Background: In the Westernised world, numerous children are overweight and have problems with bullying and mental health. One of the underlying causes for all three is postulated to be a decrease in outdoor free play. The aim of the Sydney Playground Project is to demonstrate the effectiveness of two simple interventions aimed to increase children's physical activity and social skills. Methods/Design. This study protocol describes the design of a 3-year cluster randomised controlled trial (CRCT), in which schools are the clusters. The study consists of a 13-week intervention and 1 week each of pre-and post-testing. We are recruiting 12 schools (6 control; 6 intervention), with 18 randomly chosen participants aged 5 to 7 years in each school. The two intervention strategies are: (1) Child-based intervention: Unstructured materials with no obvious play value introduced to the playground; and (2) Adult-based intervention: Risk reframing sessions held with parents and teachers with the aim of exploring the benefits of allowing children to engage in activities with uncertain outcomes. The primary outcome of the study, physical activity as measured by accelerometer counts, is assessed at baseline and post-intervention. Additional assessments include social skills and interactions, self-concept, after school time use and anthropometric data. Qualitative data (i.e., transcriptions of audio recordings from the risk reframing sessions and of interviews with selected teacher and parent volunteers) are analysed to understand their perceptions of risk in play. The control schools have recess as usual. In addition to outcome evaluation, regular process evaluation sessions are held to monitor fidelity to the treatment. Discussion. These simple interventions, which could be adopted in every primary school, have the potential of initiating a self-sustaining cycle of prevention for childhood obesity, bullying and mental ill health. BEROE CUCUMIS FABRICIUS, 1780 The body shape is strait or slightly oval in the oral part and oval at the aboral side, and it is more flattened in the paragastral plane than B. pseudocucumis (Fig. 6C, D). The adult length varies from 50 to 150 mm. Its length to width ratio (l/w) ranges 1.6���2.2. This ratio is variable: we observed specimens, which were shorter and longer, wider or slenderer, but never less than for B. pseudocucumis. Juvenile individuals may be narrower in the oral part of the body. Similar individuals were illustrated by Mayer (1912). The meridional canals lie under eight rows of ciliary combs, which extend about three-quarters of the distance from the aboral pole towards the mouth or a bit longer, but not up to the mouth. Its meridional canals have numerous diverticulae, which may branch out in adult ctenophores, but do not anastomose with each other, and do not connect with paragastral canals. At the aboral end, two oval polar-plates (Fig. 6A) surround the sense organ at the oval aboral pole, and are fringed with a row of short, branched papillae. Macrociliaries have three-toothed macrociliary tips with a somewhat larger middle tooth (Tamm & Tamm, 1993). Geographical distribution: Beroe cucumis was previously believed to be a widespread species, continuously distributed from the Arctic to the Antarctic (Pages & Orejas, 1999), but according to our genetic and morphological studies, and by comparison of published data, this species has a bipolar distribution, inhabiting cold polar and temperate waters, while being absent from tropical and subtropical zones. Distribution in the Arctic: all Eurasian seas (Sirenko, 2001), including the Barents Sea (Manko et al., 2015; Bandara et al., 2016; this study), the White Sea (Kosobokova & Pertsova, 2018), the Kara Sea (Dvoretsky & Dvoretsky, 2017), the Laptev Sea (Abramova & Tuschling, 2005), the East-Siberian Sea and the Chukchi Sea (Ershova et al., 2015); Canada Basin (Raskoff et al., 2005; Purcell et al., 2010). Distribution in the Atlantic Ocean: individuals of Beroe cucumis were sampled from the North of Norway to the south-east of the North Sea and analysed genetically (this research). Also, B. cucumis is known to occur in the northern and north-eastern Atlantic (Fabricius, 1780; Van Soest, 1973; Granhag et al., 2012; Licandro et al., 2015; Knutsen et al., 2018), and along the eastern coasts of Canada and the USA (Mayer, 1912; Harbison et al., 1978). In the Mediterranean Sea, and the subtropical, tropical and equatorial regions of the Atlantic Ocean, it is replaced by B. pseudocucumis. Additional genetic studies are required to clarify the boundaries of the B. cucumis occurrence off the coast of South America, but presumably B. cucumis occurs also in the temperate and subpolar waters of the South Atlantic and Antarctic (Siegel & Harm, 1996; Mianzan 1999; Mianzan & Guererro, 2000; Pakhomov et al., 2000; Flores et al., 2010, 2011). There is evidence of B. cucumis occurring in the Benguela Current near South Africa (Gibbons et al., 1992). In the Pacific Ocean, Beroe cucumis occurs in cold waters: north-west Pacific (Kasuya et al., 2000; Napazakov & Chuchukalo 2011); north-east Pacific, eastern Bering Sea (Hoff et al., 2011); and the southeast Pacific off Chile (Pages & Orejas, 1999; Oliveira et al., 2016). It frequently occurs in southern Australia (Stiasny, 1931; Edgar, 1997; Gershwin et al., 2010) and in New Zealand waters (Ralph, 1950). Now that we have genetic confirmation of the presence of two species with a similar morphotype (Beroe cucumis and B. pseudocucumis), it is necessary to conduct a detailed analysis of the ecology and distribution of these two species. It is possible that there are areas of overlap in their habitat and geography. According to previous records, B. cucumis occurs in the areas between temperate and subtropical climatic zones, like the east coast of the USA (Mayer, 1912; Harbison et al., 1978), the west coast of the USA (Wrobel & Mills, 1998) and the Yellow and East China seas (Liu, 2013; Yin et al., 2017; Wang & Cheng, 2019). However, additional ecological and genetic studies of individuals in these areas are required to clarify the species identification and distribution. An erudite population fittingly accustomed with knowledge and skill is not only indispensable to support economic growth, but it is substantial for growth to be encyclical since it is educated and skilled manpower who stand to enjoy the fruits of employment opportunities which growth furnishes. The main objective of this study is to identify the impact of skill development initiatives on employability skills enhancement, various definitions of employability skills, and to offer insights into the Indian skill index. Through a qualitative study using Survey method and structured interview methods, this research throws a light on how skill development initiatives to aid in enhancing employability skills. In this paper, efforts were made to investigate if the skills enhancement training provided in Andhra Pradesh is able to serve its purpose in first place. Questionnaires Survey, Mean score comparison, are used to find out the impact of above said training programs on the enhancementof among Management Graduates in Andhra Pradesh. Improvements in imaging techniques, such as micro- and nano-computer tomography (CT) and focus ion beam scanning electron microscopy (FIB-SEM), have enabled the reconstruction of complex porous media that can then be analyzed by computer simulation to estimate effective transport properties, e.g., ref. [1, 2]. Experimental setups have also been developed to measure dry and partially-saturated gas diffusivity and permeability of gas diffusion layers (GDLs) and catalyst layer (CLs), e.g., ref. [3, 4]. Based on the available literature, a comparison between micro-scale simulation results and experimental data must be performed to assess the accuracy of direct numerical simulation CT image analysis for dry and partially-saturated transport property estimation. In the later case, the validity of computational methods to predict water intrusion, such as full morphology/morphological image opening [1] and watershed segmentation [5], should also be assessed by comparing mercury intrusion experiments to numerical predictions, and by direct comparison of numerical results to CT images. Finally, these transport properties should be integrated into complete fuel cell models where volume-averaging techniques are used to properly estimate channel-porous media interactions. Such interactions however are seldom studied in literature. The proposed contribution aims at first studying the validity of two popular methods for numerical estimation of effective transport properties from three-dimensional reconstructed porous media, i.e., direct numerical simulation (DNS) and pore network modeling (PNM). Two fuel cell gas diffusion media and an electrolyzer porous transport layer are analyzed by CT and characterized by measuring mercury intrusion porosimetry (MIP), and dry permeability and diffusivity. A comparison of numerical and experimental results shows that DNS tools in OpenFCST [6] are capable of accurately predicting intrusion, and transport properties without using any fitting parameters. Accurate predictions are also achieved with the PNM implementation in OpenPNM [7] when the inscribed diameter method is used to estimate the pore size distribution, and the equivalent diameter is used to estimate pore transport properties. These tools open an avenue for computational design of porous materials. Effective transport properties must be integrated into volume-averaged fuel cell models where porous media-channel interactions are of paramount importance. These interactions however, as well as the method used for volume averaging fuel cell equations, are seldom studied in detail. Therefore, the second contribution of the talk aims at analyzing channel-porous media interactions by developing a compressible volume-averaged channel-porous media model in OpenFCST, and validating it with respect to permeability and diffusion bridge experiments in the literature. Comparison of numerical and experimental results show that, depending on the volume-averaging methodology used, experimentally obtained transport properties do not correspond to the input parameters needed in volume-averaged models. Finally, the numerical model is used to estimate flow by-pass in serpentine and inter-digitated channels, as well as compressibility effects [8]. Amphinema cf. dinema (figs. 2 C, D) Material studied. Ormonde, stn 4: sparse polyps on cauli of some alga Zonaria tournefortii, DBUA 1521.01, Genbank accession no. KM 402032. Remarks. The sample material was not fertile preventing an accurate identification of this species. The most similar 16 S rRNA sequence in Genbank, in relation to the sequence determined for the present material, corresponds to a medusa collected in Plymouth, identified as Amphinema dinema (Genbank accession no. EU 999223.1; Licandro et al. 2010), different in a single nucleotide position. Without doubt these sequences correspond to the same species, the Gorringe hydroids (figs. 2 E, F) exhibit morphological differences in comparison to A. dinema hydroids reared under laboratory conditions (Rees & Russell 1937). Namely the tentacles of the present colonies are in higher number (ca. 12���17, instead of four to ten), proportionally smaller and thicker, and disperse along the distal third of polyps instead of in a single whorl.
