Search

We study here the inverse problem of starting from the femtoscopic correlation functions of related channels and analyze them with an efficient tool to extract the maximum information possible on the interaction of the components of these channels, and the existence of possible bound states tied to this interaction. The method is flexible enough to accommodate non-molecular components and the effect of missing channels relevant for the interaction. We apply the method to realistic correlation functions for the $D^{*+}D^0$ and $D^{*0}D^+$ channels derived consistently from the properties of the $T_{cc}(3875)^+$ and find that we can extract the existence of a bound state, its nature as a molecular state of the $D^{*+}D^0$ and $D^{*0}D^+$ channels, the probabilities of each channel, as well as scattering lengths and effective ranges for the channels, together with the size of the source function, all of them with a relatively good precision.

We have studied the contribution of the state $X(3930)$, coming from the interaction of the $D \overline{D}$ and $D^{+}_s D^{-}_s$ channels, to the $B^- \to K^- J/ψω$ decay. The purpose of this work is to offer a complementary tool to see if the $X(3930)$ state observed in the $D^+ D^-$ channel is the same or not as the $X(3960)$ resonance claimed by the LHCb collaboration from a peak in the $D^{+}_s D^{-}_s$ mass distribution around threshold. We present results for what we expect in the $J/ψω$ mass distribution in the $B^- \to K^- J/ψω$ decay and conclude that a clear signal should be seen around $3930\,\rm MeV$. At the same time, finding no extra resonance signal at $3960\,\rm MeV$ would be a clear indication that there is not a new state at $3960\,\rm MeV$, supporting the hypothesis that the near-threshold peaking structure peak in the $D^{+}_s D^{-}_s$ mass distribution is only a manifestation of a resonance below threshold., 15 pages; 10 figures; new version with improved discussion related to available experimental results

We study the $d^2 Γ_d /(dωd\cosθ_d) $, $dΓ_d /d\cosθ_d$ and $ dΓ_d /dE_d $ distributions, which are defined in terms of the visible energy and polar angle of the charged particle from the $τ-$decay in $b\to c τ\, (μ\bar ν_μν_τ,πν_τ,ρν_τ) \barν_τ$ reactions. The first two contain information on the transverse tau-spin, tau-angular and tau-angular-spin asymmetries of the $H_b\to H_cτ\barν_τ$ parent decay and, from a dynamical point of view, they are richer than the commonly used one, $d^2 Γ_d /(dωdE_d) $, since the latter only depends on the tau longitudinal polarization. We pay attention to the deviations with respect to the predictions of the standard model (SM) for these new observables, considering new physics (NP) operators constructed using both right- and left-handed neutrino fields, within an effective field-theory approach. We present results for $Λ_b\toΛ_cτ\, (μ\bar ν_μν_τ,πν_τ,ρν_τ)\barν_τ$ and $\bar B \to D^{(*)}τ\, (μ\bar ν_μν_τ,πν_τ,ρν_τ) \barν_τ$ sequential decays and discuss their use to disentangle between different NP models. In this respect, we show that $dΓ_d /d\cosθ_d$, which should be measured with sufficiently good statistics, becomes quite useful, especially in the $τ\to πν_τ$ mode. The study carried out in this work could be of special relevance due to the recent LHCb measurement of the lepton flavor universality ratio ${\cal R}_{Λ_c}$ in agreement with the SM. The experiment identified the $τ$ using its hadron decay into $π^-π^+π^-ν_τ$, and this result for ${\cal R}_{Λ_c}$, which is in conflict with the phenomenology from the $b$-meson sector, needs confirmation from other tau reconstruction channels., 20 latex pages, 10 figures, 5 tables, presentation of figures 3 and 4 has changed, new comments and a new reference added

Since the $\nu_\tau(\bar\nu_\tau) A_Z \to \tau^\mp X$ reaction is notoriously difficult to be directly measured, the information on the dynamics of this nuclear process should be extracted from the analysis of the energy and angular distributions of the tau decay visible products. These distributions depend on the components of the tau-polarization vector. We give, for the first time, the general expression for the outgoing hadron (pion or rho meson) energy and angular differential cross section for the sequential $\nu_\tau A_Z \to \tau^-(\pi^- \nu_\tau, \rho^-\nu_\tau) X$ and $\bar\nu_\tau A_Z \to \tau^+(\pi^+ \bar\nu_\tau, \rho^+ \bar\nu_\tau) X$ reactions. Though all possible nuclear reaction mechanisms contribute to the distribution, it may be possible to isolate/enhance one of them by implementing appropriate selection criteria. For the case of the quasi-elastic reaction off oxygen and neutrino energies below 6 GeV, we show that the pion distributions are sensitive to the details of the tau-polarization components. We find significant differences between the full calculation, where the longitudinal and transverse components of the tau polarization vector vary with the energy and the scattering angle of the produced tau, and the simplified scheme in which the polarizations are set to one and zero (respective asymptotic values in the high energy regime). In addition to its potential impact on neutrino oscillation analyses, this result can be used to further test different nuclear models, since these observables provide complementary information to that obtained by means of the inclusive nuclear weak charged-current differential cross section. We also study the effects on the cross section of the $W_4$, $W_5$ nuclear structure functions, which contributions are proportional to the charged lepton mass, and therefore difficult to constrain in muon and electron neutrino experiments., Comment: 11 pages, 5 figures. We study the behaviour of the $��_{c1}(3872)$, also known as $X(3872)$, in dense nuclear matter. We begin from a picture in vacuum of the $X(3872)$ as a purely molecular $(D \bar D^*-c.c.)$ state, generated as a bound state from a heavy-quark symmetry leading-order interaction between the charmed mesons, and analyze the $D \bar D^*$ scattering $T-$matrix ($T_{D \bar D^*}$) inside of the medium. Next, we consider also mixed-molecular scenarios and, in all cases, we determine the corresponding $X(3872)$ spectral function and the $D \bar D^*$ amplitude, with the mesons embedded in the dense environment. We find important nuclear corrections for $T_{D \bar D^*}$ and the pole position of the resonance, and discuss the dependence of these results on the $D \bar D^*$ molecular component in the $X(3872)$ wave-function. These predictions could be tested in the finite-density regime that can be accessed in the future CBM and PANDA experiments at FAIR.

In the context of lepton flavor universality violation (LFUV) studies, we fully derive a general tensor formalism to investigate the role that left- and right-handed neutrino new-physics (NP) terms may have in $b\to c ��\bar��_��$ transitions. We present, for several extensions of the Standard Model (SM), numerical results for the $��_b\to��_c��\bar��_��$ semileptonic decay, which is expected to be measured with precision at the LHCb. This reaction can be a new source of experimental information that can help to confirm, or maybe rule out, LFUV presently seen in $\bar B$ meson decays. The present study analyzes observables that can help in distinguishing between different NP scenarios that otherwise provide very similar results for the branching ratios, which are our currently best hints for LFUV. Since the $��$ lepton is very short-lived, we consider three subsequent $��$-decay modes, two hadronic $����_��$ and $����_��$ and one leptonic $��\bar��_����_��$, which have been previously studied for $\bar B\to D^{(*)}$ decays. Within the tensor formalism that we have developed in previous works, we re-obtain the expressions for the differential decay width written in terms of visible (experimentally accessible) variables of the massive particle created in the $��$ decay. There are seven different $��$ angular and spin asymmetries that are defined in this way and that can be extracted from experiment. Those asymmetries provide observables that can help in constraining possible SM extensions., 43 latex pages, 4 figures, 2 tables, a few errata corrected and new comments added. For a general $H_b\to H_c��\bar��_��$ decay we analyze the role of the $��$ polarization vector ${\cal P}^��$ in the context of lepton flavor universality violation studies. We use a general phenomenological approach that includes, in addition to the Standard Model (SM) contribution, vector, axial, scalar, pseudoscalar and tensor new physics (NP) terms which strength is governed by, complex in general, Wilson coefficients. We show that both in the laboratory frame, where the initial hadron is at rest, and in the center of mass of the two final leptons, a $\vec {\cal P}$ component perpendicular to the plane defined by the three-momenta of the final hadron and the $��$ lepton is only possible for complex Wilson coefficients, being a clear signal for physics beyond the SM as well as time reversal (or CP-symmetry) violation. We make specific evaluations of the different polarization vector components for the $��_b\to��_c$, $\bar B_c\to��_c,J/��$ and $\bar B\to D^{(*)}$ semileptonic decays, and describe NP effects in the complete two-dimensional space associated with the independent kinematic variables on which the polarization vector depends. We find that the detailed study of ${\cal P}^��$ has great potential to discriminate between different NP scenarios for $0^-\to 0^-$ decays, but also for $��_b \to ��_c$ transitions. For this latter reaction, we pay special attention to corrections to the SM predictions derived from complex Wilson coefficients contributions., 34 latex pages, 10 figures, 1 table. We apply the general formalism derived in N. Penalva et al. [Phys. Rev. D 101, 113004 (2020)] to the semileptonic decay of pseudoscalar mesons containing a $b$ quark. While present $B\to D^{(*)}$ data give the strongest evidence in favor of lepton flavor universality violation, the observables that are normally considered are not able to distinguish between different new physics (NP) scenarios. In the above reference we discussed the relevant role that the various contributions to the double differential decay widths $d^2��/(d��d\cos��_\ell)$ and $d^2��/(d��dE_\ell)$ could play to this end. Here $��$ is the product of the two hadron four-velocities, $��_\ell$ is the angle made by the final lepton and final hadron three-momenta in the center of mass of the final two-lepton system, and $E_\ell$ is the final charged lepton energy in the laboratory system. The formalism was applied there to the analysis of the $��_b\to��_c$ semileptonic decay showing the new observables were able to tell apart different NP scenarios. Here we analyze the $\bar B_c\to ��_c ��\bar��_��$, $\bar B_c\to J/����\bar��_��$, $\bar B\to D��\bar��_��$ and $\bar B\to D^*��\bar��_��$ semileptonic decays. We show that, as a general rule, the $\bar B_c \to J/��$ observables, even including $��$ polarization, are less optimal for distinguishing between NP scenarios than those obtained from $\bar B_c \to ��_c$ decays, or those presented in N. Penalva et al. for the related $��_b \to ��_c$ semileptonic decay. Finally, we show that $\bar B\to D$ and $\bar B_c\to ��_c$, and $\bar B\to D^*$ and $\bar B_c\to J/��$ decay observables exhibit similar behaviors., 28 latex pages, 26 figures, 2 tables, a new reference added and a few misprints corrected

We study odd parity $J=1/2$ and $J=3/2$ $��_c$ resonances using a unitarized coupled-channel framework based on a ${\rm SU(6)}_{\rm lsf}\times$HQSS-extended Weinberg-Tomozawa baryon-meson interaction, while paying a special attention to the renormalization procedure. We predict a large molecular $��_c \bar K$ component for the $��_c(2790)$ with a dominant $0^-$ light-degree-of-freedom spin configuration. We discuss the differences between the $3/2^-$ $��_c(2625)$ and $��_c(2815)$ states, and conclude that they cannot be SU(3) siblings, whereas we predict the existence of other $��_c-$states, two of them related to the two-pole structure of the $��_c(2595)$. It is of particular interest a pair of $J=1/2$ and $J=3/2$ poles, which form a HQSS doublet and that we tentatively assign to the $��_c(2930)$ and $��_c(2970)$, respectively. Within this picture, the $��_c(2930)$ would be part of a SU(3) sextet, containing either the $��_c(3090)$ or the $��_c(3119)$, and that would be completed by the $��_c(2800)$. Moreover, we identify a $J=1/2$ sextet with the $��_b(6227)$ state and the recently discovered $��_b(6097)$. Assuming the equal spacing rule and to complete this multiplet, we predict the existence of a $J=1/2$ $��_b$ odd parity state, with a mass of 6360 MeV and that should be seen in the $��_b \bar K$ channel., 13 pages, 5 figures, 4 tables

We consider the ${\bar D}^{(*)}��_c^{(*)}$ states, together with $J/��N$ and other coupled channels, and take an interaction consistent with heavy quark spin symmetry, with the dynamical input obtained from an extension of the local hidden gauge approach. By fitting only one parameter to the recent three pentaquark states reported by the LHCb collaboration, we can reproduce the three of them in base to the mass and the width, providing for them the quantum numbers and approximate molecular structure as $1/2^-$ $\bar{D} ��_c$, $1/2^-$ $\bar{D}^* ��_c$, and $3/2^-$ $\bar{D}^* ��_c$, and isospin $I=1/2$. We find another state around 4374 MeV, of $3/2^-$ $\bar{D} ��_c^*$ structure, for which indications appear in the experimental spectrum. Two other near degenerate states of $1/2^-$ $\bar{D}^* ��_c^*$ and $3/2^-$ $\bar{D}^* ��_c^*$ nature are also found around 4520 MeV, which although less clear, are not incompatible with the observed spectrum. In addition, a $5/2^-$ $\bar D^* ��_c^*$ state at the same energy appears, which however does not couple to $J/��p$ in $S-$wave, and hence it is not expected to show up in the LHCb experiment., 8 pages

By solving the Muskhelishvili-Omn��s integral equations, the scalar form factors of the semileptonic heavy meson decays $D\to��\bar \ell ��_\ell$, $D\to \bar{K} \bar \ell ��_\ell$, $\bar{B}\to ��\ell \bar��_\ell$ and $\bar{B}_s\to K \ell \bar��_\ell$ are simultaneously studied. As input, we employ unitarized heavy meson-Goldstone boson chiral coupled-channel amplitudes for the energy regions not far from thresholds, while, at high energies, adequate asymptotic conditions are imposed. The scalar form factors are expressed in terms of Omn��s matrices multiplied by vector polynomials, which contain some undetermined dispersive subtraction constants. We make use of heavy quark and chiral symmetries to constrain these constants, which are fitted to lattice QCD results both in the charm and the bottom sectors, and in this latter sector to the light-cone sum rule predictions close to $q^2=0$ as well. We find a good simultaneous description of the scalar form factors for the four semileptonic decay reactions. From this combined fit, and taking advantage that scalar and vector form factors are equal at $q^2=0$, we obtain $|V_{cd}|=0.244\pm 0.022$, $|V_{cs}|=0.945\pm 0.041$ and $|V_{ub}|=(4.3\pm 0.7)\times10^{-3}$ for the involved Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa (CKM) matrix elements. In addition, we predict the following vector form factors at $q^2=0$: $|f_+^{D\to��}(0)|=0.01\pm 0.05$, $|f_+^{D_s\to K}(0)|=0.50 \pm 0.08$, $|f_+^{D_s\to��}(0)|=0.73\pm 0.03$ and $|f_+^{\bar{B}\to��}(0)|=0.82 \pm 0.08$, which might serve as alternatives to determine the CKM elements when experimental measurements of the corresponding differential decay rates become available. Finally, we predict the different form factors above the $q^2-$regions accessible in the semileptonic decays, up to moderate energies amenable to be described using the unitarized coupled-channel chiral approach., includes further discussions and references; matches the accepted version

The masses of the $D^\ast_{s0}(2317)$ and $D_{s1}(2460)$ resonances lie below the $DK$ and $D^\ast K$ thresholds respectively, which contradicts the predictions of naive quark models and points out to non-negligible effects of the $D^{(\ast)}K$ loops in the dynamics of the even-parity scalar ($J^\pi=0^+$) and axial-vector ($J^\pi=1^+$) $c\bar s$ systems. Recent lattice QCD studies, incorporating the effects of the $D^{(\ast)}K$ channels, analyzed these spin-parity sectors and correctly described the $D^\ast_{s0}(2317)-D_{s1}(2460)$ mass splitting. Motivated by such works, we study the structure of the $D_{s0}^\ast(2317)$ and $D_{s1}(2460)$ resonances in the framework of an effective field theory consistent with heavy quark spin symmetry, and that incorporates the interplay between $D^{(\ast)}K$ meson-meson degrees of freedom and bare P-wave $c\bar s$ states predicted by constituent quark models. We extend the scheme to finite volumes and fit the strength of the coupling between both types of degrees of freedom to the available lattice levels, which we successfully describe. We finally estimate the size of the $D^{(\ast)}K$ two-meson components in the $D^\ast_{s0}(2317)$ and $D_{s1}(2460)$ resonances, and we conclude that these states have a predominantly hadronic-molecular structure, and that it should not be tried to accommodate these mesons within $c\bar{s}$ constituent quark model patterns., Comment: 21 pages, 5 figures. We propose to perform new measurements of proton and pion scattering on argon using a prototype High Pressure gas Time Projection Chamber (HPTPC) detector, and by doing so to develop the physics case for, and the technological readiness of, an HPTPC as a neutrino detector for accelerator neutrino oscillation searches. The motivation for this work is to improve knowledge of final state interactions, in order to ultimately achieve 1-2% systematic error on neutrino-nucleus scattering for oscillation measurements at 0.6 GeV and 2.5 GeV neutrino energy, as required for the Charge-Parity (CP) violation sensitivity projections by the Hyper-Kamiokande experiment (Hyper-K) and the Deep Underground Neutrino Experiment (DUNE). The final state interaction uncertainties in neutrino-nucleus interactions dominate cross-section systematic errors, currently 5–10% at these energies, and therefore R&D is needed to explore new approaches to achieve this substantial improvement.

Background The aim of this study was to determine the association between facial pattern according to Ricketts cephalometric analysis, and prevalence of third molar agenesis, taking subject age and gender as control variables. Material and methods An epidemiological survey was conducted based on a sample of 224 candidates for orthodontic treatment aged 12 to 24 (n=224). Third molar agenesis was recorded using Ricketts cephalometric analyses of lateral teleradiographs and panoramic radiographs. The risk for agenesis was predicted considering the 5 Vert Index parameters (facial axis, facial depth, mandibular plane angle, lower facial height and mandibular arch), facial type (brachyfacial, mesofacial, dolichofacial) and sociodemographic variables (age and sex), using odds ratio (OR) calculated by logistic regression. Results Third molar agenesis was observed in 25% of the sample. Risk for agenesis is significantly determined by sociodemographic factors (age, OR: 1.2), cephalic patterns (mesofacial vs dolichofacial, OR:4.3; and brachyfacial vs dolichofacial OR: 3.2) and cephalometric patterns (facial axis, OR: 0.8; lower facial height, OR: 0.8; and mandibular plane angle, OR:0.9). Conclusions Facial parameters (facial axis, lower facial height, and mandibular plane angle) proved to be strong predictors of the risk for third molar agenesis, the prevalence of agenesis being significantly lower in dolichofacial individuals. In this work we calculate the ratios of rates of the $��_b$ nonleptonic and semileptonic decays into the $��_c$(2790) and $��_c$(2815) ($��_c^*$) resonances. These resonances are dynamically generated from the pseudoscalar-baryon and vector-baryon interactions, whose mixing is done using the chiral Weinberg-Tomozawa (WT) meson-baryon interaction extended to four flavors. The first part of the decay is a weak decay that we analyze through their quark constituents where it is noted that only the heavy quarks ($b$ and $c$) participate in the interaction, leaving the light pair ($ds$) as spectators. This first decay then produces a meson-baryon pair that creates the $��_c^*$ through the WT interaction. We then proceed to calculate the decay rates to $��_c$(2790) and $��_c$(2815) for both the nonleptonic and semileptonic cases and then calculate the ratios between them. We do this calculation nonrelativistically and fully relativistically and notice that, even though both approaches yield somewhat different results in the rates, the ratios are very similar (difference on the order of 1\%) in both cases. The absolute values of the decay rates are also successfully calculated by obtaining the rates between our decays and $��_b \to ��(D_s ) \ ��_c (2595) \left(��_c (2625) \right)$ and $��_b \to \bar��_l l \ ��_c (2595) \left(��_c (2625) \right)$ for which there are experimental results, since the momentum transfer is similar such we can cancel out the influence of the quark wave functions in the ratios., 6 pages, 2 figures

We have performed the calculations for the nonleptonic $��_b^- \rightarrow ��^- \ ��_c^0 (2790) \left(J=\frac{1}{2}\right)$ and $��_b^- \rightarrow ��^- \ ��_c^0 (2815) \left(J=\frac{3}{2}\right)$ and the same reactions replacing the $��^-$ by a $D_s^-$. At the same time we evaluate the semileptonic rates for $��_b^- \rightarrow \bar��_l l \ ��_c^0 (2790)$ and $��_b^- \rightarrow \bar��_l l \ ��_c^0 (2815)$. We look at the reactions from the perspective that the $��_c^0 (2790)$ and $��_c^0 (2815)$ resonances are dynamically generated from the pseudoscalar-baryon and vector-baryon interactions. We evaluate ratios of the rates of these reactions and make predictions that can be tested in future experiments. We also find that the results are rather sensitive to the coupling of the $��_c^*$ resonances to the $D^* ��$ and $D^* ��$ components., 12 pages, 5 figures

We have reviewed the renormalization procedure used in the unitarized coupled-channel model of Phys. Rev. D85 114032 (2012), and its impact in the $C=1$, $S=-2$, and $I=0$ sector, where five $��_c^{(*)}$ states have been recently observed by the LHCb Collaboration. The meson-baryon interactions used in the model are consistent with both chiral and heavy-quark spin symmetries and lead to a successful description of the observed lowest-lying odd parity resonances $��_c(2595)$ and $��_c(2625)$, and $��_b(5912)$ and $��_b(5920)$ resonances. We show that some (probably at least three) of the states observed by LHCb will also have odd parity and spins $J=1/2$ and $J=3/2$, belonging two of them to the same ${\rm SU(6)}_{\rm light-spin-flavor}\times$HQSS multiplets that the latter strangenessless heavy$-��$ baryons., 11 pages, 3 figures, 6 tables, published in The European Physical Journal C

Recent studies have shown that the well established $��_c(2595)$ resonance contains a large meson-baryon component, which can vary depending on the specific formalism. In this work, we examine such a picture by utilizing the compositeness condition and the large number of colors ($N_c$) expansion. We examine three different models fulfilling two body unitarity in coupled-channels, and adopting renormalization schemes where the mass of the $��_c(2595)$ resonance is well described, but not necessarily its width, since we do not consider three body channels and work at the isospin symmetric limit. Both approximations might have an effect larger on the width than on the mass. In this context, our studies show that the compositeness of the $��_c(2595)$ depends on the number of considered coupled channels, and on the particular regularization scheme adopted in the unitary approaches and, therefore, is model dependent. In addition, we perform an exploratory study of the $��_c(2595)$ in the large $N_c$ expansion, within a scheme involving only the $����_c$ and $K��'_c$ channels, whose dynamics is mostly fixed by chiral symmetry. In this context and formulating the leading-order interaction as a function of $N_c$, we show that for moderate $N_c> 3$ values, the mass and width of the $��_c(2595)$ deviate from those of a genuine $qqq$ baryon, implying the relevance of meson-baryon components in its wave function. Furthermore, we study the properties of the $��_c(2595)$, in the strict $N_c \to \infty $ limit, using an extension of the chiral Weinberg-Tomozawa interaction to an arbitrary number of flavors and colors. This latter study hints at the possible existence of a (perhaps) sub-dominant $qqq$ component in the $��_c(2595)$ resonance wave function, which would become dominant when the number of colors gets sufficiently large., 33 pages, 2 figures

Understanding single pion production reactions on free nucleons is the first step towards a correct description of these processes in nuclei, which are important for signal and background contributions in current and near future accelerator neutrino oscillation experiments. In this work, we reanalyze our previous studies of neutrino-induced one-pion production on nucleons for outgoing $��N$ invariant masses below 1.4 GeV. Our motivation is to get a better description of the $��_��n\to��^- n��^+$ cross section, for which current theoretical models give values significantly below data. This channel is very sensitive to the crossed $��(1232)$ contribution and thus to spin 1/2 components in the Rarita-Schwinger $��$ propagator. We show how these spin 1/2 components are nonpropagating and give rise to contact interactions. In this context, we point out that the discrepancy with experiment might be corrected by the addition of appropriate extra contact terms and argue that this procedure will provide a natural solution to the $��_��n\to��^- n��^+$ puzzle. To keep our model simple, in this work we propose to change the strength of the spin 1/2 components in the $��$ propagator and use the $��_��n\to��^- n��^+$ data to constraint its value. With this modification, we now find a good reproduction of the $��_��n\to��^- n��^+$ cross section without affecting the good results previously obtained for the other channels. We also explore how this change in the $��$ propagator affects our predictions for pion photoproduction and find also a better agreement with experiment than with the previous model., 21 pages, 1 Table, 8 Figures. We present a new determination of the $N��$ axial form factors from neutrino induced pion production data. For this purpose, the model of Hernandez {\it et al.} [Phys. Rev. D76, 033005 (2007)] is improved by partially restoring unitarity. This is accomplished by imposing Watson's theorem on the dominant vector and axial multipoles. As a consequence, a larger $C_5^A(0)$, in good agreement with the prediction from the off-diagonal Goldberger-Treiman relation, is now obtained., 17 latex pages, 7 figures, 2 tables. We perform a theoretical analysis of the $��_b \to J/��K^- p$ reaction from where a recent LHCb experiment extracts a $��(1405)$ contribution in the $K^- p$ spectrum close to threshold and two baryon states of hidden charm in the $J/��\,p$ spectrum. We recall that baryon states of this type have been theoretically predicted matching the mass, width and $J^P$ of the experiment, concretely some states built up from the $J/��\, N$, $\bar D^* ��_c$, $\bar D^* ��_c$, $\bar D ��^*_c$ and $\bar D^* ��^*_c$ coupled channels. We assume that the observed narrow state around 4450 MeV has this nature and we are able to describe simultaneously the shapes and relative strength of the the $K^- p$ mass distribution close to threshold and the peak of the $J/��\,p$ distribution, with values of the $J/��\, p$ coupling to the resonance in line with the theoretical ones. The non trivial matching of many properties gives support to a $J^P=3/2^-$ assignment to this state and to its nature as a molecular state mostly made of $\bar D^* ��_c$ and $\bar D^* ��^*_c$., 4 pages, 2 figures

We study the dependence on the quark mass of the compositeness of the lowest-lying odd parity hyperon states. Thus, we pay attention to $��-$like states in the strange, charm and beauty, sectors which are dynamically generated using a unitarized meson-baryon model. In the strange sector we use an SU(6) extension of the Weinberg-Tomozawa meson-baryon interaction, and we further implement the heavy-quark spin symmetry to construct the meson-baryon interaction when charmed or beauty hadrons are involved. In the three examined flavor sectors, we obtain two $J^P=1/2^-$ and one $J^P=3/2^-$ $��$ states. We find that the $��$ states which are bound states (the three $��_b$) or narrow resonances (one $��(1405)$ and one $��_c(2595)$) are well described as molecular states composed of $s$-wave meson-baryon pairs. The $\frac{1}{2}^-$ wide $��(1405)$ and $��_c(2595)$ as well as the $\frac{3}{2}^-$ $��(1520)$ and $��_c(2625)$ states display smaller compositeness and so they would require new mechanisms, such as $d$-wave interactions., 14 pages, 2 figures, 5 tables

In this work, we study systems composed of a $��/��$ and $B^*$ meson pair. We find three bound states in isospin, spin-parity channels $(1/2, 0^+)$, $(1/2, 1^+)$ and $(1/2, 2^+)$. The state with $J=2$ can be a good candidate for the $B_2^*(5747)$. We also study the $��B$ system, and a bound state with mass $5728$ MeV and width around $20$ MeV is obtained, which can be identified with the $B_1(5721)$ resonance. In the case of $I=3/2$, one obtains repulsion and thus, no exotic (molecular) mesons in this sector are generated in the approach.

New and more precise measurements of neutrino cross sections have renewed the interest in a better understanding of electroweak interactions on nucleons and nuclei. This effort is crucial to achieve the precision goals of the neutrino oscillation program, making new discoveries, like the CP violation in the leptonic sector, possible. We review the recent progress in the physics of neutrino cross sections, putting emphasis on the open questions that arise in the comparison with new experimental data. Following an overview of recent neutrino experiments and future plans, we present some details about the theoretical development in the description of (anti)neutrino-induced quasielastic scattering and the role of multi-nucleon quasielastic-like mechanisms. We cover not only pion production in nucleons and nuclei but also other inelastic channels including strangeness production and photon emission. Coherent reaction channels on nuclear targets are also discussed. We reevaluate the $B\to��\,l^+��_l$ decay width as a full $B\to����\,l^+��_l$ four-particle decay, in which the two final pions are produced via an intermediate $��$ meson. The decay width can be written as a convolution of the $B\to��\,l^+��_l$ decay width, for an off-shell $��$, with the $��\to����$ line shape. This allows to fully incorporate the effects of the finite $��$ meson width. As shown, consideration of the $��$ meson width effects increase the $|V_{ub}|$ value by some 8%, rendering it in better agreement with the determination based in the $B\to��$ decay. We take the $q^2$ dependence of the $B\to ��$ semileptonic form factors from a dispersive Omn��s representation. The Omn��s subtraction constants and the overall normalization parameter $|V_{ub}|$ are fitted to light cone sum rules and lattice QCD theoretical form-factor calculations, in the low and high $q^2$ regions respectively, together to the CLEO, BaBar and Belle experimental partial branching fraction distributions. The extracted value from this global fit is $|V_{ub}|=(3.12\pm 0.13)\times 10^{-3}$, in agreement with the average $B\to ��$ exclusive value $|V_{ub}|=(3.23\pm 0.31)\times 10^{-3}$ quoted by the Particle Data Group. The extracted value increases to $|V_{ub}|=(3.51\pm 0.16)\times 10^{-3}$ if only the most recent Belle Collaboration data is used. This latter value is in agreement with different theoretical determinations based in the $B\to��$ semileptonic decay and the values obtained by the CKMfitter and UTfit groups. In any case a clear tension with the $|V_{ub}|$ value extracted from inclusive semileptonic $b\to u$ decays still persists., 13 latex pages, 3 figures, 3 tables. We study the $f^+$ form factor for the $\bar B_s\to K^+\ell^-\bar��_\ell$ semileptonic decay in a nonrelativistic quark model. The valence quark contribution is supplemented with a $\bar B^*$-pole term that dominates the high $q^2$ region. To extend the quark model predictions from its region of applicability near $q^2_{\rm max}=(M_{B_s}-M_K)^2$, we use a multiply-subtracted Omn��s dispersion relation. We fit the subtraction constants to a combined input from previous light cone sum rule results in the low $q^2$ region and the quark model results (valence plus $\bar B^*$-pole) in the high $q^2$ region. From this analysis, we obtain $��(\bar B_s\to K^+\ell^-\bar��_\ell)=(5.47^{+0.54}_{-0.46})|V_{ub}|^2\times 10^{-9}\,{\rm MeV}$, which is about 10% and 20% higher than predictions based on Lattice QCD and QCD light cone sum rules respectively., 4 latex pages, 3 figures, 1 table. Based on previous studies that support the important role of the $N^*(2120) D_{13}$ resonance in the $��p \to K^+ ��(1520)$ reaction, we make a re-analysis of this $��(1520)$ photoproduction reaction taking into account the recent CLAS differential cross-section data. In addition to the contact, $t-$channel $\bar K$ exchange, $s-$channel nucleon pole and $N^*(2120)$ [previously called $N^*(2080)$] resonance contributions, which have been already considered in previous works, we also study the $u-$channel $��(1115)$ hyperon pole term. The latter mechanism has always been ignored in all theoretical analysis, which has mostly relied on the very forward $K^+$ angular LEPS data. It is shown that when the contributions from the $N^*(2120)$ resonance and the $��(1115)$ hyperon are taken into account, both the new CLAS and the previous LEPS data can be simultaneously described. We also show that the contribution from the $u-$channel $��(1115)$ pole term produces an enhancement for large $K^+$ angles, and it becomes more and more relevant as the photon energy increases, being essential to describe the CLAS differential cross sections at backward angles. Furthermore, we find that the new CLAS data also favor the existence of the $N^*(2120)$ resonance, and that these measurements can be used to further constrain its properties., 10 pages, 6 figures

We analyze the MiniBooNE muon neutrino CCQE-like d��/dT_��/dcos��_��data using a theoretical model that, among other nuclear effects, includes RPA correlations and 2p2h (multinucleon) mechanisms. These corrections turn out to be essential for the description of the data. We find that MiniBooNE CCQE-like data are fully compatible with former determinations of the nucleon axial mass M_A ~ 1.05 GeV. This is in sharp contrast with several previous analysis where anomalously large values of M_A ~ 1.4 GeV have been suggested. We also show that because of the the multinucleon mechanism effects, the algorithm used to reconstruct the neutrino energy is not adequate when dealing with quasielastic-like events. Finally, we analyze the MiniBooNE unfolded cross section, and show that it exhibits an excess (deficit) of low (high) energy neutrinos, which is an artifact of the unfolding process that ignores 2p2h mechanisms., 5 pages, 3 figures, Proceedings of NUINT 2012, Rio de Janeiro, October 2012

The associate $K��(1520)$ photon and hadronic production in the $��p \to K^+��(1520)$, $p p \to p K^+ ��(1520)$ and $��^- p \to K^0 ��(1520)$ reactions are investigated within the effective Lagrangian approach and the isobar model. We are interested in the contribution from the $N^*(2120)$ (previously called $N^*(2080)$) resonance, which has a significant coupling to the $K��(1520)$ channel. The theoretical results show that the current experimental data for the $��p \to K^+��(1520)$ reaction favor the existence of the $N^*(2120)$ resonance, and that these measurements can be used to further constrain its properties. We present results, including the $N^*(2120)$ contribution, for total cross sections of the $��p \to K^+��(1520)$, $��^- p \to K^0 ��(1520)$, and $p p \to p K^+ ��(1520)$ reactions. Data on $����$ hypernuclei provide a unique method to learn details about the strangeness S =- 2 sector of the baryon-baryon interaction. From the free space Bonn-J��lich potentials, determined from data on baryon-baryon scattering in the S = 0, -1 channels, we construct an interaction in the S =-2 sector to describe the experimentally known LL hypernuclei. After including short-range (Jastrow) and RPA correlations, we find masses for these LL hypernuclei in a reasonable agreement with data, taking into account theoretical and experimental uncertainties. We study odd-parity baryonic resonances with one heavy and three light flavors, dynamically generated by meson-baryon interactions. Special attention is paid to Heavy Quark Spin Symmetry (HQSS), hence pseudoscalar and vector mesons and baryons with J^P = 1/2+ and 3/2+ are considered as constituent hadrons. For the hidden-charm sector (N-c-quarks = N-c-antiquarks = 1), the meson-baryon Lagrangian with Heavy Flavor Symmetry is constructed by a minimal extension of the SU(3) Weinberg-Tomozawa (WT) Lagrangian to fulfill HQSS, such that not new parameters are needed. This interaction can be presented in different formal ways: as a Field Lagrangian, as Hadron creation-annihilation operators, as SU(6)xHQSS group projectors and as multichannel matrices. The multichannel Bethe-Salpeter equation is solved for odd-parity light baryons, hidden-charm N and Delta and Beauty Baryons (Lambda-b). Charmed baryon resonances that are generated dynamically are studied within a unitary baryon-meson coupled-channel model, which incorporates heavy-quark spin symmetry. The extension of the SU(3) Weinberg-Tomozawa chiral Lagrangian to SU(8) spin-flavor symmetry plus a suitable symmetry breaking is used. The model produces resonances with negative parity from s-wave interaction of pseudoscalar and vector mesons with $1/2^+$ and $3/2^+$ baryons. We evaluate exclusive semileptonic decays of ground-state spin-1/2 doubly heavy charmed baryons. The decays are driven by a $c\to s,d$ transition at the quark level. We study charmed and strange baryon resonances that are generated dynamically within a unitary meson-baryon coupled-channel model which incorporates heavy-quark spin symmetry. This is accomplished by extending the SU(3) Weinberg-Tomozawa chiral Lagrangian to SU(8) spin-flavor symmetry and implementing a strong flavor symmetry breaking. The model generates dynamically resonances with negative parity in all the isospin, spin, and strange and charm sectors that one can form from an s-wave interaction between pseudoscalar and vector meson multiplets with $1/2^+$ and $3/2^+$ baryons. Our results are compared with experimental data from several facilities as well as with other theoretical models. Moreover, we obtain the properties of charmed pseudoscalar and vector mesons in dense matter within this coupled-channel unitary effective model by taking into account Pauli-blocking effects and meson self-energies in a self-consistent manner. A Model Predictive Control (MPC) is a system which allows us to control a production plant. Thanks to this type of system is possible to make a production that comes close to “zero defects”. In order to achieve its main goal, this kind of systems consists of several phases. One of the most important is the phase that predicts the situation in which the plant is going to be in a given time. Currently, the majority of the research in this field are related to linear MPC, although the process, which the model tries to represent, may not be. Thus, this paper presents several experiments that proof that the forecast phase, usually represented by a single mathematical function, can be represented by machine-learning models. Un Modelo Predictivo de Control (MPC) es un sistema que permite llevar a cabo el control de una planta de producción. Gracias a este tipo de sistemas es posible realizar una producción que se aproxime al “cero defectos”. Para poder desempeñar su labor fundamental, este tipo de sistemas se compone de varias fases o etapas. Una de las más importantes es la fase que permite predecir la situación en la que se va a encontrar la planta en un momento dado. La mayoría de los avances realizados en este campo han estado ligados a los MPC lineales, a pesar de que el proceso que se intenta representar no lo sea. Así, en este artículo, se presentan varios experimentos que permiten demostrar que la etapa de predicción, habitualmente representada por una única función matemática, puede ser representada mediante modelos de aprendizaje automático.

We construct pi-pi amplitudes that fulfill exact elastic unitarity, account for one loop Chiral Perturbation Theory contributions and include all 1/Nc leading terms, with the only limitation of considering just the lowest-lying nonet of exchanged resonances. Within such scheme, the Nc dependence of sigma and rho masses and widths is discussed. Robust conclusions are drawn in the case of the rho resonance, confirming that it is a stable meson in the limit of a large number of QCD colors, Nc. Less definitive conclusions are reached in the scalar-isoscalar sector. With the present quality of data, we cannot firmly conclude whether or not the Nc=3 f0(600) resonance completely disappears at large Nc or it has a sub-dominant component in its structure, which would become dominant for a number of quark colors sufficiently large., Comment: 27 pages, 10 figures

We present results for the strong widths corresponding to the $��_b\to ��_b\, ��$ and $��_b^{*}\to ��_b\, ��$ decays. We apply our model in Ref. Phys. Rev. D 72, 094022 (2005) where we previously studied the corresponding transitions in the charmed sector. Our non-relativistic constituent quark model uses wave functions that take advantage of the constraints imposed by heavy quark symmetry. We obtain the properties of charmed mesons in dense matter using a coupled-channel approach which accounts for Pauli blocking effects and meson self-energies in a self-consistent manner. We study the behaviour of dynamically-generated baryonic resonances together with the open-charm meson spectral functions in this dense nuclear environment. We re-evaluate our model predictions in Phys. Rev. D 79, 013002 (2009) for different observables in neutrino induced coherent pion production. This comes as a result of the new improved fit to old bubble chamber data of the dominant axial C_5^A nucleon-to-Delta form factor. We find an increase of 20%-30% in the values for the total cross sections. Uncertainties induced by the errors in the determination of C_5^A are computed. Our new results turn out to be compatible within about $1��$ with the former ones. We also stress the existing tension between the recent experimental determination of the ��(CC coh ��^+)}/��(NC coh ��^0)} $ ratio by the SciBooNE Collaboration and the theoretical predictions., 3 latex pages, 1 figure. Presented at the XXXI Mazurian Lakes Conference on Physics, Piaski, Poland, August 30–September 6, 2009., We study the properties of strange and charm mesons in hot and dense matter within a self-consistent coupled-channel approach for the experimental conditions of density and temperature expected for the CBM experiment at FAIR/GSI. The in-medium solution at finite temperature accounts for Pauli blocking effects, mean-field binding of all the baryons involved, and meson self-energies. We analyse the behaviour in this hot and dense environment of dynamically-generated baryonic resonances together with the evolution with density and temperature of the strange and open-charm meson spectral functions. We test the spectral functions for strange mesons using energy-weighted sum rules and finally discuss the implications of the properties of charm mesons on the Ds0(2317) and the predicted X(3700) scalar resonances., nowledges support from the RFF project of the University of Groningen. The chiral limit of the rho and sigma masses and widths is discussed. We work within the inverse amplitude method to one loop in SU(2) ChPT and analyze the consequences that all chiral logarithms cancel out in the rho-channel, while they do not cancel for the sigma case, and how they strongly influence the properties of this latter resonance. Our results confirm and explain the different behavior of the sigma and rho poles for NC not far from 3, but we extend the analysis to very large NC, where the behavior of these two resonances is re-analyzed. We note that the rather natural requirement of consistency between resonance saturation and unitarization imposes useful constraints. By looking only at the rho-channel, and within the single resonance approximation, we find that the masses of the first vector and scalar meson nonets, invoked in the single resonance approximation, turn out to be degenerated in the large NC limit. On the contrary we show that, for sufficiently large NC, the scalar meson evolution lies beyond the applicability reach of the one-loop inverse amplitude method and if the scalar channel is also incorporated in the analysis, it may lead, in some cases, to phenomenologically inconsistent results., Comment: 11 pages, 1 figure

We qualitatively corroborate the results of W. Roberts and M. Pervin in Int. J. Mod. Phys. A 24, 2401 (2009) according to which hyperfine mixing greatly affects the decay widths of $b\to c$ semileptonic decays involving doubly heavy $bc$ baryons. However, our predictions for the decay widths of the unmixed states differ from those reported in the work of Roberts and Pervin by a factor of 2, and this discrepancy translates to the mixed case. We further show that the predictions of heavy quark spin symmetry, might be used in the future to experimentally extract information on the admixtures in the actual physical $bc$ baryons, in a model independent manner., Comment: 7 Latex pages, 4 Tables

We review Quasielastic (QE) inclusive and semi--inclusive neutrino/antineutrino Charged Current (CC) and Neutral Current (NC) induced nuclear reactions at intermediate energies. We pay special attention to nuclear corrections besides Pauli blocking: Long and Short range nuclear correlations (RPA and SRC) and particle and hole Spectral Functions (SF). We also critically review the use of the Plane and Distorted Wave Impulse approximations (PWIA and DWIA) to describe inclusive one nucleon knockout reactions off nuclei. In this context, we present results from a Monte Carlo cascade method to account for the rescattering of the outgoing nucleon.
