The hematological and biochemical profile during pregnancy provides information on the health of the body. Hematological and biochemical parameters during pregnancy were influenced by the pregnancy semester. Hematocrit showed large variations under the influence of the semester of pregnancy, semester II (32.04 ± 0.45) and semester III (40.57 ± 0.60). Glucose varied between (55.28 ± 0.83) in the first semester of pregnancy and (86.30 ± 2.19) in the third semester of pregnancy.

Donkey milk is used as an alternative source in the diet of young children and newborns due to the similar composition to breast milk. The donkey milk is considered to be a functional food by the chemical composition it presents, thus being beneficial in the nutrition of people suffering from food allergies. The chemical composition and antioxidant capacity of the donkey milk are significantly influenced by lactation and also by the lactation period. Donkey milk has a low fat content compared to other species and high lactose content. These parameters are influenced by the variables such as: lactation, animal age, and feeding. The presence of heavy metals in food in high quantities may pose a risk to the health of the consumer. Highly polluted areas, due to industry, cause high levels of metals in food from these areas. The present study showed that the sampling area influences the amount of heavy metals in pork meat. The Cd content of pork ranged from 0.26 mg/kg (Bistrita Nasaud) to 0.43 mg/kg (Salaj). The content of Al and Pb presented the highest average values from Sălaj and Cluj areas. Al showed a variation of 5.03 mg/kg in samples from Bistrita-Nasaud and 9.64 mg/kg from Sălaj.
