Tricholoma lishanense is described and illustrated from northern China based on both morphological and molecular data. Phylogenetic analyses based on sequence data from the ITS locus resolved the new species in section Lasciva of Tricholoma. Tricholoma lishanense can be diagnosed by its overall white basidiomata with a fragrant and pleasant odor, very narrow lamellae, different phylogenetic position and habitat under oaks.

Currently reported adsorbents for wastewater purification generally have only limited adsorption capacity and low adsorption rate towards dye contaminants. In this work, KH570-modified magnetic hydrogel nanocomposites (KH570-mHNCs) with semi-IPNs structure were prepared based on poly (acrylamide-co-acrylic acid), polyvinyl pyrrolidone (PVP), and KH570-modified magnetic nanoparticles, and it exhibited high absorption capacity and absorption rate for methylene blue dye. KH570-mHNCs had a rough surface with many porous and gully structures, and FTIR results preliminarily confirmed the target structure of KH570-mHNCs. KH570-mHNCs could rapidly absorb methylene blue by approaching absorption equilibrium at 90 min. Dye absorption of KH570-mHNCs had maximum dye absorption capacity at pH = 8, and methylene blue adsorption capacity was 255.4 mg/g, 326.3 mg/g, and 418.5 mg/g in the condition of initial dye concentrations of 700 mg/L, 900 mg/L, and 1100 mg/L, respectively. Methylene blue adsorption isotherms and kinetics conformed to the Langmuir model and pseudo-second-order kinetic model, respectively. Methylene blue adsorption for KH570-mHNCs was a spontaneous, exothermal, and entropy reduction process. In addition, KH570-mHNCs had good magnetic response, desorption, and reusability, which made it a potential application in the field of methylene blue removal from the aqueous solution.

Background. Complex carcinogenic mechanisms and the existence of tumour heterogeneity in multiple myeloma (MM) prevent the most commonly used staging system from effectively interpreting the prognosis of patients. Since the microenvironment plays an important role in driving tumour development and MM occurs most often in middle-aged and elderly patients, we hypothesize that ageing of bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells (BM-MSCs) may be associated with the progression of MM. Methods. In this study, we collected the transcriptome data on MM from The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) and the Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) databases. Differentially expressed genes in both senescent MSCs and MM tumour cells were considered relevant damaged genes. GO and KEGG analyses were applied for functional evaluation. A PPI network was constructed to identify hub genes. Subsequently, we studied the damaged genes that affected the prognosis of MM. Least absolute shrinkage and selection operator (lasso) regression was used to identify the most important features, and a risk model was created. The reliability of the risk model was evaluated with the other 3 GEO validation cohorts. In addition, ROC analysis was used to evaluate the novel risk model. An analysis of immune checkpoint-related genes, tumour immune dysfunction and exclusion (TIDE), and immunophenotypic scoring (IPS) were performed to assess the immune status of risk groups. pRRophetic was utilized to predict the sensitivity to administration of chemotherapeutic agents. Results. We identified that MAPK, PI3K, and p53 signalling pathways were activated in both senescent MSCs and tumour cells, and we also located hub genes. In addition, we constructed a 14-gene prognostic risk model, which was analysed with the ROC and validated in different datasets. Further analysis revealed significant differences in predicted risk values across the International Staging System (ISS) stage, sex, and 1q21 copy number. A high-risk group with higher immunogenicity was predicted to have low proteasome inhibitor sensitivity and respond poorly to immunotherapy. Lipid metabolism pathways were found to be significantly different between high-risk and low-risk groups. A nomogram was created by combining clinical data, and the optimization model was further improved. Finally, real-time qPCR was used to validate two bortezomib-resistant myeloma cell lines, and the test confirmed that 10 genes were detected to be expressed in resistant cell lines with the same trend as in the high-risk cohort compared to nonresistant cells. Conclusion. Fourteen genes related to ageing in BM-MSCs were associated with the prognosis of MM, and by combining this genotypic information with clinical factors, a promising clinical prognostic model was established.

Two simple, sensitive, and low-cost fluorescence spectroscopy methods for neomycin (NEO) detection were developed. Both methods were based on the interaction between NEO and Congo red (CR) in acidic buffer medium to form an ion-association complex. The quenching effect of the formed ion-association complex on the fluorescence of CR at 421 nm is a basic principle of fluorescence analysis, whilst the resonance Rayleigh scattering (RRS) method was used to enhance the resonance Rayleigh scattering spectrum at 384 nm by adding NEO. Experimental conditions such as pH, temperature, reaction time, CR concentration, and the ionic strength of the two methods were investigated and optimized. In addition, the effect of common coexisting substances on the method was tested and the results showed good selectivity. The composition of ion-association complexes, the reaction mechanism, and reasons for the enhanced intensity of RRS are discussed. Under optimum conditions, the responses of the fluorescence spectrophotometry and RRS methods showed good linearity with NEO concentrations in the range 0.2-3.0 μg ml

Understanding the hydrolysis behavior and pathway of norfloxacin (NOR) in the hyporheic zone (HZ) is important for predicting its environmental persistence. Therefore, the effects of different environmental factors on NOR hydrolysis were investigated, and the hydrolysis pathway of NOR in the HZ was determined by DFT calculations and UPLC/TOF-MS. The hydrolysis process of NOR was consistent with the first-order kinetic. The experiment of environmental factors showed that DO was an important factor to affect NOR hydrolysis, and its hydrolysis rate was positively correlated with DO concentration. Organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs) have been widely used in various fields such as sensors. In this article, we designed six novel heterocyclic Ir(III) complexes: (CFM)2Ir(acac) (named 1 in this paper), (TTIQ)2Ir(acac) (named 2), (CFM)2Ir(tmd) (named 3), (TTIQ)2Ir(tmd) (named 4), (CFM)2Ir(pic) (named 5) and (TTIQ)2Ir(pic) (named 6). The six iridium (III) complexes were calculated using Density Functional Theory (DFT) and Time-Dependent Density Functional Theory (TD-DFT). We studied the bands of the lowest-lying absorptions and lowest energy emissions of complexes 1–6. In addition, we also explored their spectral properties, frontier Molecular Orbital theory(FMO) and spin-orbital coupling value(SOC). Where acac is represented as pentane-2, 4-dione; tmd as 2,2,6,6-tetramethylheptane-3,5-dione; pic as pyridine-2-carboxylate; TTIQ as 1-{thieno[3,2-b]thiophen-2-yl}isoquinoline; CFM as 2-(4-fluorobrobenyl)-4-methylpyridine. A series of heteroleptic cyclometalated Ir (III) complexes, which are used for OLED application, were investigated by DFT and TD-DFT method. The frontier molecular orbital character and charge transfer character shown that they have the advantages of low efficiency roll-off properties, which is a ‘stumbling block’ in the process of OLED solid-lighting’s development. Namely, means the materials will play an important role in the journey development of OLED.

(Fig. 2) MycoBank:—MB847576 Diagnosis:—differing from the phylogenetically and morphologically closest related species T. album by its abundant clamp connections, very narrow lamellae, pileus margin straight and seldom wavy in old fruit bodies. Etymology:—‘ lishanense ’, refers to the type locality, where the type specimen was collected. Holotype:— CHINA. Shanxi Province, Jincheng City, Qinshui County, Lishan Mt., 1680 m elev., 24 August 2020, on the ground under Quercus sp., N. Mao MNM 059 (BJTC FM1023). Description:— Basidiomata medium-sized, firm, fleshy. Pileus 30–90 mm, surface smooth, hemispherical or bellshaped with slightly inwardly rolled margin at first, then expanding with maturity to almost flat, whitish (#ffffff) to pale yellow (#f4f1e6), often with ochre-yellow (#c9a06f) centre when mature, glabrous, dry and dull, non-striate. Lamellae 1 mm broad, adnate, medium spaced to rather crowded, whitish (#ffffff) to cream (#f7f3e7), often lemon yellow (#ffff88) to pale yellow brown (#ddad79) spotted when bruised; lamellulae attenuate, arranged in 2–3 tiers. Stipe central, stuffed, 30–80 × 5–13 mm, cylindrical, mostly widened at base, more rarely tapering, smooth, whitish (#ffffff) to cream (#f7f3e7), turning pale yellow brown (#ddad79) when bruised. Context white, turning yellow when exposed. Odor faint but fragrant and pleasant. Taste not recorded. Spore print white. Basidiospores [120/7/7] (3.9–)4.6–7.1(–7.6) × (2.6–)2.8–4.4(–4.6) μm, [Q = 1.35–1.92, Q av = 1.6 ± 0.14], ellipsoidoblong, colorless and smooth, with one large guttule and an oblique hilar appendage. Basidia 19–37 × 3.5–6.5 μm, swollen at the apical end and tapered toward the middle or base, mostly 4-spored, occasionally 2-spored, clavate to sub-cylindrical, with sterigmata up to 4.5 μm long. Cheilocystidia and pleurocystidia absent. Hymenophoral trama parallel, composed of cylindrical hyphae 5.5–10.5 μm broad. Pileipellis a cutis of cylindrical hyphae, hyphae smooth, 3.5–8.5 μm broad, radially arranged to slightly interwoven, colorless in KOH. Allium tianmuense Z.H. Chen & Y.L. Xu, sp. nov. (Figs. 1‒3) Type: CHINA. Zhejiang Province, Linan County, Tianmu mountians, Dajingwu, under the deciduous broad-leaved forests, 30°23’1.39’’N, 119°26’31.64’’E, elevation 1156 m, 21 October 2022, Yue-Liang Xu and Chun-Mei Pang, Xu2813 (holotype: ZM barcode ZMNH0068011, Fig. 5). Description: Herbs perennial, with onion-like odor. Bulbs clustered, ovoid, 1‒2 cm in diam.; tunic white, sometimes tinged with purple brown, membranous, entire. Leaves linear, shorter than scape, 10‒25 cm × 3‒9.5 mm, flat, fistulose, clearly 1-keeled abaxially, appearing in autumn (Oct.-Nov.), withered in spring (May). Scape lateral, 15‒40 cm × 0.8‒2.0 mm, terete, solid, covered with leaf sheaths only at base; Spathe 2‒3-valved, membranous, persistent; Umbel nearly hemispheric, laxly flowered, bearing bulblets and flowers or bulblets only; pedicels subequal, 1‒2 cm long, 2.5‒ 4 × as long as perianth, bracteolate. Perianth pale purple; segments with green midvein, free at base; inner segments slightly longer and wider than outer ones, ovate-oblong, obtuse or rounded at apex, 5‒6 × 3‒4 mm; outer ones oblongelliptic, clearly boat-shaped, obtuse or rounded at apex, 4‒5 × 2‒3 mm. Filaments subequal, 7‒9 mm long, slightly broadened at base, entire, connate at base and adnate to perianth segments; anthers oblong, reddish brown, rounded at the apex. Ovary trivalved, obovoid-globose, smooth, greenish, base constricted into a short stipe 0.5‒1 mm long, with concave nectaries covered by hoodlike projections at base; ovules two per locule. Style simple, 5‒6 mm long, exserted; stigma entire. Capsule obovoid, 5‒7 × 6‒9 mm. Seeds dark brown, subovoid-flattened, 3‒4 × 4‒5 mm, testa with densely cellular periclinal walls. Distribution and habitat: The new species is only known from Tianmu Mountian of Linan County, northwestern Zhejiang (Fig. 6). It grows under the deciduous broad-leaved forests at the elevation of 1000‒1500 m. Phenology: Flowering from September to October, fruiting from October to November. Etymology: The specific epithet ‘ tianmuense ’ refers to the type locality of the new species. Similar species: The new species is closely related to A. thunbergii and A. chinense. It is mainly distinguished from them by its flat leaves, 3‒9.5 mm wide, withered in spring and umbel bearing bulblets. In this research, xylene was utilized as a simulated gas, γ-Al2O3 pellets were selected as catalyst carriers, and FeOx, MnOx, CeOx, and CuOx were used as active components to analyze the synergistic treatment of VOCs-O3 by low-temperature plasma combined with supported catalysts. Different metal oxides and other factors influence the synergistic treatment of VOCs-O3. The results showed that the catalytic effect of Fe-Mn/γ-Al2O3 prepared by the equivalent volumes of consecutive impregnation method was better than that of Fe-Mn/γ-Al2O3 prepared by co-impregnation method. When combined with low temperature plasma technology, high-energy electron collision reaction and oxidation reaction between free radicals occurs, which played a synergistic role in the degradation of VOCs-O3. The total removal rate of xylene was 94.88%, and the depletion rate of ozone was 84.1%.

One of the fundamental questions in astronomy is how planetary systems form and evolve. Measuring the planetary occurrence and architecture as a function of time directly addresses this question. In the fourth paper of the Planets Across Space and Time (PAST) series, we investigate the occurrence and architecture of Kepler planetary systems as a function of kinematic age by using the LAMOST-Gaia-Kepler sample. To isolate the age effect, other stellar properties (e.g., metallicity) have been controlled. We found the following results. (1) The fraction of stars with Kepler-like planets (FKep) is about 50% for all stars; no significant trend is found between FKep and age. (2) The average planet multiplicity (Np) exhibits a decreasing trend ( ∼2σ significance) with age, which decreases from Np ~ 2.6–2.7 for stars younger than 1 Gyr to Np ∼ 1.8–2.0 for stars older than 8 Gyrs. (3) The number of planets per star (η=FKep ×Np) shows a more pronounced decreasing trend (∼3σ significance), which decreases from η ∼ 1.4–1.5 for young stars to η ∼ 0.9–1.0 for old stars. (4) The median mutual orbital inclination of the planets (σi,k) increases from 2.2 to 3.9 as stars aging, and both the Solar System and the Kepler planetary systems fit such a trend. The nearly independence of FKep ∼ 50% on age implies that planet formation is robust and stable across the Galaxy history. The age dependence of Np and σi,k demonstrates that planetary architecture is evolving, and planetary systems generally become dynamically hotter with fewer planets as they age.

Over 5,000 exoplanets have been identified and thousands of candidates are to be confirmed. What are the differences between planetary systems in different Galactic environments, and how do they evolve with time? To address these questions, we conduct a research project, dubbed Planets Across Space and Time (PAST). Here we present some first results of PAST series. We revisit the kinematic method for classification of Galactic components and extend the applicable range from ∼ 100 pc to ∼ 1, 500 pc from the sun in order to cover most known planet hosts. Furthermore, we revisit the Age-Velocity dispersion Relation (AVR), which allows us to derive kinematic age with a typical uncertainty of 10-20% for an ensemble of stars. Applying the above revised methods, we present catalogs of kinematic properties as well as other basic stellar parameters for 2174 host stars of 2872 planets and 35,835 Kepler stars. Both PCAT19 and miR-25-3p have been reported in lung cancer studies, but whether there is a correlation between the two and whether they jointly regulate the progress of lung cancer have not been reported yet. Therefore, this study carried out a further in-depth research. The expression of PCAT19 was detected in lung cancer (LC) tissues and cells by quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction (qRT-PCR). The effect of PCAT19 on tumor growth was detected in a tumor-bearing model of nude mice. PCAT19-transfected cells were treated with Honokiol and anisomycin. The effects of PCAT19 on proliferation, apoptosis, and cycle of LC cells were investigated by biomolecule experiments. The effects of PCAT19 on the expressions of mitogen-activated protein kinase- (MAPK-) related proteins were evaluated by western blotting. The expression of PCAT19 was decreased in LC tissues and related to patient survival, tumor size, and pathology. In addition, upregulation of PCAT19 hindered LC cell proliferation, miR-25-3p expression, and the activation of extracellular regulated protein kinases (ERK) 1/2, p38, and c-Jun N-terminal kinase (JNK), while facilitating LC cell apoptosis. Furthermore, upregulation of PCAT19 reversed the effects of Honokiol and anisomycin on promoting cell proliferation and inhibiting cell apoptosis. Collectively, our findings show that upregulated PCAT19 suppresses proliferation yet promotes the apoptosis of LC cells through modulating the miR-25-3p/MAP2K4 signaling axis.

To set the sleeping mode for the Yutu-2 rover, a visual pose prediction algorithm including terrain reconstruction and pose estimation was first studied. The terrain reconstruction precision is affected by using only the stereo navigation camera (Navcam) images and the rotation angles of the mast. However, the hazard camera (Hazcam) pose is fixed, and an image network was constructed by linking all of the Navcam and Hazcam stereoimages. Then, the Navcam pose was refined based on a multiview block bundle adjustment. The experimental results show that the mean absolute errors of the check points in the proposed algorithm were 10.4 mm over the range of $\boldsymbol{L}$ from 2.0 to 6.1 m, and the proposed algorithm achieved good prediction results for the rover pose (the average differences of the values of the pitch angle and the roll angle were −0.19 degrees and 0.29 degrees, respectively). Under the support of the proposed algorithm, engineers have completed the remote setting of the sleeping mode for Yutu-2 successfully in the Chang’e-4 mission operations.

Starch, as a typical polysaccharide with natural spherical morphology, is not only a preferred precursor for preparing carbon materials but also a model polymer for investigating thermochemical evolution mechanisms. However, starch usually suffers from severe foaming and low carbon yield during direct pyrolysis. Herein, we report a simple and eco-friendly dry strategy, by maleic anhydride initiating the esterification of starch, to design carbon microspheres against the starch foaming. Moreover, the influence of ester grafting on the pyrolytic behavior of starch is also focused. The formation of ester groups in precursor guarantees the structural stability of starch-based intermediate because it can promote the accumulation of unsaturated species and accelerate the water elimination during pyrolysis. Meanwhile, the esterification and dehydration reactions greatly deplete the primary hydroxyl groups in the starch molecules and thus the rapid levoglucosan release is inhibited, which well keeps the spherical morphology of starch and ensures the high carbon yield. In further exploration as anode materials for Lithium-ion batteries, the obtained carbon microspheres exhibit good cyclability and rate performance with a reversible capacity of 444 mAh g−1 at 50 mA g−1. This work provides theoretical fundamentals for the controllable thermal transformation of biomass towards wide applications.

BACKGROUND: Both portal vein embolization (PVE) and associating liver partition and portal vein ligation for staged hepatectomy (ALPPS) have merits and demerits when used in patients with unresectable liver cancers due to insufficient volumes in future liver remnant (FLR). METHODS: This study was a single-center, prospective randomized comparative study. Patients with the diagnosis of hepatitis B related hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) were randomly assigned in a 1:1 ratio to the 2 groups. The primary endpoints were tumor resection and three-year overall survival (OS) rates. RESULTS: Between November 2014 to June 2016, 76 patients with unresectable HBV-related HCC due to inadequate volume of FLR were randomly assigned to ALPPS groups (n=38) and TACE + PVE groups (n=38). The quadrilateral plate (QP) is an essential structure of the inner wall of the acetabulum, an important weight-bearing joint of the human body, which is often involved in acetabular fractures. The operative exposure, reduction and fixation of QP fractures have always been the difficulties in orthopedics due to the special morphological structure and anatomical features of the QP. Fortunately, there have been many effective methods and instruments developed for QP exposure, reduction and fixation by virtue of the combined efforts of numerous orthopedists. At the same time, each method presents with its own advantages and disadvantages, resulting in different prognoses. It is necessary to have a thorough understanding of the anatomy, radiology and fixation techniques of the QP in terms of patient prognosis optimization. In this paper, the anatomical features, definition and classification of QP, operative approach selection, implant internal fixation methods and efficacy were reviewed.

Polymorphism of the TNF-α promoter region is considered to influence its transcription and be a risk factor for tumorigenesis. In the current study, we evaluated the role of TNF-α promoter region polymorphisms in susceptibility to cervical intraepithelial neoplasia (CIN) and cervical cancer (CC).Methods: A total of 2732 subjects, including 1173 healthy controls, 579 patients with CIN and 980 patients with CC in a Chinese Han population, were selected for the current study. Five SNPs in the TNF-α promoter, rs1799964 (− 1031 C>T), rs1800630 (− 863 A>C), rs1799724 (− 857 C>T), rs1800629 (− 308 A>G) and rs361525 (− 238 A>G), were selected and genotyped using TaqMan Assays. The association of these SNPs with CIN and cervical cancer was evaluated among healthy controls, CIN and CC patients.Results: The frequency distribution of rs1800629 and rs361525 alleles was significantly different between the CC group and the control group (P=0.009 and P=0.002). The rs1800629 A allele was found to be a protective factor for CC (OR=0.72; 95% CI=0.56– 0.92). The rs361525 A allele was found to be a risk factor for CC (OR=1.69; 95% CI=1.21– 2.38). After pathological subtyping of CC, the allele distribution of rs1800629 and rs361525 were both significantly different between the cervical squamous cell carcinoma and control groups (P=0.002 and P< 0.001). The rs1800629 A allele was protective factor for cervical squamous cell carcinoma (OR=0.66; 95% CI=0.50– 0.86). The rs361525 A allele was a risk factor for cervical squamous cell carcinoma (OR=1.87; 95% CI=1.32– 2.65). Moreover, the genotypic frequency of rs361525 was significantly different between cervical cancer stage I and stage II (P=0.003).Conclusion: The rs1800629 and rs361525 in the TNF-α promoter are associated with susceptibility to CC in the Chinese Han population.Keywords: cervical intraepithelial neoplasia, CIN, cervical cancer, CC, promoter, single-nucleotide polymorphism, SNP, tumour necrosis factor-α, TNF-&#x03B1

Three RF switches and a phase shifter are proposed using the conductive bridging random access memory (CBRAM) technique. The fabrication process is developed with the Nafion membrane on a high-resistivity silicon substrate. The equivalent circuit model is established for each memristive RF switch. The proposed switches and the phase shifter have been validated by the good agreement achieved among the simulated, measured, and modeled results. The experimental results show that the series planar switch has the ON-state insertion loss (IL) below 1.69 dB and the OFF-state isolation over 25 dB up to 10 GHz, with the actuation voltages of 6.1~7.8/-1.5~-2 V. The parallel metal-insulator-metal (MIM) switch has the small ON-state IL below 0.45 dB and the OFF-state isolation over 18.4 dB when biased with 0.8~3.7/-0.5~-0.9 V. The series MIM switch has the ON-state IL below 0.61 dB and the OFF-state isolation over 21.9 dB with 0.7~2.3/-0.5~-0.9 V. The series MIM switch shows a good comprehensive performance of low actuation voltage, good uniformity, low IL, moderate isolation, and independent control. The phase shifter is realized with four series MIM switches, which provides a phase shift of 45° ± 5° from 3.8 to 4.3 GHz with the in-band IL of 2.25 dB. Compared with the conventional RF switchable devices, the proposed devices have the advantages of nonvolatility and low power consumption. Without depending on the electron beam lithography process and high-temperature phase change, the proposed technique is promising for reconfigurable RF circuits with mass production and feasibility to various substrates.

BACKGROUND Children with neurodevelopmental disorders have a high risk of sleep disturbances, with insomnia being the most common sleep disorder (i.e., chronic and frequent difficulties with going and staying asleep). Insomnia adversely affects the well-being of these children and their caregivers. Pediatric sleep experts recommend behavioral interventions as the first-line treatment option for children. Better Nights, Better Days for Children with Neurodevelopmental Disorders (BNBD-NDD) is a five-session eHealth behavioural intervention delivered to parents to improve outcomes (e.g., Pediatric Quality of Life Inventory) for their children (4-12 years) with insomnia and who have a diagnosis of mild-to-moderate attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder, autism spectrum disorder, cerebral palsy, and/or fetal alcohol spectrum disorder. If effective, BNBD-NDD can be a scalable intervention that provides value to an underserved population. OBJECTIVE This protocol outlines an economic evaluation conducted alongside the BNBD-NDD randomized controlled trial (RCT) that aims to assess its costs and effectiveness compared to usual care. METHODS The BNBD-NDD RCT evaluates the impacts of the intervention on children’s sleep and quality of life, as well as parent daytime functioning and psychosocial health. Parent participants were randomized to the BNBD-NDD treatment or to usual care. The economic evaluation assesses outcomes at baseline and 8 months later, which include the Pediatric Quality of Life Inventory (PedsQL) as the primary measure. Quality of life outcomes facilitates the comparison of competing interventions across different populations and medical conditions. Cost items include the BNBD-NDD intervention and parent-reported utilization of private and publicly funded resources for their children’s insomnia. The economic evaluation involves a reference-case cost-effectiveness analysis to examine the incremental cost of BNBD-NDD per unit(s) gain in the PedsQL from the family payer perspective and a cost-consequence analysis from a societal perspective. These analyses will be conducted over an 8-month time horizon. RESULTS The BNBD-NDD RCT data collection commenced in June 2019 and ended in April 2022. The RCT data are currently being analyzed, and data relevant to the economic analysis will be analyzed concurrently. CONCLUSIONS To our knowledge, this will be the first economic evaluation of an eHealth intervention for insomnia in children with neurodevelopmental disorders. This evaluation's findings can inform users and stakeholders regarding the costs and benefits of BNBD-NDD. CLINICALTRIAL ClinicalTrial.gov ID NCT02694003

Background: late-onset capsule block syndrome (CBS) was a rare complication of cataract surgery and its pathogenesis was unclear. Case presentation: An analysis of a 64-year-old female with late-onset CBS was performed retrospectively. The depth of the anterior chamber (ACD), the distance between the face of the retro-implanted intraocular lens (IOL) and the posterior capsule (DRP), the best-corrected visual acuity (BCVA), and the visual quality (VQ) were all measured both before and after surgery. Using a flow cytometer multiple array assay device, we assessed the levels of inflammatory cytokines in the opaque substances (OS) that were trapped between the posterior capsule and the retro-IOL surface and compared them to those in aqueous humor. The patient who underwent surgery experienced a considerable improvement in BCVA and VQ. DRP was on the verge of disappearing. However, ACD did not differ between pre-and post-operatively. Interleukin-8 (IL-8) and basic fibroblast growth factor (BFGF) concentrations were higher in the OS than in aqueous humor, especially in the former. Vascular cell adhesion molecule (VCAM) concentration in the OS, however, was lower than in aqueous humor. Conclusions: Surgery was a successful treatment for a challenging late-onset CBS. A fresh, isolated microenvironment developed between the posterior capsule and the retro-IOL face. In the human lens, inflammatory cytokines from the OS might contribute to abnormal metabolism in the sealed area as a result of late-onset CBS.

The recent discovered kagome superconductors provide a good platform for studying intertwined orders and novel states such as topology, superconductor, charge density wave, et al. The interplay of these orders may spontaneously break the rotational symmetry, and induce exotic phenomena such as nematicity, or even nematic superconductor. Here we report a two-fold rotational symmetric superconductivity of thin-film RbV3Sb5 in response to a direction-dependent in-plane magnetic fields, in contrast to the six-fold structural symmetry of the crystal lattice. The two-fold symmetry was evidenced by the magnetoresistance transport experiments, critical magnetic field measurements and the anisotropic superconducting gap. With different configuration, we further observed the six-fold symmetry superimposed on the two-fold symmetry near the boundary between normal states and superconducting states. Our results present the correlation-driven symmetry breaking and highlight the promising platform to study the intertwined orders such as unconventional superconductivity in this correlated kagome family.

With the development of the multi-media internet, visual characteristics have become an important factor affecting user interests. Thus, incorporating visual features is a promising direction for further performance improvements in click-through rate (CTR) prediction. However, we found that simply injecting the image embeddings trained with established pre-training methods only has marginal improvements. We attribute the failure to two reasons: First, The pre-training methods are designed for well-defined computer vision tasks concentrating on semantic features, and they cannot learn personalized interest in recommendations. Secondly, pre-trained image embeddings only containing semantic information have little information gain, considering we already have semantic features such as categories and item titles as inputs in the CTR prediction task. We argue that a pre-training method tailored for recommendation is necessary for further improvements. To this end, we propose a recommendation-aware image pre-training method that can learn visual features from user click histories. Specifically, we propose a user interest reconstruction module to mine visual features related to user interests from behavior histories. We further propose a contrastive training method to avoid collapsing of embedding vectors. We conduct extensive experiments to verify that our method can learn users' visual interests, and our method achieves $0.46\%$ improvement in offline AUC and $0.88\%$ improvement in Taobao online GMV with p-value$

Aiding humans with scientific designs is one of the most exciting of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML), due to their potential for the discovery of new drugs, design of new materials and chemical compounds, etc. However, scientific design typically requires complex domain knowledge that is not familiar to AI researchers. Further, scientific studies involve professional skills to perform experiments and evaluations. These obstacles prevent AI researchers from developing specialized methods for scientific designs. To take a step towards easy-to-understand and reproducible research of scientific design, we propose a benchmark for the inverse design of nanophotonic devices, which can be verified computationally and accurately. Specifically, we implemented three different nanophotonic design problems, namely a radiative cooler, a selective emitter for thermophotovoltaics, and structural color filters, all of which are different in design parameter spaces, complexity, and design targets. The benchmark environments are implemented with an open-source simulator. We further implemented 10 different inverse design algorithms and compared them in a reproducible and fair framework. The results revealed the strengths and weaknesses of existing methods, which shed light on several future directions for developing more efficient inverse design algorithms.
