Abstract

This study explores the generation of the observed baryon asymmetry of the Universe within the complex Two Higgs Doublet Model (C2HDM) while considering theoretical and current experimental constraints. In our investigation, we analyze critical elements of the Higgs potential to understand the phase transition pattern. Specifically, we examine the formation of the barrier and the uplifting of the true vacuum state, which play crucial roles in facilitating a strong first-order phase transition. Furthermore, we explore the potential gravitational wave signals associated with this phase transition pattern and investigate the parameter space points that can be probed with LISA. Finally, we compare the impact of different approaches to describing the bubble profile on the calculation of the baryon asymmetry. We contrast the typically used kink profile approximation against the explicit solution of the tunneling profile. We find that a non-negligible range of the C2HDM parameter space results in significant discrepancies in the baryon asymmetry estimation between these two approaches. 2. Measuring Higgs Boson Self-couplings with $2\rightarrow 3$ VBS Processes

Abstract

We study the measurement of Higgs boson self-couplings through $2\rightarrow 3$ vector boson scattering (VBS) processes in the framework of Standard Model effective field theory (SMEFT) at both proton and lepton colliders. The SMEFT contribution to the amplitude of the $2\to3$ VBS processes, taking $W_L W_L\rightarrow W_L W_L h$ and $W_L W_L\rightarrow h h h$ as examples, exhibits enhancement with the energy $\frac{\mathcal{A}^{\text{BSM}}}{\mathcal{A}^{\text{SM}}} \sim \frac{E^2}{\Lambda^2}$, which indicates the sensitivity of these processes to the related dimension-six operators in SMEFT. Simulation of the full processes at both hadron and lepton colliders with a variety of collision energies are performed to estimate the allowed region on $c_6$ and $c_{\Phi_1}$. Especially we find that, with the help of exclusively choosing longitudinal polarizations in the final states and suitable $p_T$ cuts, $WWh$ process is as important as the more widely studied triple Higgs production ($hhh$) in the measurement of Higgs self-couplings. Our analysis indicates that these processes can play important roles in the measurement of Higgs self-couplings at future 100 TeV pp colliders and muon colliders. 3. Exploring the low $\tan��$ region of two Higgs doublet models at the LHC

Abstract

Current interpretations of the LHC results on two Higgs doublet models (2HDM) underestimate the sensitivity due to neglecting higher order effects. In this work, we revisit the impact of these effects using the current cross-section times branching ratio limits of the $A\to hZ, H \to VV$ and $H\to hh$ channels. With a degenerate heavy Higgs mass $m_��$, we find that the LHC searches gain sensitivity to the small $\tan��$ region after including loop corrections, even close to $\cos(��-��)=0$ which is not reachable at tree level for all types of 2HDM. Abstract

We study the Electroweak symmetry breaking mechanism with extra Electroweak symmetry breaking contributions (eEWSB) that are bounded by the Fermi constant and limits from the related collider searches. The eEWSB is helpful to build a different zero temperature vacuum structure from the Standard Model (SM), and therefore leads to different Electroweak phase transition patterns at the early Universe. We investigate the collider search prospects and gravitational waves (GW) predictions from the strongly firstly order phase transition (SFOEWPT) in this scenario. Abstract

Radish is a common crop and vulnerable to high temperature. Pretreatment with spermidine could effectively elevate the resistance of radish to high temperature. Up to date, the underlying mechanisms remain unknown. In the present study, radish seedlings were pretreated with spermidine and then exposed to high temperature. The leaves were collected for transcriptome sequencing and the results were compared with samples only exposed to high temperature and samples consistently cultured at normal temperature. The differentially expressed genes were identified and validated using real-time quantitative PCR. Finally, the results revealed that pretreatment with spermidine significantly up-regulated the transcription level of anti-oxidation enzymes, heat-shock proteins, and proteins involved in the photosynthetic process, in comparison with treatments with high temperature and room temperature, suggesting that pretreatment with spermidine increased heat tolerance in radish probably through minimizing the harms caused by peroxidation, accelerating the corrections or degradation of misfolded proteins, and promoting photosynthesis. These findings preliminarily uncovered the molecular mechanisms underlying the spermidine-promoted heat resistance in radish.

6. Searching for the $W ��$ decay of a charged Higgs boson

Abstract

We study the prospects for charged Higgs boson searches in the $W ��$ decay channel. This loop-induced decay channel can be important if the charged Higgs is fermiophobic, particularly when its mass is below the $WZ$ threshold. We identify useful kinematic observables and evaluate the future Large Hadron Collider sensitivity to this channel using the custodial-fiveplet charged Higgs in the Georgi-Machacek model as a fermiophobic benchmark. We show that the LHC with 300~fb$^{-1}$ of data at 14~TeV will be able to exclude charged Higgs masses below about 130~GeV for almost any value of the SU(2)$_L$-triplet vacuum expectation value in the model, and masses up to 200~GeV and beyond when the triplet vacuum expectation value is very small. 7. Search for CP violation effects in the $h\to ����$ decay with $e^+e^-$ colliders

Abstract

A new method is proposed to reconstruct the neutrinos in the $e^+e^-\to Zh$ process followed by the $h\to����$ decay. With the help of a refined Higgs momentum reconstruction from the recoiling system and the impact parameters, high precision in the determination of the momentum of neutrinos can be achieved. The prospect of measuring the Higgs CP mixing angle with the $h\to����$ decay at future $e^+e^-$ colliders is studied with the new method. The analysis is based on a detailed detector simulation of the signal and backgrounds. The fully reconstructed neutrinos and also other visible products from the tau decay are used to build matrix element (ME) based CP observables. With 5 $ab^{-1}$ of data at $E_{\text{CM}}=250$ GeV, a precision of $2.9^\circ$ can be achieved for the CP mixing angle with three main one-prong decay modes of the taus. Abstract

A new method used to calculate the neutrino for all major tau hadronic decay event by event at the LHC is presented. It is possible because nowadays better detector description is available. With the neutrino fully reconstructed, matrix element for each event can be calculated, the mass of the Higgs particle can also be calculated event by event with high precision. Based on these, the prospect of measuring the Higgs CP mixing angle with $h\to����$ decays at the LHC is analyzed. It is predicted that, with a detailed detector simulation, with 3 ab$^{-1}$ of data at $\sqrt{s}=13$ TeV, a significant improvement of the measurement of the CP mixing angle to a precision of $5.2^\circ$ can be achieved at the LHC, which outperforms the sensitivity from lepton EDM searches up to date in the $h����$ coupling., 8 figures, 1 table; v2: more refs, adds more discussions, matches to the published version

Abstract

The wind waves generated by cold waves are some of the most dangerous waves in Bohai Bay. In this paper records of the wind waves under the influence of cold waves in November, 1968, are discussed. It is shown that the north wind is very strong in spring and winter. The frequency spectrum of the development and decline of wind waves depends mainly on the wind speed. The change of shape and scale parameters of the spectrum are discussed and the calculation equations are shown.

Abstract

The precise measurement of physics observables and the test of their consistency within the standard model (SM) are an invaluable approach, complemented by direct searches for new particles, to determine the existence of physics beyond the standard model (BSM). Studies of massive electroweak gauge bosons (W and Z bosons) are a promising target for indirect BSM searches, since the interactions of photons and gluons are strongly constrained by the unbroken gauge symmetries. They can be divided into two categories: (a) Fermion scattering processes mediated by s- or t-channel W/Z bosons, also known as electroweak precision measurements; and (b) multi-boson processes, which include production of two or more vector bosons in fermion-antifermion annihilation, as well as vector boson scattering (VBS) processes. The latter categories can test modifications of gauge-boson self-interactions, and the sensitivity is typically improved with increased collision energy. This report evaluates the achievable precision of a range of future experiments, which depend on the statistics of the collected data sample, the experimental and theoretical systematic uncertainties, and their correlations. In addition it presents a combined interpretation of these results, together with similar studies in the Higgs and top sector, in the Standard Model effective field theory (SMEFT) framework. The International Linear Collider (ILC) is on the table now as a new global energy-frontier accelerator laboratory taking data in the 2030s. The ILC addresses key questions for our current understanding of particle physics. It is based on a proven accelerator technology. Its experiments will challenge the Standard Model of particle physics and will provide a new window to look beyond it. Abstract

Constraining the Higgs boson properties is a cornerstone of the LHC program and future colliders. In this Snowmass contribution, we study the potential to directly probe the Higgs-top CP-structure via the $t\bar{t}h$ production at the HL-LHC, 100 TeV FCC and muon colliders. We find the limits on the CP phase ($\alpha$) at 95% CL are $|\alpha| \lesssim 36^\circ$ with dileptonic $t\bar t (h\to b\bar b) $ and $|\alpha| \lesssim 25^\circ$ with combined $t\bar t (h\to \gamma\gamma) $ at the HL-LHC. The 100 TeV FCC brings a significant improvement in sensitivity with $|\alpha| \lesssim 3^\circ$ for the dileptonic $t\bar t (h\to b\bar b) $, due to the remarkable gain in the signal cross-section and the increased luminosity. At future muon colliders, we find that the bounds with semileptonic $t\bar t (h\to b\bar b) \nu\bar\nu$ are $|\alpha| \lesssim 9^\circ$ for 10 TeV and $|\alpha| \lesssim 3^\circ$ for 30 TeV, respectively., Comment: 12 pages, 8 figures, contribution to Snowmass 2021

Abstract

This is the Snowmass2021 Energy Frontier (EF) Beyond the Standard Model (BSM) report. It combines the EF topical group reports of EF08 (Model-specific explorations), EF09 (More general explorations), and EF10 (Dark Matter at Colliders). The report includes a general introduction to BSM motivations and the comparative prospects for proposed future experiments for a broad range of potential BSM models and signatures, including compositeness, SUSY, leptoquarks, more general new bosons and fermions, long-lived particles, dark matter, charged-lepton flavor violation, and anomaly detection., Comment: 108 pages + 38 pages references and appendix, 37 figures, Report of the Topical Group on Beyond the Standard Model Physics at Energy Frontier for Snowmass 2021.
