There are many process parameters like pressure, temperature, time, weighing error in maintaining the weight fraction, uniform distribution of resin, maintaining equal amount of resin between each layer, on the mechanical properties. Among all these, pressure, temperature and time are important parameters in compression moulding technique. So, this research work is focussed on to study the effect of process parameters like process temperature, pressure and time on tensile properties of a hybrid composite material. The hybrid composite material is being composed of Glass fibre, Epoxy LY556, liquid silicon rubber and nano powder of Aluminium/ Silica as a filler material to enhance the properties of fabricated hybrid composite material. This hybrid composite is fabricated by compression moulding technique by varying pressure, temperature and time. The effect of these parameters is optimised by using Taguchi Method for direct effect of factors. Regression model developed and is analysed by ANOVA. From the regression model it is found that pressure and temperature are the significant parameters where as time is not a significant factor. Again regression model is developed by neglecting time factor for the final run. The final regression model is validated by comparing the experimental value with predicted value. It is found that, there is a large difference between these two values. It may be the reason that, only direct effect of factors is considered rather than considering interaction between these factors. Also the result shows that, the tensile strength of a composite can be enhanced by adding the filler material.

In this work an attempt has been made to analyze experimentally the wear rate of polymer composite made up of glass fiber reinforced epoxy resin filled with aluminium powder. The wear behavior of the materials was described by experimentally obtaining the friction coefficients along with wear rates by using a pin-on-flat test apparatus for tribological applications. Firstly, the effects of operating variables such as load, speed were observed. The wear rate increased linearly as the load increased by keeping the speed constant and also the wear rate increased as the speed increased by keeping the load constant. Secondly, by the observations of the worn surfaces recorded by using microscope, basic wear mechanisms were observed and recorded as a function of fiber orientation.

In the present work, the bearing failure of composite bolted connections of composite laminates was analysed both experimentally and numerically. The glass fiber woven mat 600GSM/ epoxy composite laminates were prepared using wet-layup technique. The process parameters were taken care during preparation of laminates. Examination is done for various estimations of edge-to-hole diameter and width-to-hole diameter proportion. Stress is evaluated in laminates by utilizing Hart-Smith criteria. Ideal estimation of e/d proportion, d/w proportion is recommended for most extreme effectiveness. A numerical technique is utilized for the rough determination of a load shared by bolts in a numerous "bolted" joints loaded in tension were investigated experimentally and numerically. The effect of un-evenness in load shearing is suggested.
