In most systems the operation are carried manually by the operator in which the billing and change making is carried out by the \sowner who running the shop or restaurant. There are strict requirements for interactive gadgets used in public settings, including user-friendly interfaces. This model's vending machine is made using plywood, fevicol gum, a DC motor, and other materials. batteries, etc.

Soil salinity is a leading cause for yield losses in rice, affecting nearly 6% of global rice cultivable area. India is host to a rich diversity of coastal rice landraces that are naturally tolerant to salinity and an untapped source to identify novel determinants of salinity tolerance. In the present study, we have assessed the relative salinity tolerance of 43 previously genotyped rice landraces at seedling stage, using thirteen morpho-physiological and biochemical parameters using a hydroponics system. Among 43 rice varieties, 25 were tolerant, 15 were moderately tolerant, 1 was moderately susceptible and 2 sensitive checks were found to be highly susceptible based on standard salinity scoring methods. The wide anatomical distribution of macrophages and their vast array of functions match various polarization states and their involvement in homeostasis and disease. The confluence of different cellular signaling networks, including direct involvement in inflammation, at the doorstep of the transcription factor Nuclear Factor- erythroid (NF-E2) p45-related factor 2 (Nrf2) activation raises the importance of deciphering the molecular circuitry at the background of multiple-discrete and antagonistic yet flexible and contextual pathways. While we primarily focus on wound healing and repair mechanisms that are affected in diabetic foot ulcers (DFUs), we strive to explore the striking similarities and differences in molecular events including inflammation, angiogenesis, and fibrosis during tissue injury and wound persistence that accumulates pro-inflammatory senescent macrophages, as a means to identify possible targets or cellular mediators to lessen DFU disease burden. In addition, the role of iron in the modulation of Nrf2 response in macrophages is crucial and reviewed here. Targeted approaches, unlike conventional treatments, in DFU management will require the review and re-assessment of mediators with relevance to other pathological conditions.

In this work, co-doping effects of transition (Zn) and rare-earth (La) elements on the crystalline structure, surface morphology, photoluminescence, optical and photosensing properties of NiO thin films are studied. NiO, NiO:Zn(1%), NiO:La(1%), and NiO:Zn(1%):La(1%) thin films are fabricated using the nebulizer spray pyrolysis (NSP) method. X-ray diffraction study revealed the cubic NiO structure of all the films. Photoluminescence (PL) spectra of thin films exhibit various emission peaks centered at the wavelengths of 387, 414, 437, 451, 477, and 521 nm. The optical bandgap energy (Eg) values are found to be 3.46, 3.43, 3.39 and 3.33 eV for NiO, NiO:Zn(1%), NiO:La(1%) and NiO:Zn(1%):La(1%) thin films, respectively. The fabricated (Zn, La) co-doped NiO i.e., NiO:Zn(1%):La(1%) photo-detector exhibits highest responsivity (R), external quantum efficiency (EQE) and detectivity (D*) values of 0.50AW-1, 169% and 14.5 × 109 Jones, respectively as compared to NiO, NiO:Zn(1%) and NiO:La(1%) photo-detectors. The present study revealed that the transition and rare-earth elements co-doping can be an effective approach for tuning the various physical properties of semiconducting oxide films.

In this proposed study, erbium (Er3+)-doped ZnO nanocomposites were prepared through the effective, basic, and green combustion method. The significant effects of Er dopants on the structural, morphological features, dielectric, and optical behaviors of the pure ZnO matrix as well as Er2O3–ZnO nanostructured materials were investigated applying X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Fourier transformation infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopy, and UV–Vis spectrophotometer techniques. These results showed that the synthesized Er2O3–ZnO nanocomposites are well polycrystalline. The Er2O3–ZnO nanocomposites are almost uniformly distributed on the surface morphologies. Furthermore, UV–Vis diffuse reflectance spectroscopy, AC electrical conductivity, and dielectric properties’ current–voltage characteristics were utilized to examine the influence of erbium doping on the optical properties, energy bandgaps of the proposed Er2O3–ZnO nanostructured powder. The tested nano-samples were applied for the visible light photodegradation of p-chlorophenol(4-CP) and p-nitrophenol (4-NP). The Er-doped ZnO ratio affects the photocatalytic activity of the ZnO matrix. This current research substantiated that more than 99.5% of 4-CP and 4-NP were photodegraded through 30 min of irradiation. Four times, the Er:ZnO nanocatalysts were used and still displayed an efficiency of more than 96.5% for 4-CP and 4-NP degradations in the specified period of 30 min. The as-prepared Er2O3–ZnO nanostructures are considered novel potential candidates in broad nano-applications from visible photocatalytic degradation of waste pollutants to the electronic varistor devices.

A simple remote aliquoting system (RAS) and a remote titration setup were developed to aid the analyses of highly radioactive samples inside a hot cell. The remote calibration of the RAS by a titrimetric method was validated and the systematic error and random error of the RAS were less than 1%. A method was developed for the determination of free acidity of solutions containing uranyl nitrate and plutonium nitrate without complexing agents. In this method, the first total acid was determined by a remote alkalimetric titration using a visual indicator. The free acidity was calculated by detecting the contribution of hydrolysable ions from the total acid. BACKGROUND: Interpatient variability in cytochrome P450 2D6 (CYP2D6) enzyme activity alters the serum concentrations of most psychotropics, which often have narrow therapeutic indices. Therefore, preemptive knowledge of CYP2D6 activity is desired. However, accessible indicators for deficient CYP2D6 activity are necessary because genotyping all patients prescribed CYP2D6 metabolized drugs is often not feasible or cost-effective. METHODS: In this study, the predictive value of the ratio between a CYP2D6 substrate and its metabolite, known as the metabolic ratio (MR), the dose-corrected serum concentration of substrate (CDR), and the dose-corrected sum concentration of substrate and metabolite (Sum CDR) of venlafaxine, risperidone, aripiprazole, and nortriptyline were determined to predict the CYP2D6 poor metabolizer (PM) phenotype. The area-under-the-receiver operator characteristic curve, as well as the sensitivity, specificity, and positive and negative predictive values of the optimal thresholds, were calculated. RESULTS: Although the MR, CDR, and Sum CDR all predicted the CYP2D6 PM phenotype, the predictive value of the MR was most robust for venlafaxine and aripiprazole, and the Sum CDR was inferior for all 3 psychotropics. MRs of venlafaxine, risperidone, and aripiprazole, and CDR of nortriptyline showed an area-under-the-receiver operator characteristics (95% confidence interval) of 97.2% (94.7%-99.6%), 93.0% (88.8%-97.2%), 97.8% (95.4%-100.0%), and 85.6% (78.0%-93.1%), respectively. Thresholds of the log(MR) of ≥0.1 for venlafaxine, ≥0.0 for risperidone, and ≥1.5 for aripiprazole, and log(CDR) ≥0.5 for nortriptyline produced >92% sensitivity and >64% specificity. CONCLUSIONS: If therapeutic drug monitoring is available, the thresholds presented here could serve as a diagnostic tool for the CYP2D6 PM phenotype of psychiatric patients prescribed the aforementioned psychotropic medications.

We report the effect of Ti-doping on structural, morphological, photoluminescence, optical and photoconductive properties of ZnO thin films. Pure and Ti(1, 3 and 5%)-doped ZnO thin films are deposited by the successive ionic layer adsorption and reaction (SILAR) method. The X-ray diffraction analysis revealed the single-phase hexagonal wurtzite ZnO structure of all the films. Scanning electron microscope images suggest the formation of rod shaped particles in Ti-doped ZnO thin films. Photoluminescence spectra of all the films show emission peaks centered at 398 nm, 413 nm, 438 nm, 477 nm and 522 nm wavelengths. Optical properties support the semiconducting nature of all the films. The optical bandgap values are estimated to be 3.29 eV, 3.26 eV, 3.19 eV and 3.23 eV for ZnO, ZnO:Ti(1%), ZnO:Ti(3%) and ZnO:Ti(5%) thin films, respectively. Photoconductivity study indicates that ZnO:Ti(3%) thin film exhibits high responsivity, external quantum efficiency and detectivity of 0.30 AW-1, 97% and 5.49 × 1010 Jones, respectively, among all the films. The enhanced photoconductivity of Ti-doped ZnO thin films make them useful for optoelectronic applications.

Phytochemical evaluation of the alcoholic extract of Rubia cordifolia Linn. roots resulted in the identification of two anthraquinone compounds 1a (1,4-dihydroxyanthracene-9,10(4aH,9aH)-dione) and 1b (2-methylanthracene-9,10(4aH,9aH)-dione). The isolated compounds were characterized by spectroscopic methods and their structures were established. The derivatives were found to be nontoxic against Vero and HepG2 cells.

Objectives. To assess mean systolic and diastolic blood pressure (SBP and DBP) levels in patients ≥50 years with uncontrolled hypertension (HTN) and evaluate the correlation between BP and stroke risk. It also assessed therapeutic drug classes prescribed in these patients. Methods. A cross-sectional, observational study was conducted at 176 outpatient centers across India, including patients aged ≥50 years with elevated SBP (≥140 mmHg). The relationship between stroke risk, calculated using Stroke Riskometer™, and mean SBP, mean DBP, and other risk factors was evaluated using Pearson correlation coefficient and logistic regression analysis. Results. The study included 3791 patients (men, 60.0%; mean age: 62.1 ± 8.3 years; mean BMI: 27 kg/m2) with mean SBP 157.3 ± 12.8 mmHg and mean DBP 89.8 ± 9.7 mmHg . Five-year stroke risk in 33.9% and 10-year stroke risk in 70% patients were moderate to severe. A ~4% increase in both 5- and 10-year stroke risk with each 1 mmHg increase in mean SBP ( p < 0.0001 ) was seen. However, mean DBP did not exhibit any significant correlation with 5-year ( p = 0.242 ) or 10-year ( p = 0.8038 ) stroke risk. There was a positive correlation between mean SBP and patient age, comorbid diabetes, and smoking and alcohol habits ( p < 0.0001 ). Comorbid diabetes and smoking increased 5- and 10-year stroke risk by 2- to 5-fold. Irrespective of the risk category, most patients received antihypertensive therapy with an angiotensin receptor blocker. Conclusion. Findings corroborate an association between stroke risk and mean SBP. These real-world clinical findings indicate that efforts are required to improve primary prevention of stroke and reduce the prevalence of recurrent stroke in India.
