The dynamics of residual stress (RS) within glass-to-metal (GTM) seals play a crucial role in their operational efficacy, with the progression of RS in response to temperature variations being a critical aspect in engineering applications. This research utilizes fiber Bragg grating sensors and temperature-calibrated photoluminescence spectroscopy techniques for the in situ monitoring of RS changes within GTM seals during heating. Initially, the glass body exhibited a compressive stress of −203 MPa, while the stress in the glass close to the interface was −367 MPa at room temperature. With increasing temperature, RS within both the glass body and in the glass close to the interface transitions through three distinct phases: a near-linear decrease, a rapid decrease, and a shift from compressive to tensile stress. By 540 °C, tensile stresses of approximately 11 MPa within the glass body and 36 MPa in the glass close to the interface were observed. The study elucidates that RS evolution is intricately linked not only to the thermal expansion properties of the constituent materials but also to the β-relaxation phenomenon within the glass structure and the presence of an oxide layer at the interface. Finite-element analysis simulations were conducted to corroborate the experimental findings, illustrating a congruent RS evolution pattern and delineating the transition from a compressive to a tensile state. Flexible electronic devices with skin-like properties are hailed as revolutionary for the development of next-generation electronic devices, such as electric-skin and humanoid robotics. Graphene is intrinsically flexible due to its structural thinness in nature and are considered next-generation materials for wearable electronics. These devices usually experience a large mechanical deformation in use so as to achieve intimate conformal contact with human skin and to coordinate complex human motions, while heat dissipation has been a major limitation when the device is under a large mechanical strain. Unlike the small deformation (<1%) induced by intrinsic material factors such as lattice mismatch between material components in devices, a large mechanical deformation (>1%) by an external loading condition could lead to apparent changes to global geometric shapes and significantly impact thermal transport. In this study, we investigated the thermal conductivities of graphene under several large mechanical strains: 2.9%, 4.3%, and 6.1%. We used a refined opto-thermal Raman technique to characterize the thermal transport properties and discovered the thermal conductivities to be 2092 ± 502, 972 ± 87, 348 ± 52, and 97 ± 13 W/(m K) for the relaxed state, 2.9%, 4.3%, and 6.1% tensile strain, respectively. Our results showed a significant decreasing trend in thermal conductivities with an increasing mechanical strain. The findings in this study reveal new thermal transport mechanisms in 2D materials and shed light on building novel flexible nanoelectronic devices with enhanced thermal management. An accurate and efficient heat bath method plays a key role in atomic simulations of the thermal and mechanical properties of single-crystal silicon. Here, focusing on the single-crystal silicon (111) layer, which is a crucial lattice structure commonly employed as a substrate for chips, we propose a heat jet approach for finite temperature atomic simulations of silicon layers. First, we formulate the linearized dynamic equations for the silicon atoms and calculate the dispersion relation and lattice wave solutions. Then, an appropriate matching boundary condition is chosen for designing the two-way boundary condition, which allows incoming waves to inject into the lattice system while eliminating boundary reflections. Combining the two-way boundary condition and phonon heat source, the heat jet approach for the silicon (111) layer is proposed. Numerical tests illustrate the accuracy and effectiveness of the heat jet approach in simultaneously resolving thermal fluctuations and controlling temperature. Furthermore, we simulate the propagation of a Gaussian hump at a given temperature with the heat jet approach compared to the Nosé–Hoover heat bath. Numerical results demonstrate that the heat jet approach can well describe the movement of large structural deformations among thermal fluctuations without boundary reflections. Bond line thickness (BLT) is an essential parameter of thermal conductive composite gels as the thermal interface material (TIM). Extensive research has been performed on designing next-generation TIMs with high thermal conductivity; however, it remains elusive how to link laboratory measurements and the theoretically predicted BLT. Here, we propose a new model to estimate BLT based on a rheological property, in which the TIM is assumed to be a simple power law fluid. To avoid the unrealistic situation of the BLT tending to zero, we introduce a decaying exponential function to describe the influence from fillers during the lid attach process and rebuild the force balance equation. Compared with previously reported models, the theoretical prediction BLT based on the proposed model is in good agreement with the experimental data. The two-dimensional laser-based Ångstrom method measures the in-plane thermal properties for anisotropic film-like materials. It involves periodic laser heating at the center of a suspended film sample and records its transient thermal response by infrared imaging. These spatiotemporal temperature data must be analyzed to extract the unknown thermal conductivity values in the orthotropic directions, an inverse parameter fitting problem. Previous demonstration of the metrology technique used a least-squares fitting method that relies on numerical differentiation to evaluate the second-order partial derivatives in the differential equation describing transient conduction in the physical system. This fitting approach is susceptible to measurement noise, introducing high uncertainty in the extracted properties when working with noisy data. For example, when noise of a signal-to-noise ratio of 10 is added to simulated amplitude and phase data, the error in the extracted thermal conductivity can exceed 80%. In this work, we introduce a new alternative inverse parameter fitting approach using physics-informed neural networks (PINNs) to increase the robustness of the measurement technique for noisy temperature data. We demonstrate the effectiveness of this approach even for scenarios with extreme levels of noise in the data. Specifically, the PINN-approach accurately extracts the properties to within 5% of the true values even for high noise levels (a signal-to-noise ratio of 1). This offers a promising avenue for improving the robustness and accuracy of advanced thermal metrology tools that rely on inverse parameter fitting of temperature data to extract thermal properties. Cobalt oxides are known for their excellent heat transfer properties. The main component of cobalt oxides is the CoO2 monolayer, which exhibits high-temperature superconductivity caused by strong electron–phonon coupling (EPC). We here systematically investigate the structural stability, electronic structure, and magnetism of the CoO2 monolayer using first-principles and Monte Carlo simulations. On this basis, we further study the changes in the spin energy gap, magnetic axis direction, and other properties of the CoO2 monolayer with the changes in carrier concentration. By appropriately doping the CoO2 monolayer with holes, the magnetic axis direction of the CoO2 monolayer can be reversed, thereby enhancing its potential application in the field of spin electronic devices. Monte Carlo simulation is used to study the regulation of different factors on the magnetothermal properties of the CoO2 monolayer. Through the analysis of physical parameters such as Curie temperature (TC) and bandgap, we find that the appropriate carrier concentration and magnetic field can not only regulate the magnetothermal properties of materials but also further improve the efficiency of materials in low-temperature environments. Thermal transport plays a pivotal role across diverse disciplines, yet the intricate relationship between amorphous network structures and thermal conductance properties remains elusive due to the absence of a reliable and comprehensive network's dataset to be investigated. In this study, we have created a dataset comprising multiple amorphous network structures of varying sizes, generated through a combination of the node disturbance method and Delaunay triangulation, to fine-tune an initially random network toward both increased and decreased thermal conductance C. The tuning process is guided by the simulated annealing algorithm. Our findings unveil that C is inversely dependent on the normalized average shortest distance L n o r m connecting heat source nodes and sink nodes, which is determined by the network topological structure. Intuitively, the amorphous network with increased C is associated with an increased number of bonds oriented along the thermal transport direction, which shortens the heat transfer distance from the source to sink node. Conversely, thermal transport encounters impedance with an augmented number of bonds oriented perpendicular to the thermal transport direction, which is demonstrated by the increased L n o r m . We here report the electronic structure calculation of GaInSe3 and GaInTe3 monolayers with the P3m1 (no. 156) space group. The electronic structure and thermoelectric properties of the monolayers are calculated through the Vienna Ab initio Simulation Package and BoltzTraP2 codes. The dynamic and thermodynamic stabilities were verified by calculating their phonon spectra and simulating ab initio molecular dynamics. The monolayers were found to have a direct bandgap, with both PBE + SOC and HSE06 + SOC potentials. The lattice thermal conductivity of GaInTe3 monolayer calculated using Phono3py code shows ultra-low values due to enhanced phonon–phonon scattering. Combining electrical and thermal transport, the values have been evaluated. Importantly, the p-type GaInTe3 has excellent thermoelectric properties at 700 K, with a z T value of 2, indicating that the p-type GaInTe3 has potential application in the field of thermoelectricity. The binary high-pressure phase diagram of the Ta–Sb system was constructed for the first time in this study, utilizing the evolutionary algorithm USPEX and density functional theory (DFT). Ten pressurized dynamically and mechanically stable or metastable novel phases of Ta–Sb were discovered, including I4/mmm-TaSb2, P4/nmm-TaSb, P-3-Ta2Sb7, I4/mmm-Ta2Sb3, P-4m2-Ta7Sb, Pm-3-Ta7Sb, Pmm2-Ta15Sb, P4/nmm-TaSb3, I4/mmm-Ta3Sb4, and I4/mmm-Ta2Sb5. The compounds P-4m2-Ta7Sb and Pmm2-Ta15Sb exhibit promising characteristics as non-centrosymmetric superconductors (NCSs), with their superconducting critical temperature (TC) being 3.831 and 3.221 K, respectively. The application of pressure tuning is predicted to transform the topological characteristics of P4/nmm-TaSb, causing it to transition from a topological insulator state to a Dirac semimetal state and ultimately reverting back to a topological insulator state. Therefore, the P4/nmm-TaSb compound is considered a promising candidate to investigate topological and superconducting excitations. Moreover, the mechanical and thermal properties of Ta–Sb binary phases were also investigated. The thermal conductivity of I4/mmm-TaSb2, P4/nmm-TaSb, and P4/nmm-TaSb3 all surpasses 20 W m−1 K−1 at 1000 K, showcasing their excellent thermal conductivity properties. The present study addresses the research gap concerning high-pressure structures in the Ta–Sb binary system, thereby offering valuable insights for the design and development of intermetallic compounds within this binary system. Owing to the unique asymmetric geometry, Janus monolayer compounds exhibit various exotic thermal properties and have promising applications in thermal management. In this study, we combine machine learning potentials and the phonon Boltzmann transport equation to perform a comparative study of the thermal transport properties in Janus XBAlY (X = Se, S, Te; Y = S, Se, O; X ≠ Y) monolayers. Our findings unveil a thermal conductivity (κ p) ranking as SeBAlS > TeBAlO > SBAlSe, contradicting the conventional expectation that a higher κ p is typically observed when the average atomic mass is smaller. At room temperature, the κ p of SeBAlS is 174 Wm−1 K−1, which is 4.8 times that of SBAlSe when considering three-phonon scattering processes. Moreover, the consideration of four-phonon scatterings does not alter such ranking. The anomalous κ p phenomenon was explained through a detailed analysis of the phonon–phonon scattering mechanism, phonon bandgap, phonon anharmonicity, and chemical bond strength. This study highlights the intricate relationship between atomic mass, bonding characteristics, and thermal properties, offering insights for designing Janus materials with tailored thermal conductivity. Hafnia (HfO2) is a potential candidate for the high-k gate dielectrics in next-generation high-power electronics. Its thermal transport properties, which determine the performance of these related high-power electronics, are critical while rarely investigated. Here, the thermal transport properties of HfO2 in a wide temperature range of 300–2000 K with a phase transition between monoclinic and tetragonal phases at ∼1765 K, are systematically studied based on the temperature-dependent effective potential landscapes with both propagating and coherence thermal transport considered. It is found that the cage-like structure of monoclinic HfO2 results in the avoid crossing in the phonon band structures, which increases the three-phonon scattering largely. Some phonon modes with significant scattering matrix can have relatively larger 3ph and 4ph scattering rates in tetragonal HfO2. Consequently, the thermal conductivity of HfO2 is only 11.95–1.72 W/mK at 300–2000 K. Our results further show that propagating phonon channels dominate the thermal transport in HfO2 and contribute at least 70% to the total thermal conductivity. The rest of the thermal conductivity of HfO2 results from the coherence thermal transport channels, which is caused by the overlap of phonons. Four-phonon scatterings are found to be significant for the thermal transport in tetragonal HfO2, which can result in a thermal conductivity reduction of ∼50%. Thermal transport in wurtzite aluminum nitride (w-AlN) significantly affects the performance and reliability of corresponding electronic devices, particularly when lattice strains inevitably impact the thermal properties of w-AlN in practical applications. To accurately model the thermal properties of w-AlN with high efficiency, we develop a machine learning interatomic potential based on the atomic cluster expansion (ACE) framework. The predictive power of the ACE potential against density functional theory (DFT) is demonstrated across a broad range of properties of w-AlN, including ground-state lattice parameters, specific heat capacity, coefficients of thermal expansion, bulk modulus, and harmonic phonon dispersions. Validation of lattice thermal conductivity is further carried out by comparing the ACE-predicted values to the DFT calculations and experiments, exhibiting the overall capability of our ACE potential in sufficiently describing anharmonic phonon interactions. As a practical application, we perform a lattice dynamics analysis using the potential to unravel the effects of biaxial strains on thermal conductivity and phonon properties of w-AlN, which is identified as a significant tuning factor for near-junction thermal design of w-AlN-based electronics. The lattice thermal conductivity (LTC) of Ga 2 O 3 is an important property due to the challenge in the thermal management of high-power devices. In this work, we develop machine-learned neuroevolution potentials (NEPs) for single-crystalline β - Ga 2 O 3 and κ - Ga 2 O 3 and demonstrate their accuracy in modeling thermal transport properties. Combining NEP-driven homogeneous non-equilibrium molecular dynamics simulations with tensor analysis, we determine the spatial distributions of LTCs for two Ga 2 O 3 crystals, showing dissimilar thermal behaviors. Specifically, β - Ga 2 O 3 shows isotropic thermal transport properties, with the LTCs along [100], [010], and [001] directions being predicted to be 10.3 ± 0.2 , 19.9 ± 0.2 , and 12.6 ± 0.2 W/(m K), respectively, consistent with previous experimental measurements. For κ - Ga 2 O 3 , our predictions suggest nearly isotropic thermal transport properties, with the LTCs along [100], [010], and [001] being estimated to be 4.5 ± 0.1 , 3.9 ± 0.1 , and 4.0 ± 0.1 W/(m K). The reduced LTC of κ -Ga 2 O 3 vs β -Ga 2 O 3 stems from its restricted low-frequency phonons up to 5 THz. Furthermore, we find that the β phase exhibits a typical temperature dependence slightly stronger than ∼ T − 1 , whereas the κ phase shows a weaker temperature dependence, ranging from ∼ T − 0.5 to ∼ T − 0.7 . We present results of resonant ultrasound spectroscopy (RUS) measurements applied to granular high explosive materials at different bulk pressing densities and degree of thermal conditioning. The material chosen in this study is a ubiquitously used explosive material known as pentaerythritol tetranitrate (PETN), which is used commercially in civil and defense applications both as a binderized plastic bonded explosive material and an unbinderized neat material. However, changes in granular PETN bulk elastic properties due to thermal conditioning, which could have implications for better understanding environmental aging-related effects, have not been well studied even though it is believed that elasticity may play an important role in explosive material initiation mechanisms. Furthermore, monitoring elastic property changes in granular explosive pressings has not yet been demonstrated using RUS, which is an appealing non-destructive characterization tool that requires only dry point contact with the explosive material. To this end, we report the first study using RUS to quantify the elastic properties of binderized and neat PETN pressings as well as to quantify changes in elastic properties as a function of both thermal conditioning and bulk pressing density. Elastic stiffness coefficients, sometimes more commonly referred to as elastic constants, calculated from the RUS measurements on the different PETN-based materials show a significant increase for the post-conditioned samples compared to the pre-conditioned samples. This trend of increasing elastic properties with thermal conditioning was consistent for different density pressings, different thermal exposure conditions, and even different neat PETN pressings of differing average crystal sizes and/or specific surface areas. Little research has been conducted to determine the thermal properties and phenomena of graphane and fluorographene. A clear understanding of the thermal problems involved is needed, which may provide a basis for further research on other material properties. In the present study, molecular dynamics simulations were performed to investigate the thermal properties of graphane and fluorographene and especially the phenomena involved, including thermal fluctuations and bending rigidities. Furthermore, comparisons of thermal properties and the phenomena involved were made computationally between pristine and functionalised graphene. The thermal fluctuations and bending rigidities were determined at different temperatures. The present study aims to provide a clear understanding of the thermal problems involved in hydrogenated and fluorinated graphene. The results indicated that while thermally excited ripples spontaneously appear in graphene, fully hydrogenated or fluorinated graphene is substantially unrippled due to their very high bending rigidities. There is no significant effect of thermal rippling throughout graphane and fluorographene due to their very high bending rigidities. However, partially hydrogenated or fluorinated graphene exhibits strong thermal fluctuations. Graphene behaves differently from graphane and fluorographene with regard to the dependence of bending rigidity on temperature. Furthermore, significant out-of-plane fluctuations may occur in partially fluorinated graphene. Thermal fluctuations of graphene are more sensitive to temperature than those of graphane and fluorographene.

In spite of significant efforts to investigate the ability of hydrogenated and fluorinated graphene to conduct heat, little research has focused particularly upon their other thermal properties, such as thermal contraction and heat capacity, which have implications for the development of thermal nanotechnology. In an attempt to determine these thermal properties, a few experiments have been carried out, with rather conflicting results. In the present study, calculations were performed using molecular dynamics to investigate the thermal properties of graphane and fluorographene and especially the phenomena involved. The thermal expansion coefficients and heat capacities of the two-dimensional materials were determined at different temperatures. The results indicated that graphane is thermally contracted more significantly than graphene. The calculated molar heat capacity at constant volume is about 25.00 J/(mol·K) for graphene and about 29.26 J/(mol·K) for graphane. The specific heat capacity of fluorographene is always lower than that of graphane. A negative relationship does exist between the binding energy and the temperature.

The carbon nano-peapod is a representative structure with interlayer van der Waals (vdW) interactions, in which encapsulated fullerene molecules play a critical role in modulating the transport properties of the carbon nanotubes (CNTs). In particular, their influence on the thermal transport characteristics has been the focal point of considerable attention. In this study, we trained an accurate machine learning potential for fullerene-encapsulated CNTs based on the efficient NEP model to investigate their thermal properties. Using equilibrium molecular dynamics simulation along with the spectral decomposition method for thermal conductivity, we find that the thermal conductivity of fullerene-encapsulated CNTs is roughly 55 % lower than that of empty CNTs, aligning with experimental observations for CNT bundles with fullerene encapsulation [Kodama et al., Nat. Mater. 16, 892 (2017)]. The research suggests that weak vdW interactions between both the fullerene and CNTs, as well as between fullerene molecules themselves, hinder phonon propagation. The encapsulated fullerene contributes to an increase in phonon scattering within the CNTs, ultimately leading to a reduction in thermal conductivity. We utilized machine learning potential to investigate the structure of fullerene-encapsulated CNTs and their heat transport property. The use of flashlamp annealing as a low-temperature alternative or supplement to thermal annealing is investigated. Flashlamp annealing and thermal annealing were conducted on 100 nm thick indium tin oxide (ITO) films deposited on glass to compare the properties of films under different annealing methods. The ITO samples had an average initial sheet resistance of 50 Ω/sq. After flashlamp annealing, the sheet resistance was reduced to 33 Ω/sq only, while by thermal annealing at 210 °C for 30 min, a sheet resistance of 29 Ω/sq was achieved. Using a combination of flashlamp annealing and thermal annealing at 155 °C for 5 min, a sheet resistance of 29 Ω/sq was achieved. X-ray diffraction analysis confirmed that flashlamp annealing can be used to crystallize ITO. Flashlamp annealing allows for low-temperature crystallization of ITO on a time scale of 1–3 min. Through electrical and optical characterizations, it was determined that flashlamp annealing can achieve similar electrical and optical properties as thermal annealing. When an impurity with a light mass is inserted into a crystal, it can undergo a high-frequency oscillation referred to as a local vibrational mode (LVM). A Fermi resonance may occur between the LVM and lower-frequency modes of the defect. The LVM may also interact with phonons or the electromagnetic field. Understanding these interactions can help model and control diffusion, defect reactions, and thermal conductivity. LVMs have been probed in semiconductors using pressure and alloying as experimental parameters, resulting in anticrossing between localized and extended vibrational modes. These types of vibrational interactions could play an important role in the stability and thermal properties of organic–inorganic hybrid semiconductors. Recently, nanostructuration has been proposed to improve the performance of phase change memories. This is the case of superlattices composed of amorphous carbon and crystalline germanium telluride, which we have investigated by molecular dynamics. For this, a modified Stillinger–Weber potential is adapted to reproduce their stiffness contrast/impedance ratio. In order to study the effect of the interface interaction, two sets of parameters are used to model the interfaces with different interactions between the two materials using the properties of the softer material or the average properties between the two creating an adaptation of impedance across the layers. The effects of interface roughness and carbon diffusion at grain boundaries are studied. Using equilibrium molecular dynamics as well as the propagation of wave-packets, we show first that without impedance adaptation, the anisotropy is high, and the roughness has a marked impact on the properties. However, the introduction of impedance adaptation destroys those effects on the thermal conductivity. Finally, we show that the periodic texturing of the interface increases the transmission of in-plane transverse phonons. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Time-domain thermoreflectance (TDTR) and frequency-domain thermoreflectance techniques have been widely used to measure thermal properties. However, the existence of the metal sensor brings some limitations to the experimental measurement, such as temperature limits, disability to measure low in-plane thermal conductivity, in situ measurement cannot be achieved, etc. This paper proposes a transducerless time-domain thermoreflectance method to measure in- and cross-plane thermal conductivity of nanofilms, in which the optical absorption depth and thermal conductivity tensor are considered to establish a new differential equation that can describe the heat conduction process in multilayer structures. This thermal model can also calculate the effects of spot ellipticity and spot offset distance. Then, the analytical solution and relative deviation of this new model and the surface heat flow boundary model used in conventional TDTR are compared by calculating the phase signals. In terms of experimental measurement, this model is successfully used to derive cross- and in-plane thermal conductivity of PdSi and IrNiTa amorphous alloy nanofilms without a metal sensor. We report on the thermal and magnetic properties of D y 1 − x S c x N i 2 series compounds (x = 0.1 , 0.3 , 0.5 , and 0.7), which were investigated through a model Hamiltonian including the exchange, Zeeman, and crystalline electric field interactions. We investigated the effect of Sc substitution on the Dy site on the magnetic and magnetocaloric properties of these compounds. Theoretical results were simulated for heat capacity, entropy, and the magnetocaloric effect quantities. Our model reproduced the decrease of the magnetic ordering temperature and of the isothermal entropy change peaks as Sc concentration increases. The performance of sustainable polymers can be modified and enhanced by incorporating functional groups in the backbone of the polymer chain that increases intermolecular interactions, thus impacting the thermal properties of the material. However, in-depth studies on the role of intermolecular interactions on the crystallization of these polymers are still needed. This work aims to ascertain whether incorporating functional groups able to induce intermolecular interactions can be used as a suitable systematic strategy to modify the polymer thermal properties and crystallization kinetics. Thus, amide and additional ester groups have been incorporated into aliphatic polyesters (PEs). The impact of intermolecular interactions on the melting and crystallization behavior, crystallization kinetics, and crystalline structure has been determined. Functional groups that form strong intermolecular interactions increase both melting and crystallization temperatures but retard the crystallization kinetics. Selecting appropriate functional groups allows tuning the crystallinity degree, which can potentially improve the mechanical properties and degradability in semicrystalline materials. Amino acid‐based poly(ester urea)s are an attractive class of polymers that are of interest for a variety of biomedical applications. Generally, amino acid‐based poly(ester urea)s are prepared by polymerization of diamines, which are obtained from the corresponding amino acids and aliphatic diols. This article presents an alternative synthetic strategy that uses diamine monomers obtained from aromatic, 4‐hydroxycinnamic acid‐derived diols. A library of structurally related diamine monomers has been prepared by coupling l‐leucine to 4‐hydroxycinnamic acid‐based diols that incorporate alkyl spacers of different lengths. The exploration of 4‐hydroxycinnamic acid as a building block is interesting as it can be obtained from various biological resources, such as for example lignin, and thus provides an opportunity to take advantage of (under‐utilized) bio‐based renewables for the design of new polymer materials. These diamine monomers can be copolymerized in a solvent‐free, one‐pot, two‐step process using dimethyl carbonate as an environmentally sustainable reagent to afford amino acid‐based aromatic poly(ester urea) homo‐ and copolymers with thermal properties that can be tuned by varying the chemical structure of the diamine monomer, or via copolymerization of two different monomers. ABSTRACT Low‐temperature densification of alumina using calcium vanadate (CaV2O6, CV) having a similar dielectric constant as a liquid‐forming additive has been studied. The alumina‒CV composites containing 20‒40 vol.% CV achieve ∼94% of theoretical density at low temperatures of 1100°C‒900°C by liquid‐phase sintering. A reduction in the average size of grains from .87 to .42 µm with a surge in CV amount from 20 to 40 vol.% is observed. The permittivity decreases from 9.2 to 8.90, and the dielectric loss increases from 2.154 × 10‒3 to 4.761 × 10‒3 when the amount of CV in the alumina‒CV composite rises from 20 to 40 vol.%. The temperature coefficient of resonance frequency, thermal expansion coefficient, and thermal conductivity of the alumina‒CV composites are observed in the ranges of ‒54 to ‒72 ppm °C‒1, 6.94‒7.32 ppm °C‒1, and 13.78‒8.02 W m‒1 K‒1, respectively. The compatibility of the composites with Ag for low‐temperature co‐fired ceramics (LTCC) application is established through co‐sintering and energy‐Dispersive X‐ray spectroscopy line spectra analysis. The low‐temperature densification, acceptable range of dielectric and thermal properties, and silver compatibility make the alumina‒CV composite a candidate for LTCC application. The high production cost and extremely weak mechanical properties of SiO 2 aerogels have been two major challenges hindering its widespread application. Atmospheric pressure drying (APD) has always been regarded as the optimal process to reduce costs. However, traditional APD is cumbersome, still uses a large amount of expensive raw materials, and is extremely immature. In this study, a novel APD was developed, inspired by the wing changes during adult damselfly process. Inorganic silica source/water was used as the raw material, and CO 2 was used instead of low surface tension solvent to stabilize the aerogel skeleton structure in situ, and ultimately aerogel material was obtained. The thermal conductivity of pure aerogels was as low as 0.0264 W/(m·K), the porosity reached 94.7 %, and the preparation cycle was only 28.5 h. The thermal stability of the skeleton structure and the chemical stability of surface were investigated and showed the hydrophobicity to withstand temperatures up to 400 °C. Aerogel composites feature low thermal conductivity of 0.0283 W/(m·K), and prominent thermal insulation properties over a wide temperature range of 50–300 °C. For traditional APD, this method shortens preparation cycle by 1–6 times. Compared with the commercial aerogel, the cost is reduced by 38.2 %, and the process is simple and environmentally friendly under the premise of ensuring excellent performance. Dy3+, Eu3+ co-doped glass ceramics (GCs) containing SrMoO 4 crystalline phase were prepared by melt-curing-crystallization method. The most favorable heat treatment conditions for the glass ceramics were found to be 610 °C/2 h by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), ultraviolet spectrophotometer (UV–Vis), X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The best doping concentrations of Dy3+ and Eu3+ in this glass ceramic were 0.8 % and 0.6 %, concentration quenching caused by dipole-dipole interactions occurs when the content of rare earth ions in GCs continues to increase. The chromaticity coordinates of the Dy3+- Eu3+ co-doped glass ceramics changed from cool white light to warm white light with the addition of Eu3+ concentration. At the optimal doping concentration (0.8 % Dy3+-0.6 % Eu3+), the chromaticity coordinate of glass ceramics is (0.3972, 0.3331), and the related color temperature is 3047 K. The luminescence intensity can still reach about 80 % of room temperature at 180 °C, and its thermal quenching activation energy is 0.233 eV. This suggests that glass ceramics have excellent thermal stability. After adding an appropriate amount of Li+, the crystalline phase of the glass ceramics remained unchanged and the luminous intensity of the glass ceramics increased by a factor of about 1.4 in the same environment. The thermal quenching activation energy of the glass ceramic doped with 0.2 % Li+-0.8 % Dy3+-0.6 % Eu3+ was 0.344 eV. This study describes the preparation of bimodal reinforced Cu/Ti 3 SiC 2 /C laminated-like composites using flake powder metallurgy and vacuum hot-press sintering process. The objective was to accurately modulate the formation of oriented reinforcement network in two-dimensional carbon materials. The powders used in the five designed composites were flake Cu powder (45–60 μm), Ti 3 SiC 2 (1–5 μm), graphite flakes (GFs, 120 μm) and graphene nanoplatelets (GNPs, 15 μm). Among them, the proportions of Ti 3 SiC 2 (10 wt %) and GFs (3 wt %) remained unchanged, GNPs accounted for 0 wt %, 0.5 wt %, 1.0 wt %, and 1.5 wt %, and Cu powder accounted for a decreasing proportion. Formation mechanisms of GFs and GNPs in oriented networks were quantitatively analyzed using the alignment model. Additionally, the related strengthening and failure mechanisms were investigated. According to the study, the bimodal laminated-like Cu/Ti 3 SiC 2 /C composites with 0.5 wt% GNPs added showed the best overall performance. Specifically, it exhibited a hardness of 125.7 HV, tensile strength of 276.3 MPa, thermal conductivity of 207.8 W m−1 K−1, and electrical conductivity of 23.6 MS/m. The network enhanced by the two-dimensional carbon material achieves efficient and orderly load transfer and dissipation mechanisms, optimizing stress distribution and enhancing fracture resistance, resulting in improved mechanical properties. In addition, the formation of the oriented reinforcement network optimizes the orientation arrangement of the reinforcing particles, which somewhat mitigates the scattering of thermoelectric carriers by structural defects in the composites, and the enlarged mean free-range improves the migration efficiency of electrons and phonons. Inspired by the significant catalytic charring effect of metal–organic frameworks (MOFs), Cu‐MOF decorated ammonium polyphosphate (APP@Cu‐MOF) was prepared by coupling agents to improve the fire safety of epoxy resin (EP). After adding 9 wt% APP@Cu‐MOF, the fire performance of EP is significantly improved with limiting oxide index (LOI) value of 29.4 and UL‐94 V‐0 rating. The peak heat release rate (PHRR), total smoke production (TSP), CO production, and CO2 production of EP composite samples decreased by 34.6%, 54.7%, 24.6% and 30.0%, respectively. It is proposed that the synergistic effect among Cu‐MOF and APP promoted the char formation of EP. The dense carbon layers formed a barrier that prevented the transfer of heat and inhibited the release of toxic gases, thus acting as a flame retardant. The escalating threat of bacterial infections to human health necessitates innovative antibacterial strategies and materials. Despite this need, there is still a significant demand for materials that combine high mechanical and thermal properties with biocompatibility. To address these urgent issues, our study investigates the development of poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA) composite with graphene flakes (GF) as fillers. The aim is to strengthen the unique properties of graphene to enhance antibacterial activity. Graphene oxide (GO) was used as a surfactant to achieve stable graphene dispersion in water, preserving its inherent properties while avoiding the drawbacks associated with common surfactants, such as property reduction and complex removal processes. In this study, the mechanical and thermal properties of PVA composites containing GO and GF are superior to those of pristine PVA. Especially, the PVA‐2 composite exhibited a notable enhancement in both tensile strength and elongation at break compared with the PVA composite, with increases of 7.8% and 15% respectively. Moreover, PVA‐2, 4, and 6 composites exhibit significant antibacterial efficacy, achieving 4.8 and 4.9 log CFU/cm2 for Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli, respectively. These results indicate that the enhanced oxidative stress induced by GO as a surfactant, combined with the physical damage caused by the increased GF nanostructures. This study highlights the potential of PVA/GF/GO composites in biomedical and tissue engineering applications, providing a promising pathway for the development of new antibacterial materials. Currently, flexible thermal interface materials (TIMs) containing hexagonal boron nitride (h‐BN) as thermal conductive fillers become a research hot spot. In this study, PDMS@BN composite films were prepared using spin‐coating technology, providing a facile and efficient method for the preparation of TIMs. The effects of spin‐coating speed and time on the thermal conductivity and the orientation degree of BN within composite films were investigated. Additionally, a theoretical model was established to calculate the thickness and thermal conductivity of PDMS@BN composite films under various spin‐coating conditions. The findings indicate that with an increase of spin‐coating speed and extension of spin‐coating time, the thickness of the composite films gradually decreases, while the in‐plane and through‐plane thermal conductivity gradually increases. When compared to a low spin‐coating speed of 500 rpm, the thermal conductivity of the films produced by a higher speed of 2500 rpm, exhibited an increase of 274%. The film achieves outstanding thermal conductivity (5.79 W m−1 K−1), extremely thin thickness (60 μm), high volume resistivity (1.22 × 1013 Ω cm) and excellent flexibility by incorporating 60 wt % h‐BN flakes. This work uses pure polyvinyl chloride (PVC) with magnesium oxide (MgO) nanoparticles to enhance PVC's optical and shielding properties. The distribution of MgO nanoparticles in the PVC polymer was shown using a scanning electronic microscope, x‐ray diffraction, and Fourier transform infrared. The prepared samples' optical parameters and thermal analysis are investigated using ultraviolet (UV) spectroscopy and thermogravimetric analysis, respectively. The shielding characteristics parameters for the prepared samples were experimentally tested using a Cs‐137 point source with an energy of 0.662 MeV, and the outcomes were contrasted with what the XCOM software had calculated. Results indicated that optical constants were significantly affected by the addition of MgO wt% concentration. The linear attenuation coefficient was directly proportional to the weight concentration of MgO nanoparticle filler in the PVC matrix, and the ability to absorb UV increased. Adding MgO nanoparticle concentrations improved the PVC composite's radiation shielding behavior. It concluded that the PVC/MgO nanoparticle‐prepared samples are suitable for packaging for industrial applications and apron shielding for medical applications. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

A Sapozhnikov plastometer is equipment that is commonly used, particularly in Asia, for measuring the contraction of the coal bed as well as the plastic layer thickness during the coking process. The relationship between the Sapozhnikov contraction X and the maximum plastic layer thickness Y values and other thermal rheology testing techniques is not fully understood. It leads to difficulties in the interpretation of data using different thermal rheology properties measurement techniques. In this work, a series of coal samples were analyzed in parallel using the automatic Sapozhnikov plastometer, the Gieseler plastometer, and the Ruhr dilatometer. The measurement results were compared to assist in the interpretation of data generated using different coal thermal rheology property measurement techniques. The Sapozhnikov X results are found not comparable due to the difference in sample particle size and testing conditions for component coals with the wide range of maximum mean reflectance (Ro), but a significant linear correlation on the contraction/expansion behavior between Sapozhnikov and Ruhr dilatation test is observed for experimental coal blends Ro between 1.00 and 1.20. Sapozhnikov Y results are linearly related to the melting range from both the Gieseler plastometer and the Ruhr dilatometer for all the experimental single coals and coal blends. An embedded-atom method (EAM) potential for the Pd–Ba alloy system has been developed in order to forward computational research in this alloying system as there is no EAM potential available for this alloy system. The force-matching method has been implemented to develop the EAM potential first, and then, optimisation to converged density-functional theory (DFT) data sets has been done to generate the accurate and reliable potential for the Pd–Ba alloy system. Some physical, elastic and thermal properties of BaPd2 crystal have been calculated through molecular dynamics (MD) simulation using the developed EAM potential and then verified these properties with the help of DFT analysis in order to examine the performance of the potential. The presence of some even peaks of BaPd2 in virtual XRD spectra using MD simulation has been justified by DFT analysis. Slight deviations in melting points calculation at different compositions of the Pd–Ba alloy system have been observed. Higher Ba–Pd interaction using radial distribution characteristics and slower kinetics for inter-diffusion through diffusional characteristics study of BaPd2 have been reported using MD simulation with the developed EAM potential. In spite of some discrepancies due to deficiency in the potential, a closer agreement between MD and DFT analysis has been observed. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

New C/SiC composites with continuous fibers were produced through impregnation of carbon fiber preforms and consolidation by hot pressing. The resulting sintered material was investigated as a potential target for nuclear applications, such as radioisotope production. Desired properties include high porosity and high thermal conductivity to allow isotope release from the targets while working at high temperature. To this end, porosimetry and thermal and mechanical characterizations were conducted up to 1250°C. It was shown that the addition of fibers resulted in high porosity, about 40%, while maintaining a very high thermal conductivity, 40 W/m∙K at 1250°C, a value particularly attractive for the intended application. Emissivity at 1250°C was 0.76, compressive strength at room temperature was 134 MPa, and flexural strength passed from about 90 MPa before thermal conductivity measurements to 50 MPa after the tests. The development of high-power piezoelectric ceramics with superior piezoelectric properties and broad temperature usage ranges is vital for the thriving progress of electromechanical applications. However, achieving high piezoelectricity, high mechanical quality factor, and temperature stability often presents a trade-off. In this study, we present an advanced ceramic material with excellent high-power piezoelectric properties and superior temperature stability. The piezoelectric coefficient d 33 reaches 348 pC N−1, the electromechanical coupling factor k p is 54%, the mechanical quality factor Q m is 1501, the dielectric loss tanδ is 0.35%, and the d 33 variation is less than 10% within 25–210 °C in 0.05Pb(Mg1/3Nb2/3)O 3 -0.05Pb(Mn 1/3 Sb 2/3)O 3 -0.9Pb 0.95 Sr 0.05 (Zr 0.48 Ti 0.52)O 3 ceramic. The excellent piezoelectricity is attributed to the enhancement of intrinsic ionic displacement and reversible domains wall motion because of symmetry-conforming short-range distribution of oxygen vacancy, while the high Q m is a result of increased domain size and oxygen vacancy. The outstanding temperature stability is related to the stable non-180°domains structure due to the oxygen vacancy pinning effect. These properties hold great potential for advanced applications, particularly for piezoelectric high-power applications requiring constant d 33 over a broad temperature range. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Strontium titanate nanoparticles (SrTiO 3 NPs) were produced via the solid-state reaction method. Then, they were used to enhance the structural, mechanical, electrical, and dielectric properties of polyvinyl alcohol (PVA)/polyethylene oxide (PEO) blend for energy storage applications. For this purpose, SrTiO 3 NPs were dispersed in the polymer blend to fabricate nanocomposite films using a solution casting method. The nanocomposite films were then characterized using a variety of instruments, such as transmission electron microscopy (TEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier-Transform Infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), Ultraviolet/Visible spectroscopy (UV/visible), and impedance analyzers. Based on XRD and TEM measurements, the synthesized SrTiO 3 NPs have a cubic perovskite phase and a diameter that varies between 70 and 160 nm. Additionally, according to XRD measurements, adding SrTiO 3 NPs to PVA/PEO reduces the crystallinity of the resulting nanocomposites. In addition, the surface morphology and elemental composition were demonstrated through the utilization of scanning electron microscope. (SEM) and energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopic analysis (EDX) spectra, where PVA and PEO polymers formed a homogenous and rough surface, and the SrTiO 3 NPs of low concentrations were spread out within the blend's structure. Analysis of the FTIR peaks revealed prominent characteristic peaks associated with vibrational groups that change randomly with the concentration of SrTiO 3 NPs. With increasing SrTiO 3 NPs concentration, the nanocomposite UV/visible absorbance, optical bandgap energies, and refractive index were calculated and discussed. Impedance studies conclude that the amount of SrTiO 3 NPs in a mixture raises the mixture's AC electrical conductivity, dielectric loss, and dielectric constant. The mechanical characteristics, such as Young's modulus, yield strength, and strain at failure, were assessed by examining the tensile test of prepared films. The thermal stability of PVA/PEO-SrTiO 3 nanocomposite films were studied by thermogravimetric analysis (TGA). During the machining of Inconel 718 using SiAlON ceramics, the tool life can be significantly influenced by diffusion wear. To investigate this crucial wear behavior, this study focuses on the thermochemical interactions in the diffusion couple between SiAlON ceramics and Inconel 718 superalloy. So, we examine the microstructural characteristics and phase formation behavior in the reacted layer between these two materials. The interfaces between these two materials exhibit distinguishable elemental contrasts and phase formations. Particularly, the phases indicate vitrification or devitrification in the diffusion layer, influenced by the chemical composition. This issue in the diffusion couple was analyzed with thermophysical properties using light flash analysis (LFA). After, it was confirmed that the vitrification of the diffusion layer can be induced by the conduction behavior of heat trapped between SiAlON and Inconel 718 during supercooling. These characterizations verify that the devitrification of the welding layer (diffusion layer), resulting from the reaction between SiAlON ceramics and Inconel 718 superalloy, can depend on the thermal conductivity of the prepared ceramics. In this work, a series of K 2 O–MgO–B 2 O 3 –P 2 O 5 (KMBP) glasses were prepared by the melt-quenching method and the glass-ceramics were prepared by the one-step heat treatment. The thermal, structural, physical and optical properties, as well as the crystallization behaviour of the KMBP system, were investigated in detail using characterization techniques such as DSC, XRD, SEM, FTIR, transmittance spectroscopy and microhardness. As indicated by DSC, the thermostability and glass-forming ability were gradually enhanced through the partial substitution of K 2 O by MgO. XRD showed that the main crystalline phases of the glass-ceramics (GC) were gradually converted from the P –Mg–K–O based crystalline phases to the P –Mg–O based and the P –Al–O based crystalline phases. The SEM results indicated that tiny grain-like crystals were successfully precipitated from the parent glasses after heat treatment. The deconvoluted FTIR spectra results showed a gradual conversion of the [BO 3 ] and [PO 3 ] units towards the [BO 4 ] and [PO 4 ] units with the increase of the MgO contents. The increase in the degree of glass network polymerization was the essential reason for the increment in the microhardness of the parent glasses. The microhardness of GC featured a trend concordant with the crystallinity of the crystalline phases. The values of metallization criteria (M C) between 0.34 and 0.45, as well as the higher values of third-order nonlinear polarizability (χ (3)) and nonlinear refractive index (n nl) are indicative of the good suitability of the KMBP glasses for the nonlinear optical applications. Barium borosilicate (BBS) glass is a potential three-dimensional system packaging and sensor cover material. In this study, we prepared glass samples with different SiO 2 /B 2 O 3 ratios based on the revised model of Dell and Bray and discussed the effect of boron anomaly on dielectric and thermal properties through Raman spectroscopy. The results indicate that the [BO 4 ] tetrahedrons are beneficial in reducing the dielectric constant and dielectric loss to a certain extent, while the improvement in the coefficient of thermal expansion (CTE) is attributed to the depolymerization of the glass network by the [BO 3 ] triangles. After the disappearance of the boron anomaly, a certain amount of dielectric performance is sacrificed in exchange for an increase in the CTE. When the substitution rate of B 2 O 3 for SiO 2 reaches 15.12 mol%, the CTE of the sample increases to 8.43 × 10−6/°C, in addition, the dielectric constant and dielectric loss decrease to 4.90 and 0.0071 (@1 GHz), respectively. In summary, this work provides a suitable method for preparing glass with a high coefficient of expansion and low dielectric loss to address the thermal mismatch effect of different materials in electronic packaging systems. Bioactive glasses (BG) containing silicon, phosphorous, and boron have emerged as promising materials for bone tissue engineering. Modifying ions play a multifaceted role in BGs, influencing their structure, properties, and biological activity that depends on their size, charge, and coordination chemistry. This study investigates the addition of sodium borate (Na 2 B 4 O 7) to the 58S BG and the mixed alkali effect (MAE) resulting from incorporating Na and B ions into the CaO–SiO 2 –P 2 O 5 system. In specific concentrations, Na+ and Ca2+ ions function as network modifiers, introducing structural disruptions and generating defects that impact the glass transition temperature (T g), crystallization temperature (T c), hardness, and sintering characteristics. The physicochemical characterization of BGs confirms the incorporation of Na and B structures. Furthermore, the Na and B doped glass sample with a [Na/Si] ratio of 0.045 exhibits favorable properties for promoting cell attachment, including forming a hydroxyapatite (HAp) layer over the surface, thereby accelerating human placental mesenchymal stem cells (hPMSCs) proliferation. A range of new fluorine‐containing copolyarylates were successfully produced through interfacial polymerization using hexafluorobisphenol A (BPAF) featuring a symmetric trifluoromethyl group structure, bisphenol B (BPB), and two acyl chloride monomers as raw materials. The results indicated that the synthesized amorphous copolyarylates exhibited good solubility, with number average molecular weights (Mn) of 19,000–44,000 g/mol, weight average molecular weights (Mw) of 66,000–159,000 g/mol, and intrinsic viscosities of 0.66–1.19 dL/g. The thermal stability of copolyarylates increased with the increase of BPAF monomer content (0~100%), which was manifested by the linear increase of glass transition temperature (Tg) from 201.6 to 237.1°C, and the increase of 5% thermogravimetric weight loss temperature (T5%) from 474.1 to 491.5°C. The tensile strength of copolyarylates ranged from 52.63 to 59.93 MPa, the tensile modulus ranged from 1102.08 to 1502.84 MPa, and the elongation at break ranged from 32.0 to 75.5%. Highlights The bonding interface of carbon‐fiber‐reinforced polymer (CFRP)‐reinforced steel structure is a weak part, and nanomaterial‐modified adhesives are expected to improve its comprehensive performance. This paper investigates the micro‐modification mechanisms of nanomaterials on epoxy resin adhesives using molecular dynamics simulation method. It explores how the functionalized nano SiO2 and carbon nanotubes affects the thermal and mechanical properties of the epoxy resin adhesive. The models established using Materials Studio software include the pure epoxy resin adhesive model (EP) with varying degrees of crosslinking, the functionalized nano‐SiO2‐modified epoxy resin adhesive model (EP + SiO2/OH), the single‐walled carbon nanotube‐modified epoxy resin adhesive model (EP + SWNT), and the synergistic enhancements model of the epoxy resin adhesive with nano‐SiO2 and carbon nanotubes (EP + SWNT + SiO2/OH). Based on the aforementioned models, the Forcite module is used to calculate the free volume, glass transition temperature and mechanical properties of the adhesive. The results show that the degree of crosslinking effects significantly the mechanical performance of epoxy resin adhesive. A high degree of crosslinking restricts the movement of the molecular chain, enhancing the strength of the epoxy resin adhesive. Furthermore, the trend of the mechanical and thermal properties of the four models remains constant with the rise of temperature, and the properties decrease most significantly in the range of the glass transition temperature. Moreover, the epoxy resin adhesive doped with nanomaterials exhibits varying degrees of enhancement in mechanical and thermal properties. The epoxy resin adhesive reinforced with functionalized nano‐SiO2 and carbon nanotubes exhibits better properties compared to those with a single nanomaterial. This study examines the morphology and various thermal, mechanical, and rheological properties of polylactic acid (PLA)-based nanobiocomposites. The objective of this investigation is to evaluate the potential of modified Algerian clay as a nanofiller through an examination of the characteristics of PLA/Mag-CTA and PLA/CMC nanobiocomposites with varying levels of prepared fillers. This study is concerned with the synthesis of poly(lactic acid)/Maghnite-CTA (PLA/Mag-CTA) and poly(lactic acid)/microcrystalline cellulose (CMC) nanobiocomposites, with two distinctive catalysts and organic reinforcements produced in solution. The outcomes of the various techniques employed demonstrate that PLA nanobiocomposites exhibit a mixed morphology, comprising intercalation and exfoliation. The results from the diverse techniques used show that the PLA nanobiocomposites developed have a mixed intercalated-exfoliated morphology. The dispersion of the Maghnite-CTA filler and microcrystalline cellulose was enhanced during the production of the various materials, as well as the presence of aggregates at high levels. The best rheological performance, corresponding to the optimal dispersion of the nanofiller, was observed for a low quantity of organic filler. Thermal behavior properties were significantly enhanced with the incorporation of the two nanofillers. Analysis by steric exclusion chromatography showed that the fillers used in the nanobiocomposite synthesis increased the average molecular weights of the PLA chains, while the polydispersity index remained constant. Reduced graphene oxide (rGO) was prepared from waste plastic using the two steps pyrolysis method and subsequently functionalized with ethylene diamine (EDA) to develop amino‐functionalized rGO (EDA‐rGO). To make the thermal and mechanical properties more proficient, EDA‐rGO was further incorporated as a nanofiller into a low‐density polyethylene (LDPE) matrix using the melt mixing method followed by hot‐pressing. A variety of analytical methods, such as FT‐IR, XRD, XPS, DSC, TGA, DMA, Raman spectroscopy, and HRTEM, were used to characterize the elements and morphology of rGO and EDA‐rGO. The results showed that the addition of 5 wt% EDA‐rGO to LDPE polymers significantly improved the mechanical and thermal properties, such as storage modulus by 62%, loss modulus by 67%, young's modulus by 123%, tensile strength by 79.83%, respectively. The thermal decomposition temperatures of 5%, 10% and 50% were increased by 14.01, 9.34, and 4.8°C, respectively. This study provides a feasible and ecologically sustainable way of repurposing plastic waste concurrently enhancing the properties of polymer composites. The continuous updating and iteration of electronic devices brings about a significant accumulation of heat. It is urgent to enhance the thermal properties of polymer‐based composites to alleviate the heat dissipation problem in the microelectronics industry. In this paper, the hot drawing process was introduced to increase the crystallinity of ultra‐high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) fiber and improve its thermal conductivity. The ultra‐high molecular weight polyethylene fiber/epoxy resin (UHMWPE fiber/Epoxy) composites with high thermal conductivity were prepared by compositing UHMWPE fiber with epoxy resin under vacuum conditions. Due to the good crystallinity of the UHMWPE fiber (86%), an efficient thermal conduction path is provided for phonons in the axial direction along the fibers. The results show that the thermal conductivity of the composites reaches a maximum of 3.51 W/mK (in‐plane), which is 17.47 times higher than that of the epoxy resin (0.19 W/mK). The thermography pictures indicate that the composites have better heat transfer capacity with an increase in the draw ratio (λ). In addition, the composites also have the characteristics of low density and low electrical conductivity. These researches will provide a new idea for the preparation of all‐polymer composites with high thermal properties. Carbon fiber reinforced epoxy resin matrix composite is one of the most important composite materials in the world. Many researchers have conducted a lot of research on epoxy resin matrix systems in recent years, mainly to improve the problem with the short curing time of the matrix system and epoxy resin's high viscosity. The final aim is to enhance various aspects of composites' performance and optimize the production process. A new type of water dispersed epoxy resin matrix system is investigated in this paper and the target is to optimize the mechanical, thermal, and electrical performances of the composites with the water dispersed epoxy resin matrix by varying different doping particles and different resin/catalyst ratios. Through a series of experiments, it is evident that varying the ratio of resin to catalyst in the matrix system will not significantly improve the mechanical as well as thermal properties of the composites. However, increasing the amount of catalyst in the matrix system can greatly improve the electrical properties of its composite samples. In addition to this, the addition of doping particles to the matrix systems has the effect of slightly enhancing the tensile modulus, thermal conductivity, and electrical conductivity of their composites.
