Biomass culture of microalga T. pseudonana in F2, TMRL, AGP, Conway and Walne nutrient media. In the AGP nutrient medium, T. pseudonana culture reached a maximum cell density of 1.23 ± 0.04 x 106 cells/ml with a specific growth rate of µ = 0.23/day after 6 days of cultivation. On the Conway, TMRL, Wal¬ne and F2 nutrient media, T. pseudonana reached maximum cell densities of 1.03 ± 0.01 x 106 cells/mL, 0.94 ± 0.03 x 106 cells/mL, 0.91 ± 0.02 x 106 cells/mL, and 0.89 ± 0.03 x 106 cells/mL, with specific growth rates of µ = 0.21/day;, µ = 0.20/day; µ = 0.15/day and µ = 0.17/day after 7 days of culture, respectively. In AGP 15% and 20% nutrient media, T. pseudonana microalga reached maximum cell densities of 1.12 ± 0.04 x 106 cells/mL, 1.20 ± 0.05 x 106 cells/mL with specific growth rates of µ = 0.18/day and p, = 0.30/day after 7 and 6 days of culture, respectively. In AGP 5%, 10%, and 25% nutrient media, T. pseudonana culture reached max¬imum cell densities of 0.75 ± 0.03 x 106 cells/mL, 0.97 ± 0.03 x 106 cells/mL, and 0.98 ± 0.01 x 106 cells/mL with specific growth rates of 0.11/day, 0.20/day, and 0.20/day after 7,8 and 8 days of culture, respectively. AGP 20% nutrient medium produced the highest biomass and logarithmic cumulative cell concentrations per day and can be used in future experiments. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
