Objective: Because of changes in health care, there is a greater focus on brief medication management visits as the primary method of providing psychiatric care in community mental health settings. Research on the first-person perspectives of service users and prescribers in these settings is limited. The objective of this study was to describe firstperson perspectives on medication management visits and the service user–prescriber relationship. Methods: Researchers conducted qualitative interviews as part of a larger comparative effectiveness trial at 15 community mental health centers, researchers interviewed service users (N=44) and prescribers (N=25) about their perspectives on the typical elements of a medication management visit and asked service users about their relationship with their prescriber. Results: Both service users and prescribers described medication management visits as very brief encounters focused on medication and symptoms. Most service users reflected on the service user–prescriber relationship in positive or neutral terms; they did not describe the development of a strong therapeutic relationship or a meaningful clinical encounter with prescribing clinicians. Conclusions: Service users described the service user– prescriber relationship and medication management visit as largely transactional. Despite the transactional nature of these encounters, most service users described relationships with prescribing clinicians in positive or neutral terms. Their satisfaction with the visit did not necessarily mean that they were receiving high-quality care. Satisfactionmay instead suggest service users’ disengagement from care. They may need more support to fully participate in their own care.

The Boiler Green Initiative (BGI) is a student-run organization working to improve environmental sustainability at the Purdue University West Lafayette campus. A main goal of BGI's is to install a green roof on an existing building on campus that is being replaced. We discuss the benefits of green roofs, the feasibility of having one installed on the Armory's roof and the various monitoring options we have researched. Flat roofs are especially amenable to the green roof system, so a building with a flat roof or section of flat roof that is scheduled for repair is the ideal choice. The Armory will be having a 7392 sq. ft. area of the roof repaired in summer 2008. Our goal is to install a green roof system over the entire area. BGI, working with the physical facilities department, will monitor temperature on and just below the roof and water quality and flow to determine the green roof's performance. Due to the inaccessibility of the roof, data from monitoring equipment must be obtained remotely and will be posted and stored on the club's website (www.boilergreen.com).

Shallow-water habitats (eelgrass and unvegetated substrate) in two Barnegat Bay marinas and adjacent control areas were quantitively (sic) sampled from September 1988 through October 1989. During this period 554 samples were collected and over 2200 fish and 8100 decapod crustaceans representing 28 and 13 species respectively were identified. The fauna at all sampling sites were dominated by juvenile fishes that use the estuary as a nursery and juveniles of resident decapod crustaceans. The most obvious sources of variation were seasonal patterns of abundance and habitat specific patterns in species composition, especially for eelgrass (Zostera marina) sites irrespectiveof location or marina effects. Winter flounder (Pseudopleuronectes americanus) and the blue crab (Callinectes sapidus) were chosen for particular attention because of their ecological and economic importancein Barnegat Bay. Both species occurred in Viking Village marina and control sites, but winter flounder never occurred at the Long Quay marina on the western shore of Barnegat Bay. Location had a pronounced effect on the fauna of Viking Village Marina, presumably reflecting itsproximity to Barnegat Inlet. In this preliminary attempt we determined that the secondary impacts of marinas (i.e. resulting from marina operation and use) were not obvious.
