Discussions about the evidentiary value of sunnah, which started about a century and a half ago, arestill underway today. While some say that sunnah is not a source in religion, others continue to argue persuasively that sunnah is a religious source. Those who accept sunnah as a source in religion try to justify the fact that sunnah is proof by saying that sunnah is a revelation. Others claim that the revelation is peculiar to the Quran only. It is seen that these discussions, which also have an ideological dimension, will continue for a long time and similar views will often be brought to the agenda. In fact, it is noteworthythat the current debates were experienced in the same way in the past, especially in the first centuries after Hijra. For this reason, in this paper, it is aimed to draw a panorama of the debates on the source of sunnah by emphasizing the views on the relationship of sunnah with revelation in the first three centuries AH., Yaklaşık bir buçuk asır önce başlayan sünnetin hücciyeti ile ilgili tartışmalar günümüzde de yoğun bir şekilde yaşanmakta ve bazıları tarafından sünnetin dinde kaynak olmadığı ifade edilirken, bir kesim tarafından da sünnetin dinî bir kaynak olduğu hararetle savunulmaya devam etmektedir. Sünneti dinde bir kaynak olarak kabul edenler sünnetin vahye dayandığını söyleyerek sünnetin hücciyetini temellendirmeye çalışmaktadırlar. Diğerleri ise vahyin sadece Kur’ân’a mahsus olduğunu iddia etmektedirler. Sünnetin hücciyetini tamamen reddedenler bir yana sünnetin dinde kaynak olduğunu kabul edenler arasında bile sünnetin kaynağı konusunda tartışmalar yaşanmaktadır. Aslında günümüzde yaşanan tartışmaların geçmişte de özellikle ilk asırlarda aynı şekilde yaşandığı dikkat çekmektedir. Bu nedenle bu çalışmada ilk üç asırlık zaman diliminde sünnetin vahiyle ilişkisi konusunda ortaya çıkan görüşler üzerinde durularak sünnetin kaynağı konusundaki tartışmaların bir panoramasının çizilmesi hedeflenmiştir.

Difficult times in the history of humanity, such as global pandemics, global wars, ecological degradation, drought, poverty and unemployment, require not just leadership, but sustainable leadership. Inspired by the leadership model of Nelson Mandela, this article sought to tap into the resourcefulness of the missional reading of 2 Kings 2:1-18 and use the leadership model of prophet Elijah to unpack what it means to be a sustainable leader in the context of uncertainty. Relying upon literature analysis and a missional reading of 2 Kings 2:1-18, this article concluded that sustainable leadership, taking after the model of prophet Elijah, has five distinctive features, that is, human, missional, mentorship, management of transitions, and transformation. INTRADISCIPLINARY AND/OR INTERDISCIPLINARY IMPLICATIONS: This article investigates the issue of sustainable leadership in the context of uncertainties such as global pandemics, global wars, ecological degradation, among others. It contributes to the disciplines of missiology and missional hermeneutics, biblical theology, and sustainability theories, in particular issues of Christian leadership.

Time series ,Carbon dioxide ,Prophet ,Spline interpolation - Abstract
CO2 emissions have been an environmental issue for decades. The trigger for the increasing concentration of CO2 in the atmosphere is the growth of industries related to burning fossil fuels for coal, natural gas, and petroleum. For nearly a century, several attempts have been made to suppress the rapid growth of CO2 . This study uses daily atmospheric CO2 levels observed in Mauna Loa laboratories. The method used is a Prophet that can handle seasonality and mark the change points. Almost 20% of data was missing value, which was then imputed using spline interpolation. Based on the analysis results, CO2 levels have an upward trend throughout the year and seasonality. There is no point of change in the last ten years that shows a decrease in CO2 levels. Using forward chaining cross-validation evaluation and error measurement, the prophet model can follow the pattern of CO2 levels well. The average RMSE value is less than 2.0, with an MAPE value bellow 0.5%.

In the sociology of religion, it cannot be said that enough studies have been made on the concept of the prophet from a historical, and sociological perspective. Today, it is seen that most of the studies on the concept of the prophet are theology-centered. The concept of the Prophet certainly has a theological, historical and sociological dimension. The place of prophets in the birth and development of historically great religions is undeniable. Therefore, it is important in this context to consider the subject of prophecy from a social scientific perspective. The importance of prophecy as a historical phenomenon, especially in major religions such as Judaism, Christianity, and Islam, must be acknowledged. What the concept of prophecy means in these religions, the emergence of different prophet figures in different regions and times in history, and their relations with society are worth examining and necessary to understand religions in general and Abrahamic religions in particular. This study was carried out with the literature review technique, and it was seen that the concept of the prophet was not adequately addressed, especially in Western sociology of religion studies. For this reason, it is thought that examining the subject of prophecy from a historical and sociological perspective, clarifying the relationship between the prophet, history, and religion, and making an important contribution to the field of sociology of religion.

Demand forecasting for business practice is one of the biggest challenges of current business research. However, the discussion on the use of forecasting methods in business is still at the beginning. Forecasting methods are becoming more accurate. Accuracy is often the only criterion for forecasting. In the reality of business practice or management is also influenced by other factors such as runtime, computing demand, but also the knowledge of the manager. The goal of this article is to verify the possibilities demand forecasting using deep learning and statistical methods. Suitable methods are determined on based multi-criteria evaluation. Accuracy according to MSE and MAE, runtime and computing demand and knowledge requirements of the manager were chosen as the criteria. This study used univariate data from an e-commerce entity. It was realized 90-days and 365-days demand forecasting. Statistical methods Seasonal naive, TBATS, Facebook Prophet and SARIMA was used. These models will be compared with a deep learning model based on recurrent neural network with Long short-term memory (LSTM) layer architecture. The Python code used in all experiments and data is available on GitHub (https://github.com/mrnavrc/demand_forecasting). The results show that all selected methods surpassed the benchmark in their accuracy. However, the differences in the other criteria were large. Models based on deep learning have proven to be the worst on runtime and computing demand. Therefore, they cannot be recommended for business practice. As a best practice model has proven Prophet model developed at Facebook. Web of Science 18 8 141 123

This article endeavors to ascertain whether Plato may be regarded as a prophet. This involves defining what a prophet is and examining a number of literary sources in order to uncover the needed evidence and to make appropriate comparisons with known prophets from ancient times. Thus, this treatise includes evidence obtained from several classic texts, plus excerpts of Plato’s writings, life experiences, influence from Socrates, and Plato’s foreign travels. Also considered are biblical passages about prophets from the Old Testament. Thereby, a philosophical and theosophical investigation is undertaken to examine the extent to which Plato satisfies the criteria for being considered to have been a prophet in the classical sense.

Atmospheric particle pollution causes acute and chronic health effects. Predicting the concentrations of PM2.5 and PM10, therefore, is a prerequisite to avoid the consequences and mitigate the complications. This research utilized the machine learning (ML) models such as linear-support vector machine (L-SVM), medium Gaussian-support vector machine (M-SVM), Gaussian process regression (GPR), artificial neural network (ANN), random forest regression (RFR), and a time series model namely PROPHET. Atmospheric NOX, SO2, CO, and O3, along with meteorological variables from Dhaka, Chattogram, Rajshahi, and Sylhet for the period of 2013 to 2019, were utilized as exploratory variables. Results showed that the overall performance of GPR performed better particularly for Dhaka in predicting the concentration of both PM2.5 and PM10 while ANN performed best in case of Chattogram and Sylhet for predicting PM2.5. However, in terms of predicting PM10, M-SVM and RFR were selected respectively. Therefore, this study recommends utilizing “ensemble learning” models by combining several best models to advance application of ML in predicting pollutants’ concentration in Bangladesh. This article discusses the story of the Egyptian wife of Jeroboam in 1 Kings 14:1-18. Women are generally marginalized in the Old Testament-in most instances their names are not mentioned, words are not put in their mouths, their achievements are behind the scenes in the narratives. This article is interested in the discussion of the nameless and silent wife of Jeroboam. In the Masoretic (MT), the narrator did not name her despite the dominant and significant role she played in the narrative. However, in the Greek text (Account B), she is identified as "Ano, " the daughter of Pharaoh of Egypt. This paper argues that the silence of the wife of Jeroboam in the MT has great meaning and importance in the narrative-it signifies patience, obedience, humility, and self-control. She displayed these characteristics in the face of all the provocation from her husband and the prophecy of the death of her son from the Prophet Ahijah. The insistence that the prophets of the Hebrew Bible were “forthtellers, not foretellers” is ubiquitous in academic, liberal Christian, and even secular circles. It categorically denies that the prophets of ancient Israel predicted the future and characterizes them instead as voices of social critique. This article explains the origins of the phrase, its philosophical and religious underpinnings in Protestant, Enlightenment, Romantic, “scientific” and “modern” thought and traces its rhetorical usage in religious debate.

It has become widespread, not only among pastors and conference speakers but also among scholars such as Vern Poythress and John Frame, to utilize the threefold offices of Christ as a typology for church leadership. According to this application of the threefold office, different church leaders possess prophetic, priestly, and kingly capacities in differing degrees, and the most appropriate role for each leader depends on which of these capacities happens to be strongest. According to some proponents, the offices of prophet, priest, and king function as leadership personality types, with prophets identified as those leaders who are gifted as teachers, priests as those who care for people’s needs, and kings as planners and organizers. This article undertakes an exploration of these three leadership roles and contends that, though the munus triplex itself is a venerable and biblical structure, the appropriation of prophet, priest, and king as typological categories for church leadership is not. Through examination both of relevant Old Testament texts and of New Testament appropriations of these offices of leadership, it is demonstrated that the typological categorization of leaders as prophets, priests, or kings falls far short when it comes to biblical support. Particularly absent in Scripture is any clear identification of these offices with specific traits that different church leaders possess in differing degrees. Kingship and priesthood in particular are not individualized traits but a communal identity, shared by the whole people of God and grounded in union with Christ

Said Nursi makes the exalted claim that prophethood, especially that of Prophet Muḥammad, has a crucial, even central, role in God’s activity of creating. The Christian New Testament and Nicene Creed make similar exalted claims about Christ’s role in God’s creating of the universe. These statements can occasion shock, offense and misunderstanding among people outside these respective religious traditions. Both statements underscore that God’s activity of creating is purposeful, with that purpose being definitively expressed in these respective prophets and/or their messages. Apart from considerations of purpose, there is no creating. In that sense, prophethood and God’s activity of creating are intimately connected. Nursi’s approach can help Muslims and Christians understand their own, and one another’s, respective theological languages about the relationship between prophethood and God’s creating activity.

Versión Aceptada There is an increasing need for accurate groundwater level (GWL) prediction to support effective seasonal water management. It is desirable for forecasting tools to be not only accurate but also accessible for decision-makers. We test the Prophet forecasting procedure, an open source code released by Facebook, to address these challenges. It is based on an additive model considering non-periodic changes and periodic components in a Bayesian framework with easily-interpretable parameters. Predictions of daily GWL data in an area affected by pumping near a tourist complex in the Ramsar wetland area of Doñana (Spain) are compared to other forecasting methods. Prophet outperforms most methods in predicting GWL making it a fast and flexible forecasting tool for hydrologists and water managers. Furthermore, it allows gaining insight into the influence of each component of the forecast separately, helping to assess the hydrodynamic response to external drivers such as groundwater pumping. The Delphi method is one of the basic tools for forecasting values in various types of issues. It uses the knowledge of experts, which is properly aggregated (e.g., in the form of descriptive statistics measures) and returns to the previous group of experts again, thus starting the next round of forecasting. The multi-stage prediction under the Delphi method allows for better stabilization of the results, which is extremely important in the process of forecasting. Experts in the forecasting process often have access to time series forecasting software but do not necessarily use it. Therefore, it seems advisable to add to the aggregate the value obtained using forecasting software. The advantage of this approach is in saving the time and costs of obtaining a forecast. That should be understood as a smaller burden on data analysts and the value of their work. According to the above mentioned key factors, the main contribution of the article is the use of a virtual expert in the form of a computer-enhanced mathematical tool, i.e., a programming library for a forecasting time series. The chosen software tool is the Prophet library&mdash, a Facebook tool that can be used in Python or R programming languages.

The text of Isaiah 5 describes a rapidly changing society in 8th-century BCE Judah. This shift is driven by forces such as increased international trade, the clash of urbanisation and agrarianism, and the rise of the urban elites. These changes have direct correlation with the transforming economic environment of that period. Yet scholars have paid little attention to the economic realities reflected in the message of the prophet Isaiah. This article explores the context of Isaiah 5 through an engagement with economic theory. While recognising the dilemmas in the adoption of tools from contemporary economic theory to analyse an ancient society, this article utilises game theory to shed light on the historical and cultural background to the text. By applying the ‘prisoner’s dilemma’ it explores the ‘deal’ being offered by the prophet to the Judahite leaders in Isaiah 5: 8–24. In particular, the article looks at rational choice and the self-interested basis of decision-making to draw insights from the text by highlighting the conflicts of interest for the wealthy elite of Isaiah 5.Intradisciplinary and/or interdisciplinary implications: This research relates to the disciplines of Old Testament Studies and Economic Theory. The focus is applying economic theory to the biblical text of Isaiah 5.

For archaic and classical Greek authors, poetic creation as a process associates divine inspiration, which implies near communication with superior entities such as the Muses, and crafty technique. And yet, even among some modern philologists, a widespread doxa exclusively relates poiêsis to inspiration as ecstasy and possession and considers it a typical feature of Greek “civilisation”. Along with the irrational nature often assigned to the seer’s and prophet’s activities, the here crucial possessive – locative interpretation of the adjective ἔνθεος by Plato was reinforced by a retrospective illusion staging Plato’s Socrates not only as the inventor of “philosophy”, but also, often with irony, of “enthusiasm”, in the frequently mystical modern meaning. This study examines some strategic moments of this progressive invention and of its theoretical and historiographical effects.

The translators of the Shona Union Bible of 1950, which happens to be the commonly used version of the Bible among the Shona of Zimbabwe, did not translate the word "prophet". Instead, they chose to transliterate it. This choice is rather strange, considering the key role of this office in any religion. Other recent translations have offered Shona translations of this term. The reception of the new translations has been mixed, and many Shona Bible readers still prefer the 1950 Shona Union Bible. What were the possible reasons for the early missionaries' decision to leave the term untranslated? How could this term best be translated? This paper attempts to answer these questions. It takes seriously the politics of Bible translation as has already been observed by scholars in the sphere of Bible translation. The paper considers the Hebrew world of the term, and then explores the Shona (African) religious worldview to seek possible offices that could be compared to the Hebrew prophet. The paper concludes that svikiro was the right term to translate the term prophet.

Pope John Paul II understood the mission of the Church to be a participation in the priestly, prophetic, and royal mission of Christ. This essay follows the development of this understanding from his time as Archbishop of Cracow though to Evangelium vitae. It examines, in particular, evangelization and its relationship to the threefold mission. It traces its development through his integration of the teaching of Lumen gentium on the threefold office of Christians and the teaching on evangelization in Evangelii nuntiandi. Noting that the Lineamenta of the Synod on New Evangelization makes little reference to the threefold office, it, finally, offers some ideas as to how we might develop our understanding of the threefold mission and apply it to ‘new evangelization.’

This essay will examine reports of prophetic dreaming by a mid-sixteenth-century Catholic servant, eventually hanged for predicting the death of Henry VIII and in the process implicating such powerful men as Bishop John Fisher. It will then consider at greater length, in relation to the fatality of dreaming, two contemporaneous literary dream-texts by the prose writer Thomas Nashe and the poet William Shakespeare, who display by different generic means the aura of fear and consequence still enveloping dreams in 1595. l will take hold of one thread that runs through the period’s theatrical representation: the fearful idea that souls are not securely fixed in individual, nameable and placeable bodies, and that neither the border of the body nor the border of bodily life are stable from the point of view of early modern dream and vision. A matching and related fear is traceable in Nashe’s Terrors, the fear of oneiric error, wandering across borders usually experienced as rigid and definitive. Here on the border of modernity, the two writers help us see the psychological and political stakes of crediting or rejecting dream – costly either way.

In order for ontology-based applications to be deployed in real-life scenarios, significant volumes of data are required to populate the underlying models. Populating ontologies manually is a time-consuming and error-prone task and, thus, research has shifted its attention to automatic ontology population methodologies. However, the majority of the proposed approaches and tools focus on analysing natural language text and often neglect other more appropriate sources of information, such as the already structured and semantically rich sets of Linked Data. The paper presents PROPheT, a novel ontology population tool for retrieving instances from Linked Data sources and subsequently inserting them into an OWL ontology. The tool, to the best of our knowledge, offers entirely novel ontology population functionality to a great extent and has already been positively received according to user evaluation.

4th World Conference on Educational Sciences (WCES) -- FEB 02-05, 2012 -- -- Univ Barcelona, Barcelona, SPAIN, WOS: 000314465904125, While the writer Allan Megill, mentioning in his book Nietzsche, Heidegger, Foucault and Derrida has labeled them, "Prophets of Extremity", by referring radicality of their attack on normal canons of rationality". It is not important for me whether this labeling is true or false. However, inspired by this labeling, I will call Socrates, "the prophet of lifelong learning". Socrates, who left no written work and only expressed his thoughts verbally, is probably the most ambiguous thinker in the history of philosophy. This is called the "Socratic problem" in that he has been defined in a vast variety of etiquettes such as sophist, or elitist or even hedonist. His ambiguous identity has prevented us to settle the debate about "who is the real Socrates?" However after so many historical studies and philosophic investigations on Socrates now we have come to understand and identify him more accurately. When we try to understand this majestic figure in a more holistic and humanist approach and try to place him in contemporary developments in education, it seems reasonable to label Socrates as "the prophet of lifelong learning". Like the sophists Socrates put forth a human centered view by arguing that human beings are the only imperfect beings in the universe and yet has the ability to develop into perfection. For Socrates, human being comes to being as an imperfect entity, yet by lifelong learning mankind can reach to a level of self-fulfilment and completeness. Socrates called his conduct as "philosophy" and himself as a "philosopher" in a way that suggested learning is an unceasing search for knowledge without any regard to finding the right action or reaching an end. Therefore the process of human development goes on and on till death. No one except Socrates deserves to be labeled as "the prophet of lifelong learning" since neither his antecedents nor his descendants insisted on learning as a process of search as much as he did. Delay tolerant networks (DTNs) are a type of emerging mobile wireless network that experience long delays, intermittent disruption, buffer space and energy limitations, node irregularities and frequent mobility. To this end, many protocols take advantage of the flooding mechanism to increase the probability of successful message transmission. However, sending too many copies of each message may result in large network overhead and communication cost. Based on the Spray and Wait (S&W) algorithm, we propose an improved Adaptive Spray and Wait scheme, named ASW, for different delay tolerant network scenes. In this paper, we define a hybrid utility metric combined with multiple variables, delivery probability and similarity. Then, we distribute message copies in accordance with the proportion of the utility value to optimize the delivery ratio. Extensive simulations have been conducted to verify the efficiency of our proposed algorithm. In addition to the comparison, the results also show that our proposed algorithm achieves a better performance in terms of the delivery ratio and average latency than the other three protocols

This thesis explores the foundation of modern Disruption Tolerant Protocols. It introduces a previously unpublished protocol with high probability of delivery called the Geolocation Assisted Predictive Routing (GAPR) Protocol and implements Vector Routing for The ONE Simulator. GAPR and Vector are then combined and implemented as GAPR2, a new protocol that provides delivery ratio near the best in the field while incurring a quarter of the overhead. GAPR2, GAPR, and Vector, along with the most widely referenced DTN routing protocols (Epidemic, MaxProp, and PRoPHETv2) are extensively simulated and their performance evaluated using three mobility models: the Helsinki scenario, a random mobility model, and a military scenario based on a real-world annual exercise. The custom-built military mobility model uses GIS topographical data and custom GIS overlays to implement a realistic scenario terrain. The performance of each protocol is evaluated. This thesis shows through simulation that DTN networks can be employed to enhance communications capabilities without expensive infrastructure or significant platform upgrades. Further, this thesis shows through large-scale simulations that such a network is capable of operating over hundreds of square kilometers and provides the simulation framework to test future routing protocols or equipment configurations. http://archive.org/details/gaprdtnroutingpr1094547288 Lieutenant, United Stated Navy Approved for public release; distribution is unlimited.

The Legend, the Madman, and the Prophet is a memoir about fathers and sons, about the experience of being a son of a man of the Rocky Mountains, a legend grown old. The narrative centers around my struggle with the fact that my father had grown old and sick while I was still young, and my consequent search for other fathers, employing two primary examplesa martial-arts instructor from my high-school years who was later exposed as a pedophile, and the eccentric figure of my ex-girlfriends wealthy and traditional Egyptian-American father. The memoir relates the story of my fathers impact on my perception of manhood, my own experience with depression in the wake of his death, and the story of a spiritual search he began in me, which led me from my boyhood Mormonism toward eventual conversion to Islam. This is a story about fathers and sons, about what it means to lose a father, to want a father, and to learn to be a father to myself.

This article tries to analyze Assia Djebar’s goal in writing “Far from the Medina” in 1991, the year Algeria was ablaze and when fundamental Moslems were signing the death sentence for everyone. “Far from the Medina’’ is characterized by its inter textuality (the text is attached to Tabari and Ibn Saad’s chronicles) by its desire of invention and fiction pushed to the limits of credibility. In these chronicles retracing the prophet’s life and especially the moment of his death and the talks related to his succession, the women who looked after the Messenger’s body until burial, are mystified. Once the prophet enshrouded these women (wives, daughter, freed servants…..) were transformed to shadows of history. It is no longer a question of recognizing their single role in the disastrous events following the Prophet’s disappearance. Good in her role as historian, and her Itihad willpower, Assia Djebar takes the place of a historical narrator, bringing the women to life gives them back their memory and makes them enter the story ,to which they were previously banished , completely. The prophetic ‘Sira’, way of life, does n’t it emanate firstly from his young wife, widowed at 19, Aicha, mother of believers, who passes it on to posterity ? The voice of revolt hasn’t it been traced by his favourite daughter, Fatima, who succeeded in escaping from polygamy and who victim of escheat, refused to survive her father ?It is by listening to the voices, the multiple Rawiyates voice, and even certain Moslem women’s poetry or others that the reader closes the book .From then on he has another vision of the Story. This Story whose first actors were women that some ill disposed chroniclers have altered and disfigured to reduce these women to silence and resignation.

Speculative multithreading (SpMT) is a thread-level automatic parallelization technique that can accelerate sequential programs, especially for irregular applications that are hard to be parallelized by conventional approaches. Thread partition plays a critical role in SpMT. Conventional machine learning-based thread partition approaches applied machine learning to offline guide partition, but could not explicitly explore the law between partition and performance. In this paper, we build a parametric model (Qinling) with a multiple regression method to discover the inherent law between thread partition and performance. The paper firstly extracts unpredictable parameters that determine the performance of thread partition in SpMT; secondly, we build a parametric model Qinling with extracted parameters and speedups, and train Qinling offline, as well as apply it to predict the theoretical speedups of unseen applications. Finally, validation is done. Prophet, which consists of an automatic parallelization compiler and a multi-core simulator, is used to obtain real speedups of the input programs. Olden and SPEC2000 benchmarks are used to train and validate the parametric model. Experiments show that Qinling delivers a good performance to predict speedups of unseen programs, and provides feedback guidance for Prophet to obtain the optimal partition parameters.

36. Shaman, Sage, Priest, Prophet and Magician: Exploring the Architecture of the Religious Wise Man

Religion ,Wisdom ,Archetype ,Magician ,Wise Man ,Prophet ,Shaman ,Priest ,Sage - Abstract
Little attention has been given to the archetype of the wise old man, both by Carl G. Jung and by contemporary scholars indebted to his methodology. This is especially relevant when compared to other common Jungian archetypes such as the ‘hero’, the ‘mother’ and the ‘trickster.’ As such, the wise man can be viewed as a neglected or overlooked figure whose image is so familiar and recognisable that his purpose and representations have not currently received the depth of analysis and explanation that has been given to other archetypal images. This thesis identifies the religious wise man as an important figure within the contexts of culture and religion. Its aim is to not only to explore the ‘archetype’ of the wise man, but to go beyond that rather superficial – and indeed, academically problematic – notion, and determine what I term the ‘architecture’ of the wise man. This architecture consists of the structural elements (social, institutional, historical) and identifiers (costume, calling, education), that separate the wise man, and in particular the religious wise man, from other male ‘archetypal’ figures. In using the term ‘architecture’ I aim to identify the arrangement of concrete elements and characteristics - rather than psychological or inner ‘essences’ - which are significant in the construction and maintenance of the religious wise man figure in specific cultural contexts. The dissertation presents five possible categories of the religious wise man - the shaman, sage, priest, prophet and magician – identifying common elements and distinguishing features that may then be redesigned and adapted in different and unique forms appropriate to each manifestation of the religious wise man. Once these key characteristics are identified, they create a schema that can be employed to classify a range of religious wise man figures into the appropriate category.

This essay focuses on and analyzes the role of prophet that Bartolome de las Casas (1485–1566) lived out in the conquest and settlement of the New World. Borrowing a great deal from a shorter essay written years ago by Stafford Poole on the history and nature of prophets, we examine how Las Casas’s life mirrored so many of the qualities and characteristics of the prophet, especially those of the Old Testament. It is part of our general argument that one can only truly understand the life of Las Casas, often described as the greatest defender of American Indians (the “indigenous” in today’s jargon), by placing him squarely within the Scriptural prophetic tradition that drove both is thinking and his actions. This is a “Critical Essay” and it was originally delivered as a public lecture.

On June 27, 1844, Joseph Smith, the founder of The Church of Jesus Christ ofLatter-day Saints, was assassinated. In the wake of his death, a number of would-besuccessors emerged. Each of these leaders - part of what I call the second propheticgeneration - established a unique vision of Mormonism. In 1844, Mormonism was in the middle of a major shift in its character. JosephSmiths death left numerous theological and practical questions unresolved. This thesis argues that, rather than merely a succession struggle of competition and power, a principal function of the second prophetic generation in Mormonism was to respond to Joseph Smiths innovations and to forge alternate coherent (re-)interpretations of the Mormon faith that could continue into the future without access to the original prophet. Two major issues that required reframing in a post-Smith world were issues ofdomesticity and marriage and hierarchical structure. One or both of these issues areconsidered in the thought of four second-generation prophets: Alpheus Cutler, William Smith, Charles Thompson, and Lyman Wight. Their response to these questions, ultimately, resulted in distinct traditions within the Mormon movement.

Priestly function ,Prophet ,Indian context ,Priest and priesthood ,Public - Abstract
The focus is on ministerial priesthood. It is difficult to combine institutional priesthood and the prophetic function These roles can be combined in the living out of the Eucharist, which is more than a cultic celebration of the Mass. Sharing in the priesthood of Christ is through sharing in His self-sacrificing mission. Being one with Christ makes the priest one with people. A priest is a public person, with priesthood claiming the totality of his human person. The power and authority that a priest has comes from his self-emptying like Christ. Important characteristics of priestly service in the Indian context are spelt out.

Three models of priesthood - sacerdos, builder and leader of the Christian community, and prophet of God’s kingdom - are elucidated. Opting for the third model, the challenges that priests face are presented: globalization, atheism, freedom, fellowship and communion, justice, peace, joy and ecology. The steps needed to be taken to meet these challenges are also proposed.

History ,prophethood ,Arts and Humanities ,judeo-christian ,rodsman ,joseph smith ,prophet ,seer - Abstract
Joseph Smith Junior, founder of the Mormon faith, presented himself to America and the world as a prophet with the same powers as the widely known prophetic figures of the Bible. Like Moses and Elijah, he made God's will known to humankind. Before assuming this role, Smith had used divining rods and then seer stones to find underground water, buried treasure, lost items, and stray livestock. This thesis charts Joseph Smith's progression from rodsman to seer to prophet. For the most part, I present Joseph Smith's divinatory development as he himself experienced it. Dowsing with a rod, seeing things in stones, and receiving heavenly revelations were as real to Smith as harvesting wheat. In order to understand his progression from rodsman to seer to prophet, one must first understand his worldview. The mental universe of early American water witches and village seers forms one of the historical and cultural contexts in which Joseph Smith developed his divinatory abilities.

Psychology. Religion ,lcsh:BP1-253 - Abstract
Abstract : This paper tries to reveal the concept of ma 'rifa developed by Ibn al-'Arabi (d. 1260), especially in his magnum opus, Fusiis al-Hikam, the late work considered to be the synthesis of his doctrine of metaphysics represented through the wisdom of each prophet; their uniqueness of divinely inspired and their epitome of spiritual perception, concerning the knowledge of God. It shows the transformative role of the prophet's messages involving in the deeper creative process of divine-human dialogue, calling and response, that is repeatedly mentioned in the Qur’an. Ibn ‘Arabi emphasized the importance of perceiving the direct relationship between all of creation and the divine Names and Attributes (al-asmā’ wa-l-sifāt al-ilāhiyyah), between creation as outward manifestation and as inward spiritual awareness (rūh). Everything that exists and is experienced in reality is the manifestation (tajallī) of different divine Names. Keywords : Ma’rifa, signs, self, words, prophet, immutable archetypal individual entity (‘ayn thābita), divine self-manifestation (tajalli).

Traditional wireless networks use the concept of the point-to-point forwarding inherited from reliable wired networks which seems to be not ideal for wireless environment. New emerging applications and networks operate mostly disconnected. So-called Delay-Tolerant networks (DTNs) are receiving increasing attentions from both academia and industry. DTNs introduced a store-carry-and-forward concept solving the problem of intermittent connectivity. Behavior of such networks is verified by real models, computer simulation or combination of the both approaches. Computer simulation has become the primary and cost effective tool for evaluating the performance of the DTNs. OPNET modeler is our target simulation tool and we wanted to spread OPNET’s simulation opportunity towards DTN. We implemented bundle protocol to OPNET modeler allowing simulate cases based on bundle concept as epidemic forwarding which relies on flooding the network with messages and the forwarding algorithm based on the history of past encounters (PRoPHET). The implementation details will be provided in article.

While the resources of early three centuries A.H include rarely The Narrative of Guraba, it has been attracted attention that the later period resources contain it rather frequently. We have a opinion that this narrative -apart from its weak from the perspective of isnad- is not word of the Prophet in point of its text

In addition to offering a new interpretation of hadis that allows violence in the prayer education also shows that the main spirit as the practice of the prophet is prioritizing education by wise and gentle demeanor, not violence. Here it is also proved that, in practice, the Prophet never used force in educating his Companions, but rather gently proved and profound influence in the their souls.
