Multidisciplinary - Abstract
High areal capacitance for a practical supercapacitor electrode requires both large mass loading and high utilization efficiency of electroactive materials, which presents a great challenge. Herein, we demonstrated the unprecedented synthesis of superstructured NiMoO 4 @CoMoO 4 core-shell nanofiber arrays (NFAs) on a Mo-transition-layer-modified nickel foam (NF) current collector as a new material, achieving the synergistic combination of highly conductive CoMoO 4 and electrochemical active NiMoO 4 . Moreover, this superstructured material exhibited a large gravimetric capacitance of 1,282.2 F/g in 2 M KOH with a mass loading of 7.8 mg/cm 2 , leading to an ultrahigh areal capacitance of 10.0 F/cm 2 that is larger than any reported values of CoMoO 4 and NiMoO 4 electrodes. This work provides a strategic insight for rational design of electrodes with high areal capacitances for supercapacitors.

The utilization of visible light for direct photocatalytic methane conversion remains a huge challenge. Here, we developed a thermo-photo catalytic process with a visible-light-responsive Pt/WO3 catalyst and realized highly efficient visible-light driven methane conversion for the first time. The conversion efficiency was enhanced by 4.6 and 14.7 times compared to room-temperature photocatalysis and thermal catalysis at 150 °C, respectively. Furthermore, the production of liquid oxygenates (mainly CH3OH) was found to proceed via photocatalysis with high apparent quantum efficiencies of 5.9%, 4.5%, and 1.9% at 350, 420, and 450 nm, respectively, while CO2 evolution was contributed by photoassisted thermal catalysis. Solid isotope evidence further confirmed that CH3OH, HCHO, and CO2 were produced via parallel rather than sequential reactions. These observations provide a valuable guide for designing a visible-light driven system for methane conversion with high efficiency and controllable selectivity.

Dacryocystitis diagnosis is important for preventing rapid blurring and vision loss. Existing state-of-the-art methods focus on routine clinical examinations and objective scattering index-based statistical analysis. Such approaches are invasive operations or lack quantitative indicators, and their application is limited. in addition, little attention has been paid to the explainability and clinical utility of models. This paper proposes an explainable dacryocystitis prediction model from noninvasive ocular indicators. The proposed model is based on an deep stacked network with 4 improvements: a multivariable feature extraction module, obtaining comprehensive predictive factors including the quantitative ocular indictors, conventional texture features, and deep learning features from shallow to deep convolutional layers; a multifeature fusion and attribute selection module based on the ReliefF method, guiding the network to focus on useful information at variables; Decision curve analysis the model is introduced into the model to evaluates the risks and benefits; and appending a SHapley Additive exPlanations (SHAP) module to the framework to automatically and efficiently interpret the prediction of the models. By integrating the above improvements in series, the models' performances are gradually enhanced. Real labeled data samples are used to train and test the model, and our model achieves high accuracy and reliability.

Photocatalytic ethane conversion into value-added chemicals is a great challenge especially under visible light irradiation. The production of ethyl hydroperoxide (CH3CH2OOH), which is a promising radical reservoir for regulating the oxidative stress in cells, is even more challenging due to its facile decomposition. Here, we demonstrated a design of a highly efficient visible-light-responsive photocatalyst, Au/WO3, for ethane oxidation into CH3CH2OOH, achieving an impressive yield of 1887 μmol gcat−1 in two hours under visible light irradiation at room temperature for the first time. Furthermore, thermal energy was introduced into the photocatalytic system to increase the driving force for ethane oxidation, enhancing CH3CH2OOH production by six times to 11 233 μmol gcat−1 at 100 °C and achieving a significant apparent quantum efficiency of 17.9% at 450 nm. In addition, trapping active species and isotope-labeling reactants revealed the reaction pathway. These findings pave the way for scalable ethane conversion into CH3CH2OOH as a potential anticancer drug., Highly efficient visible-light driven photocatalytic oxidation of ethane into ethyl hydroperoxide was realized for the first time over Au/WO3.

Pueraria lobata, an edible food and medicinal plant, is a rich source of bioactive components. In this study, a polyphenol-rich extract was isolated from P. lobata. Puerarin was identified, and the high antioxidant bioactivity of the P. lobata extract was evaluated using the methods of 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH), 2,2′-azinobis-(3-ethylbenzthiazoline-6-sulphonate) (ABTS), and hydroxyl free radical scavenging ratio. Additionally, the IC50 values of DPPH, ABTS, and hydroxyl radical scavenging activities were 50.8, 13.9, and 100.4 μg/ml, respectively. Then, the P. lobata extract was administered to C57Bl/6J mice and confirmed to have a superior effect on enhancing the antioxidant status including improving superoxide dismutase activity, glutathione peroxidase peroxide activity, total antioxidant capacity activity, and malondialdehyde contents in vivo. Furthermore, the P. lobata extract had beneficial and prebiotic effects on the composition and structure of gut microbiota. Results showed that the P. lobata extract significantly increased the abundance of beneficial bacteria, involving Lactobacillaceae and Bacteroidetes, and decreased the abundance of Ruminococcaceae, Prevotellaceae, and Burkholderiaceae. Overall, our results provided a basis for using the P. lobata extract as a promising and potential functional ingredient for the food industry.

Backgroud: Tumour recurrence and metastasis lead to poor prognosis incolon cancer(COAD). Therefore We aimed to identify a lncRNA signature through an integrative analysis of copy number variation, mutation and transcriptome data to predict prognosis and explore its internal mechanism. Methods: The lncRNA expression profile were collected fromThe Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) and Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO). TCGA data was randomly divided 3:1 intotraining andtesting cohort. In the training, weperformed integrated analyses of three candidate lncRNA sets that correlated with prognosis, copy number variations and mutations to establish a signature through Cox regression analysis. The robustness was determined in the testing and GEO.Results: An 11-lncRNA signature that was significantly associated with prognosiswas constructed in the training (PP=0.0019, HR=3.374) and GSE17536(P=0.0076, HR=1.864). The signature is significantly related to MSI status and clinical prognostic factors. The prognostic-relatedrisk scores were significantly excellent than the other five models have been reported. Furthermore, GSEA suggested that the signature was involved in COAD development and metastasis-related pathways. Conclusions: We identifiedansignature has strong robustness and can stably predict the prognosis of COAD in different platformsand may be implicated in COAD pathogenesis and metastasis and applied clinically as a prognostic marker.

Colorectal cancer (CRC) has become the second most common digestive tract tumor. Even though the means to treat colon cancer have improved, patients prognosis is low due to the lack of accurate molecular targets. Hence, it urgently demanded better biomarkers for prognosis and progression of colon cancer. This study explores the hub gene associated with the prognosis of colorectal cancer and further analyzes the hub gene function. In this study, all genes mRNA expression data were from the cancer genome atlas (TCGA) colon cancer database and the Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO). These databases were used to screen the differentially expressed co-genes between colon cancer tissue and normal tissue. Weighted Gene Co-expression Network Analysis screened out a total of 103 differential co-expression genes (WGCNA). According to the R cluster profile package annotation analysis, these genes biological functions mainly concentrate on energy metabolism. Moreover, in the protein-protein interaction (PPI) network, the CytoHubba plugin of Cytoscape was used to screen out ten genes (CLCA1, ZG16, GUCA2B, GUCA2A, CLCA4, SLC26A3, MS4A12, GCG, SI, and NR1H4). According to the survival analysis results, high expression of CLCA1has better overall survival and disease-free survival in patients with CRC. Simultaneously, the mRNA expression of CLCA1 in normal tissues was higher than that in CRC tissues. Besides, there were significant differences in the expression of CLCA1 in pathological stage, T stage, and M stage. By using a gene set enrichment analysis, we found several considerable enrichment pathways in the high-groups. CIBERSORT analysis for the proportion of TICs revealed that B-cell naive, dendritic cells, plasma cells, and CD4+ T cells were positively correlated with CLCA1 expression, suggesting that CLCA1 might be responsible for the preservation of immune-dominant status for TME. Finally, in the Human Protein Atlas (HPA) database, the protein level of CLCA1 in the colorectal cancer samples decreased, consistent with the down-regulation of the mRNA expression level CLCA1. To sum up, by integrating WGCNA with differential gene expression analysis, this research generated a significant survival correlative gene called CLCA1 that can predict prognosis prediction in colon cancer.

Reclaimed copper smelting fly ash (RCA) is generated during the reclaimed purple miscellaneous scrap copper smelting process, and seriously pollutes the environment since it contains Cu, Zn, Pb, Cd and other heavy metals. In this study, leaching and electrowinning process was used for Cu recover from RCA. The effects of RCA and H2SO4 mass ratio, solid–liquid ratio, leaching temperature and time on the leaching efficiencies of Cu, Zn, Pb and Cd were investigated. The effects of current density and electrolysis time on the recovery efficiency of Cu were studied. The results indicated that the leaching efficiency of Cu was 92.52% in the leaching process when the mass ratio of RCA and H2SO4 was 1:0.5, the leaching temperature was 50 °C, the solid–liquid ratio was 40 g/L, and the leaching time was 1 h. All the heavy metal contents in the RCA were decreased via acid leaching, and only the Pb content in the leached RCA was higher than the threshold (GB 5085.3–2007). Moreover, the recovery efficiency of Cu was 94.69%, and the Cu purity in the cathode electrowinning powder was 99.21% in the electrowinning process when the the electrolytic time was 1.5 h and current density was 40 mA/cm2. This study provides a new method for the resource utilization and detoxification of RCA.

The prognostic value of the genotype of the PRSS1 gene in patients with pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) remains poorly understood. The aim of the present study was to evaluate the association between the PRSS1 genotype and clinicopathological characteristics of patients with PDAC, as well as to explore the prognostic significance of the PRSS1 genotype in patients with PDAC. A total of 124 patients with PDAC patients were included in the current study and the PRSS1 genotype of the enrolled patients was determined by the polymerase chain reaction. Associations between the PRSS1 genotype and clinicopathological characteristics were subsequently analyzed using the Chi-square test. The impact of the PRSS1 genotype on patient prognosis was assessed using the Kaplan-Meier method, and predictive factors of overall survival (OS) time were analyzed by Cox regression. A total of 56 patients with PDAC (45.16%) had the T/C PRSS1 genotype, which was associated with large tumor sizes (P=0.027) and higher tumor node metastasis (TNM) stages (P=0.041). Following a median follow-up of 19 months, the T/C genotype of PRSS1 genotype was associated with a shorter OS time (P=0.037) compared with the C/C or T/T PRSS1 genotypes. Univariate and multivariate analyses revealed that PRSS1 genotype was identified to be an independent prognostic factor for the OS time of patients with PDAC. The results obtained in the current study suggested that the PRSS1 genotype, as well as factors such as the serum level of carbohydrate antigen 19-9 and the TNM stage, may act as independent prognostic factors for the OS time of patients with PDAC.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the relation between X-ray irradiation and epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT), as well as the potential mechanisms of X-ray-induced EMT in SW480 colorectal cancer (CRC) cells. It is well known that EMT plays a critical role in invasive and metastatic of colorectal cancer progression. However, the possible role of X-ray irradiation on EMT in colorectal cancer is widely disputed and its potential mechanisms are unclear. SW480 CRC were irradiated (0, 2, 4, 6, 8 Gy) and cultured for 48 hrs, and then the cellular morphology was observed. Protein and mRNA expressions were examined by Western blot and QRT-PCR. Cell migratory and invasive capacity was evaluated by Transwell assay. In the 2, 4, 6, 8 Gy groups, SW480 CRC exhibited a classical mesenchymal phenotype compared with the 0 Gy group. The expression of E-cadherin was significantly decreased, while the expression of vimentin and Smad3 was significantly increased in the 2, 4, 6, 8 Gy groups (p0.05) compared with the 0 Gy group; still, the expression of K-ras decreased in the 4, 6, 8 Gy groups (p0.05) compared with the 0 and 2 Gy groups. Furthermore, the cell migration and invasion capacity was significantly enhanced in the 4 and 8 Gy groups compared with the 0 Gy group (p0.05).These results support the fact that X-ray irradiation can induce EMT through promoting Vimentin and Smad3 expression in SW480 CRC cells.

Cardiac fibrosis is a deleterious effect of many cardiovascular diseases. Previous studies have shown that curcumin has exhibited protective effects on cardiovascular diseases. The aim of the present study was to evaluate the effects of curcumin on the activity of human cardiac fibroblasts (CFs) and to elucidate the underlying mechanisms involved. Human CFs were incubated with or without curcumin (20 µmol/l) and transforming growth factor β1 (TGF‑β1; 10 ng/ml), and the expression of α‑smooth muscle actin (α‑SMA), collagen type Iα (COLA)‑1 and COLA3 was evaluated using reverse transcription‑quantitative polymerase chain reaction and western blot analysis. Cell proliferation was evaluated by Cell Counting Kit‑8 analysis, and phases of the cell cycle were studied by flow cytometry. Western blot analysis was performed to evaluate the expression of cyclin‑dependent kinase 1 (CDK1), Cyclin B, phosphorylation (p)‑mothers against decapentaplegic homolog 2/3 (p‑smad2/3), p‑P38, and p‑extracellular regulated protein kinases (ERK). Curcumin significantly reduced mRNA and protein levels of α‑SMA, COLA1, and COLA3 in CFs stimulated with TGF‑β1. However, in the absence of TGF‑β1, curcumin did not have any effects on CFs, suggesting that curcumin inhibited TGF‑β1‑mediated CF activities, including differentiation and collagen deposition. Additionally, curcumin inhibited the proliferation of TGF‑β1‑treated CFs, and promoted G2/M phase cell cycle arrest. Curcumin reduced cell cycle protein expression by inhibiting smad2/3, p38 mitogen‑activated protein kinase, and ERK phosphorylation in TGF‑β1‑treated CFs. Thus, these results indicated that curcumin may be a potential anti‑fibrotic drug to treat cardiac fibrosis.

51 Background: Gastric cancer (GC) is a highly heterogeneous disease. Cell-free DNA (cfDNA) has been a research hotspot in molecular tumor profiling. In advanced GC patients, malignant pleural effusion (MPE) and ascites provide a wealth of tumor cells that can be investigated. The aim of this study is to investigate fusion landscape in advanced GC. Methods: A multicenter study in China was initiated from Aug. 2016, and GC patients have been enrolled as of Aug. 2018. To determine the fusion frequency in GC, we analyzed data from 371clinical GC cases, each of which had results from next-generation sequencing (NGS)-based 381 genes panel assay, analogous to the index patient. Results: Of this entire cohort, 61 patients (16.44%) were identified with fusions, including TMEM45B-FGF3 (3), AXIN1-SMPD3 (3), B3GNTL1-ERBB2 (2), ERBB2-LAMA3 (2), ERBB2-ACLY (2), TRIM24-BRAF (2), ARHGEF1-CD79A (2), FGFR4-UIMC1 (2), MSH2-TTC7A (2), SMARCA4-LDLR (2), GON4L-RIT1 (2), AKT1-CPSF2 (2), GATA6-COLEC12 (2), RICTOR-EFNA5 (2), KAT6A-PLAT (2), ROCK1-CCDC178 (2), HBS1L-MYB (2), SLC30A2-ARID1A (2), MSI2-BIRC5 (2), NOTCH3-UCA1 (2), PIK3C2B-KISS1 (2), RICTOR-OSMR (2), FGFR2-MIR5694 (2), FGFR2-FGFR1 (2), MAN2A2-BLM (2), EGFR-MED15 (1), EML4-ALK(1), GOPC-ROS1 (1), FXR2-TP53 (1), NF1-PSMD11 (1), IRS2-PRKCI (1), FGFR2-KIAA1217(1), FGFR2-TACC2 (1), FGFR3-TACC3 (1). ERBB2, BRAF, EGFR, ALK and ROS1 fusionswere seen in 18.03% (11/61) of advanced Chinese gastric cancer fusion landscape patients. Conclusions: Advanced Chinese gastric cancer fusion landscape is rich, ERBB2, BRAF, EGFR, ALK and ROS1 fusions are rare but potentially druggable in TKIs. Detection of ERBB2, BRAF, EGFR, ALK and ROS1 fusions should be part of comprehensive profiling panels to determine TKIs and direct appropriate combination therapeutic strategies.

To investigate the effects of music therapy on the pain behaviors and survival of rats with bone cancer pain and analyze the mediating mechanism of mitogen activated protein kinase (MAPK) signal transduction pathway.Male Wistar rats aged 5-8 weeks and weighing 160-200 g were collected. The rat models of colorectal cancer bone cancer pain was successfully established. Animals were divided into experimental and control group, each with 10 rats. The animals in the observation group were given Mozart K448 sonata, sound intensity of 60 db, played the sonata once every 1 hr in the daytime, stopped playing during the night, and this cycle was kept for 2 weeks. On the other hand, rats in the control group were kept under the same environment without music.Animals in the experimental group consumed more feed and gained significant weight in comparison to the control group. The tumor volume of the experimental group was significantly smaller than that of the control group (p0.05). After 1-2 weeks of treatment, spontaneous foot withdrawal reflection caused by pain in the experimental group was significantly lower than that in the control group, heat pain threshold and free walking pain scoring in the experimental group were also significantly higher as compared with the control group (p0.05). The expression of p38á and p38β in animals' spinal cord and dorsal root ganglion was significantly lower in the experimental group than in the control group (p0.05).Music therapy may improve the pain behaviors in rats with bone cancer pain, which might be related with low expression of p38á and p38β in the MAPK signal transduction pathway.

We performed an extensive quantitative proteomic analysis on the pooled medulla sample of the 11-week-old spontaneously hypertensive rats (SHR) compared to age-matched normotensive Wistar rats, using iTRAQ technology coupled with nano two-dimentional liquid chromatography followed by high resolution mass spectrometric abundance indexes techniques. Many differentially expressed proteins identified were involved in energy metabolism, such as mitochondrial part, pyruvate dehydrogenase complex, and respiratory chain. These proteins were included in citrate cycle (TCA cycle), pyruvate metabolism and oxidative phosphorylation. The proteomic analysis and subsequent Western blotting on two independent cohorts of animials indicated that the dysregulation of energy metabolism existed in the medulla of the SHR rats. The differentially expressed proteins in the dysregulation of energy metabolism in the medulla of SHR rats included down-regulated ATP6V1D, ATP6VOA1, ATP5L, DLD proteins and up-regulated AK1 protein. MAO-A protein also exhibited decreased regulation, as well as the other 3 above-mentioned energy-relative proteins (ATP6V1D, ATP5L and DLD proteins) belonging to the heterocycle metabolic process. A receiver operating characteristic curve (ROC) analysis on 4 of the differentially expressed proteins respectively resulted in an area under the receiver operating characteristic curve (AUC) of 0.95, 0.90, 0.92, and 0.81 for differentiating the SHR rats from the normotensive rats. This dysfunction in energy metabolism localizes to the medulla, the lower part of brain stem, and is, therefore, likely to contribute to the development, as well as to pathophysiological complications of hypertension.

To clarify the effect of DNA methylation and histone deacetylase inhibitors on the expression of the E-cadherin gene and the invasiveness of the QBC939 cells, the QBC939 cells were separately treated with hydralazine, valproate, or combination of the two drugs. The expression of E-cadherin mRNA and protein was examined by reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR), and Western blot. The methylation status of the promoter region of the gene was detected by methylation-specific PCR (MSP). The invasiveness of QBC939 cells was tested by transwell assay. It was found that the promoter region of the E-cadherin gene of QBC939 cells was hypermethylated. Valproate alone could not contribute to demethylation of the gene, whereas hydralazine could make them to be partly demethylated. However, the methylation status of the gene could be thoroughly reversed by using valproate and hydralazine in combination. What’s more, it was confirmed that the E-cadherin gene of QBC939 cells could not be transcriptionally reactivated by valproate alone, whereas hydralazine alone could induce moderate reexpression of the gene. However, the addition of valproate to hydralazine could result in robust reexpression of the E-cadherin gene (P = 0.000). Likewise, the invasiveness of the QBC939 cells was sharply decreased by treatment with two drugs in combination and slightly decreased with one drug alone. It could be concluded that the two drugs have synergistic effect on the demethylation and reexpression of the E-cadherin gene of QBC939 cells, and also on the reduction of the invasiveness of the QBC939 cells.

Objective To investigate the clinical features, pathological characteristics and immunophenotype of solid-pseudopapillary tumor of the pancreas(SPTP). Methods Nine surgically treated cases of SPTP were retrospectively reviewed. Hematoxylin and Eosin(HE) staining and immunohistochemical staining were used to analyze all cases, and the general clinical data was collected. Results Six patients were asymptomatic except for a palpable mass. Two patients complained of vague-epigastric pain. One patient appeared jaundice. The tumor was encapsulated and solid tissues alternately with cystic tissues. Histologically, the histological structure of solid portion was pseudopapillary with a fibrovascular core. Tumor cells were uniform and medium-sized which were arranged in sheets ets or nests or pseudopapillary patterns. Immunohistochemical studies demonstrated that SPTP proved positive in vimentin(9/9 cases), AAT(9/9 cases), NSE(9/9 cases), ACT(7/9 cases), CK20(2/9 cases), CgA(1/9 cases), S-100(3/9cases), PR(4/9cases), Syn(3/9 cases) and CD56(5/9cases), negative in CEA and ER. Conclusion SPTP is a tumor predominantly occurring in young women frequently without special symptoms. This tumor has various characteristical histological patterns with different immunophenotype.

To investigate the effect of Kiss-1 gene suppression on the metastatic capacity of HCT116 human colorectal carcinoma cells in vitro and the involvement of nuclear factor-κB (NF-κB) signaling pathway.A recombinant lentiviral vector of Kiss-1 gene pGC-LV-Kiss-1-EGFP or the empty vector was transfected in HCT116 cells. Cell Counting Kit-8 (CCK8) and Transwell chamber assay were used to detect the changes in cell proliferation, invasion and migration ability after the transfection. Western blotting was used to detect the expression of I-κB, the inhibitive protein of NF-κB signal pathway, and the expression of the downstream effector MMP-9 before and after transfection. In cells over-expressing Kiss-1, I-κB expression increased and MMP-9 expression decreased significantly compared to those in the blank control and vector-transfected cells (P0.05). Kiss-1 gene over-expression resulted in significant inhibition of HCT116 cell proliferation, invasion, and migration as compared to the control cells (P0.05).Lentivirus-mediated Kiss-1 gene over-expression can inhibit the proliferation, invasion, and migration of HCT116 cells via the NF-B signaling pathway.

According to the needs of emergency thematic cartography and the China's existing ‘Specification for the military symbols’, the types of situation symbols that may be used in emergency thematic cartography were summed up in this paper. A comprehensive modeling was raised for these situation symbols and it is flexible for emergency thematic cartography. There are four kinds of situation symbols: contour symbol, simple arrow symbols, single arrow symbols and combined arrow symbols in this paper. The position line of the symbols is a Bezier curve or a polyline. The oblique axis parabolic algorithm and the Hermite interpolation algorithm are selected for smoothing the position lines of the symbols. The Douglas-Peucker algorithm is picked out for scattering the position curve. At last, this paper developed a cartographic system based on the national fundamental geographic information, and realized the modeling and drawing of the situation symbols with the cartographic system.

The traditional methods for model absolute orientation of aerial imagery are mainly based on some ground control points whose three-dimensional co-ordinates are available and use highly accurate positioning algorithms or semi-automatically manual arrangement to locate them on the image plain. Usually, it is difficult to find some control point features in 3D-vector map using model absolute orientation of aerial imagery. However, the existed 3D vector map can provide sufficient details both on the maps and the images to ensure a lot of well-distributed and unchanged linear features can be used for absolute orientation of aerial imagery. In order to meet the requirements of quickly updating 3D-vector map, this paper will discuss a method for semi-automatic model absolute orientation by extracting some liner features from image and then matching with 3D line object in vector map. It can resolve the problem of model absolute orientation instead of using ground control points for quickly updating 3D vector map.
