Domestic violence against women remains one of the most difficult obstacles in the growth of civilization. The maxillofacial region is commonly involved, and injuries are complex to characterize and manage due to diverse presentations, underlying physiological changes and sometimes an association with pregnancy complications, creating a challenge for the operating surgeon. This case report discusses the clinical presentation of maxillofacial injuries sustained by a pregnant woman who also had obstetric complications. The management of such trauma by a multidisciplinary squad led by the maxillofacial surgery team is outlined. Increasing awareness among oral healthcare providers for the early identification of interpersonal abuse along with timely intervention and adequate referral is important. Close monitoring and follow-up are also mandatory.

Aim To observe the prevalence of signs and symptoms of Temporomandibular joint disorders in patients visiting outpatient department, AIIMS Rishikesh. Method and material The survey was conducted in a total of 960 patients, who visited outpatient Department (OPD), dept of Dentistry, AIIMS Rishikesh and were asked to fill a questionnaire based on Fonseca questionnaire for TMD in accordance to the inclusion and exclusion criteria. Results Out of 960 patients, 449 had no TMD, 322 patients had mild TMD, 123 moderate and severe TMD was seen in 54 patients. Also, male dominance for TMD was seen in all the groups. There was no age predilection; however most of the patients with severe TMD fell between 16 and 60 years of age. Conclusion TMD is a common problem occurring in all age groups, there was a male dominance seen in the epidemiological study.

A series of sulpha/substituted derivatives of phenyl azo-1,2-diazole have been synthesized and tested as an anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial activity in mature albino rats hind paw by taking Diclofenac sodium as standard. N1-(4-hydroxy benzoyl)-3-methyl-5-phenyl-4(N-4-chlorophenylazo)-1,2-diazole is synthesized by a two-step process. In the first step, synthesis of N1-4-chlorophenyl hydrazono-1-methyl-3-phenyl propane-1,3-dione by the reciprocal action of 1-methyl-5-phenylpropane-1,3-dione and diazonium salt solution of phenyl-chloride interacts with 4-hydroxybenzoic acid hydrazide to form the final compound. These diazoles, the heterocyclic compounds which contained electron withdrawing groups, were screened for analgesic activity by acetic acid induced writing method, and for anti-inflammatory activity carried on carrageenan-induced paw edema. The synthesized substituted Chlorophenylazo-1,2-diazole nucleus exhibited significant anti-bacterial, anti-cancer, anti-inflammatory activity, muscle relaxing and moderate activity in anti-proliferative studies.

Genus Vigna represented by more than 100 species is a source of nutritious edible seeds and sprouts that are rich sources of protein and dietary supplements. It is further valuable because of therapeutic attributes due to its antioxidant and anti-diabetic properties. A highly diverse and an extremely ecological niche of different species can be valuable genomic resources for productivity enhancement. It is one of the most underutilized crops for food security and animal feeds. In spite of huge species diversity, only three species of Vigna have been sequenced; thus, there is a need for molecular markers for the remaining species. Computational approach of microsatellite marker discovery along with evaluation of polymorphism utilizing available genomic data of different genotypes can be a quick and an economical approach for genomic resource development. Cross-species transferability by e-PCR over available genomes can further prioritize the potential SSR markers, which could be used for genetic diversity and population differentiation of the remaining species saving cost and time. We present VigSatDB-the world's first comprehensive microsatellite database of genus Vigna, containing >875 K putative microsatellite markers with 772 354 simple and 103 865 compound markers mined from six genome assemblies of three Vigna species, namely, Vigna radiata (Mung bean), Vigna angularis (Adzuki bean) and Vigna unguiculata (Cowpea). It also contains 1976 validated published markers. Markers can be selected on the basis of chromosomes/location specificity, and primers can be generated using Primer3core tool integrated at backend. Efficacy of VigSatDB for microsatellite loci genotyping has been evaluated by 15 markers over a panel of 10 diverse genotype of V. radiata. Our web genomic resources can be used in diversity analysis, population and varietal differentiation, discovery of quantitative trait loci/genes, marker-assisted varietal improvement in endeavor of Vigna crop productivity and management.

The complex K[RuIII(HEDTA)Cl].H2O1 and [(HEDTA) Ruv = O]2 were prepared and characterised by elemental analysis, IR, UV-Vis spectroscopy, conductivity, magnetic susceptibility and electrochemical studies (HEDTA-hydroxyethyl-ethylenediaminetriacetate anion). The kinetics of oxygen atom transfer of [RuIII(HEDTA) (H2O)]1a to [(HEDTA) Ruv = O]2 with iodosoylbenzene was studied spectrophotometrically by using stopped-flow technique. The oxygen atom transfer from complex2 to cyclohexene, cyclooctene, styrene,cis andtrans-stilbene was studied by the disappearance of the characteristic oxo peak (λmax = 391 nm) at constant pH (3.0) and ionic strength (μ= 0.1 M NaClO4) and also product analysis by gas chromatography (GC). The activation parameters for both the oxygenation of complex1 to complex2, and oxygen atom transfer from complex2 to the organic substrates studied were evaluated and suitable mechanisms proposed.
