- Abstract
Antiquariat collections for taxonomic researchers are very vital collections because they are used to compare species found in the field. To fulfill this, the LIPI Scientific Data and Documentation Center conducted a survey on the use of antiquariat collections by researchers in the Cibinong area library, Purwodadi area library, Bogor-Cibodas area library, Ambon area library and Jakarta area library. The survey aims to (1) determine the utilization of antiquariat collections available in the library; (2) knowing the management of the types of antiquariat collections available in the library; (3) know the procedures for storing antiquariat collections. The survey was conducted on April 27 to May 31, 2021 using the google form. The survey results state that researchers need antiquariat collections as a source of reference and a source of knowledge in conducting research. The researcher supports the transfer of antiquariat collection media in digital form. The special room for the storage of antiquariat collections has not met the requirements, causing the collections to be easily fragile and damaged. The high intensity of use is one of the factors causing damage to the collection. Media transfer on antiquariat collections needs to be done immediately to prevent damage and facilitate its use by researchers. Based on the facts in the field and the results of the survey, it is recommended to prepare a special storage room for antiquariat collections, immediately carry out the transfer of antiquariat collection media, and procure collections or collaborate on the use of antiquariat collections.

This study aims to determine the process of procurement of library materials at the Regional Library and Archives Service of Muaro Jambi Regency. The research method used is library research methodologically classified as qualitative research with a descriptive approach in the form of a case study which aims to explain the procurement of library materials at the Regional Library and Archives Service of Muaro Jambi Regency. Data collection techniques used were through observation and interviews. The findings of the study are (1) the Regional Library and Archives Office of Muaro Jambi Regency has carried out library material procurement activities through purchases from book agents, bookstores, gifts, entrances and through assistance once a year. (2) The Regional Library and Archives Office of Muaro Jambi Regency has never procured serial publications, as well as non-book materials (recorded works) because according to them library materials are rarely needed by users. (3) The procurement of library funds for library materials is not running properly as seen from the constraints that occur, namely the lack of spending funds for the procurement of library materials both from series published library materials and recorded library materials, as well as the lack of attention from leaders leading to the procurement of library materials so that the available collections incomplete, not up to date and not used by the user. From these findings, it is hoped that the Regional Library and Archives Office of Muaro Jambi Regency will continue to procure collections of serial publications and recorded works because these collections can increase the number of collections available, create public interest in reading and add to the repertoire of library collections. Furthermore, the Regional Library and Archives Service of Muaro Jambi Regency should process funds properly by paying attention to user needs so that library materials purchased are in accordance with user education. Then also the head of the library must pay more attention that leads to the procurement of library materials so that the available collections can be more up to date, complete, and can be used by users. Purpose The purpose this study was to determine currency of print health materials readily available in North Carolina public libraries, through a statewide assessment. Two subject areas were examined: health reference and diabetes. Design/methodology/approach In total, 30 randomly selected public libraries were visited and unobtrusive stacks assessments were completed. Some months later, the libraries’ websites were examined for collection development policies, and online catalogs were searched using the keyword diabetes to identify possible discrepancies and additions. Findings For visits, publication dates for reference books ranged from 1899-2014 and the average number of holdings was 10 (range 0-30). The most common reference item, the AMA Family Medical Guide (2005), was available in 6 of 30 libraries. In diabetes collections, publication dates ranged from 1983-2013; the average number of books was nine (range 0-26). The Atkins Diabetes Revolution (2004) was the most common, available in 9 of 30 libraries. Two-thirds of libraries did not have a collection development policy online. Catalog searches revealed 10 titles prior to 1983 and 18 titles (non-cook books) from 2014-2016. Practical implications The study found overall that print health reference books were outdated. In diabetes collections, there were also many outdated items. It appears that regular weeding to assure currency of print health literature is not taking place. Originality/value The study demonstrates that public libraries may not be providing optimal print health information. With unprecedented access, it is imperative that librarians in all types of settings aid in health literacy promotion by assuring access to reliable and timely health information.

Indonesia has a natural tourist attraction in the form of 54 national parks spread across regencies and cities, with an area of 16,304,707.13 hectares, featuring a diversity of ecosystems, high mountains, lowlands, savannahs to wetlands, and waters. However, the appeal of natural tourism does not necessarily contribute to the performance of national tourism, hence studies need to support of increase in tourist arrivals to national parks, one of which is to study tourism competitiveness in areas that have national parks in Indonesia. This research aims to develop a model of tourism competitiveness management in areas that have national parks in Indonesia. The theory underlying this research is the theory of tourism competitiveness through the approach of the competitiveness index of the Travel & Tourism Competitiveness Index, Indicators for Measuring Competitiveness in Tourism, and Competitiveness Monitor. The research design uses 20 competitiveness factors, where data collection techniques utilize data that has been available at both government and non-government institutions and the data collection method uses library research. The data were analysed by using the dynamic model method. The results of the study found that tourist arrivals significantly correlated simultaneously with the factor of tourism competitiveness of the districts and cities that have national parks, tourist arrival, revenue tourism, and conservation in zona utility of national park in Indonesia. It is proposed that local governments, national parks management and other interested parties make policy innovations to optimize the factors of tourism competitiveness in their regions to support or increase in the number of tourist visits in national parks.

General Engineering - Abstract
Thesis/Objective – The main aim of the article was to present the re- sults of the analysis of the content of posts made available by eighteen Polish uni- versity libraries in the period immediately preceding and during the COVID-19 pandemic. Research methods – The mixed methods study involved the use of qualitative and quantitative approaches, with a commercial online tool the Karma Fanpage service for social media analytics monitoring being used to collect data from individual fanpages. In order to determine the subject matter of the posts, the author of the article used ten codes, to which he assigned each post. Results/ Conclusions – The study showed that all Polish university libraries (part of pub- lic universities) used Facebook as part of their daily activities, both before and during the pandemic. This included using if for marketing purposes, such as, promoting events they organized, and library offerings. In the period before the pandemic, the most frequent posts were related to various scientific, educational, and popularizing events. Most of events took place at the library building. The pandemic and the necessary precautions it provoked, made the remote services of libraries one of the key elements in their daily functioning. The greatest number of posts in the analyzed periods concerned library collections and services, main- ly those available online.

General Medicine - Abstract
The article considers the system of information support of Russian scientific research in the field of natural sciences process. It’s gradual creating and development based on the creation of hybrid scientific library, using both the local (located directly in the library) traditional collection, and collections of electronic full-text media available remotely to the library patron and being a virtual part of the whole library collection. The article deals with the use of scientific journals (mainly foreign) as the most important part of the scientific resources required by Russian scientists’ access. The analysis is based on the Library for Natural Sciences of the Russian Academy of Sciences (one of the leading scientific libraries in Russia) example. The mentioned process started in the last centuries 1990s, and, as shown in the article, passes through several stages. From the very beginning, the process required for the libraries to unite into associations for the electronic resources joint use. These associations took, in accordance with international experience, the form of library consortia. At the first stage, consortia were created to bring together several libraries to access the electronic resources of a single foreign library. This system turned out to be viable, but rather cumbersome for a library (for effective work a library has to be a member of several consortia, which turned out to be non-technological). At the next stage, a single consortium was created with the support of the Russian Foundation for Basic Research — Scientific Electronic Library RFBR. Further development required the direct state on the one of the Ministry of Higher Education and Science projects basis support. This process went through several development stages (using as a project operator consortium NEICON, the RNPLS&T and again RFBR — at another level of organization and funding). As a result, by 2020 the providing mainly information support for the work of the main mass of scientific and educational institutions in the specified field system was created and debugged on the practical level. By the early 2020s, the work had entered a more or less stable working mode. The issues requiring an urgent solution are the lack of an insurance copy of resources purchased abroad, which creates an uncertain situation in the event of the relationship with the resource owner termination, and the absence, in full, of a similar access to Russian scientific resources system, if their publication rights, in part, have been transferred to foreign publishers.

- Abstract
LPP Yogyakarta Polytechnic Library is a facility provided as a learning resource. The number of collections available in the library makes it easier for students to access various knowledge. On the other hand, the available books come from donations, so there is still a lack of control over the availability of certain books. For example, books that are given by contributors are related to engineering sciences, while those that are sought after are books on plantation science. Based on these problems, in order to optimize the availability of books, it is necessary to analyze so that the ratio of availability and the number of enthusiasts is appropriate. One alternative is to implement data mining using the K-Means Clustering method to help library managers analyze by grouping books from the number of borrowed and the number of available copies so that they can be used to support the decision whether to reproduce books with related titles or not. The data used in this study is the history of borrowing books from the Yogyakarta LPP Polytechnic Library for approximately 2 years. The final result of the research in the form of book data is the most in demand, quite in demand, and the least in demand.

- Abstract
Women's Studies Archive: Rare Titles from the American Antiquarian Society, 1820‐1922 provides literature by female authors on the American woman's experience in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. It is the third database in Gale's Women's Studies Archive, which is only one of a number of Gale Primary Sources collections. It contains more than one million pages of works from the American Antiquarian Society, all authored or edited by women. The works available here are drawn from the American Antiquarian Society's library collections and cover a wide variety of nonfiction subjects and fiction genres. This database is relatively easy to navigate, though the numerous available search and browse functions may prove confusing to some. Despite this relatively minor complication, this resource offers a broad and varied range of materials from female authors in the time period indicated above. This is not a subscription database; instead, it must be purchased. The price, based on full-time enrollment (FTE), can range from $22,080 to $27,600. The licensing agreement for this database is too long, overly detailed, and sometimes repetitive, but in most ways is average in its composition.

- Abstract
Homeless population and the right of access to health services Abstract: The process of social exclusion is directly reflected in the access to public policies. Although there are legal advances in the delimitation of the rights of vulnerable populations, violations of guarantees and basic citizenship rights are recurrent and directly interfere with access to public policies, especially in relation to health services. The present article has the objective centered on the analytical investigation of the rights of access to health services by homeless populations, in Brazil, built from a critical reading of the National Policy for the Homeless Population (PNPSR) and investigations related to the theme, available in the electronic collection of the Virtual Health Library (VHL), in the following databases: Latin American and Caribbean Literature on Health Sciences (LILACS), BDENF-Nursing and Medical Literature Analysis and Retrieval System Online (MEDLINE). Publications and documents from the electronic domain of the Ministry of Women, Family and Human Rights were also used. Although the national policy represents an important exponent of the legal achievements of this group, the rights provided for the homeless population are not guaranteed in an inclusive and integral way in all states and municipalities, with greater emphasis on the fragility in the adhesion to the System. Single Health. In this context, readjustments in health service offerings, such as the active search in the streets, readjustment of the flow of access and care in primary health care services, are fundamental for the expansion of care. Mbooks are open-access, digitized books freely available on the Internet. This article describes the Auraria Library's experience of loading brief MARC records for Mbooks into its online public access catalog and looks at some of the issues that arose from the record-loading project. Despite the low quality of the records, librarians in Auraria Library thought that loading them into the catalog was advantageous because of the rich content in the collection and because many of the records could be improved using the global update functionality in the catalog. Making the records available through the catalog, as opposed to merely linking to the entire collection from the Library's Web page, was considered to be valuable because of the aggregation a catalog provides and because the Mbooks collection helped fill gaps in the Library's physical collections. As more open-access, digitized books become available, libraries will need to plan and manage how best to provide access to them.

- Abstract
The development of information technology in the field of education, especially in the Non-formal education unit of Palangka Raya City Learning Activities Center, requires a library information system. This library information system can increase the effectiveness and flexibility in collecting books, collecting members, and borrowing and returning books because, in the Non-formal education unit of the Palangka Raya City Learning Activities Center, things are still conventional, namely, the process of collecting books, collecting member data, and carrying out loan and return transactions is only carried out by writing on books. School libraries have a very influential role in the achievement of national education. The waterfall development method was used in the design of this information system. Where the waterfall method has six phases, namely requirement definition, system and software design, implementation and unit testing, integration and system testing, and operation and maintenance, The results achieved are the availability of information systems supporting the processes of book data collection, member data collection, and book lending transactions. The existence of this web-based library information system is intended to assist librarians in managing book data, member data, and book loan and return transaction data, and this information system is also expected to facilitate students in searching for book collections available in the library.

This poster was given by Alwaleed K. Alkhaja, Qatar National Library Open licensing is critical for GLAMs, as it promotes access to and reuse of cultural and educational materials for the public. Open licenses, such as Creative Commons, allow for sharing, remixing, and commercial use of content within specified conditions. In the context of GLAMs, open licensing can enhance diplomacy by enabling cultural exchange and fostering a sense of shared cultural heritage. Locally, open licensing can foster cultural exchange and support the growth of creative industries, encouraging the use of cultural collections in creating new works and promoting cultural diversity. Internationally, open licensing can facilitate cross-border collaboration, the sharing of cultural resources, and the repatriation of cultural heritage. Moreover, archives and libraries can make their collections available under open licenses, allowing researchers and educators in other countries to access and use them in their work. This type of collaboration helps to promote cultural understanding and supports a shared global cultural heritage. In this presentation, we will examine the benefits of open licensing in GLAMs and discuss best practices for GLAMs in adopting open licensing, such as using Creative Commons licenses and developing open access policies. We will be presenting about Qatar National Library’s efforts in opening its collections, from international partnerships to licensing practices, and supporting open access publishing of Qatar’s research outputs. This presentation will also highlight some of the barriers faced by GLAMS on a global scale, from copyright limitations, cost of digitization, and balancing commercial interests with open access to cultural heritage.

The article introduces the history of the formation of the Japanese collection in the National Library of Russia. Materials in Japanese are available in various departments of the library; the article focuses on the largest collection of materials in Japanese, namely the Japanese collection of the Department of Asian and African Countries Literature (DAAСL). An attempt is made to briefly present two topics: firstly, the history of the Japanese collection and the department, and secondly, the history and sources of the acquisition and formation of the Japanese fund. Therefore, the article is divided into two sections. In both sections, the history of the DAAСL and the topic of international book exchange in the library are closely interconnected with the main topic of the article, the formation of the Japanese collection. The author also emphasizes the difficulties, negative factors and challenges faced by the fund and the library, not to underestimate the role of the Japanese collection of NLR, but to show what solutions were found throughout its history.

- Abstract
The Nicaraguan poet, journalist, and diplomat Rubén Darío was one of the foremost writers of the modernist movement in Latin America at the turn of the 20th century. In his writing, Darío struggled with the historicity of Spanish and the weight of colonialism. Throughout his career, his work explored the changes in language, religion, love, and sexuality in the postcolonial era. A collection of Darío’s manuscripts and transcripts of Darío’s poetry and correspondence with other journalists, diplomats, poets, and romantic partners is available at the Arizona State University Library. This collection contains unique correspondence with important persons who were modernists and politicians, such as Emilio de Arriaga, Pedro Balmaceda Toro, Ernesto Bermúdez, Luis Bonafoux, Francisco Castro, Benigno Díez Salcedo, Rodolfo Espinosa, Fermín Estrella, Vicente Gasset, Crisanto Medina, and Amado Nervo. The archive was collected by Darío’s secretary, Alejandro Bermúdez. These papers may be seen online or in person at the Hayden Library.

Copies of Dalāʾil al-Khayrāt (Proofs of Good Deeds) by the Moroccan Sufi saint Muḥammad b. Sulaymān al-Jazūlī (d. 870/1465) were in high demand in the eighteenth- and nineteenth-century Ottoman Empire. This required producing manuscripts in large numbers and, later, printing the text. These mostly lithographic copies and corpora of the Dalāʾil al-Khayrāt, when combined with references to biographical dictionaries, inheritance records, inventories, library catalogues, and endowment deeds, reveal a great deal of information about the public and private prevalence of the text, within and beyond the empire. The Dalāʾil al-Khayrāt appealed to many individuals, from Ottoman sultans to royal women, and from madrasa students to members of the learned class. Its copies were endowed to mosques and libraries, held in different book collections of the Topkapi palace, and were available from booksellers. Be it silently or aloud, the Dalāʾil al-Khayrāt could be read in private homes and in mosques from Istanbul to Medina, a feature of pious soundscapes across the empire.

Critical to the successful implementation of Open System Architecture (OSA) test software, in accordance with the requirements of IEEE 1641[1][2], is the implementation Signal Libraries using the Test Signal Frameworks (TSFs) that provide the test program set (TPS) Developer with the suite of defined signals to be used for the test software. This paper aims to provide insight for the TPS developers and guidance on the best practices to be followed when creating and reusing Signal Libraries. It also considers issues to be kept in mind when bringing together a collection of existing Signal Libraries to be used for testing, and references examples that are available for future developers. The paper considers research into the effects of different methods that could be used for matching the TSFs used in describing UUT test requirements and instrument capabilities. This includes evaluation of their relative merits using a variety of “use cases” and example TSFs. Typical User questions are also considered along with their answers. The example TSFs referenced within the paper represent a collection of Signal Libraries available used in previous demonstrations and brought up to the IEEE Std. 1641-2010 standard. These include Signal Libraries provided as part of 1641 demonstrations and previous reports and form the basis of an OSA Signal Library. The technical analysis considers both symbolic signal expression and signal simulation, to address issues such as signal equivalence, quantization, phase jitter and overall performance. The purpose of the paper being to produce material for inclusion into recommendations and guidelines that will ensure best practice can be followed when generating Signal libraries for a wide range of signal types. This will ensure that Signal libraries are fit for purpose, and achieve the desired level of quality necessary for future matching UUT test requirements against the instrument capabilities. In addition, this will ensure that the UUT requirements are NOT over specified against the instrument capability used to initially implement the test solution. To ensure best practice across OSA RTS users, formal guidelines are required for the process of creating and defining IEEE 1641 TSFs in order to minimize differences between signal libraries and any effects that become apparent when implemented on different ATEs, using different instrumentation. The paper considers guidelines which could form the basis of a recommended practice to ensure standardization across the 1641 user base for use on Military or Commercial Automatic Test Systems (ATS).

This study investigated the level of undergraduates’ satisfaction and their perceptions towards library resources and services provided by the Science Library, University of Peradeniya. The survey research method was adopted to achieve the above objectives. A questionnaire was administered to 442 undergraduates of the Faculty of Science. 371 duly filled questionnaires were returned, were then analyzed. The findings revealed that more than 60% of the undergraduates visited the library daily and weekly, while more than 80% of them visited the library for multiple purposes. Regarding the available resources, the majority of the undergraduates were satisfied with the library book collection, periodicals and available magazines. Yet, only 39% and 32% of students reported that they were satisfied with e-resources and audiovisual materials available in the library respectively. Considering the library services, the majority of respondents were satisfied with lending, reference, referral and photocopying services. However, 11% of them were not satisfied, where as 13% of the students were not even aware of online services provided by the library. Further, the findings demonstrated that limited number of computers, unavailability of Wi-Fi facilities, unawareness of the library website, difficulties of accessing the Internet and searching research articles were the main reasons for students’ dissatisfaction. However, the majority of the undergraduates praised the library staff for offering an impressive service. The results proved that undergraduates have positive perceptions towards the library and its services. Based on the findings, some suggestions were made to increase user satisfaction and to enhance the library resources and service quality.

In 1968, the decision was made to develop the University of Louvain into two linguistic sections: ‘Katholieke Universiteit Leuven’ (KULeuven today), Dutch-speaking, which remained in Leuven, and the ‘Université catholique de Louvain’ (UCLouvain today), French-speaking, which was transferred to Ottignies (1972–1979). In parallel, reflections carried out on the evolution of the University in the wake of May 1968 led authorities from both new universities to favour a decentralised model of faculty libraries, in order to guaranty greater user proximity. After a brief historical introduction, we present the powerful tool now available to all potential users: the formation and state of the current collections, the organisation of the library, the digitalisation of its catalogue, and other services offered on the heuristic and teaching level. We conclude with an evocation of partnerships and prospects.

In 2018, the University of Kansas (KU) Libraries upgraded from a tired, twenty-year-old basement space to a new, purpose-built conservation lab for library and archives collections. The new conservation lab, which is housed in the special collections and archives library, quadrupled available lab space for its conservators and fleet of student employees. The move afforded Conservation space in the same library as the most vulnerable collection materials. In addition, rooms in the special collections and archives library were repurposed for audiovisual (AV) preservation, creating two new spaces for film and video workflows and upgrading an existing small audio room. This paper will discuss the conservation and preservation lab construction literature and will serve as a practical exemplar of the challenges and successes of the planning process, including lessons learned and unexpected benefits.

A customer-centered organization ensures that the needs of clients are at the focal point of all services offered in the organization and that the customer gets the best customer experience throughout the service. Research has shown that service institutions are deterred from offering customer-centric services due to issues relating to organizational culture, structure, processes, and financial metrics. This study explores strategies and mechanisms to support academic libraries towards achieving customer-centric service provision. In this regard, this study identifies three parameters and explores their role in delivering customer-centeredness in academic libraries, namely, access to library services, staff responsiveness and organizational support. Findings of this study show that library customers wish for a relevant library collection, an available service, unlimited information access, spacious reading area, a conducive study environment, sufficient library equipment and supportive staff.

The article highlights the first stage of creating a specialized collection (section) “For Library Professionals” on the portal of the National Electronic Library (NEL). The last decade’s trend has been a reduction in the number of titles of professional library publications, and a drop in their average circulation. In these conditions, the issue of providing library and information specialists with relevant scientific, practical and reference literature has become urgent. One of the ways to solve the problem is creating electronic collections of professional library literature. The article analyzes the Russian State Library’s experience in this area since the early 2000s. Currently, the special collection “For Library Professionals” is available on the basis of the National Electronic Library, a key library and information project of recent years. The collection has been accessible since July 2019. At the beginning of 2020, this section included about 1,5 thousand documents of different types (monographs, indexes, textbooks and manuals, collected scientific articles, proceedings of scientific conferences, periodical materials, etc.). At the end of 2 019, a survey w as conducted on the feasibility of maintaining a professional library collection in the NEL, which was attended by about 700 professionals in the area. The article analyzes the results of this survey, which indicate the demand for such electronic collections of professional library literature and show the priority topics demanded by library employees and expectations in the field of search capabilities.

- Abstract
In the late 1960s, many universities created Black Studies programs in response to student demands. Because of the rapidity with which Black Studies became a discipline on campus, academic libraries faced challenges related to building collections and providing services for students when little time was available to plan for the changes. Within the context of political debates of the day, both within and outside of library administration, the responses of academic libraries to student demands leaned toward supporting a “liberal” vision of Black studies as an academic discipline similar to other disciplines, and away from supporting a “radical” vision of Black studies as a means of community empowerment. This article examines the responses of four academic libraries—at New York University, Rutgers University, Princeton University, and the University of Pennsylvania—to the advent of Black Studies on their campuses between 1966 and 1971.

Objective This article describes how funding from the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) provided resources for state and public libraries to deliver health information to their patrons. Methods Three IMLS publicly available data collections were used: State Library Administrative Agency Survey data; State Program Report system; and the Awarded Grants Search portal. Data about health related projects from these two administrative data sources for 36 competitive award projects since 2015 and 143 projects supported via the formula-funded Grants to States Program between 2015-2018 (inclusive) were included. Descriptive statistics about projects with a health and wellness focus were presented within the context of others supported by Grants to States. Results Competitive projects supported public libraries’ health resources and built librarians’ skills to facilitate patron access to health information. The Grants to States program supported 143 projects associated with health undertaken by 29 states plus Puerto Rico between 2015 and 2018. The IMLS $14.4 million investment during this period leveraged an additional $5 million from state and local sources to support health information projects in public libraries. Finally, data from the State Library Administrative Agency Survey showed that in addition to projects that relied on IMLS Grants to States funds, 29 state libraries provided program assistance in health literacy to the public libraries in their jurisdictions in 2018. Conclusions The findings point to a need to determine whether there are ways to collect additional information via IMLS’s data systems to further support state and public libraries in meeting patron health information needs. The lessons learned in the analyses in this article offer useful food-for-thought about how IMLS might work with our data stakeholders to continue to modify each of these data sources to describe the role of libraries in an increasingly complex information landscape.

The purpose of the present study was to predict emotional intelligence based on the Prosocial Personality in people aged 16 to 56 living in Tehran during the COVID-19 era with descriptive and correlational methods. 92 people (43 women and 49 men) were selected from among the 16 to 56-year-old people living in Tehran during the COVID-19 period of 1400-1401 as the available sample. Data collection was in library and field. Research tools included emotional intelligence questionnaire (MSEIS) and Prosocial Personality (PSB). Due to the spread of the COVID-19 virus and to prevent the spread of the disease, relevant questionnaires were created through the Porsall system, and the link was provided to the participants for answering. The research data was analyzed using SPSS-26 software with two methods of descriptive statistics and inferential statistics. In descriptive statistics, mean, standard deviation, frequency tables and relevant charts were used, and in inferential statistics, according to the research method, regression and Pearson tests were used to check research hypotheses. The results of the regression test of the main hypothesis of emotional intelligence and Prosocial Personality are significant (r=0.000) and Prosocial Personality predicts 14% of emotional intelligence changes in people. Also, the sub-hypotheses of the research showed that there is a positive and significant relationship between emotional intelligence and its dimensions, including evaluation of emotions in oneself and others, regulation of emotions and perception and understanding of emotions with a Prosocial Personality with a probability of 99% (P

Objective: To apprehend the representations of dental caries present in a Brazilian print media, considering different historical periods, with emphasis on the dietary factor in the issue of etiology and disease prevention. Methods: This is a descriptive documentary research study carried out from the analysis of digitalized printed editions of Jornal do Brasil, published between 1891 and 1990, available for consultation on the electronic portal of the collection of periodicals entitled Brazilian Digital Library. For the search, the terminologies ‘cárie dentária’ and ‘cárie dental’ (both meaning dental caries) were used. The platform displays editions from pre-determined time periods. The displays were considered for all journalistic genres, composing or not the main or prominent theme. The data found were analyzed qualitatively. Results: In total, 675 occurrences were registered with the term ‘cárie dentária’ and 33 with the term ‘cárie dental’. The representations of dental caries had multiple and complex variations. The object reconstruction process generated the categories: prevention, public policy and etiology. The topic of food diet significantly crossed the entire time span studied and remained frequently linked to tooth decay, sometimes related to the etiology, sometimes to the prevention of the disease. Conclusion: Jornal do Brasil reflected old knowledge in the field of dentistry, added new scientific knowledge and popularized it for the readership of the written press.

- Abstract
It can be challenging to add standard textbooks in science and engineering disciplines to the library collection since many are only available in print format. When these texts are placed in the circulating collection, they are often stolen, hidden, or borrowed by other universities making them unavailable. When these texts are placed on reserve, they are protected like course textbooks but have low usage due to the short loan period. To combine these options, a new STEM Collection was created to house higher risk standard textbooks. Topics to be covered are why this new collection was needed based on statistics for lost and missing textbooks, how it functions including guidelines for identifying higher risk items, ways it is being promoted, and what worked and did not work during the pilot.

Correct identification and proper monitoring are vital components of integrated pest and disease management. The Android application – Smarter Pest Identification Technology (SPIDTECH) – was developed for the digital identification and remote monitoring of insect pests and diseases of rice, corn, coffee, cacao, banana, coconut, sugarcane, tomato, and soybean in the Philippines. SPIDTECH has three main features: the digital identification of insect pests and diseases using a smartphone camera; the digital library that contains images, identification signs, life stages, management practices, and other pertinent information about a pest or disease; and the remote monitoring that enables real-time mapping of reports through user-contributed images and GPS points. The application can identify 71 insects and 63 diseases, while the library features a collection of 104 insects and 89 diseases available in English and Filipino. The identification uses a pretrained MobileNetV2, a convolutional neural network design by Google for mobile devices. The models were retrained using the pest and disease image dataset collected specifically for this study and logging 55.7–73.3% accuracy. If connected to the internet, devices send image data from the field that are validated and used for model retraining. SPIDTECH recorded more than 7,400 device downloads from March 2019–July 2021 and received 4.8 out of 5 user review ratings. Based on the user-provided registration data in the same period, it has more than 5,600 registered users from 81 provinces with an average user acquisition rate of 266 new users per month. With the current features deployed, the application received more than 8,000 identification requests for different crops. The application has gathered a significant number of users necessary to evaluate the feasibility of the application in assisting in pest and disease identification and remote monitoring for the major crops in the Philippines.
