Nowadays, online classrooms are growing in popularity. Especially given the Covid-19 outbreak in Indonesia, which has forced online learning. This study aims to investigate online learning in EFL learners’ writing classrooms. This study uses a qualitative method and a descriptive qualitative research design to examine in detail how teachers teach EFL learners in online writing. Researchers collected data through the technique of nonparticipant observation, and the researcher "observes from the sidelines" the action being observed. The results of this study reveal that the observed teacher's teaching method is not consistent with the four reference strategies employed by the researchers. The four strategies include; building knowledge of field, modeling of text, joint construction of text, and independent construction of text. Because, after being observed, the teacher employs only one strategy to teach writing, specifically building knowledge of field.

Salah satu permasalahan yang ada di desa Batokorogan, Kecamatan Kokop, ialah kurangnya kesadaran terhadap adanya potensi yang ada di sekitar mereka yang dapat digunakan sebagai sumber daya tambahan untuk meningkatkan ekonomi masyarakat yang tentu saja berguna bagi masyarakat desa Batokorgan. Salah satu program yang diterapkan di desa tersebut yakni bantuan mengajar, les privat, dan seminar pendidikan. Selain itu pengenalan produk pudot kelapa muda kepada pelajar dan remaja yang ada di desa untuk memanfaatkan sumber daya alam yang ada yakni kelapa muda. Tujuan diadakannya beberapa program tersebut adalah sebagai berikut:1) Untuk menciptakan kesadaran akan pentingnya pendidikan bagi generasi muda; 2) Mewujudkan Sumber Daya Manusia yang berkualitas, berkarakter, kreatif, inovatif dan mendorong semangat belajar untuk meraih prestasi; 3) Meningkatkan kesadaran memanfaatkan sumber daya alam yang ada. Hasil dari program tersebut adalah anak-anak desa, pelajar, dan masyarakat sangat antusias dalam mengikuti kegiatan yang diselenggarakan. Selain itu respon dan partisipasi remaja dalam belajar memanfaatkan sumber daya alam sebagai tambahan ekonomi sangat baik. Metode kegiatan program KKN-Tematik ini adalah seminar pendidikan, penyuluhan, les privat, dan pelatihan serta pengenalan produk pudot kepada remaja untuk menunjang ekonomi masyarakat desa Batokorogan. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan melalui izin kepala sekolah dan kepala desa. Beberapa hasil yang telah dicapai pada kegiatan ini diantaranya adalah pertama, banyak anak anak desa yang semakin semangat belajar dan memahami calistung dan bahasa inggris. Kedua, ibu dan lansia banyak yang mengetahui penyebab dan pencegahan diabetes setelah dilaksanakan penyuluhan dan pendampingan kesehatan bersama bidan desa Batokorogan. Selain itu, para siswa dan siswi termotivasi untuk melanjutkan pendidikan tinggi dan para remaja yang sangat senang juga tergerak untuk meningkatkan ekonomi desa dengan adanya pelatihan dan pengenalan produk pudot yang selama ini belum pernah ada.

Penderita Diabetes Melitus sangatlah beresiko mengalami luka _ontrol_ yang buruk. Gangguan finansial terjadi akibat biaya perawatan luka yang sangat mahal. Beban finansial membuat banyak penderita DM tidak merawat luka dengan baik sehingga jatuh kepada amputasi bahkan kematian. Program Kemitraan Masyarakat (PKM) dilakukan untuk mendorong kemandirian keluarga penderita DM, target PKM ini menciptakan Family Centred Care yang dimana dapat menghemat sampai dengan 75% pengeluaran biaya perawatan luka dan tentunya mencegah terjadinya amputasi. Keluarga Mitra diberikan pelatihan perawatan luka modern, selain itu keluarga mitra mendapatkan pendampingan selama program. Tim PKM melakukan kunjungan setiap minggu sebagai _ontrol dari perawatan luka. Hasil dari PKM selam selama 2 Bulan (April-Mei) yang melibatkan 10 orang mitra membuat Family Centred Care tercapai, mitra dapat menghemat finansial sampai 75%, pekembangan luka yang sangat baik. Untuk itu, tenaga kesehatan diharapkan dapat memberikan pelatihan dan pendampingan perawatan luka secara modern kepada keluarga penderita DM. Family Centred Care menjadi solusi terbaik mengatasi masalah finasial penderita DM

PurposeBased on the Job Demands-Resources (JD-R) theory, this study aims to identify person-contingent antecedents and consequences of proactive strength-oriented behaviors at work. Thus, the authors propose and test a model in which psychological capital (PsyCap), as a personal resource, represents a precursor of strengths use, which in turn is a facilitator of employees' self-rated performance.Design/methodology/approachThe authors tested the hypothesized mediation process through a cross-lagged study with three waves, using data collected from a sample of Romanian employees. The authors analyzed the data through structural equation modeling.FindingsThe results provided support for our model. The data showed significant, positive cross-lagged relationships between PsyCap, strengths use and performance across waves. Also, the authors identified a significant and positive indirect effect between PsyCap at T1 and performance at T3 through increased strengths use at T2.Originality/valueThis research brings new evidence for strengths use's placement as a proactive individual strategy within the JD-R theory. Practical implications are related to career self-management and work from home.

Kahoot! is a game-based learning platform used to review students’ knowledge, for formative assessment or as a break from traditional classroom activities. Play is a social-centred process, able to boost motivation and promote learning across all levels and ages. With the growing push for creativity in the classroom as well as the application of effective technology in teaching and learning. The key of teaching and learning process affects the students’ motivation as well as the learning goals. This study was carried out to describe an analysis of students’ motivation in learning process by using Kahoot! and to describe Kahoot! is effective to motivate students in learning writing process. This research used qualitative method with the observation and questionnaires as the instruments. It involved about three classes of the second grade students of SMPN 1 Sumber. The Sample was VIII A, VIII B, VIII H consist of 100 students. The data was analyzed descriptively. The findings showed that the result of ARCS (Attention, Relevance, Confidence, and Satisfaction) model of motivation defined the students motivated in learning process by using Kahoot! In addition, the result of the questionnaire Kahoot! was effetive to motivate student in learning writing process.

Due to the complexity of oil-in-water emulsions, the existing literature is still missing a mathematical tool that can describe membrane fouling in a fully quantitative manner on the basis of relevant fouling mechanisms.\ud \ud Hypothesis\ud In this work, a quantitative model that successfully describes cake layer formation and pore blocking is presented. We propose that the degree of pore blocking is determined by the membrane contact angle and the resulting surface coverage, while the cake layer is described by a mass balance and a cake erosion flux.\ud \ud Validation\ud The model is validated by comparison to experimental data from previous works (Dickhout et al. 2019; Virga et al., 2020) where membrane type, surfactant type and salinity were varied. Most input parameters could be directly taken from the experimental conditions, while four fitting parameters were required.\ud \ud Findings\ud The experimental data can be well described by the model which was developed to provide insight into the dominant fouling mechanisms. Moreover, where existing models usually assume that pore blocking precedes cake layer formation, here we find that cake layer formation can start and occur while the degree of pore blocking is still increasing, in line with the more dynamic nature of oil droplets filtration. These new conceptual advances in the field of colloid and interface science open up new pathways for membrane fouling understanding, prevention and control.

Mitochondria are dynamic organelles that undergo membrane remodeling events in response to metabolic alterations to generate an adequate mitochondrial network. Here, we investigated the function of mitochondrial fission regulator 1-like protein (MTFR1L), an uncharacterized protein that has been identified in phosphoproteomic screens as a potential AMP-activated protein kinase (AMPK) substrate. We showed that MTFR1L is an outer mitochondrial membrane–localized protein modulating mitochondrial morphology. Loss of MTFR1L led to mitochondrial elongation associated with increased mitochondrial fusion events and levels of the mitochondrial fusion protein, optic atrophy 1. Mechanistically, we show that MTFR1L is phosphorylated by AMPK, which thereby controls the function of MTFR1L in regulating mitochondrial morphology both in mammalian cell lines and in murine cortical neurons in vivo. Furthermore, we demonstrate that MTFR1L is required for stress-induced AMPK-dependent mitochondrial fragmentation. Together, these findings identify MTFR1L as a critical mitochondrial protein transducing AMPK-dependent metabolic changes through regulation of mitochondrial dynamics.

El presente artículo se desprende de un estudio llevado a cabo en el marco de un trabajo final de la Licenciatura en Comunicación Social, de la Facultad de Ciencias de la Comunicación, Universidad Nacional de Córdoba. El mismo tiene como objetivo profundizar en un debate que consideramos pertinente a la hora de abordar el nacimiento y trayectoria del colectivo Madres de Ituzaingó Anexo frente al conflicto socioambiental en el que se vieron involucradas. Este debate se corresponde con la relación que podríamos establecer entre las experiencias de este colectivo y las perspectivas impulsadas por trabajos y movimientos del feminismo ecológico. De esta manera, realizaremos un abordaje exploratorio de este caso a la luz de nociones elaboradas por la perspectiva ecofeminista y otras teorías que nos permitirán enriquecer el debate. Esto es, teniendo en cuenta aspectos de la construcción de una identidad colectiva, las prácticas sociales enmarcadas en un hábitat y la experiencia de mujeres que conformaron un colectivo y llevaron adelante una lucha por la vida, el ambiente y el territorio.

Motivation is an important factor in learning English. Students who have motivation will give more attention to learning. This research was to find out the students’ motivation toward reading skills. Data were obtained by questionnaire and test. The writer distributes the questionnaire to 60 students in the 10th grade of SMK NUSANTARA Beber-Cirebon. Instruments of validity and reliability are carried out by SPSS 25.0 for Windows. The writer made a hypothesis to answer the research problem. This research revealed that the tobservedis more than ttable (11.806> 2.00172).The probability value (p) is also less than 0.05 (p= 0.000 < 0.05). It can be proved with the result of the hypothesis testing, which is tobserved is more than ttable. The probability value (p) is also fewer than0.05 (p= 0.000 < 0.05). The finding of this research helps the English teacher of SMK NUSANTARA Beber-Cirebon to decide on the right teaching strategies to teach English. Therefore, it can maintain students’ motivation and improve students’ reading skills and achievement in learning English

This research aims for knowing the impact implementation of Lesson Plan of the teacher for the result of learning Agricultural Mechanization in SMK Kristen Tombatu. The research was conducted since February until April 2019. The subject of this research are the subject teacher of the Agricultural Mechanization and the students of ATPH department. The research variable that used is free variable, that is X and Y by using correlation and regression technique data analysis. The calculation result of regression analysis shows the impact between two variable (X and Y) be observed from Y = 0,79 + 0,08 X and correlation r = 0,91 show that Lesson Plan variable that used by the teacher with learning result has the positive impact. The result of learning that reached by the students can be seen from coefficient determination or r2 = 0,86 or 86 % that shows the result of learning is impacted by the Lesson Plan that used by teacher while its residual is determined by other factors that is not researched in this research.

Analysis of miR-214 and miR-148b sponge efficacy

miR-214 and miR-148b affect migration and invasion ability

miR-214 and miR-148b have been proposed to antagonize the effects of each other in enabling or blocking metastasis, respectively. In this study, we provide evidence deepening their role and interrelationship in the process of metastatic dissemination. Depleting miR-214 or elevating miR-148b blocked the dissemination of melanoma or breast cancer cells, an effect that could be accentuated by dual alteration. Mechanistic investigations indicated that dual alteration suppressed passage of malignant cells through the blood vessel endothelium by reducing expression of the cell adhesion molecules ITGA5 and ALCAM. Notably, transendothelial migration in vitro and extravasation in vivo impaired by singly alternating miR-214 or miR-148b could be overridden by overexpression of ITGA5 or ALCAM in the same tumor cells. In clinical specimens of primary breast cancer or metastatic melanoma, we found a positive correlation between miR-214 and ITGA5 or ALCAM along with an inverse correlation of miR-214 and miR-148b in the same specimens. Our findings define an antagonistic relationship of miR-214 and miR-148b in determining the dissemination of cancer cells via tumor–endothelial cell interactions, with possible implications for microRNA-mediated therapeutic interventions aimed at blocking cancer extravasation. Neuronal mitochondria play important roles beyond ATP generation, including Ca2+uptake, and therefore have instructive roles in synaptic function and neuronal response properties. Mitochondrial morphology differs significantly in the axon and dendrites of a given neuronal subtype, but in CA1 pyramidal neurons (PNs) of the hippocampus, mitochondria within the dendritic arbor also display a remarkable degree of subcellular, layer- specific compartmentalization. In the dendrites of these neurons, mitochondria morphology ranges from highly fused and elongated in the apical tuft, to more fragmented in the apical oblique and basal dendritic compartments, and thus occupy a smaller fraction of dendritic volume than in the apical tuft. However, the molecular mechanisms underlying this striking degree of subcellular compartmentalization of mitochondria morphology are unknown, precluding the assessment of its impact on neuronal function. Here, we demonstrate that this compartment-specific morphology of dendritic mitochondria requires activity-dependent, Camkk2- dependent activation of AMPK and its ability to phosphorylate two direct effectors: the pro-fission Drp1 receptor Mff and the recently identified anti-fusion, Opa1-inhibiting protein, Mtfr1l. Our study uncovers a new activity- dependent molecular mechanism underlying the extreme subcellular compartmentalization of mitochondrial morphology in dendrites of neuronsin vivothrough spatially precise regulation of mitochondria fission/fusion balance.

This paper proposes a theory that bridges classical analytical mechanics and nonequilibrium thermodynamics. Its intent is to derive the evolution equations of a system from a stationarity principle for a suitably augmented Lagrangian action. This aim is attained for homogeneous systems, described by a finite number of state variables depending on time only. In particular, it is shown that away from equilibrium free energy and entropy are independent constitutive functions.

Kriminalitas atau kejahatan itu bukan merupakan peristiwa herediter (bawaan sejak lahir, warisan) juga bukan merupakan warisan biologis.[1] Hal-hal yang mendorong seseorang untuk melakukan kejahatan, yaitu ketidakmampuan menyesuaikan diri secara ekonomis (maladjustment) dan ambisi-ambisi yang tidak sesuai dengan kemampuan atau bisa disebut diskrepansi. Masyarakat modern yang sangat kompleks menumbuhkan aspirasi-aspirasi meteriil yang tinggi dan seringkali di sertai ambisi-ambisi sosial yang tidak sehat. Misalnya ketika seseorang menginginkan barang-barang branded seperti artis ibu kota namun tidak mampu untuk mencapainya dengan jalan yang wajar, maka hal ini akan mendorong seseorang untuk melakukan tindakan kriminal. Tindakan kriminal adalah tindakan yang melanggar aturan hukum dan norma-norma dalam masyarakat. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif. Bogdan dan Taylor mendefinisikan penelitian kualitatif sebegai penelitian yang menghasilkan data deskriptif berupa kata-kata tertulis atau lisan dari orang-orang dan perilaku yang dapat diamati. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa intensitas menonton tayangan kriminal di media sosial siswa kelas VIII-B memiliki rasio atau tingkatan yang cukup tinggi. Berdasarkan penelitian bahwa setidaknya responden pernah menonton tayangan kriminal setidaknya satu kali dalam sehari, ketika satu kali sehari dilakukan secara terus menerus, berhari- hari maka intensitas akan berubah menjadi sering. Begitu pula keberminatan siswa terhadap pemakaian media sosial.

The horticultural sector is seeking innovative and sustainable agronomic practices which could lead to enhanced yield and product quality. Currently, plant biofortification is recognized as a valuable technique to improve microelement concentrations in plant tissues. Among trace elements, iodine (I) is an essential microelement for human nutrition. Concomitantly, the application of biostimulants may improve overall plant production and quality traits. With the above background in mind, an experiment was designed with the aim of assessing the interactive impact of a seaweed extract-based biostimulant (SwE) (0 mL L−1 (served as control) or 3 mL L−1 (optimal dosage)) and 0, 100, 300, or 600 mg L−1 I on the growth parameters, yield, fruit quality, minerals, and functional characteristics of the tunnel-grown “Savana” strawberry. SwE foliar application improved the plant growth-related traits, total and marketable yield, fruit color parameters, soluble solids content, nitrogen (N), potassium (K), and magnesium (Mg) fruit concentrations. Furthermore, an enhancement in the fruit dry matter content, ascorbic acid, and I concentration in fruits was detected when the SwE supply interacted with a mild I dose (100 or 300 mg L−1). The research underlined that combining SwE application and I biofortification increased the strawberry yield and quality and enhanced the plant nutritional status variation, thereby, determining a boosted strawberry I tolerance.

En el marco de una investigación más amplia, titulada La comunicación institucional en perspectiva de género. Estudios sobre la equidad en los ámbitos laborales, nos proponemos abordar la gestión estratégica en comunicación institucional articulando la perspectiva de género y la equidad como premisas transversales, apuntando a superar las posiciones de poder desiguales entre mujeres y hombres y de situaciones discriminatorias en el ámbito laboral. Particularmente en este escrito exponemos uno de nuestros recientes estudios realizados; se trata de una exploración acerca del modo en que tres consultoras argentinas de búsqueda de empleo publican sus ofertas laborales en sus páginas webs. La estrategia metodológica asumida estuvo centrada en aplicar la técnica de análisis de contenido en la construcción enunciativa de los avisos de ofrecimiento de puestos laborales. De esa manera, analizamos los modos en que se enuncian los mensajes en las convocatorias, los tipos de puestos laborales que se ofrecen, los géneros a los cuales se aspira contratar según el trabajo ofrecido y los requerimientos para su desempeño. A modo de conclusión observamos que en los discursos digitales que enuncian las consultoras analizadas, al ofrecer puestos laborales existen estereotipos de género que reproducen desigualdades sociales. Estas construcciones narrativas instauran inequidades desde las primeras etapas en el acceso a diferentes puestos laborales generando obstáculos que impiden el empoderamiento de las personas vulneradas.

PurposeBased on the Job Demands-Resources theory, this study investigates whether psychological capital (PsyCap) is a precursor of the one-directional work-to-home enrichment (WHE) process through a parallel mediation mechanism enabled by promotion-focused job crafting components.Design/methodology/approachA cross-sectional study was conducted on 231 Romanian employees. Data were analyzed using structural equation modeling (SEM).FindingsPsyCap (what I can do) is an antecedent of all three promotion-focused job crafting behaviors (what I actually do) and WHE. Two specific job crafting dimensions – increasing social job resources and increasing challenging job demands – fully mediate the link between PsyCap and WHE. Increasing structural job resources does not predict WHE.Originality/valueThis study identifies PsyCap as an antecedent of WHE. It also uncovers underlying behavioral mechanisms that enable the transfer of resources from the work role to individuals' home role by investigating job crafting components as distinct dimensions. As such, it gives practitioners a clearer understanding of which behaviors they should seek to cultivate for employees to potentiate their home role through aspects of their job.

Background Tumor progression is based on a close interaction between cancer cells and Tumor MicroEnvironment (TME). Here, we focus on the role that Cancer Associated Fibroblasts (CAFs), Mesenchymal Stem Cells (MSCs) and microRNAs (miRs) play in breast cancer and melanoma malignancy. Methods We used public databases to investigate miR-214 expression in the stroma compartment of primary human samples and evaluated tumor formation and dissemination following tumor cell injections in miR-214 overexpressing (miR-214over) and knock out (miR-214ko) mice. In addition, we dissected the impact of Conditioned Medium (CM) or Extracellular Vesicles (EVs) derived from miR-214-rich or depleted stroma cells on cell metastatic traits. Results We evidence that the expression of miR-214 in human cancer or metastasis samples mostly correlates with stroma components and, in particular, with CAFs and MSCs. We present data revealing that the injection of tumor cells in miR-214over mice leads to increased extravasation and metastasis formation. In line, treatment of cancer cells with CM or EVs derived from miR-214-enriched stroma cells potentiate cancer cell migration/invasion in vitro. Conversely, dissemination from tumors grown in miR-214ko mice is impaired and metastatic traits significantly decreased when CM or EVs from miR-214-depleted stroma cells are used to treat cells in culture. Instead, extravasation and metastasis formation are fully re-established when miR-214ko mice are pretreated with miR-214-rich EVs of stroma origin. Mechanistically, we also show that tumor cells are able to induce miR-214 production in stroma cells, following the activation of IL-6/STAT3 signaling, which is then released via EVs subsequently up-taken by cancer cells. Here, a miR-214-dependent pro-metastatic program becomes activated. Conclusions Our findings highlight the relevance of stroma-derived miR-214 and its release in EVs for tumor dissemination, which paves the way for miR-214-based therapeutic interventions targeting not only tumor cells but also the TME.

An elastic quartic twist theory has recently been proposed for chromonic liquid crystals, intended to overcome the paradoxical conclusions encountered by the classical Oseen-Frank theory when applied to droplets submerged in an isotropic fluid environment. However, available experimental data for chromonics confined to cylindrical cavities with degenerate planar anchoring on their lateral boundary can be explained equally well by both competing theories. This paper identifies a means to differentiate these theories both qualitatively and quantitatively. They are shown to predict quite different core defects for the twisted hedgehogs that chromonics generate when confined to a fixed spherical cavity with homeotropic anchoring. In the quartic twist theory, the defect core is estimated to be nearly one order of magnitude larger (tens of microns) than in the other and, correspondingly, the director field lines describe Archimedean spirals instead of logarithmic ones., Comment: arXiv admin note: text overlap with arXiv:2211.15820

Introduction The treatment of heavily calcified lesions is a challenge for the interventional cardiologist. The Excimer laser coronary atherectomy (ELCA) is a plaque modification tool and the main mechanism of action seems to be the photomechanical delivering acoustic pressure with a mechanical disruption of the plaque in front of the catheter tip. Objective To evaluate the effectiveness of the contrast-enhanced ELCA by a stepwise approach, with incremental frequency/fluency in the treatment of calcified lesions in different contexts. Methods We retrospectively enrolled consecutively all patients undergoing contrast-enhanced ELCA-assisted PCIs between 2018 and 2021 at the Cardiology Unit of “Umberto I” Hospital of Syracuse (Italy). The frequency/fluency ELCA profile used with a stepwise approach were 50/50, 60/60, 70/70 and 80/80. ELCA technical success was defined as the laser catheter crossing the entire length of the target lesion established by angiographic evidence of the catheter tip in the artery distal to the stenosis. Procedural success was defined as Results We enrolled 114 patients who underwent contrast-enhanced ELCA-assisted PCI. 58% of the patients had acute coronary syndrome and 42% had chronic coronary syndrome. The left anterior descending artery was the target vessel in 42.1% of cases, the right coronary artery in 26.3%, the circumflex in 10.5%, and the left main artery in 2.3%. The main indication for ELCA was intrastent restenosis (56.2%). The median stenosis was 90% (80% – 90%). The ELCA catheter tip was 0.9 mm and 1.4 mm was employed in the 89.5% and 10.5% of cases respectively. The most used frequency/fluency profile was 70/70 (39.5%) followed by 60/60 (31.6%), 50/50 (15.8%) and 80/80 (13.2%). Use of contrast-enhanced ELCA was associated with high technical success rate (97.4%), procedural success rate (93.7%), and clinical success rate (97.1%). Conclusions In Conclusion, the contrast-enhanced ELCA seems to be a safe and effective treatment for management of calcified lesions.
