This study assesses the convergent and predictive validity, factor structure, internal consistency and test-retest reliability of the PRAiSE scale, a new measure which was designed to assess current-standing levels of five post-traumatic growth (PTG) dimensions. This measure assesses five different dimensions: possibilities, relationships, appreciation of life, strength, and existence. The measure consists of 29 items which were adapted from a variety of measures in the post-traumatic growth literature. In contrast to cross-sectional measures like the PTGI (Tedeschi & Calhoun, 1996), the PRAiSE scale focuses on the current general level of each growth dimension instead of focusing on perceived changes attributed to a specific event. This approach allows for longitudinal research designs and trajectory analysis.
