In recent years, under the auspices of the "double carbon target," the government has significantly increased funding for the development of wind and solar resources. However, because wind and solar energy are intermittent and their spatial distribution is uneven, the profits obtained by the developers of wind- and solar-energy resources are unstable and relatively low. For this reason, we analyze in this article the spatiotemporal variations in wind and solar energy resources in China and the temporal complementarity of wind and solar energy by applying a Spearman correlation coefficient based on the Daily Value Dataset of China Surface Climate Data V3.0. Finally, we also strive to harmonize regions where wind and solar resources are less complementary by introducing hydro-energy resources. The results reveal that wind energy and solar energy resources in China undergo large interannual fluctuations and show significant spatial heterogeneity. At the same time, according to the complementarity of wind and solar resources, over half of China's regions are suitable for the complementary development of resources. Further research shows that the introduction of hydro-energy resources makes it feasible to coordinate and complement the development of wind- and solar-energy resources in areas where the complementarity advantage is not significant. Lipophilization is a promising way to improve the bioavailability of flavonoids. However, the traditional enzymatic esterification methods are time-consuming, and present low yields and purity. Herein, a novel membrane-based lipophilization technology—bioinspired lipase immobilized membranes (BLIMs), including CAL-B@PES, CAL-B@PDA/PES and GA/CAL-B@PDA/PES— were fabricated to improve the antioxidant flavanone glycoside hesperidin lipophilization. Via reverse filtration, PDA coating and GA crosslinking, Candida antarctica lipase B (CAL-B) was stably immobilized on membrane to fabricate BLIMs. Among the three BLIMs, GA/CAL-B@PDA/PES had the greatest enzyme activity and enzyme loading, the strongest tolerance of changes in external environmental conditions (temperatures, pH, heating time, storage time and numbers of cycles) and the highest hesperidin esterification efficiency. Moreover, the optimal operating condition for GA/CAL-B@PDA/PES fabrication was the CAL-B concentration of 0.36 mg/mL, operation pressure of 2 bar, GA concentration of 5% and crosslinking time of 1 h. Afterwards, the hesperidin esterification process did not affect the micromorphology of BLIM, but clearly improved the BLIM permeability and esterified product efficiency. The present study reveals the fabrication mechanism of BLIMs and offers insights into the optimizing strategy that governs the membrane-based lipophilization technology process. The grouting method is often used to strengthen the bearing capacity of building foundations. In the process of grouting, the stress structure of slurry and rock and the soil mass under the condition of high permeability and high stress ("double height") is complex, and the strength mechanism of slurry stone under different double-height conditions is not clear. Therefore, stone samples of grout under the curing pressures of 2 MPa, 4 MPa, 6 MPa, 8 MPa and 10 MPa were prepared for the uniaxial compression test to analyze the influence of curing pressure on compressive strength. The microstructure of the slurry stone was observed by scanning electron microscope, and the development law of microcracks was further studied using the particle flow program. The research shows that the strength of the slurry stone body increases with the increase of curing pressure. When the curing pressure increases from 2 MPa to 10 MPa, the compressive strength of the stone powder-cement slurry stone body increases from 8.3 MPa to 22.7 MPa, an increase of nearly 2.7 times, and the compressive strength of the clay-cement slurry stone body increases from 5.7 MPa to 16.8 MPa, an increase of 2.9 times. According to the axial compressive stress-strain curve of the specimen, the failure process goes through three continuous stages: continuous elasticity, crack propagation, and strength failure. When the stress peak is reached, the number of cracks increases slowly; when the stress peak is reached, the cracks expand rapidly, the number increases exponentially, and a penetrating main crack is finally formed, which destroys the specimen. Layering of filling body is common in large-scale filling areas. In this paper, the cement–sand ratio of 1:8 is based on the configuration of 68%, 70%, 72% and 74%; four concentrations; and filling layers of one-, two-, three- and four-layered cemented filling samples. Combined with a uniaxial compression test and two-dimensional particle flow software (PFC2D), the mechanical properties and failure modes were explored. The results show that the concentration can strengthen the uniaxial compressive strength of the filling body while increasing the filling times weakens its power; therefore, the constitutive damage model was constructed. It was found that the initial layered damage existed in the layered filling, and the total damage showed an upward trend of first fast and then slow; the main failure modes of one-layer and two-layer backfills showed prominent shear failure characteristics, and the three-layer and four-layer fillings were closer to tensile failure. The tailing paste thickening technology was investigated to achieve goaf reduction treatment and tailing resource utilization of metal mines and reach the effect of controlling two hazards with one waste. However, superfine tailing particles could easily form suspended water-locking flocs in the thickening process, which seriously affected the increase in the underflow concentration in the thickener. Undisturbed compression-stage bed samples were extracted using an in situ sampling method through a continuous dynamic thickening experiment. Then, the morphologies and geometrical structures of micropores were analyzed through high-precision computed tomography scanning. Subsequently, the influences of the shear evolution of pore structure and seepage channel on the dewaterability of underflow slurry were explored by combining Avizo software and 3D reconstruction technology. The thickening and dewatering mechanism of underflow slurry was also revealed. Results showed that under the shear action, the flocs were deformed and compacted, forming a high-concentration underflow. On this basis, the original micropores were extruded, deformed and segmented. Moreover, many loose micropores were formed, the connectivity became poor and the total porosity declined. The diameter of the water-conducting channel in the sample was enlarged because of the shear force and the seepage effect improved. Cancer is one of the primary causes of worldwide human deaths. Most cancer patients receive chemotherapy and radiotherapy, but these treatments are usually only partially efficacious and lead to a variety of serious side effects. Therefore, it is necessary to develop new therapeutic strategies. The emergence of nanotechnology has had a profound impact on general clinical treatment. The application of nanotechnology has facilitated the development of nano-drug delivery systems (NDDSs) that are highly tumor selective and allow for the slow release of active anticancer drugs. In recent years, vehicles such as liposomes, dendrimers and polymer nanomaterials have been considered promising carriers for tumor-specific drug delivery, reducing toxicity and improving biocompatibility. Among them, polymer nanoparticles (NPs) are one of the most innovative methods of non-invasive drug delivery. It has been more than three decades since peroxisome proliferator-activated receptors (PPARs) were first discovered. Many investigations have revealed the central regulators of PPARs in lipid and glucose homeostasis in response to different nutrient conditions. PPARs have attracted much attention due to their ability to improve metabolic syndromes, and they have also been proposed as classical drug targets for the treatment of hyperlipidemia and type 2 diabetes (T2D) mellitus. In parallel, adipose tissue is known to play a unique role in the pathogenesis of insulin resistance and metabolic syndromes due to its ability to "safely" store lipids and secrete cytokines that regulate whole-body metabolism. Adipose tissue relies on a complex and subtle network of transcription factors to maintain its normal physiological function, by coordinating various molecular events, among which PPARs play distinctive and indispensable roles in adipocyte differentiation, lipid metabolism, adipokine secretion, and insulin sensitivity. The ultimate analysis results for pine were 45.76% carbon (C), 5.54% hydrogen (H), 0.039% nitrogen (N), 0% sulphur (S) and 48.66% oxygen (O) and, for acacia, were 41.47% C, 5.15% H, 1.23% N, 0% S and 52.15% O. Due to the low N and S in the biomasses, they promise to provide cleaner energy than fossil-based sources. After the optimisation of the ratio between the waste slag (Fe source) and the waste polymer (the carbon source), the microstructure of the recycled alloy showed no Br, Cl, S, or other contamination. The adsorption of phosphate on ZnO nanomaterials follows the isothermal adsorption model of Langmuir, Tempkin and Freundlich with single-layer adsorption. In this work, ideal optical materials (SiO2/PMMA composites) with high transparency and high surface hardness are successfully fabricated through the introduction of the flow modifier Si-DPF by conventional melt blending. Si-DPF with low surface energy and high transparency, which is located at the SiO2/PMMA interface, and nano-SiO2 particles are homogeneously dispersed in the PMMA matrix. As an example, the sample SiO2/PMMA/Si-DPF (30/65/5) shows outstanding transparency (>87.2% transmittance), high surface hardness (462.2 MPa), and notched impact strength (1.18 kJ/m2). Moreover, SiO2/PMMA/Si-DPF (30/65/5) also presents a low torque value of composite melt (21.7 N⋅m). This work paves a new possibility for the industrial preparation of polymer-based composites with excellent transparency, surface hardness, processability, and toughness.
