East Nusa Tenggara is a province that has great natural wealth and tourism potential. The enthusiasm tourists to visit tourist objects in NTT is quite large, seen from the increase in tourist visits every year. The current phenomenon of tourism turmoil in NTT creates many opportunities as well as threats to the sustainability the sustainable tourism industry in the future. A gap like this creates opportunities for human resources in tourism sector increase economic contribution to the region. One strategy that can be implemented is to encourage more business actors in the tourism sector and develop the self-capacity of business actors who already exist in the world of tourism. Apart from that, it is also important to increase the capacity and professionalism of human resources for tourism and the creative economy, so that the competitiveness of tourism in NTT can also increase. In an effort to maximize the achievement these goals, human resources (HR) are needed who have the competence, knowledge, ability, productivity and good performance. Efforts to meet the objectives increasing the capacity and professionalism maximum tourism human resources involve self-efficacy and strong work involvement from within the business actors. This study aims to analyze Work Engagement and Self-Efficacy in Self-Development Business Actors in the Tourism Sector in NTT. The research was conducted by studying the phenomena and entrepreneurial behavior the tourism sector in Labuan Bajo (a tourist city with the highest tourist visit rate in NTT) and Timor Island (an area with the second highest tourist visit rate).

This study aims to determine and analyze how much the people of East Nusa Tenggara for consumption (clothing, food, shelter) before and after the Covid-19 pandemic and to find out three basic needs which are the biggest consumption needs from the people of East Nusa Tenggara. The research method used is descriptive quantitative analysis method. From the research results: 1) before and after the Covid-19 pandemic, the consumption (clothing, food, shelter) of the people of East Nusa Tenggara increased. 2) The largest consumption of the three basic needs (clothing, food, and shelter) is board consumption, amounting to 16,219 rupiah. What affects board consumption after the Covid-19 pandemic is being able to live comfortably alone and reduce the risk of meeting and coming into contact with other people (strangers).

Purpose: This study aims to 1) Identify and explore the concept of social entrepreneurship in NTT, 2) Explore communities and figures who carry out social entrepreneurship on Alor Island, Flores and Timor, and 3) Create social entrepreneurship models in the context of empowering local communities in NTT. Research Methodology: This research is descriptive, verification and explanatory, where this research is descriptive because it describes or takes pictures of the variables under study. The method used in this research is a qualitative method. The sampling technique used was nonprobality sampling, be in the form of snowball sampling. Finding: There are several forms of social entrepreneurship in East Nusa Tenggara. Based on the SWOT analysis and the IE matrix above, it can be said that social entrepreneurship in NTT is in the position of cell V. So the strategy used is defense and maintenance accompanied by market penetration and product development strategies. The empowerment-based social entrepreneur model in the context of NTT is a Hybrid model, where business organizations use business methods, but the end result is the creation of social value. Limitations: This research was only conducted in several areas in East Nusa Tenggara so that the depiction of social entrepreneurs in this study does not fully describe the models and potentials of social entrepreneurs in East Nusa Tenggara. Contribution: This research becomes scientific information for business management and entrepreneurship.

Abstract Purpose: This research is a form of raw material inventory planning using the Economic Order Quantity (EOQ) method for fried corn products at UMK Tiga Bersaudara Kupang City. Research Methodology: This research method used a quantitative approach. The data analysis technique used is forecasting, EOQ, and Safety Stock. Results: The outcome of this study is the creation of a raw material inventory that can be applied by the UMK Tiga Bersaudara in carrying out its production. The number of orders for raw materials has also been identified using the EOQ method. To avoid shortages of raw materials, a calculation of how much safety stock is needed in the next period has also been calculated. Limitation: This calculation is predictive so that the reality in the field can change in the future. Contribution: Companies are advised to plan raw material inventory using the methods used in this study, namely forecasting, EOQ, SS, and calculating the total cost of inventory.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh insentif terhadap kinerja pengemudi Grab Bike di Kota Kupang. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian asosiatif dengan menggunakan dengan menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menyebarkan kuesioner, melakukan observasi serta wawancara. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah regresi linear sederhana. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada para pengemudi Grab Bike di kota Kupang dengan sampel sebanyak 83 pengemudi. Hasil analisis data menunjukan bahwa Insentif berpengaruh positif terhadap kinerja pengemudi Grab Bike di kota Kupang. Temuan tersebut dapat menjadi bahan evaluasi manajemen Grab di Kota Kupang agar dapat menigkatkan program insentif bagi para pengemudi sehingga dapat mendorong pengemudi untuk berkinerja baik.

The purpose of this study is to describe the effect of double role conflict and psychological well-being on the performance of female nurses in S.K.Lerik Public Hospitals Kupang City. Research methodology: The study was conducted with a qualitative approach. Data collection was carried out by filling out the questionnaire by 38 female nurses who were sampled. Data processing is performed by multiple linear regression analysis. Results: The results of this study indicate the influence of dual role conflict variables and psychological well-being on the performance of female nurses in the S.K.Lerik Public Hospital Kupang City both partially and simultaneously. Limitations: This study only discusses the influence of multiple role conflict variables and psychological well-being on the performance of female nurses at the S.K.Lerik Regional Hospital in Kupang. Contribution: This research can be used as scientific information in the field of human resource management..

This study aims to find out how to describe and analyze the effect of flexible working arrangements on work-life balances on Resellers Online shop in Kupang City. The method used in research this is a survey method. The instrument used in This research is a questionnaire, interview, and documentation study. The population of this research is, online shop resellers in Kupang city who sell products / goods through Facebook. The sampling technique in this study uses amethod non probability sampling. The results showed that a flexible working arrangement can help balance work and personal life, especially for students, the private sector, employees and other work through descriptive analysis. While the results showed flexible working arrangements and a significant positive effect on the work-life balance on resellers online shop in the city of Kupang

Purpose: This study aimed to describe the modern dance commodification strategy in promoting cultural tourism in East Nusa Tenggara Province. Research methodology: The research method used in this research is a qualitative method. Respondents used in this study were 15 people. Data processing was performed using a SWOT analysis. Results: According to the analysis results, the most appropriate strategy for the modern dance community in developing cultural tourism in East Nusa Tenggara is to work together with various parties, create online competitions, innovate with culture, and organize independent events by the dancer community. Limitations: This study only discusses the strategy of the commodification of modern dance in tourism promotion in East Nusa Tenggara. Climate change will contribute to increasing the frequency and severity of natural disasters with negative impacts on human life. Although disasters and climate change affect all populations, the impact on each gender, in terms of vulnerability, ability, and resilience, will be different. The impact of disasters and climate change is certainly heavier on women and children because women will struggle more to overcome the effects and have limited access to resource management. This research questions how women are affected by climate change and natural disasters and how climate change impacts trade work. The findings suggested that a new approach is needed for climate change, disaster management, and gender equality. This study examines traditional culinary traders at Oesapa Color Beach, most of whom are women victims of high waves destroying their place for business.

Objective – Expectations for good performance from employees are inseparable from how companies determine certain systems or strategies to provide a balance between expected contributions and what has been given in the form of certain rewards or rewards to their employees. For that, the company must implement a system to improve employee performance, one of which is to implement a reward system. On the other hand, strategic changes in managing human resources leads to a holistic approach, in which organizational management not only emphasizes economic benefits or responsibilities, but also has legal, ethical, and responsibility to stakeholders. Spirituality at work has a relationship with work behavior in the form of job satisfaction, work performance, attitudes, work ethics, morals, and management. This study aims to prove the effect of Rewards on Organizational Commitment with Workplace Spirituality as a Moderating Variable. Methodology/Technique – This research was conducted on employees of the Kupang Tanaoba Lais Manekat (TLM) Credit Bank, with a total of 30 employees. Findings & Novelty – The results of the regression equation show that reward has a positive influence on organizational commitment. Where individuals include a feeling that satisfaction will be obtained if a job is successfully done through extrinsic rewards or compensation. Giving compensation is a strategic function of human resources that has a significant impact on other human resource functions. The compensation provided by the company must be felt fairly by employees. The MRA test results show that the regression coefficient of a moderate workplace spirituality variable has a negative effect, meaning that the workplace spirituality variable cannot be a moderating variable between appreciation and organizational commitment. This means that a lower spirituality workplace does not necessarily mean a lower reward for the organizational commitment of the employee. Type of Paper: Empirical. Objective - Cultural change in the economy has given rise to what might be called 'spiritual entrepreneurship'. The purpose of this paper is to explore the relationship between entrepreneurship and spirituality, even though these two terms are somewhat contradictory. Methodology/Technique - The sample in this study consists of 63 members of the Full Gospel Business Fellowship International (FGBMFI) which is a membership consisting of male businessmen who come from various churches with different business backgrounds. The method used in this study is descriptive analysis. The data was collected using a questionnaire that led to the excavation of information based on previous theoretical studies. The informant selection technique used in this research is accidental. Findings - The results of this study support the findings of previous research in the field of "Spirituality Workplace" and introduces a new model in the field of entrepreneurship. Novelty - Spirituality is a process of human reason in which individual's aim to reach and understand God. On the other hand, entrepreneurs are people who have the courage to take risks to create a business. Hence, in this study, spiritual entrepreneurs refers to people who run their business in line with the values of ethics and religion. Those entrepreneurs interpret their work as worship, honesty and gratitude in addition to usual entrepreneurial behavior (innovation, proactive, competitive aggressiveness, risk taking, autonomy). Public perception of the fulfillment of clean water needs will depend on a number of factors, including social, economic, cultural and community habits. This research was conducted in Nekmese Village in Kupang Regency, East Nusa Tenggara Province. This village is one of the villages that has not received good clean water services, even though this village has sufficient availability of clean water throughout the season. This study aims to examine the perception of rural communities in the provision of sustainable clean water. Data collection is done by observation and survey by interview and questionnaire. The results showed that 41% of respondents felt they were insufficient in providing clean water, while the other 59% felt they were insufficient. This fact is supported by the data on the use of clean water on average by 40 Lpcd. For the sustainability of clean water supply, the results of the study show positive perceptions from the community, but contrary to wasteful measures in water use, maintenance of water sources and participation in water supply in his village. This could be due to the low level of public education, and lack of hearing about information about clean water. The research recommends increasing the awareness and participation of the community in the provision of sustainable clean water.

The objects of this research were nonfinancial companies registered on Indonesian Stock Exchange with samples of 79 companies on 2010-2013 (including time lag). Data was analyzed usingPooled Least Square regression with Eviews software as the tool. Using 5% significancy level, this research implied that (1) excess cash had positive significant influence on firm performance, (2) insufficient cash had positive but no significant influence on firm performance, (3) excess cash had negative but no significant influence on market reaction, and (4) insufficient cash had negative significant influence on market reaction. These results implied that the market responded to insufficient cash more than excess cash in the companies and firm performance would be increasing because of excess cash due to the decrease of external financing cost.

The objective of the study about “Persepsi Nasabah Terhadap Pelayanan Frontliner (Studi Kasus Pada BPR TLM)” is to determine the effect of custumer perceptions based on attitude, motivation, and past experience on frontline service in BPR TLM. This study is using quantitative descriptive approach. This study is using primary data in the form of questionnaire distributed to 100 customers who made transaction at BPR TLM and also using accidental sampling method. The result of the questionnaire regarding frontliner services wer anayzed by multiple linear regression. The result shows that customer perceptions based on attitude, motivation and past experience have significant possitive effect on frontliner services on BPR TLM. This is caused fronliner services is in line with customer’s expectations, which is shown by officer fronliner attitude who are friendly and can serve customer’s needs well. The comfort waitng room and fashion style of the officer make the customers feel that frontliner services in BPR TLM is good.

Abstract On large diversified projects, it can be very difficult to get the various project stakeholders (i.e. departments, regional offices, owner representatives, engineering firms, contractors, and vendors) to use a "common language" to discuss project deliverables. As one of the first steps in implementing a common project language for a major worldwide offshore contractor, the authors facilitated and lead a corporate committee that developed and implemented a common Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) for all engineering, fabrication, and marine work performed at company facilities located around the world. The standard WBS has become the unifying element that ties the company operations, accounting, scheduling, and material management systems into a single project management system. Major benefits realized include reduced project management costs, tying together of cost and schedule management, and the ability to roll up cost and schedule performance for reporting purposes while retaining the capability to "drill down" to lower levels to determine the root source of project variances. Introduction As the quest for oil and gas drives the industry into deeper and deeper waters, the complexity and risks associated with offshore projects has increased dramatically over the last twenty years. In the late 1970's, a thousand-foot jacket and accompanying decks were considered the frontier of offshore development; today delivery systems for acreage in 10,000 feet of water are being developed that require new floating, subsea, riser, platform, and market delivery systems. To deliver these types of projects, a contractor must be able to assemble and coordinate a team for engineering, fabrication, and marine scopes of work. In addition, major specialty contractors, engineering consulting firms, and key vendors must be integrated seamlessly into a cohesive whole that is focused on delivering quality project deliverables at a competitive cost. Other key project stakeholders including owner representatives and regulating agencies must also be integrated into the team so that the finished project meets the needs of its owners and satisfies government regulations. Given the technical complexity of the project scopes and the communication challenges presented by such a diverse array of project participants, the contractor's project management group is faced with the dilemma of how to describe the project in terms that everyone from the corporate shareholder to the field worker can comprehend. The project management group must also develop budgets, report progress, and track actual costs for the described elements of the project. As Figure 1 (by Resource), Figure 2 (by System), Figure 3 (Traditional Accounting Breakdown), and Figure 4 (WBS) demonstrate, there are several ways of describing the project scope. In companies with regional offices, some offices may choose to report using Figure 3 while other offices may use Figure 4 to describe their portions of the same project. Which is the "best way" or the best practice for the contractor to identify and report on project scope?

This research executed in U-Pro Chapter Kupang, Full Gospel Businessmen’s FellowshipInternational (FGBMFI) Kupang with the total sample of 36 people. The result of the studysuggested that (1) Work Spitituality and Motivation in U-Pro Chapter Kupang are in acriterion of very high and very high. (2) Work Spirituality has positive influencesignificantly to Work Motivation at U-Pro Chapter Kupang. This could be seen in formula ofSimple Regression : Y = 14,30 + 0,906X. The the result proved that Work Spirituality had apositive impact significantly on Work Motivation by 0.67 or 67 %, the rest 33 % influenced byother factors.Keywords : Work Spirituality, Work Motivation

This study aims to determine the influence of reward on job satisfaction in PDAM Tirta Lontar,Kupang Regency. The method used in this study is a survey method with a quantitative approach.The sample in this study was taken using simple random sampling technique with Slovin method bytaking 67 respondents from the entire population. Primary data obtained by questionnaire filleddirectly by the respondent. The results of this study indicate that the reward is positive and significantwith a coefficient of 1.095 and a significance level of 0.000 < 0.05. Keywords: Job Satisfaction, Reward

BACKGROUND: Encapsulating cells prevents the immune destruction of allogeneic cells in the subcutaneous site as well as allogeneic and xenogeneic cells in the central nervous system. However, when encapsulated xenogeneic cells are implanted s.c., they may be subject to rejection by the host. METHODS: Murine C2C12 myoblasts engineered to secrete mouse erythropoietin (mEpo) were used to evaluate the response of control versus FK506-treated xenogeneic recipients (Fischer rats) to encapsulated myoblasts implanted in the s.c. site. RESULTS: Encapsulated C2C12 mEpo cells were rapidly eliminated in immunocompetent Fischer rats. Devices transplanted into nude rats induced a sustained increase in the hematocrit, associated with an extended viability of the encapsulated cells. Short-term immunosuppression with FK506, for periods lasting either 1, 2, or 4 weeks after implantation, permitted the long-term survival of encapsulated C2C12 mEpo cells in Fischer rats. Animals increased their hematocrits to more than 70% and maintained these levels for 13 weeks, independent of the duration of FK506 treatment. Unencapsulated C2C12 mEpo cells injected i.m. in immunosuppressed animals were rejected over this same period. CONCLUSIONS: Encapsulation alone cannot protect xenogeneic myoblasts from immune destruction in the s.c. site. These results highlight the importance of combining the technique of cell encapsulation with transient immunosuppression to achieve long-term survival of xenografted myoblasts in a peripheral immunoreactive site.

betaTC-tet cells are conditionally immortalized pancreatic beta cells which can confer long-term correction of hyperglycemia when transplanted in syngeneic streptozocin diabetic mice. The use of these cells for control of type I diabetes in humans will require their encapsulation and transplantation in non-native sites where relative hypoxia and cytokines may threaten their survival. In this study we genetically engineered betaTC-tet cells with the anti-apoptotic gene Bcl-2 using new lentiviral vectors and showed that it protected this cell line against apoptosis induced by hypoxia, staurosporine and a mixture of cytokines (IL-1beta, IFN-gamma and TNF-alpha). We further demonstrated that Bcl-2 expression permitted growth at higher cell density and with shorter doubling time. Expression of Bcl-2, however, did not inter- fere either with the intrinsic mechanism of growth arrest present in the betaTC-tet cells or with their normal glucose dose-dependent insulin secretory activity. Furthermore, Bcl-2 expressing betaTC-tet cells retained their capacity to secrete insulin under mild hypoxia. Finally, transplantation of these cells under the kidney capsule of streptozocin diabetic C3H mice corrected hyperglycemia for several months. These results demonstrate that the murine betaTC-tet cell line can be genetically modified to improve its resistance against different stress-induced apoptosis while preserving its normal physiological function. These modified cells represent an improved source for cell transplantation therapy of type I diabetes.

Allogeneic MHC-incompatible organ or cell grafts are usually promptly rejected by immunocompetent hosts. Here we tested allogeneic beta-islet cell graft acceptance by immune or naive C57BL/6 mice rendered diabetic with streptozotocin (STZ). Fully MHC-mismatched insulin-producing growth-regulated beta-islet cells were transplanted under the kidney capsule or s.c. Although previously or simultaneously primed mice rejected grafts, STZ-treated diabetic mice accepted islet cell grafts, and hyperglycemia was corrected within 2-4 weeks in absence of conventional immunosuppression. Allogeneic grafts that controlled hyperglycemia expressed MHC antigens, were not rejected for >100 days, and resisted a challenge by allogeneic skin grafts or multiple injections of allogeneic cells. Importantly, the skin grafts were rejected in a primary fashion by the grafted and corrected host, indicating neither tolerization nor priming. Such strictly extralymphatic cell grafts that are immunologically largely ignored should be applicable clinically.
