- Abstract
Naatia Poetry has its own history, creative and aesthetic traditions and poetic diction. Love and Praise, and aesthetic description of the holy attributes of Prophet (PBUH) is a part of our faith. Hazrat Hassan Bin Sabit R.A. is one of the prominent poets of the era of Prophet (PBUH). Naatia poetry is available in many languages especially Urdu. Naat has been a ceremonial creative experience since the early days of Urdu literature. Naat is in fact one of the richest genre of Urdu poetry. It flourished with a miraculously speed after the creation and independence of Pakistan and the poets turned toward this genre with an overwhelming anthusiasm. They dedicated themselves to this noble creative experience and produced volumes of unprecedented standard of literary aesthetics. Every Naat poet has his own style, expression and priority in regard to the contents and thoughts. Riaz Hussain Ch. is one of the prominent Naat Poets of Pakistan whi dedicated whole of his life in producing Naat literature and promoting this art in all creative, aesthetic and intellectual directions. His experiments in poetic language using unique similes, metaphors, imagery and introduction of some new forms of poetic genre Naat will go a long way in enriching the artistic assets of Urdu naatia poetry. His Naatia Poetry style is uniqie and versatile. Main part of his Naatia poetry is in Ghazal tradition, but he has created a rich reservoir of Nazm Naat of a variety of forms; that may be called epic Naat poetry keeping in view its size. He wrote long poems of Naat which no other poet has attempted in Urdu Naat literature. The variety includes Nazm, Fardiyat, long Nazm, Musadas, Muarra, free verse, sonnets, etc. In this article we shall highlight his style of poetry, main themes of his Naat thought, linguatic approach and its effect on the tradition of our Urdu Naatia poetry.
