The combined effect of stress and seepage is an important reason of engineering geological problems such as landslides, dam failures, and tunnel collapse. However, due to the limitations of the test apparatus, the existing studies rarely consider the stress effect in the seepage process. In this study, a soil column apparatus based on the wetting front advancing method was developed to explore the permeability properties of intensely weathered sandstone in a wide range of suction (10∼106 kPa). The results suggest that the wetting front advancing velocity decreased as the vertical stress increased during infiltration, which indicates that the stress changes the infiltration channel and affects the infiltration rate. On the other hand, due to the water sensitivity of intensely weathered sandstone, the soil column deformation before and after wetting is significantly different, indicating that water infiltration further exacerbates the deformation. When vertical stress is applied to the soil column, the permeability coefficient–suction curves at different sections are paralleled in general, which is affected by the variation in dry density and the non-uniform distribution of stresses inside the soil column. Moreover, as the initial dry density increases, the influence of the vertical stress on the permeability coefficient gradually decreases.

However, the pathogenesis of AM is not clearly understood. We aimed to investigate the pathophysiological changes and molecular mechanism in AM.Methods: Single-cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-seq) was employed to construct a transcriptomic atlas of various cell subsets from the ectopic endometrium (EC) and eutopic endometrium (EM) of one AM patient and evaluate differential expression. The Cell Ranger software pipeline (version 4.0.0) was applied to conduct sample demultiplexing, barcode processing and mapping reads to the reference genome (human GRCh38). Different cell types were classified with markers with the “FindAllMarkers” function, and differential gene expression analysis was performed with Seurat software in R. The findings were confirmed by Reverse Transcription Real-Time PCR using samples from three AM patients.Results: We identified nine cell types: endothelial cells, epithelial cells, myoepithelial cells, smooth muscle cells, fibroblasts, lymphocytes, mast cells, macrophages and unknown cells. A number of differentially expressed genes, including CLO4A1, MMP1, TPM2 and CXCL8, were identified from all cell types. Functional enrichment showed that aberrant gene expression in fibroblasts and immune cells was related to fibrosis-associated terms, such as extracellular matrix dysregulation, focal adhesion and the PI3K-Akt signaling pathway. We also identified fibroblast subtypes and determined a potential developmental trajectory related to AM. In addition, we identified increased cell–cell communication patterns in EC, highlighting the imbalanced microenvironment in AM progression.Conclusion: Our results support the theory of endometrial–myometrial interface disruption for AM, and repeated tissue injury and repair could lead to increased fibrosis in the endometrium. Therefore, the present study reveals the association between fibrosis, the microenvironment, and AM pathogenesis. A peanut harvest separation and conveying device was designed considering the shortage of peanut harvest machinery and poor harvesting effect in China. The interaction between mechanism and pod-soil mixture was analysed to obtain the motion state of peanut relative separation conveyor. ADAMS simulation was applied to obtain the spatial curve of peanut trajectory in the separation process. The study determined that the optimum operating parameters of the separation conveyor were a drum speed of 280 r/min and an inclination angle of 19°. This study provides a theoretical basis for the further design of efficient peanut harvesting device.

This paper constructed a new model by integrating the product design factors into the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM), which aimed to investigate the relationship between the design elements of the household blood glucose meter and the use intention of the elderly users. 184 valid samples were collected and the software of SPSS 23.0 and SPSSAU online were used to test the model and hypotheses. The results are shown as below: (1) Older people's perceived usefulness (PU) and perceived ease of use (PEOU) toward household blood glucose meter has a significantly positive effect on their use intention (UT); Older people's perceived ease of use (PEOU) toward household blood glucose meter has a significantly positive effect on their perceived usefulness(PU); (2) The functional design(FD) factors of household blood glucose meter has a significant positive effect both on older people's perceived usefulness(PU) and on their perceived ease of use (PEOU), and it also has a positive effect on older people’s use intention (UT) directly; The appearance design (AD) factors of household blood glucose meter has a significant positive effect both on older people's perceived ease of use (PEOU) and on their perceived usefulness (PU); And the interaction design (ID) factors of household blood glucose meter has a weakly negative effect on older people's perceived ease of use (PEOU) and has a weakly positive effect on their perceived usefulness (PU); (3) The past-experience (UX) of older people has no moderating effect between use perception and use intention (UT) of household blood glucose meter. Finally, some reasonable suggestions are given from product design based on the quantitative analysis to make the design of the home blood glucose meter more consistent with the cognition of the elderly users, so as to improve the interest of blood sugar self monitoring in elderly diabetes group, shape their healthy living and lifestyle.

In traditional multi-modal sentiment analysis, feature fusion is usually achieved by simple splicing, and multi-modal sentiment analysis is only trained as a single task, without considering the contribution of inter-modal information interaction to sentiment analysis and the correlation and constraint relationship between multi-modal and single-modal (text, video and audio) tasks. Therefore, a multi-task model based on interactive attention mechanism is proposed in this paper, which uses inter-modal attention mechanism and single-modal self-attention mechanism to train multi-modal sentiment analysis and single-modal sentiment analysis together, so as to make full use of inter-modal and inter-task information sharing, mutual complement, and reduce noise to improve the overall recognition performance. Experiments show that the proposed model performs well on MOSI and MOSEI common data sets for multimodal sentiment analysis.

TLR5 agonist flagellin is an effective mucosal adjuvant via intranasal administration. Previous studies demonstrated that the mucosal adjuvanticity of flagellin depends on TLR5 signaling of airway epithelial cells. Since dendritic cells play a central role in antigen sensitization and the initiation of primary immune responses, we wondered how dendritic cells were modulated by the intranasally administrated flagellin. In this study, a mouse model of intranasal immunization with ovalbumin, a model antigen, in the presence or absence of flagellin was utilized. We found that nasal administration of flagellin enhanced the coadministered antigen-specific antibody responses and T-cell clonal expansion in a TLR5-dependent manner. However, neither the entering of flagellin to nasal lamina propria nor the uptake of coadministered antigen by nasal resident dendritic cells was associated with TLR5 signaling. In contrast, migration of antigen-loaded dendritic cells from the nasal cavity to the cervical lymph nodes and activation of dendritic cells in the cervical lymph nodes were both enhanced through TLR5 signaling. Furthermore, for the dendritic cells, flagellin enhanced the expression of CCR7, which was pivotal for dendritic cells in the priming site migrating to draining lymph nodes. Interestingly, the migration, activation, and chemokine receptor expression levels of antigen-loaded dendritic cells were all significantly higher than that of bystander dendritic cells. In conclusion, intranasally administrated flagellin enhanced TLR5-dependent antigen-loaded dendritic cells’ migration and activation but not antigen uptake.

As previous research points to the importance of studying a specific ethnic group due to within group differences among the Latinx community, this research focused on Mexican Americans’ mental health disparities by examining mental health and attitudes toward seeking counseling in relation to relevant cultural factors, such as cultural values, generational status, and social class. Based on a sample of 350 Mexican American college students, the findings revealed that better mental health was related to lower adherence of the familism value, higher adherence of the respect value, and higher subjective social class. Moreover, more positive attitudes toward seeking counseling was related to lower adherence to familism and traditional gender role cultural values. Lastly, our findings did not support the moderation hypothesis by generational status. Mental health professionals need to consider that multidimensional cultural aspects operate differently by hindering or enhancing help-seeking attitudes and mental health.

The purpose of this cross-sectional study was to explore factors that influence intentions to adopt healthy dietary behaviors among university students. Five hundred twenty-five university students participated in this study. A questionnaire that included items on intention to adopt healthy eating behaviors, exposure to nutrition, media, parental and peer modeling, barriers, attitudes, self-efficacy, and outcome expectations was administered via Qualtrics. The findings of this study underscore influences of media, self-efficacy, and modeling on healthy eating behaviors among university students. The findings also emphasize the role of nutrition exposure in influencing self-efficacy and attitudes toward intentions to healthy eating behaviors.

Objective. To evaluate whether traditional Chinese medicine compound preparations (TCMCPs) are associated with rheumatoid arthritis- (RA-) related complications (including readmission, Sjogren’s syndrome, surgical treatment, and all-cause death) in patients with RA. Methods. Clinical outcome data were retrospectively collected from patients with RA discharged from the Department of Rheumatology and Immunology of the First Affiliated Hospital of Anhui University of Chinese Medicine from January 2009 to June 2021. The propensity score matching method was used to match baseline data. Multivariate analysis was conducted to analyze sex, age, the incidence of hypertension, diabetes, and hyperlipidemia and identify the risk of readmission, Sjogren’s syndrome, surgical treatment, and all-cause death. Users of TCMCP and nonusers of TCMCP were defined as the TCMCP and non-TCMCP groups, respectively. Results. A total of 11,074 patients with RA were included in the study. The median follow-up time was 54.85 months. After propensity score matching, the baseline data of TCMCP users corresponded with those of non-TCMCP users, with 3517 cases in each group. Retrospective analysis revealed that TCMCP significantly reduced clinical, immune, and inflammatory indices in patients with RA, and these indices were highly correlated. Notably, the composite endpoint prognosis for treatment failure in TCMCP users was better than that in non-TCMCP users ( HR = 0.75 (0.71-0.80)). The risk of RA-related complications in TCMCP users with high-exposure intensity ( HR = 0.669 (0.650-0.751)) and medium-exposure intensity ( HR = 0.796 (0.691-0.918)) was significantly lower than those in non-TCMCP users. An increase in exposure intensity was associated with a concomitant decrease in the risk of RA-related complications. Conclusion. The use of TCMCPs, as well as long-term exposure to TCMCPs, may lower RA-related complications, including readmission, Sjogren’s syndrome, surgical treatment, and all-cause death, in patients with RA.

In cold rolling of silicon steel strip, edge drop directly affects the side cutting and yield of silicon steel. To improve the edge drop of silicon steel in the cold rolling process, a multi-stand coordinated control strategy and model based on multi-objective optimization are proposed. The first step is to analyze the influence of each control stand work roll shifting (WRS) on edge drop through the finite element model (FEM), then determine the edge drop control effectiveness of each work roll shifting actuator. Meanwhile, a fitting model is proposed to solve the limitation caused by the discrete change of efficiency factors in solving the optimal adjustments of each WRS. On this basis, the target model for silicon steel edge drop control is formulated, and the optimal adjustment model of WRS of each stand is established. To realize the optimal coordinated control among the rolling mill stands, a multi-objective optimal model of edge drop control has been established by the overall modeling method. The improved penalty function algorithm is developed to calculate the optimal adjustment of WRS for each stand. The experiments and application show that the proposed multi-objective optimal control strategy and model can effectively improve the accuracy of edge drop control in silicon steel continuous cold rolling.

Although many studies have elucidated the mechanisms by which different wavelengths of light (blue, red, far-red, or ultraviolet-B [UV-B]) regulate plant development, whether and how green light regulates plant development remains largely unknown. Previous studies reported that green light participates in regulating growth and development in land plants, but these studies have reported conflicting results, likely due to technical problems. For example, commercial green light-emitting diode light sources emit a little blue or red light. Here, using a pure green light source, we determined that unlike blue, red, far-red, or UV-B light, which inhibits hypocotyl elongation, green light promotes hypocotyl elongation in Arabidopsis thaliana and several other plants during the first 2–3 d after planting. Phytochromes, cryptochromes, and other known photoreceptors do not mediate green-light-promoted hypocotyl elongation, but the brassinosteroid (BR) signaling pathway is involved in this process. Green light promotes the DNA binding activity of BRI1-EMS-SUPPRESSOR 1 (BES1), a master transcription factor of the BR pathway, thus regulating gene transcription to promote hypocotyl elongation. Our results indicate that pure green light promotes elongation via BR signaling and acts as a shade signal to enable plants to adapt their development to a green-light-dominant environment under a canopy.
