Recurrently, dual vocational education and training systems are said to be unable to adapt to rapid changes of labour market requirements because of their large number of specialised occupations. To reduce the number of occupations and create broader profiles is one proposal for increasing flexibility, for example, by combining similar occupations in so-called occupational fields. However, little is known about the actual practices of establishing occupational fields. Based on the case study of piano makers in Switzerland, we shed light on an occupational associations’ institutional work. Regulatory changes disrupted the piano makers’ occupation. Yet, the occupational association reinstitutionalised it as part of the musical instrument makers’ occupational field together with other occupations. More than a decade later, the piano makers are reintroducing their former occupational title, which is deeply connected to their occupational identity. Therefore, this case study illustrates the resilience of occupations within occupational fields.

This article investigates the legal and political evolution of the institution of pardon in Romania between 2000 and 2009 with a special focus on the abrupt changes it has been subjected to during the mentioned period. Two important episodes need to be recalled for the redefinition of this concept: the Law no. 546/2002 permitting the regulatory and institutional framework of this institution (previously functioning under a decree issued in 1952); and the pardon and its revocation in the case of Miron Cozma. The article emphasizes a strong articulation between the progressive legal framework of the institution of individual pardon, the dynamics of the political context, and the personal strategies of legitimation used by President.

Although exact figures are lacking, many studies show that mental–physical multimorbidity is common in older people (van den Brink et al., 2013). Particularly, older patients with a chronic disease often have psychiatric disorders (Verdurmen et al., 2006). Conversely, medical comorbidity is common in psychiatric patients, especially cardiovascular, pulmonary, and neurological disorders and diabetes (Lyketsos et al., 2002).
