Insecticide resistance is jeopardizing malaria control efforts in Africa, by allowing Anopheles vectors to survive insecticide exposure. However, the impact of resistance mechanisms on the ability of mosquitoes to develop and transmit the Plasmodium malaria parasites is not yet well understood. Our project aimed to investigate the impact of glutathione S-transferase-based metabolic resistance on vector comptence of Anopheles funestus, a major malaria vector in Subsaharan Africa.
