Superposition of two independent orthogonally polarized beams is a conventional principle of creating a new light beam. Here, we intend to achieve the inverse process, namely, extracting inherent polarization modes from a single light beam. However, inherent polarization modes within a light beam are always entangled so that a stable polarization is maintained during propagation in free space. To overcome this limitation, we report an approach that breaks the modulation symmetry of a light beam, thereby disentangling the inherent polarization modes. Using polarization mode competition along with an optical pen, polarization modes are extracted at will in the focal region of an objective lens. This work demonstrates polarization mode extraction from a light beam, which will not only provide an entirely new principle of polarization modulation but also pave the way for multidimensional manipulation of light fields, thereby facilitating extensive developments in optics.

According to the recommendations of ISO4037-1:1996, we have established the filtered x-ray reference radiation of low air kerma rate series (10 reference radiations), narrow spectrum series (13 reference radiations ), wide spectrum series (7 reference radiations) and high air kerma rate series (8 reference radiations) in CIRP. The relevant calibration facilities, such as ISO water phantom, are also built for calibration practice. An Yxlon MG325 is used as x-ray generator. Totally 38 reference radiations are produced with tube voltage range from 15 kV to 300 kV. The characteristics, such as HVL (half value layer), for these reference radiations are investigated. They are well consistent with the recommendations of ISO and can be used for the calibration of dose & doserate meters for radiation protection purpose.

In the free-floating mode, dynamic coupling exists between the manipulators and the spacecraft base of space robot, and the base attitude and position are easily disturbed by the motions of the manipulators. In this paper, firstly, the angular momentum conservation equation is analyzed. Then, the objective function is defined according to the change of the base attitude. Finally, the joint path is parameterized by using a cosine function and the coefficients of the cosine function are set as optimization parameters. Considering the Standard Genetic Algorithm is easily premature and has slow convergent speed, Adaptive Genetic Algorithm is adopted in this paper to search the optimal parameters. Simulation results show that the obtained joint path is smooth, the angular velocity has no sudden change and the base disturbance meets the demand, which prove the effectiveness of this method.

The system of warning and response of nuclear and radiation incident is comprised of information acquirement and management, analysis and decision-making, and emergency response. The system is based on threat evaluation. The content and technology of the system is analyzed in the paper, in particular the importance of information flow, such as information collection, estimation, release and so on.

In order to simulate the high pressure environment in deep-sea, a set of tester which can simulate the deep-sea environment was designed. Based on the analysis of its control system, this paper proposed a closed-loop control strategy of pressure. Hardware circuit of the constant frequency variable speed control system was designed. Its main control circuit used Atema8L, a single-chip microcomputer, as the core. ECN30206 was used in the drive circuit as the core and Max7219 was used in the show circuit as the core. Then software was made. The various parts of the hardware circuit can be individually used to meet different needs. And they can also form a closed-loop control system. This system not only can improve the accuracy of pressure adjustment significantly, but also have energy-saving effect.
