EnglishAs the capital of the Republic, Bogota has become the most important territorial entity in the country. This has led to an important influence on the rest of the territorial entities, but especially on the surrounding municipalities. Its influence in social, economic and geographical terms has led to conurbation phenomena since the second half of the 20th century. At present, this influence is maintained and requires the creation of a metropolitan area, which allows the articulation of the capital with its neighbors and in particular with the municipality of Soacha. Although it is a municipality that faces problems of various kinds and that could be a disadvantage, many of these problems derive from its neighborhood with Bogota. In order to understand the size of these problems, three major areas were identified in this document on which a coordinated intervention between Bogota and Soacha must be carried out, such as population growth and the needs derived from it. Likewise, a closer articulation must be achieved regarding mobility and the effects derived from the transfer of companies that were previously located in the capital.
