The monolithic integration of a tunable V-coupled-cavity laser based on half-wave multimode interference reflector (MIR-VCL) with a travelling-wave Mach-Zehnder modulator (TW-MZM) on generic InP foundry platform is present in this paper. The formation mechanism of pi-coupling-phase difference and the contradiction among loss, optimal coupling phase difference and optimal coupling coefficients of half-wave coupler are analyzed. Single electrode tuning of 11 channels of about 7.3nm wavelength range is obtained, which is determined by the cavity length and the 10% cavity length difference. Among the whole wavelength tuning range, the side mode suppression ratios (SMSRs) are all above 35dB and the typical one is about 42dB. The Mach-Zehnder modulator with optimized travelling wave electrode is integrated with the MIR-VCL by two two-ports MIRs, which could provide optical feedback for laser and CW light for MZM in the meantime. The monolithic integrated transmitter on generic InP platform is free of complicated fabrication process of grating structure and has good potential for cost effective applications.

In this paper, the distribution of 210Po after high temperature processes in six units of coal-fired power plants (CFPs) were evaluated. The coal, bottom ashes, fly ashes from electrostatic precipitators (ESP), and flue gases from stacks were sampled from four CFPs and analyzed for 210Po contents. The results showed that 210Po was mainly captured by the ESP, with little left in the bottom ash, and a small fraction of 210Po was directly discharged into the environment through the stacks, accounting for 0.06%-0.6%, which was consistent with the reported data. It was also found that part of the 210Po could not be accounted for in the mass balance analysis for the whole combustion process in CFPs, which was also in line with the reported data. The results obtained in this study provided essential basic data for environmental radiological risk analysis for CFPs.

The Jiashao Bridge is located in the strong tidal area of the Qiantang river estuary. A large-size steel cofferdam was constructed to form the pile caps of its main bridge. The cofferdam construction was affected by local scour due to the cofferdam-tide-sediment interaction. It is important to know exactly how deep the local scour will be during sinking of the cofferdam. To ensure the smooth construction of the cofferdam, a formula was employed to forecast the scour depth of the cofferdam, which was further applied to guide the construction. The scour depth was also measured during the construction process. According to the measured results, the local scour mechanism and the maximum local scour pit depth of the cofferdam were analyzed. These offer technical supports and references to related projects of large-size steel cofferdam construction in strong tidal areas.

Tunnel excavation design is an important content in the civil engineering, many researches are done based on the linear failure criterions by the analytical solution and numerical solution, but seldom researches are done to apply the nonlinear failure criterion in describing the surrounding rock mass after tunnel excavation, although nonlinear failure criterion shows great advantages over the linear failure criterion. Fortunately, Many scholars have done some work to study the rock mass characteristic based on the nonlinear failure criterion by the analytical solutions, but the analytical solutions can only be applied in analyzing the problem with simple geometry, simple boundary conditions. In order to explore a new way for geotechnical design, the numerical solution is proposed. And the numerical modeling method and simulation model is introduced, both the analytical method and numerical method are described based on the nonlinear failure criterion, then the stress and deformation of surrounding rock mass after tunnel excavation are analyzed whose results are compared to verify the numerical calculation method.
