Millimetre wave (mmWave) has great potential in vehicle‐to‐vehicle (V2V) communication to provide wide bandwidth and low latency. However, the biggest challenge for the use of mmWave is the high propagation path loss and susceptibility to blockage among vehicles, especially in urban streets. Vehicle shadow fading is quite common in the actual V2V communication. The non‐line‐of‐sight scenarios are considered and the impacts of blocking vehicles on the characteristics of the V2V wireless channels are studied. The measurements are conducted for two scenarios. For the first scenario, a blocking truck is placed between transmitting and receiving cars. For the second scenario, a car is added as a reflector beside the truck. Based on the measurement results, a path loss model for the V2V communication is developed. In order to further verify the effects of building scattering, a simulation is setup and the results are consistent with the measured results.

This study established a mechanical model of an elastic foundation beam for hard roofs in stopes, considering the support rigidity system in the cyclic fracture movement of basic roofs. The characteristic functions of the deflection and bending moment of a three-section hard roof (front of rock beam wall, roof controlling zone, and cantilever zone) were obtained. The action rules of failure characteristics and coal body elasticity modulus kc of the hard roof, rigidity ks of the support system in the roof controlling zone, elasticity modulus E of the basic roof, and roof load q on the roof fracture and coal wall deformation were explored. Results were shown that: the end fracture of cyclic rock beam movement occurred in front of the coal wall. With the kc value decreased, the maximum bending moment of rock beam moved toward the deep part of the coal body. The larger the ks, the lower the maximum bending moment of the rock beam, and the lower the vertical displacement of the coal body and the deformation of the hydraulic support. When the E increased, the maximum bending moment value of the rock beam and the lead of the peak position of bending moment increased, and the vertical displacement of the coal body at the coal wall decreased significantly. E only influenced the change rate of the subsidence curve of the rock beam within a certain range at the rear portion of the coal wall. The maximum bending moment of rock beam and the vertical displacement of coal body at the coal wall increased proportionally as the load q increased.

Background COVID-19 pandemic is sweeping across the world. Previous studies have shown that gut microbiota is associated with COVID-19, and operational taxonomic unit (OTU) composed of Blautia genus, Lactobacillus genus, and Ruminococcus genus of Firmicutes is correlated with the severity of COVID-19. Gut microbiota imbalance in colorectal cancer patients may lead to the variation of OTU. Results Based on the GMrepo database, the gut microbiota of 1374 patients with colorectal neoplasms and 27,329 healthy people was analyzed to investigate the differences in the abundance of microbes between colorectal neoplasms patients and healthy people. Furthermore, We collected feces samples from 12 patients with colorectal cancer and 8 healthy people in Xiangya hospital for metabolomic analysis to investigate the potential mechanisms. Our study showed that the abundance of Blautia and Ruminococcus was significantly increased in colorectal neoplasms, which may increase the severity of COVID-19. The gender and age of patients may affect the severity of COVID-19 by shaping the gut microbiota, but the BMI of patients does not. Conclusions Our work draws an initial point that gut microbiota imbalance is a risk factor of COVID-19 mortality and gut microbiota may provide a new therapeutic avenue for colorectal cancer patients.

This paper was to explore distribution and evolution of surrounding rock stress as well as roadway deformation failure during the exploitation of working faces in complex stope. Here, distribution and evolution laws of surrounding rock stress and strata pressure behaviors in the complex island panels 1213(1) in a mine in Huainan Mine during early isolation, overhead mining, normal isolation and stopping in gob were analyzed by combining FLAC3D numerical simulation and field measurement. Results were shown that surrounding rock stress distribution along the strike direction and incline direction, abutment pressure peak value and position as well as surrounding rock deformation in the roadway were different in different mining stages. Different spatial stope layout (left and right gob, lower gob and upper gob) could influence the abutment pressure distribution on working faces, stress concentration range and surrounding rock deformation in roadway significantly. Therefore, professional analysis, reasonable design and safety mining should be performed in advance according to specific engineering geological conditions. Research conclusions could provide certain engineering references and guidance to stope arrangement, optimal design of mining roadway and mine pressure control.

Theoretical analysis proves that, based on the bandpass sampling principle, for a typical RF-modulated signal, if the appropriate sampling rate is used, the signal can be restored without distortion even if the sampling rate is much lower than the carrier rate. The final signal-to-noise ratio of the sampled signal is the result of a combination of "double sampling rate noise" and "quantized noise". According to the systematic algorithm, on the basis of eliminating the frequency error and phase error, the constellation diagram of the measured signal can be obtained, and then the digital modulation error parameters such as EVM can be calculated. Measurement experiments verified the correctness of this method. This measurement method has low cost and has clear traceability to the measurement of parameters such as EVM.

Iron ore sintering is the main SO2 emission process in iron and steel industry. The flue gas of iron ore sintering has been cleaned by desulfurization equipment, which causes high capital and operation cost. A novel technology of reducing SO2 emission of flue gas during iron ore sintering process by adding urea into granules bed was investigated in this paper. The results show that the emission concentration of SO2 in flue gas decreased significantly by adding urea loaded in the bed. The desulfurization rate higher than 85% was obtained when 0.05% urea was added in the bed at the height of 70–150 mm from the bed bottom, and there is no adverse influence on sintering indexes and final sinter quality.

Although melatonin has been shown to exhibit a wide variety of biological functions, its effects on promoting self-renewal in retinal stem cells remain unknown. We found that melatonin can significantly increase proliferation and enhance expression of a stem cell marker, nestin, in retinal neural stem cells (NSCs) via melatonin receptor 1 (MT1). The ERK pathway inhibitor SCH772984 and TGF-β pathway inhibitor SB431542 were used to study the melatonin-mediated molecular mechanisms of cell proliferation in NSCs. The results revealed a novel molecular mechanism of melatonin promotion of self-renewal of NSCs in which a chain reaction in the ERK and TGF-β/Smad pathways promotes self-renewal and transcription of nestin. In addition, dual-luciferase assays revealed that Smad4 directly regulated nestin transcription after melatonin treatment in NSCs. These findings revealed novel mechanisms through which the ERK pathway cooperates with the Smad pathway to regulate self-renewal in NSCs to enhance nestin expression.

There are large amounts of waste shrimp shells in the coastal cities or countries. In this study, the waste shrimp shells were used to produce the chitosan (CS), on which MnFe2O4 was coated, forming novel adsorbents - MnFe2O4/CS microspheres (MCMS). The adsorption performance of Cu(II) and Cd(II) onto MCMS was investigated by batch experiments, which focused on the adsorption influence parameters, adsorption isotherm, thermodynamic parameters, adsorption kinetics and adsorption regeneration. The characterization of CS and MCMS was determined by XRD, FTIR, SEM/EDS, XPS, and BET, and determined deacetylation degree and molecular weight of CS. The results showed that the adsorption is a spontaneous exothermic process, which could be described well by pseudo-first-order model and Langmuir model. The maximum adsorption capacities of Cu(II) and Cd(II) were 62.3 and 60.6 mg g−1, respectively. The regeneration experiments indicated that MCMS could maintain adsorption capacities after 3 cycles of adsorption - regeneration. BCR sequential extraction procedure for MCMS adsorbing heavy metals from sediments showed that the MCMS could absorb the Cu and Cd metals selectively in the following fractions: weak acid extracted, reducible and oxidizable.

Iron ore sintering is an important part during the ironmaking process, and a large amount of SO2 is also generated. Our previous research shows that it is an effective way to reduce SO2 content of flue gas by adding urea to a special sintering material zone position. In this paper, the mechanism of selective desulphurization by adding urea during the iron ore sintering was carried out. The results show that 88.14 % desulphurization rate was obtained with the addition of 0.05 % urea particles at 100 mm height from the feed bottom. During the sintering process, when drying zone reached the added position of urea, large amounts of NH3 were generated by urea decomposition, and then reacted with SO2 to produce (NH4)2SO4 in the wetting zone. With the accumulated desulphurization reactions during the sintering, the low SO2 emission in the flue gas was achieved. Moreover, the addition of urea in the bottom zone avoided the ammonia present in the sintering ore and promoted the urea utilization efficiency.

Electromagnetic riveting (EMR) technology as a relatively new mechanical joining process has many advantages compared to traditional riveting methods. However, it needs to be investigated whether the traditional pressing riveting can be replaced by EMR process in aerospace manufacturing engineering. Therefore, in this paper, the differences of riveting quality between automatic riveting and handheld EMR were compared by riveting and mechanical experiments including the uniformity of interference fit, shear and pull-off strength and fatigue life of the joints respectively. It was observed that the interference fit of the riveting joint using EMR is more uniform along the axial direction of rivet than that of automatic riveting. In addition, the overhang of the rivet was difficult to control by handheld EMR, so the quality of rivets for EMR was poorer than that of automatic riveting. Thus, the shear and pull-off strength and fatigue life of EMR joints were affected by the quality of rivets, and a longer rivet is needed for the EMR.

In the design and construction of far-field of antenna measurement, big quiet area and small chamber size is with contradiction, this paper attempts to explore how to ease this contradiction. In this paper, the quiet zone taper model is deduced, and the expression of the “ideal” antenna radiation amplitude and phase function can be obtained, which indicates that the radiation phase characteristic is critical. Then a FDTD simulation model of 0.8 GHz ~ 23 GHz broadband horn antenna is established. The simulation results show that the antenna phase characteristic presents as an “ideal” curve. If the theory can be realized in engineering, chamber length can be compressed and significant investment in construction can be saved.

A new strategy was explored to achieve hyperbranched–branched diblock polyolefin from ethylene alone via chain walking and chain transfer polymerization. In ethylene polymerization process, {2,6-iPr2–C6H3 N=C(CH3)–(CH3)C=N–iPr2 –C6H2}NiBr2/methylaluminoxane/ZnEt2 first produced hyperbranched polyethylene chains via rapid chain walk under 40 °C and then, prepared branched chains via moderate chain walk at 0 °C. ZnEt2, as chain transfer agent, was added into catalyst system to facilitate reversible chain transfer between nickel metal active centers and zinc metal inactive centers to synthesize hyperbranched–branched diblock polyolefin. The resultant polyethylenes were analyzed by gel permeation chromatography and 13C NMR spectra and the results indicated that hyperbranched–branched diblock polyolefin was successfully synthesized via chain walking and chain transfer polymerization.

To investigate the related factors of renal functions in hypertensive patients with obstructive sleep apnea-hypopnea syndrome (OSAHS).A total of 438 hypertensive patients with complain of snoring at night were enrolled in the study from the First teaching Hospital of Xinjiang Medical University during March 2011 and March 2014. The diagnosis of OSAHS was confirmed with polysomnography examination, and the patients were divided into 4 groups according to the apnea hypoventilation index (AHI): hypertensive group (AHI10/h, n=102), mild OSAHS group (AHI 10-15/h, n=97), moderate OSAHS group (AHI 15-30/h, n=149), and severe OSAHS group (AHI≥30/h, n=90). The blood urea, creatinine, eGFR, 24h-urinary total protein (24h UTP), 24h-urinary microalbumin, cystatin C (Cyst C) were measured and compared among groups, and the influencing factors of renal function were analyzed.There were no significant differences in age, gender, body mass index(BMI), 24-hour systolic blood pressure (24hSBP), fasting blood-glucose, high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) among the groups (P0.05). 24h-UTP and 24h-urinary microalbumin in the severe OSAHS group were higher than those in other groups (P0.05); and all patients with OSAHS had higher Cyst C levels than those without OSAHS (all P0.05). Logistic regression analysis showed that BMI (OR=1.486, 95% CI 1.022-2.160) and severe OSAHS (OR=7.138, 95% CI 1.835-27.769) were influencing factors of 24h-UTP; blood pressure (OR=2.368, 95% CI 1.324-4.234) and BMI (OR=1.678, 95% CI 1.263-2.230) were influencing factors of 24h-urinary microalbumin; age (OR=1.998, 95% CI 1.325-3.013), blood pressure (OR=3.202, 95% CI 1.319-7.773) and severe OSAHS (OR=5.462, 95% CI 1.103-27.041) were influencing factors of Cyst C.OSAHS is a risk factor for early renal damage in patients with hypertension. Age, BMI, blood pressure and severe OSAHS may be influencing factors for renal function in hypertensive patients with OSAHS.

A non-invariant plane model for the austenite-martensitic (A-M) interface in CuAlNi single crystal shape memory alloys (SMAs) is proposed in this paper. The model is based on the crystallography of martensitic transformation and the recent uniaxial tensile Moiretests on Cu-14%Al-4.12%Ni (wt%) single crystals. The two types of specimens used have the same tensile axis orientation but have different transition temperatures. One exhibits Shape Memory Effect (SME) and the other exhibits Superelasticity (SE). In the case of SME, the plane invariant nature of the A-M interface is well verified by the Moiretest. On the contrary, the A-M interface in the case of SE was identified to be a non-invariant plane. A crystallography- based model is proposed to explain the formation of this non-plane-invariant A-M interface in SE and is used to predict the resultant interface structure and the transformation strain of the stress-induced b1!b 9 transformation in CuAlNi. There are a number of detection techniques for the detection of explosives, 14N nuclear quadrupole resonance (NQR) is a very promising technique owing to its unambiguous detection and identification of explosives. with this unique advantage, NQR technique gets more and more attentions around the world. Almost all of the explosives contain nitrogen element, the 14N nucleus is a non-spherically symmetric nucleus and has a quadrupole moment, the same 14N nuclei in different substances have different NQR frequencies, therefore, each substance is characterized by its own NQR frequency. So far, there have been more than 30 NQR probe nuclei, more than 10 thousands of substances have been investigated by the NQR technique and no identical NQR frequencies have been found. China Institute of Atomic Energy (CIAE) has investigated the concealed explosives detection by NQR for many years, this paper introduces the principle of 14N NQR detection, the structure of NQR detection system, and the application of NQR for the detection of explosives, mainly reviews the research activities of NQR at CIAE.Copyright © 2013 by ASME

Monoclonal antibodies against colon and pancreatic cancer, CL-2, CL-3, PS-9, PS-10, were used to detect the associated antigens in feces of patients with gastrointestinal carcinoma and non-cancer diseases. Binding inhibition test by SABC-ELISA method were performed for the measurement of the antigen level. Results showed that the associated antigen detected in feces of patients with colon cancer were significantly higher than that of noncancer disease or normal subjects. The positive rates were 61.1% as detected with CL-2; 53.4% with CL-3; 55.0%, PS-9; and 53.3% PS-10 in cancer patients while that in normal subjects were 7%; 9%; 8%; and 8% respectively. When ‘cocktail’ of CL-2, PS-9 and PS-10 were used, the positive rates were 92.5% in colon cancer and 14% in normal subjects. In seven out of the sixty patients with colon cancer studied who were graded as Dukes A, the results were all positive. The results seem superior to the serologic detection and may provide a promising new approach in the early diagnosis of colon cancer.

Computer has been becoming the tools of medical works. IT becomes more and more critical for hospital staffs. But the development between IT system in hospital and increase of clinic medical practitioner is not equal. So, to enforce new ideas and collaboration between researchers and practitioners is very important at this stage. Therefore, we select procedure chain about a CAD patient to discuss how to adopt information technology to medical information system reform, integrate decentralized IT resources, improve the quality of medical services and to control to reduce the expense for patients. Based on our survey, We provide some views concerned about IT applying in medical procedures in China at present.

To find new pesticidal lead compounds with high bioactivity, 26 new pyrazines emicarbazide derivatives were designed and synthesized by combining with the pyrazine ring and semicarbazide. Their structures were confirmed by 1 H NMR, FTIR and MS techniques. The herbicidal activities of these compounds were evaluated. The bioassay results showed that the post-emergence inhibitory rate of 4m reached 80% on Amaranthus retroflexus and Eclipta prostrata at 150 gai/ha.
