Clearing has been an important part of the banking system and will always remain a part of it for years to come. Clearing in banking indicates the transfer of fund from one person to another. This clearing of fund can take place in 2 ways either through cash or through cheque. There has been no major change in the cash transactions except for the changes in value of money. However the cheque clearing system has undergone lot of changes. The origin of cheque can be traced back to the first century AD, where banks in and around Persia used to issue letters of credit called “Sakks” wherein the banks used to pay the identified payees as per the instructions. This eliminated the cumbersome process of carrying money or gold which was very risky. Changes have taken place in cheque clearing over the period of time. From ordinary cheque clearing to MICR clearing and finally to the latest in clearing ‘Cheque Truncation System’. This is a conceptual paper which tries to explore the changes that have taken place in the bank clearing system in the past and speaks about the present system of cheque clearing the Cheque Truncation System

Purpose: Electronic payments have grown in significance after the demonetization and the more recent Covid-19 aftermath. This paper focuses on the various electronic payments available in the banking industry at present and also analyzes the various factors that influence customers regarding their usage. Design/ Methodology/ Approach: We try to analyze the various factors that customers find important through a questionnaire. We use the SPSS software to analyze the data and use the principal factor analysis in it to narrow down the most important factors among them. Findings/ Results: This paper gives a ready reckoner to the researchers or the readers about the various factors that are important to the customers for usage of electronic payments. An ABCD analysis is done to emphasize the reader clearly differentiate between the different electronic payment modes and their uses or shortcomings if any. Originality: Strengths of each one of these electronic payment modes are seen against its weakness. A comparison of sorts is done in this paper to find out which particular electronic payment mode is better. Type of Paper: Conceptual paper to know the various advantages, benefits, constraints, and disadvantages and also an empirical paper to find out the principal factors in its usage.

This research paper examines the holiday effects presence on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), which is a major Indian stock exchange. Textile and clothing industry in India is one of the most important producers in the world, but also the second exporter of textile and apparels globally. The empirical analysis investigates the impact of holiday effect on the development of textile and clothing industry in India. The holiday effect is one of the most important calendar anomalies identified in the financial markets. The methodological approach includes the non-parametric Mann-Whitney U-test used to test the equality of means for different sub-sets. The findings revealed that the mean returns for pre-holiday and post holidays were greater compared to that of remaining days, but the empirical results showed that they were not statistically significant for selected stocks of BSE based on daily stock returns data for Ruby Mills and Mafatlal Industries
