In the Standard Model (SM) charmless hadronic decays $B_s^0 \rightarrow ��^\prime ��$ proceed via tree-level $b\to u$ and penguin $b\to s$ transitions. Penguin transitions are sensitive to Beyond-the-Standard-Model (BSM) physics scenarios and could affect the branching fractions and {\it CP} asymmetries in such decays. Once branching fractions for two-body decays $B_s \to ����, ����^{\prime}, ��^{\prime}��^{\prime} $ are measured, and the theoretical uncertainties are reduced, it would be possible to extract {\it CP} violating parameters from the data using the formalism based on SU(3)/U(3) symmetry. To achieve this goal, at least four of these six branching fractions need to be measured. Only the branching fraction for $B_s^0 \to ��^{\prime}��^{\prime}$ has been measured so far.

We report results from a search for the decay $B_s^0\rightarrow����$ using 121.4 fb$^{-1}$ of data collected at the $��(5S)$ resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy $e^+e^-$ collider. We do not observe any signal and set an upper limit on the branching fraction of $14.3\times 10^{-5}$ at $90\%$ confidence level. This result represents a significant improvement over the previous most stringent limit., 7 pages, 6 figures

The experimental results on the ratios of branching fractions R(D)=B(B¯→Dτ−ν¯τ)/B(B¯→Dℓ−ν¯ℓ) and R(D*)=B(B¯→D*τ−ν¯τ)/B(B¯→D*ℓ−ν¯ℓ), where ℓ denotes an electron or a muon, show a long-standing discrepancy with the standard model predictions, and might hint at a violation of lepton flavor universality. We report a new simultaneous measurement of R(D) and R(D*), based on a data sample containing 772×106 BB¯ events recorded at the ϒ(4S) resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB e+e− collider. In this analysis the tag-side B meson is reconstructed in a semileptonic decay mode and the signal-side τ is reconstructed in a purely leptonic decay. The measured values are R(D)=0.307±0.037±0.016 and R(D*)=0.283±0.018±0.014, where the first uncertainties are statistical and the second are systematic. These results are in agreement with the standard model predictions within 0.2, 1.1, and 0.8 standard deviations for R(D), R(D*), and their combination, respectively. This work constitutes the most precise measurements of R(D) and R(D*) performed to date as well as the first result for R(D) based on a semileptonic tagging method.

The hassle of queues in shops, human errors in manually generated bills and the wastage of time in the packaging of products after shopping creates inconvenience to shoppers and eventually leads to lower customer satisfaction levels. This paper discusses the design of a shopping system where the customers drop products into a trolley which has an RFID reader to scan the RFID tags associated with products. After completion of shopping, customers can exit the shop with their bills deducted automatically from their e-Wallet. RFID technology has been incorporated with IR sensors to be able to accurately detect and determine whether a product has entered the cart or not. A Django Web Application is hosted on an AWS EC2 instance to allow customers to keep track of their transactions. The RFID system is connected to a Raspberry Pi with inbuilt Wi-Fi to communicate with an Amazon RDS MySQL instance which stores the inventory of the retail store along with the prices of the products. It also stores the current items in the cart and the history of previous transactions of every customer. An elaborate discussion of the existing system, the architecture of the implemented system, and results has been included in this paper. A future design using a ring-based RFID reader to cover the entire cart and ensure that any RFID tag within the region is scanned has been discussed. This design is integrated with a weight mat as an additional validation mechanism.

We report an experimental determination of the isospin of $��_c(2765)^+/��_c(2765)^+$ using 980 fb$^{-1}$ data in the $e^+e^-$ annihilation around $\sqrt{s} = 10.6$ GeV collected by the Belle detector located at the KEKB collider. The isospin partners are searched for in the $��_c(2455)^{++/0} ��^{0}$ channels, and no evidence was obtained. We report a search for the charmless baryonic decay $B^0\to p\bar{p}��^0$ with a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 711~$\rm fb^{-1}$ containing $(772\pm 10)\times 10^6$ $B^0\bar{B}^0$ pairs. The data was collected by the Belle experiment running on the $��(4S)$ resonance at the KEKB $e^+e^-$ collider. We measure a branching fraction $\mathcal{B}(B^0\to p\bar{p}��^0)= (5.0\pm1.8\pm0.6 )\times 10^{-7}$, where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second is systematic. The signal has a significance of 3.1 standard deviations and constitutes the first evidence for this decay mode. We also search for the intermediate two-body decays $B^{0}\to��^+\bar{p}$ and $B^0\to\bar��^-p$, and set an upper limit on the branching fraction: $\mathcal{B}(B^0\to ��^+\bar{p})+\mathcal{B}(B^0\to\bar��^-p), 8 pages, 3 figures, Submitted to Phys. We report the results of a search for the decay $B^0 \to X(3872)(\to J/����^+ ��^-) ��$. The analysis is performed on a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of $711\,{\rm fb}^{-1}$ and containing $772 \times 10^6 B\bar{B}$ pairs, collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy $e^+ e^-$ collider running at the $��(4S)$ resonance energy. We find no evidence for a signal and place an upper limit of $\mathcal{B}(B^0 \to X(3872)��)\times \mathcal{B}(X(3872) \to J/����^+ ��^-) < 5.1 \times 10^{-7}$ at 90% confidence level., 7 pages, 3 figures

This work reports the first observation of azimuthal asymmetries around the thrust axis in $e^+e^-$ annihilation of pairs of back-to-back charged pions in one hemisphere, and $��^0$ and $��$ mesons in the opposite hemisphere. These results are complemented by a new analysis of pairs of back-to-back charged pions. The $��^0$ and $��$ asymmetries rise with the relative momentum $z$ of the detected hadrons as well as with the transverse momentum with respect to the thrust axis. These asymmetries are sensitive to the Collins fragmentation function $H_1^{\perp}$ and provide complementary information to previous measurements with charged pions and kaons in the final state. In particular, the $��$ final states will provide additional information on the flavor structure of $H_1^{\perp}$. This is the first measurement of the explicit transverse-momentum dependence of the Collins fragmentation function from Belle data. We present the first model-independent measurement of the CKM unitarity triangle angle $��_3$ using $B^{\pm}\to D(K_{\rm S}^0��^+��^-��^0)K^{\pm}$ decays, where $D$ indicates either a $D^{0}$ or $\overline{D}^{0}$ meson. Measurements of the strong-phase difference of the $D \to K_{\rm S}^0��^+��^-��^0$ amplitude obtained from CLEO-c data are used as input. This analysis is based on the full Belle data set of $772\times 10^{6}$ $B\overline{B}$ events collected at the $��(4S)$ resonance. We obtain $��_3 = (5.7~^{+10.2}_{-8.8} \pm 3.5 \pm 5.7)^{\circ}$ and the suppressed amplitude ratio $r_{B} = 0.323 \pm 0.147 \pm 0.023 \pm 0.051$. Here the first uncertainty is statistical, the second is the experimental systematic, and the third is due to the precision of the strong-phase parameters measured from CLEO-c data. The 95% confidence interval on $��_3$ is $(-29.7,~109.5)^{\circ}$, which is consistent with the current world average.

We report a new measurement of the $e^+e^-\to��(nS)��^+��^-$ ($n=1,2,3$) cross sections at energies from 10.52 to 11.02 GeV using data collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy $e^+e^-$ collider. We observe a new structure in the energy dependence of the cross sections; if described by a Breit-Wigner function its mass and width are found to be $M=(10752.7\pm5.9\,^{+0.7}_{-1.1})\,$MeV/$c^2$ and $��=(35.5^{+17.6}_{-11.3}\,^{+3.9}_{-3.3})\,$MeV, where the first error is statistical and the second is systematic. The global significance of the new structure including systematic uncertainty is 5.2 standard deviations. We also find evidence for the $e^+e^-\to��(1S)��^+��^-$ process at the energy 10.52 GeV, which is below the $B\bar{B}$ threshold., 26 pages, 12 figures, final version accepted by JHEP

We present the first measurements of branching fractions of rare tau-lepton decays, $��^- \rightarrow ��^- ��_�� \ell^+ \ell^-$ ($\ell = e$ or $��$), using a data sample corresponding to 562 fb$^{-1}$ collected at a center-of-mass energy of 10.58 GeV with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy $e^+ e^-$ collider. The $��^- \rightarrow ��^- ��_��e^+ e^-$ decay is observed for the first time with 7.0$��$ significance. The partial branching fraction determined by the structure-dependent mechanisms mediated by either a vector or an axial-vector current for the mass region $M_{��e e}>1.05$ GeV/$c^2$ is measured to be $\mathcal{B}(��^-\rightarrow ��^- ��_��e^+ e^-)[M_{��^- e^+ e^-}>1.05~{\rm GeV}/c^2] = (5.90 \pm 0.53 \pm 0.85 \pm 0.11) \times 10^{-6}$, where the first uncertainty is statistical, the second is systematic, and the third is due to the model dependence. In the full phase space, due to the different detection efficiencies for the structure-dependent mechanisms mediated by axial-vector and vector currents, the branching fraction varies from $\mathcal{B}_{A}(��^-\rightarrow ��^- ��_��e^+ e^-) = (1.46 \pm 0.13 \pm 0.21) \times 10^{-5}$ to $\mathcal{B}_{V}(��^-\rightarrow ��^- ��_��e^+ e^-) = (3.01 \pm 0.27 \pm 0.43) \times 10^{-5}$, respectively. An upper limit is set on the branching fraction of the $��^- \rightarrow ��^- ��_����^+ ��^-$ decay, $\mathcal{B}(��^-\rightarrow ��^- ��_����^+ ��^-) < 1.14 \times 10^{-5}$, at the 90% confidence level., 8 pages, 5 figures, accepted by PRD(RC)

Using the data sample of 711 fb$^{-1}$ of $��(4S)$ on-resonance data taken by the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy electron-positron collider, we present the first measurements of branching fractions of the decays $B^{-} \to \bar��_{c}^{-} ��_{c}^{'0}$, $B^{-} \to \bar��_{c}^{-} ��_{c}(2645)^{0}$, and $B^{-} \to \bar��_{c}^{-} ��_{c}(2790)^{0} $. The signal yields for these decays are extracted from the recoil mass spectrum of the system recoiling against $\bar��_{c}^{-}$ baryons in selected $B^-$ candidates. The branching fraction of $B^{-} \to \bar��_{c}^{-} ��_{c}(2790)^{0}$ is measured to be $ (1.1 \pm 0.4 \pm 0.2)\times 10^{-3}$, where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second systematic. The 90\% credibility level upper limits on ${\cal B}(B^{-} \to \bar��_{c}^{-} ��_{c}^{'0})$ and ${\cal B}(B^{-} \to \bar��_{c}^{-} ��_{c}(2645)^{0})$ are determined to be $6.5\times 10^{-4}$ and $7.9\times 10^{-4}$, respectively., 9 pages, 3 figures

We report a search for $X(3872)$ and $X(3915)$ in $B^+ \to ��_{c1} ��^0 K^+$ decays. We set an upper limit of $\mathcal{B}(B^+ \to X(3872) K^+) \times \mathcal{B}(X(3872) \to ��_{c1} ��^0)$ $ < 8.1 \times 10^{-6}$ and $\mathcal{B}(B^+ \to X(3915) K^+) \times \mathcal{B}(X(3915) \to ��_{c1} ��^0)$ $ < 3.8 \times 10^{-5}$ at 90\% confidence level. We also measure $\mathcal{B}(X(3872) \to ��_{c1} ��^0)/\mathcal{B}(X(3872) \to J/����^+ ��^-) < 0.97$ at 90\% confidence level. We report a measurement of the branching fraction and final-state asymmetry for the $\bar{B}^{0}\to K^{0}_{S}K^{\mp}��^{\pm}$ decays. Using a data sample of 921.9 fb$^{-1}$ collected with the Belle detector, we study the process of $e^+e^-\to D^+_sD_{s1}(2536)^-+c.c.$ via initial-state radiation. We report the first observation of a vector charmoniumlike state decaying to $D^+_sD_{s1}(2536)^-+c.c.$ with a significance of 5.9$\sigma$, including the systematic uncertainties. The measured mass and width are $(4625.9^{+6.2}_{-6.0}({\rm stat.})\pm0.4({\rm syst.}))~{\rm MeV}/c^{2}$ and $(49.8^{+13.9}_{-11.5}({\rm stat.})\pm4.0({\rm syst.}))~{\rm MeV}$, respectively. The product of the $e^+e^-\to D^+_sD_{s1}(2536)^-+c.c.$ cross section and the branching fraction of $D_{s1}(2536)^-\to{\bar D}^{*0}K^-$ is measured from the $D_s \bar{D}_{s1}(2536)$ threshold to 5.59~GeV., Comment: 8 pages, 3 figures, plus 2 pages Supplemental Material

We report the result for a search for the leptonic decay of $B^+ \to ��^+ \, ��_��$ using the full Belle data set of 711 fb${}^{-1}$ of integrated luminosity at the $��(4S)$ resonance. In the Standard Model leptonic $B$-meson decays are helicity and CKM suppressed. To maximize sensitivity an inclusive tagging approach is used to reconstruct the second $B$ meson produced in the collision. The directional information from this second $B$ meson is used to boost the observed $��$ into the signal $B$ meson rest-frame, in which the $��$ has a monochromatic momentum spectrum. Though its momentum is smeared by the experimental resolution, this technique improves the analysis sensitivity considerably. Analyzing the $��$ momentum spectrum in this frame we find $\mathcal{B}(B^+ \to ��^+ \, ��_��) = \left( 5.3 \pm 2.0 \pm 0.9 \right) \times 10^{-7}$ with a one-sided significance of 2.8 standard deviations over the background-only hypothesis. This translates to a frequentist upper limit of $\mathcal{B}(B^+ \to ��^+ \, ��_��) < 8.6 \times 10^{-7}$ at 90% CL. The experimental spectrum is then used to search for a massive sterile neutrino, $B^+ \to ��^+ \, N$, but no evidence is observed for a sterile neutrino with a mass in a range of 0 - 1.5 GeV. The determined $B^+ \to ��^+ \, ��_��$ branching fraction limit is further used to constrain the mass and coupling space of the type II and type III two-Higgs-doublet models.

Using a data sample of $772 \times 10^6$ BB pairs collected on the $��(4S)$ resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy $e^+e^-$ collider, we report the observations of $B^0\to p{\bar p}��^+��^-$ and $B^+ \to p{\bar p}��^+��^0$. We measure a decay branching fraction of $(0.83 \pm 0.17 \pm 0.17) \times 10^-6$ in $B^0\to p{\bar p}��^+��^-$ for $M_{��^+��^-} < 1.22 GeV/c^2$ with a significance of 5.5 standard deviations. The contribution from $B0 \to p{\bar p}K^0$ is excluded. We measure a decay branching fraction of $(4.58 \pm 1.17 \pm 0.67) \times 10^-6$ for $B^+ \to p{\bar p}��^+��^0$ with $M_{��^+��^0} < 1.3 GeV/c^2$ with a significance of 5.4 standard deviations. We report the results of a search for the $B \to Y(4260) K, ~Y(4260)\to J/����^+��^-$ decays. This study is based on a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 711~fb$^{-1}$, collected at the $��(4S)$ resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy $e^+ e^-$ collider. We investigate the $J/����^+��^-$ invariant mass distribution in the range 4.0 to 4.6 GeV/$c^2$ using both $B^+ \to J/����^+��^- K^+$ and $B^0 \to J/����^+��^- K^0_S$ decays. We find excesses of events above the background levels, with a significances of 2.1 and 0.9 standard deviations for charged and neutral $B \to Y(4260) K$ decays, respectively, taking into account the systematic uncertainties. These correspond to upper limits on the product of branching fractions, ${\cal B}(B^+ \to Y(4260) K^+) \times {\cal B}(Y(4260) \to J/����^+ ��^-), 8 pages, 3 figures, 3 tables

We present the first measurements of the absolute branching fractions of $��_c^+$ decays into $��^- ��^+ ��^+$ and $p K^- ��^+$ final states. Our analysis is based on a data set of $(772\pm 11)\times 10^{6}$ $B\bar{B}$ pairs collected at the $��(4S)$ resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB $e^+e^-$ collider. We measure the absolute branching fraction of $\bar{B}^{0} \to \bar��_{c}^{-} ��_{c}^{+}$ with the $��_c^+$ recoiling against $\bar��_c^-$ in $\bar{B}^0$ decays resulting in ${\cal B}(\bar{B}^{0} \to \bar��_{c}^{-} ��_{c}^{+}) = [1.16 \pm 0.42(\rm stat.) \pm 0.15(\rm syst.)] \times 10^{-3}$. We then measure the product branching fractions ${\cal B}(\bar{B}^{0} \to \bar��_c^- ��_c^+){\cal B}(��_c^+ \to ��^- ��^+ ��^+)$ and ${\cal B}(\bar{B}^{0} \to \bar��_c^- ��_c^+){\cal B}(��_c^+ \to p K^- ��^+)$. Dividing these product branching fractions by $\bar{B}^{0} \to \bar��_{c}^{-} ��_{c}^{+}$ yields: ${\cal B}(��_c^+ \to ��^- ��^+ ��^+) = [2.86 \pm 1.21(\rm stat.) \pm 0.38(\rm syst.)]\%$ and ${\cal B}(��_c^+ \to p K^- ��^+)=[0.45 \pm 0.21(\rm stat.) \pm 0.07(\rm syst.)]\%$. Our result for ${\cal B}(��_c^+ \to ��^- ��^+ ��^+)$ can be combined with $��_c^+$ branching fractions measured relative to $��_c^+ \to ��^- ��^+ ��^+$ to set the absolute scale for many $��_c^+$ branching fractions., 7 pages, 2 figures, accepted for publication as a Rapid Communication in Physical Review D

We report the first measurement of the $D^{\ast -}$ meson polarization in the decay $B^0 \to D^{*-} ��^+��_��$ using the full data sample of 772$\times 10^6$ $B\bar{B}$ pairs recorded with the Belle detector at the KEKB electron-positron collider. We report the first observation of the spontaneous polarization of Λ and Λ¯ hyperons transverse to the production plane in e+e− annihilation, which is attributed to the effect arising from a polarizing fragmentation function. For inclusive Λ/Λ¯ production, we also report results with subtracted feed-down contributions from Σ0 and charm. This measurement uses a dataset of 800.4 fb−1 collected by the Belle experiment at or near a center-of-mass energy of 10.58 GeV. We observe a significant polarization that rises with the fractional energy carried by the Λ/Λ¯ hyperon.
