A ternary PANI/graphitic carbon nitride (g-C3N4)/MXene (PCM) composite has been successfully prepared by introducing graphitic carbon nitride (g-C3N4) and shows excellent electrochemical properties when used as an electrode for supercapacitors.

The separation of oceanic spilled oils and industrial oily wastewaters becomes a great challenge, and it is highly desirable to develop efficient materials for oil/water separation. As abundant sustainable resources, superhydrophobic papers (SPs) have drawn much attention because of low-cost and efficient oil/water separation. Herein, this mini-review summarizes recent advances of SPs in terms of design, preparation, and properties. On the basis of the many excellent properties of SPs (i.e., self-cleaning, durability, chemical corrosion resistance, and reusability), the oil/water separation performances (i.e., separation efficiency, permeation flux, and recyclability) of SPs as well as the corresponding mechanisms are discussed. The efficient oil/water separation property and recyclability of SPs make them promising candidates in the field of oily wastewater treatment.

Aprotic Li-CO2 batteries have attracted growing interest due to their high theoretical energy density and its ability to use green house gas CO2 for energy storage. However, the poor ability of activating CO2 in organic electrolyte often leads to the premature termination of CO2 reduction reaction (CO2RR) directly. Here in this work, cetyl trimethyl ammonium bromide (CTAB) was introduced into a dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) based Li-CO2 battery for the first time to enhance the CO2RR. Significantly improved electrochemical performances, including reduced discharge over-potential and increased discharge capacity, can be achieved with the addition of CTAB. Ab initio molecular dynamics (AIMD) simulations show that quaternary ammonium group CTA+ can accelerate CO2 reduction process by forming more stable contact ion pair (CIP) with CO2–, reducing the energy barrier for CO2RR, thus improving the CO2 reduction process. In addition, adding CTA+ is also favorable for the solution-phase growth of discharge products because of the improved migration ability of stable CTA+-CO2– CIP in the electrolyte, which is beneficial for improving the utilization ratio of cathode. This work could facilitate the development of CO2RR by providing a novel understanding of CO2RR mechanism in organic system.

In recent years, the development of 5G communication technology and the Internet has progressed by leaps and bounds. The combination of the Internet and traditional industries has given birth to a new form of economic and social development - “Internet +”, which has accelerated the internetization of the entire industry. The integration of Internet thinking into the development of traditional metal craft cultural and creative products has become the key to people’s research. This paper aims to study the design method of cultural and creative products based on the fusion of 5G technology and traditional metal craftsmanship. This paper proposes the basic theoretical concepts of 5G technology and cultural and creative products. The experimental results of this paper show that the current traditional metal craft form score is between 3.9 and 5.2. The category score ranges from 4.8 to 6.1, and the creative score ranges from 3.8 to 5.3. It can be seen that the traditional metal craft not only faces the problem of a single form, but also faces the problem of lack of innovative thinking. Therefore, traditional cultural and creative products have not kept pace with the times. The research on cultural and creative product design that integrates 5G technology and traditional metal craftsmanship is very important.

HPV68 is a common HR-HPV, its persistent infection is closely related with the occurrence of cervical cancer. In this study, 2939 (27.60%, 2939/10650) positive samples were detected, and 174 (5.92%, 174/2939) were HPV68. 150 HPV68 E6-E7 were successful sequenced, 4 non-synonymous mutations were detected in E6, and E7 were 12. N133S non-synonymous mutations of HPV 68 E6 and C67G, T68 A/M of HPV68 E7 are E6, E7 positive selection sites, they all located in the key domains and major motifs of E6/E7 protein, the above amino-acid substitutions changed the protein structure, disturbed the interaction with other protein or cellular factors and make a difference in epitopes affinity, may affect the pathogenicity and adaptability of HPV68 to the environment. The enrichment of HPV68 data is of great significance for understanding the inherent geographical and biological differences of HPV68 in China.

Li-CO2 batteries provide an attractive and potential strategy for CO2 utilization as well as energy conversion and storage with high specific energy densities. However, the poor reversibility caused by the decomposition obstacles of Li2CO3 and C products is still a challenge for Li-CO2 batteries, which seriously influences its electrochemical performances. Herein, a free-standing MnOOH arrays cathode has been prepared and employed in Li-CO2 battery, which realizes a great improvement of electrochemical performances by adjusting the discharge products distribution. Experiments coupled with theoretical calculations verifies that the formation of Li-containing carbonaceous species (LiCO2, LiCO and Li2CO3) bonded with MnOOH through Li ion regulates the nucleation behavior of Li2CO3 and C, making them grown on MnOOH uniformly. The fine Li2CO3 grains (with a size about 5 nm) embedded into carbon matrix greatly enlarges the contact interface between them, facilitating the transmission of electrons through the discharge products and finally improves CO2 evolution activity. This ingenious design strategy of regulating discharge products distribution to improve electrochemical performances provides a promising way to develop advanced Li-CO2 batteries.

Long timber columns are widely used in traditional timber structures worldwide; however, many of them possess bearing capacity issues and have to be strengthened. The current study aims to develop the novel Hybrid fiber reinforced polymers (HFRP) sheets suitable for long timber columns. In the first stage, six HFRP sheets were designed, and the evaluation of these sheets was carried out by the tensile tests and the Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) tests. Secondly, for the compression test, two sets of 36 timber columns were designed utilizing six types of HFRP sheets. Finally, the effects of different sheet types and strengthening methods on the compressive performance of timber columns were investigated. The findings reveal that bidirectional HFRP sheets have excellent compressive performance for timber columns. In the case of using one-layer interval reinforcement, the bearing capacity can be increased by 22.27%, which is 12.15–17.81% higher than that of the unidirectional HFRP sheets. Compared with one-layer reinforcement, the two-layer reinforcement increased from 0.91% to 5.35%. The current study's findings are intended to provide an essential scientific foundation for the advancement of fiber-reinforced timber column technology and the preservation of the heritage of timber structures.

OBJECTIVE To evaluate the protective effects of Astragaloside IV (AST) in a rat model of myocardial injury induced by cecal ligation and puncture (CLP). METHODS The model of sepsis-induced cardiac dysfunction was induced by CLP. Using a random number table, 50 specific pathogen free grade of Sprague Dawley rats were randomized into 5 groups: the sham group (sham), the model group (CLP, 18 h/72 h) and AST group (18 h/72 h). Except the sham group, the rats in other groups received CLP surgery to induce sepsis. CLP groups received intragastric administration with normal saline after CLP. AST groups received intragastric administration with AST solution (40 mg/kg) once a day. The levels of inflammatory mediators and oxidative stress markers in the serum of the septic rats were determined via enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) at different time point, such as interleukin 6 (IL-6), IL-10, high mobility group box-1 protein B1 (HMGB-1), superoxide dismutase (SOD), and malondialdehyde (MDA). Cardiac function was determined by echocardiography. Moreover, changes in myocardial pathology were evaluated using hematoxylin and eosin staining. The levels of lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) and creatine kinase-MB (CK-MB) were analysed to determine the status of CLP-induced myocardium. In addition, the apotosis of myocardial cells was analysed by terminal-deoxynucleoitidyl transferase mediated nick end labeling (TUNEL). The protein levels of B-cell lymphoma-2 (Bcl-2), Bcl-2-associated X (Bax), IκB kinase α (IKKα), nuclear factor kappa B p65 (NF-κB p65) were detected by Western blot analysis. Sézary syndrome (SS) is a rare type of cutaneous T-cell lymphoma (CTCL) that is characterized by erythroderma, lymphadenopathy and circulating clonal T-cells (Sézary cells). However, to our knowledge, reactive Langerhans cell (LC) proliferation mimicking Langerhans cell histiocytosis (LCH) associated with SS has not been reported. In this report, we describe an unusual case of reactive LC proliferation mimicking LCH associated with SS in a 57-year-old female patient. With complaints of recurrent skin symptoms and enlarged lymph nodes (LNs), she was admitted to our center with a presumptive diagnosis of LCH as demonstrated by LN biopsy pathology. However, other than adenopathy, no lesions were noted in any organ system commonly involved in LCH. Typical Sézary cells were identified through morphology and further confirmed by flow cytometric immunophenotyping in peripheral blood (PB) and bone marrow (BM). In addition, T-cell receptor gene rearrangement was positive, whereas the BRAF V600E gene mutation was negative in skin, LN, PB and BM. The patient was ultimately diagnosed with SS with reactive LC proliferation. This case should remind clinicians to be wary of diagnosing LCH if LCH-like pathology occurs exclusively in LNs. Moreover, morphologic, immunologic, cytogenetic and molecular biologic studies should be performed to avoid misdiagnosis.

A highly electronegative carboxyl-decorated anionic metal-organic framework (MOF), (Me2NH2)2[In2(THBA)2](CH3CN)9(H2O)21 (InOF; H4THBA = [1,1':4',1″-terphenyl]-2',3,3″,5,5',5″-hexacarboxylic acid), with high-density electronegative functional sites was designed and constructed. One unit cell of InOF possesses 12 negative sites that originate from the negatively charged secondary building unit [In(COO)4]- and exposed carboxyl groups on the ligand. The abundant electronegative sites can facilitate the hopping of ions in channels and thus result in highly efficient ion conductivities for various metal ions. Our results show that Li+-loaded materials have a remarkably high ion conductivity of 1.49 × 10-3 S/cm, an ion transference number of 0.78, and a relatively low activation energy of 0.19 eV. The Na+, K+, and Zn2+ ion conductivities of InOF are 7.97 × 10-4, 7.69 × 10-4, and 1.22 × 10-3 S/cm at 25 °C, respectively.

Understanding the chemical composition and molecular transformation in soil dissolved organic matter (DOM) is important to the global carbon cycle. To address this issue, ultrahigh-resolution Fourier transform ion cyclotron resonance mass spectrometry (FT-ICR-MS) was applied to investigate DOM molecules in 36 paddy soils collected from subtropical China. All the detected 7576 unique molecules were divided into seven compound groups, and nine trade-off relationships between different compound groups were revealed based on principal component analysis and Pearson's correlation. An optimized method was developed to evaluate all potential molecular transformations in DOM samples. The concept of thermodynamics was introduced to evaluate the identified molecular transformations and classify them as thermodynamically favorable (TFP) and thermodynamically limited (TLP) processes. Here, we first tried to understand the molecular trade-offs by using the potential molecular transformations. All the nine trade-offs could be explained by molecular transformations. Six trade-offs had bases of biochemical reactions, and the trade-off-related direct transformations could explain the content variations of carbohydrate-like, condensed aromatic-like, tannin-like, and lignin-like compounds in TLP. More reasonable explanations existed in the TLP rather than TFP, which demonstrated the critical role of external energy in the molecular transformation of soil DOM.

Background Quick contrast sensitivity function (qCSF) method is an advanced quick method for contrast sensitivity function (CSF) evaluation. This study evaluated the contrast sensitivity (CS) of eyes undergoing cataract surgery with multifocal intraocular lens (IOL) implantation and its tolerance to IOL tilt and IOL decentration using the qCSF method. Methods Patients undergoing uneventful phacoemulsification and a trifocal IOL (Zeiss AT LISA tri 839MP, Carl Zeiss, Germany) or an extended depth-of-focus (EDOF) IOL (Tecnis Symfony ZXR00, Johnson & Johnsons, USA) implantation were included. Monocular contrast sensitivity was measured using the qCSF method at one month post-surgery. IOL tilt and decentration were measured using an optical aberrometer (OPD-Scan III, NIDEK, Japan). Results Seventy-two patients/eyes with the 839MP IOL and 64 patients/eyes with the ZXR00 IOL were included. Area under the log CSF (AULCSF) and CS acuity did not differ significantly between the two groups. The ZXR00 IOL group showed better CS at 1 cpd (1.137 ± 0.164 vs. 1.030 ± 0.183 logCS) and 1.5 cpd (1.163 ± 0.163 vs. 1.071 ± 0.161 logCS), while the 839MP IOL group had better CS at 6 cpd (0.855 ± 0.187 vs. 0.735 ± 0.363 logCS). In the 839MP IOL group, all CSF metrics were negatively correlated with IOL tilt (all P P > 0.05). Among myopic eyes, fewer CSF metrics were negatively correlated with IOL tilt in the ZXR00 IOL group than in the 839MP IOL group. No significant correlation was found between CSF metrics and IOL decentration. Conclusions The ZXR00 and the 839MP IOL groups presented comparable CSF. CS was negatively correlated with IOL tilt, instead of decentration in multifocal IOLs, particularly among myopic eyes. The ZXR00 IOL had better tolerance to IOL tilt in myopic eyes.

Ba3Y(4−4x−4y)Er4xYb4yO9 precursor was synthesized by ammonium bicarbonate co-precipitation method, and its chemical formula is: (NH4)xBa3RE4(OH)y(CO3)z ·nH2O (RE3+ =Y3+, Er3+ and Yb3+). The target product was obtained by calcining at 1400 °C in muffle furnace after 5 h. By means of Thermogravimetric Analysis (TG), X-ray diffraction (XRD), Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscope (FE-SEM), Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR), photoluminescence/photoluminescence excitation (PLE/PL), fluorescence attenuation and color coordinate, the composition, structural characteristics, particle morphology and fluorescence performance of the precursor and target product were studied. The particle size of the precursor was between 50 nm–100 nm, and the particle size of the calcined product was between 1 μm−2 μm. The absorption capacity of the fluorescent material to light is enhanced with the increase of doped ions. The optimal dosage of Yb3+/Er3+ co-doped Ba3Y(4−4x−4y)Er4xYb4yO9 was x = 0.05 and y = 0.20. The color coordinate of Ba3Y3Er0.2Yb0.8O9 phosphor is (0.73, 0.27) and the color temperature is 7383.6 K, showing excellent red light emission.

miRNA-223 has been previously reported to play an essential role in hepatic cholesterol homeostasis. However, its role in regulation of biliary cholesterol secretion and gallstone formation remains unknown. Hence, mice with conventional knockout (KO), hepatocyte-specific knockout (ΔHepa) / knockdown (KD) or gain expression of miRNA-223 were included in the study and were subjected to lithogenic diet (LD) for various weeks. The gall bladders and liver tissues were harvested for cholesterol crystal imaging, gallstone mass measurement and molecular analysis. Levels of cholesterol, bile salt, phospholipids, and triglyceride were determined in serum, liver tissues, and bile by enzyme color reactive assays. A 3' UTR reporter gene assay was used to verify the direct target genes for miRNA-223. LD-induced gallstone formation was remarkably accelerated in miRNA-223 KO, ΔHepa, and KD mice with concurrent enhancement in total cholesterol levels in liver tissues and bile. Key biliary cholesterol transporters ABCG5 and ABCG8 were identified as direct targets of miRNA-223. Reversely, AAV-mediated hepatocyte-specific miRNA-223 overexpression prevented gallstone progression with reduced targets expression. Therefore, the present study demonstrates a novel role of miRNA-223 in the gallstone formation by targeting ABCG5 and ABCG8 and elevating miRNA-223 would be a potentially novel approach to overcome the sternness of cholesterol gallstone disease.

With the COVID-19 pandemic sweeping the world, the development of China's energy industry has been hampered. Although previous studies have shown the global influence of COVID-19 on energy prices and macroeconomic indicators, very few of them examined the impact on China independently, considering the special role of China in this pandemic and economy. In this study, we investigate the impact of the pandemic on several major China energy prices using the ARIMA-GARCH model. Combined with the Value-at-Risk (VaR) theory, we further explore the market risk, which indicates an increase in the tail risk of energy price volatility and the dramatic turbulence in energy markets. In addition, a Vector Autoregressive (VAR) model is developed to analyze how the main macroeconomic indicators are affected when energy prices fluctuate. According to the model results, energy price fluctuations caused by the COVID-19 have a negative impact on economic growth and inflation, with a higher contribution to the latter changes. Based on the modeling analysis results, this paper makes constructive suggestions on how to stabilize energy prices and recover the economic development in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Drilling, seismic and logging data were used to evaluate the hydrocarbon accumulation conditions of the mound-shoal complexes in the platform margin of the fourth member of Sinian Dengying Formation in the east side of the Mianzhu-Changning intracratonic rift in the Sichuan Basin. The four understandings are: (1) The platform margin belt of the Deng 4 Member can be divided into three sections, northern, middle and southern; the middle section is at the core of the Gaoshiti-Moxi paleouplift and the structural high now, while the southern and northern sections are at the slope of the paleouplift and the structural lows now; the three sections have similar development characteristics and reservoir features of platform margin mound-shoal complex. (2) In the margin of the east side of the rift, there are several faults nearly perpendicular to the platform margin belt, the faults divide the platform margin belt into rugged paleo-landform, and the high part developed platform margin mound-shoal complexes and the reservoirs are good in physical properties, while the low part developed inter-beach depression and no mound-shoal complexes, where the reservoirs are poor in physical properties. (3) The six groups of faults nearly perpendicular to the platform margin belt divide the platform margin belt into seven large mound-shoal complexes which have similar hydrocarbon accumulation conditions and accumulation evolution process and are rich in petroleum. (4) The inter shoal depressions between the mound-shoal complexes are characterized by tighter lithology, which can block the updip direction of the mounds and shoals at the lower part of the slope of the paleouplift and are favorable for the later preservation of mound-shoal gas reservoirs. This has been proved by Well Jiaotan 1 and Heshen 2 drilled successfully. The mound-shoal complexes on the platform margin of the structural slope area have a good exploration prospect.

A major challenge for Li-O

Nuanxin capsule (NX), an in-hospital preparation of Guangdong Provincial Hospital of Chinese Medicine, has been used in heart failure (HF) treatment for 15 years, but its mechanism and protective effect have not been investigated. This study was aimed at exploring the mechanism and protective effect of NX on HF treatment via network pharmacology analysis and experimental validation. Network pharmacology analysis predicted that NX was involved in the regulation of response to apoptotic process and hypoxia via protecting cellular damage and mitochondrial dysfunction against chronic hypoxia. Its mechanism may be involved in the regulation of the PI3K-Akt signaling pathway, HIF-1 signaling pathway, AMPK signaling pathway, and MAPK signaling pathway. Experimental validation indicated that NX was capable of improving cellular viability, restoring cellular morphology, and suppressing cellular apoptosis cellular. NX also exerted cardioprotection by inhibiting mitochondrial membrane potential injury and protecting mitochondrial respiratory and energy metabolism in a chronic hypoxia cellular model, which was consistent with the results of network pharmacology prediction. In addition, the screened active compounds of NX did have a good binding with their key targets, indicating NX may exert protective effect through multicompounds and multitargets. In conclusion, NX had a protective effect on HF through cellular and mitochondrial protection against chronic hypoxia via multicompounds, multitargets, and multipathways, and its mechanism may be involved in modulating the PI3K-Akt signaling pathway, HIF-1 signaling pathway, AMPK signaling pathway, and MAPK signaling pathway.

The well-known Stober method has been widely used to synthesize nonporous silica nanospheres (NPs), however, in the absence of surfactant templates, the synthesis of mesoporous silica nanospheres (MSNs) has not been achieved. Herein, in the absence of organic surfactant templates, by a simple premixing of three components tetraethoxysilane-water-ethanol (TEOS-H2O-EtOH) with a precise molar ratio, the parent silica nanoparticles with a low condensation degree and controlled particle size can be readily obtained. Subsequently, via a simple two-step post-treatment, the obtained MSNs exhibited a high surface area (ca. 500 m2 g-1), accessible mesopores (3.0 nm), and a large pore volume (0.87 mL g-1), similar to those of MCM-41 and SBA-15 silicas. The unique self-templating role of the 'pre-Ouzo' effect of ternary surfactant-free TEOS-H2O-EtOH systems was proposed to understand the formation of mesoporosity.

We report a facile method for preparation of polystyrene (PS) particles with spherical, raspberry-like, and hollow flower-like structures by single-step non-surfactant self-templating polymerization of styrene in ethanol–water mixtures. PS particles with diverse morphologies could be easily obtained by simply adjusting the volume ratios of the styrene/water/ethanol mixture and initiator-ethanol–water mixture. By decreasing this ratio, the particles with spherical, raspberry-like, and hollow flower-like structures were obtained in sequence. The wettability of the coatings changing from hydrophilicity to hydrophobicity was easily tuned by the PS particles with different roughnesses. A competitive mechanism of interfacial polymerization and exudation was proposed to interpret the formation of PS particles with diverse morphologies.

Probiotic treatment might improve autism spectrum disorder (ASD) behavior. In this study, we investigated the improvement effects of Lactobacillus plantarum ST-III on a mouse model of ASD, which was constructed using triclosan. After two weeks of L. plantarum ST-III oral feeding, autism-like social deficits in male mouse models were ameliorated. L. plantarum ST-III also attenuated the self-grooming and freezing times of female mice. High-throughput sequencing revealed changes in the gut microbiota after L. plantarum ST-III intervention. In the female probiotic group, the abundance of beneficial Lachnospiraceae bacteria increased, whereas that of harmful Alistipes bacteria decreased. Correlation analysis showed that amelioration of abnormal behavior in a mouse model of ASD was related to the involvement of certain metabolic pathways. A reduction in the abundance of Alistipes was involved in stereotyped behavioral improvement. Thus, oral supplementation with L. plantarum ST-III can help improve social behavior in a male mouse model of ASD and contribute to more balanced intestinal homeostasis.

Artocarpus nanchuanensis (Moraceae), which is naturally distributed in China, is a representative and extremely endangered tree species. In this study, we obtained a high-quality chromosome-scale genome assembly and annotation information for A. nanchuanensis using integrated approaches, including Illumina, Nanopore sequencing platform, and Hi-C. A total of 128.71 Gb of raw Nanopore reads were generated from 20-kb libraries, and 123.38 Gb of clean reads were obtained after filtration with 160.34× coverage depth and a 17.48-kb average read length. The final assembled A. nanchuanensis genome was 769.44 Mb with a 2.09 Mb contig N50, and 99.62% (766.50 Mb) of the assembled data was assigned to 28 pseudochromosomes. In total, 39,596 genes (95.10%, 39,596/41,636) were successfully annotated, and 129 metabolic pathways were detected. Plants disease resistance/insect resistance genes, plant–pathogen interaction metabolic pathways, and abundant biosynthesis pathways of vitamins, flavonoid, and gingerol were detected. Unigene reveals the basis of species-specific functions, and gene family in contraction and expansion generally implies strong functional differences in the evolution. Compared with other related species, a total of 512 unigenes, 309 gene families in contraction, and 559 gene families in expansion were detected in A. nanchuanensis. This A. nanchuanensis genome information provides an important resource to expand our understanding of the unique biological processes, nutritional and medicinal benefits, and evolutionary relationship of this species. The study of gene function and metabolic pathway in A. nanchuanensis may reveal the theoretical basis of a special trait in A. nanchuanensis and promote the study and utilization of its rare medicinal value.

Berberine has received rising attention for its application in cardiovascular disease because of its relationship with inflammation. The endothelial NLRP3 inflammasome triggers inflammatory vascular injury which would lead to cardiovascular disease. Endothelial calcium signalling plays a crucial role in both the activation of NLRP3 inflammasome and endothelial cells dysfunction. However, the efficacy of BBR on the endothelial NLRP3 inflammasome in inflammatory vascular injury remains unknown.In this study, we focused on the NLRP3 pathway to determine whether BBR regulates endothelial junction function in inflammatory vascular injury.The integrity of the junction proteins VE-cadherin (VEC) and zonula occludens-1 (ZO-1) detected by immunofluorescence and immunoblotting was used to determine the therapeutic effect of BBR (50, 100, or 200 mg/kg/day) in LPS (100 μg/kg/day)-induced inflammatory vascular injury in mice and mouse microvascular endothelial cells (MECs) treated with LPS (1 μLPS ) and ATP (5 mM). Endothelial permeability was assessed by FITC-labelled dextran and trans-endothelial electrical resistance (TEER) in vitro. The assembly and activation of NLRP3 inflammasomes were detected by western blotting and immunofluorescence. Pharmacophore-based virtual molecular docking studies and calcium imaging analyses were used to determine the interaction of BBR with the ATP-gated CaBBR recovered the expression of ZO-1 and VEC and inhibited endothelial NLRP3 inflammasome activation in coronary microvascular endothelium and in MECs. These results suggested a crucial role of the NLRP3 inflammasome in BBR-regulated endothelial integrity. Danqi soft capsule (DQ) is a Chinese herb medicine with a remarkable protective effect on cardio-cerebrovascular diseases.The study aimed to investigate the role and mechanism of DQ on left atrial (LA) remodeling and atrial fibrillation (AF) occurrence in rats with post-myocardial infarction (MI) induced heart failure (HF).MI in rats was established by ligation of the left anterior descending coronary artery. DQ was administered to the post-MI induced HF rats over a 4-week period. AF inducibility was detected using the transesophageal programmed electrical stimulation technology. Echocardiogram, histology, and western blot analysis were performed. Meanwhile, cardiac fibroblasts (CFs) were performed to determine the effects of DQ on CFs function by 3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2,5 diphenyltetrazolium bromide (MTT), flow cytometry, transwell assay and ELISA.The DQ-treated rats showed lower rates of AF inducibility and shorter AF durations than the MI rats. Moreover, DQ inhibited fibrosis and increased the expression of Cx43 in the left atrium; it also inhibited the myofibroblasts differentiation by reducing the expression of cytokines TNF-α, IL-6, and TGF-β1 via the TGF-β1/Smad 3 pathway. In addition, DQ inhibited the proliferation, migration, and collagen secretion of CFs in vitro.DQ reduces the risk of AF in post-MI HF rats by ameliorating LA arrhythmogenic substrate via inhibiting the function of proliferation, migration, collagen secretion, and myofibroblasts differentiation of CFs. Together, these results indicate the therapeutic potential of DQ in AF by delaying the progression of LA remodeling in post-MI-induced HF. Targeting CFs may be a novel prospective therapeutic avenue for AF after MI.

Rechargeable Li–CO 2 batteries recently have gained an increasing popularity because they can directly reduce fossil fuel consumption and convert chemical energy of greenhouse gas CO 2 into electric energy. However, Li–CO 2 batteries still suffer from great challenges to realize long-term cycling due to a high charging voltage to drive the electrochemical decomposition of discharge products Li 2 CO 3 . Herein, porous NiO nanofibers obtained by electrospining technique are firstly served as a high-efficient cathode catalyst in Li–CO 2 batteries. The addition of NiO not only improves the catalytic performance of batteries but also tailors the cathode structure. Experimental results and theoretical calculation show the existence of NiO facilitates a conformal growth of Li 2 CO 3 on the NiO surface with large contact areas, which promotes the decomposition of Li 2 CO 3 among charging process. Owing to these synchronous advantages, enhanced electrochemical performances including high capacity, superior round-trip efficiency and especially the long cycling-life are achieved.
